DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN SHIT. EXCEPT SCARLET/KATHERINE, THE PLOT, AVRILL AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE OTHER DIMENSION THAT'S AN OC.
Katherine
Katherine can feel something seeping beneath her skin's pores and mixing with her blood. Its not just simply squeezing her, its doing something to her internally. Scarlet can feel her vocal cords vibrate, which means they're making sound, she doesn't remember screaming.
Things start to go by in a blur, the world doesn't fade away, but instead becomes indecipherable. Katherine can't seem to make out any figures or people, she can't even feel time passing by.
That's when something proceeds to go into the depths of her mind that she rather leaves untouched.
•
Katherine can feel the ground underneath her, its cold, its hard, and it hurts. She feels her eyes open and looks around, its dark and her eyes can't adjust. Her head feels like its spinning and she feels her stomach starts to heave, before she knew it, the contents of what she last ate is now all over the ground.
The vile taste in her mouth lingers as she attempts to wipe away anything left on her lips. When the sickness starts to fade, her eyes adjust, Katherine thought she'd never see this place ever again.
It's the lab that she was last in before she woke up in that alley in Gotham City. She wipes a hand down her face checking to make sure that this isn't an illusion, sure enough, she isn't dreaming. Standing up off the ground, she treks across the room to hit the lights, when she feels the switch under her hand, she flicks it up. The lights flicker on and Katherine rapidly blinks to let her eyes, once again, readjust.
When she takes a moment to inspect her surroundings, it surprises her that no time has passed in her dimension. The fire under the beaker stills burns, the papers and even her bag still rests on the table. For a brief moment, she wonders if her experience in the comic book world was at all real, or was it just a figment of her imagination, her fantasy dreams taking her to a fictitious place.
She sighs and heads back to the stool that is placed in front of the lab table, but before she completely reaches the stool, she feels something under her foot. Stepping away, she notices that it's the AP syringe that she had injected herself with. Picking it up, Katherine inspects it closely, looking at it, she realizes that its completely empty, every last drop inside the needle is gone. Taking another moment to look at it, she analyzes that she did actually go to an alternate universe.
How? She isn't sure, but the AP has definitely the right chemical combinations in it. Continuing to sit down at the table, she places the syringe to the side, its interesting really, she didn't take into account her clothing. Katherine just so happens to look to her lap noticing that the clothing she wore last time in her home dimension wasn't red and yellow spandex armor. Standing up, she realizes – and confirms – that her escapade wasn't a figment of her imagination.
Realizing that, she quickly got back to work analyzing every chemical compound in the AP, she felt addicted to go back, like the AP was a drug. In some parts of her mind, that kind of scares.
After noting the chemical compound that she had used for that specific AP drug that she put into her, she started to pack up. If she remembers correctly, its still the middle of class. She can't be seen in red and yellow superhero spandex! Someone's really going to think she is crazy.
Katherine doubled checks everything in her backpack, she clearly remembers it back at the Wayne Manor. Then again, she has to remind herself that the backpack she's holding now is an alternate version of the backpack at the Manor. She has to shake her head, this is beyond science, this is beyond the imagination… She starts to wonder if she's just going mad in general.
She thinks while she's packing her supplies and paperwork, she thinks about Grayson, about Roy, and even about Whisperer. That's right, Whisperer. The psycho maniac shadow freak that had 'brought' her back to her alternate world. She just hopes that he's not hurting the team, her team, in anyway.
However, if her calculations are correct – which they generally always are – then time is at a standstill in every other dimension for her. So technically, the entire time she was in comic book central, reality as she knows it was frozen in time. That's how Katherine knows that it's the same time as it was when she first injected herself with the chemical.
Theoretically, she's an AP traveler. She believes that she's exactly like Whisperer in a way, he's an AP traveler, a person who's 'stuck' between alternate universes. Katherine can't confirm it because there's no AP residue that's left behind when she switches universes, but she still considers that her theory holds strong due to the cause of 'frozen time' in this reality.
