I'm back. Hello. This is chapter 8, and I am so sorry I've been away for a bit. This is just a fluff chapter, so yeah... huehuehue
A yawn. Mononoke sits up, and looks around the area they staked out. Talon to her right, she stands up. The sun was just peaking over the treeline, shades of orange and pink dying the sky a wonderful canvas of color. A light smile graces her lips. A pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind, and a tired voice yawns out.
"Morning." It was Talon's.
"Morning sleepy head." Mononoke mutters back, and rubs the sleep out of her eyes. The sun rose higher into the sky, the graceful colors slipping away.
"Sleep well?"
"Like a log." Talon chuckles to Mononoke's response. He rests his chin on her head.
"I am no chin rest."
As this transpired, a childish brawl of Assassin and Mage, Jinx and Braum were in the woods. They sat at the cliff edge, Jinx in Braum's strong arms. Jinx's head rested on Braum's chest as she sleeps.
Maybe war does nurse love. Jinx yawns sleepily, blinking the sleep out of her eyes, she smiles and giggles.
"Guess what?~" Jinx chimes in a sing song tune, she smiles vividly up at him, her smile making his heart flutter.
"What?" He smiles down at her, he cannot keep the happiness out of his tone, his smile, his eyes.
"I'm wearing lots of belts! For no reason at all!" She grins widely, and giggles, her laugh infectious. Braum bursts into laughter, a hearty laugh. They were running, yes, but they were human to. Forget the risk, they have emotions, they have a heart. They love, they feel, they bleed and cry. Yet, the Institute used them as pawns. Now, under Monoke's guidance, she will train them as warriors, valiant fighter.
Back to the other side, in a forest clearing, Mononoke was sitting triumphantly on Talon's chest, one leg crossed over the other, her eyes shine with amusement as she looks down at him.
"I do believe I have won~" She taunts, and leans down and kisses him, loving and caring. Talon laughs.
"It would seem so." He grins up at her. But they do not know what is approaching fast... not until they hear a gunshot, and Mononoke falls. Then chaos ensues...
Having heard the shot, Jinx and Braum run to the scene, they see Talon defending Mononoke's body, as she is bleeding out slowly, Braum tries to help her, wrapping the wound, Jinx pulling out the bullet, Braum throws Mononoke over his shoulder.
"I'll get her out of here! Talon, Jinx, just run! Let's go!" His voice is a strong roar, and they flee, getting the others... and the chase is on...
CLIFFIE! GOT YOU! I DID IT! Sorry for the MIA! No pings no wards, so where did our little cat go? The little cat has been busy with school and preparing for another fic!