She has to shake off her thoughts however, when there's too much thinking put into it, the AP has a way to twist your mind's knowledge about it. That's where the imaginational part of it comes into play.
After she finishes packing all her lab supplies, she needs to dress into something else, anything else other than this. Quickly looking around the lab, she finds a few lab aprons or coats hanging on the wall. It wouldn't be her first choice for a cover up, but it'll have to do. She pulls it off the peg and onto her shoulders, it hangs to her calves only exposing her combat-no friction boots. It's good enough, its not like anyone's going to look down at her feet and suspect something's wrong, besides class is still in session.
She pulls the bag over her shoulder and bolts out the door, everything seems to be moving in slow motion, Katherine slows down looking at everything. Her mind snaps and realizes what's going on, her AP abilities have traveled back with her. It can't be right, she's done all the calculations herself, she checked it more than ten times, should be no error in her data. All signs points that AP powers only stay in one dimension. But somehow, her accidental speed changed dimensions too.
Deciding to use the powers to help benefit herself, she hones the energy and takes off to her apartment, the world seeming to be moving at the pace of a snail.
•
Katherine quickly pulls out the key from her bag and rushes inside, normally, before anyone could see her. Slamming the door behind her, she hears car alarms going off, water gushing, house alarms blaring, people shouting. What's that all about? She rounds the corner into the small living space and looks out the window. "Oh no…" she breathes out, pure shock and horror.
Before her is destruction that was left in her wake. Unlike the alternate reality, her speeds will destroy anything in its path. There's a two foot deep crevice in the pavement, cars are flipped, fire hydrants are gushing, people on the ground. It's a mess and it stops right before her apartment building. "No, no, no, no, no…" She recites before pulling out her notebook, after flipping to a new page, she shuffles around her bag for a writing utensil, after she found one, she uses her speed to write down calculations and draw diagrams. When she finished in a few seconds, everything in the room was thrown around, everything with the exception of large items.
Katherine looks back down at the observations and calculations, according to her findings, the powers in this dimension will have a different effect on her surroundings than the alternate universe. "Ok, time to get to work." She has to get back to the alternate world, not only because she has to help and that she likes it there, but because there's this mental pull that's dragging her. Its almost calling out to her its so strong.
Taking her bag to the small dining table for two, she starts her work.
•
Seven hours pass and Katherine's exhausted, she's finally completed the AP drug duplicate. Like her first time injecting herself with the drug, she takes a syringe and takes fifty units of the AP.
Katherine remembers falling off the stool the first time, so she gets off the dinning chair, and walks over to the couch with the needle. Sitting herself down and then laying on her back, she takes the needle to the veins in her wrist. She flinches slightly at the sharp object, but knows that the process of the merging stage between blood and AP will feel like you're going through hell.
She drops the syringe to the ground and that when everything hits her, it feels like she's being torn apart, her body feels like its failing, her muscles contracting so much, they might rip. It didn't feel this bad last time, she swears.
•
Katherine's eyes fly open, its like she pressed the resume button to a movie, everything is just as she left it, it takes her a few seconds to comprehend it. It also takes her a few moments to realize that there's a new feeling of power flowing through her.
She looks down and see Whisperer with his fist in the air looking at her with a satisfied smirk. That's when she feels the pressure around her neck, her hands shoot up to the source. She tries to grab at it, but her hand touches her neck, its shadows that are grabbing her. "Scarlet!" She hears a male voice scream. It's slowly starting to feel like her eyes are going to pop out of her head.
Katherine raises a hand and channels the newfound energy flowing through her, she shoots he arm out towards Whisperer and then suddenly, he flies off his feet and onto the ground. The shadows release her and she stumbles to the ground on her knees coughing. Her throat hurts and she needs to get out of here. Whisperer is still on the ground and she needs to move while she can. "Scarlet! Jump!" she turns her head over to the voice, its Grayson and Wally, the speedster's knocked out cold, but Grayson is at the edge shouting at her.
She slowly gets up, the world is spinning probably due to lack of oxygen to her brain. She checks if her powers are not suppressed by moving her hand, its not so she takes a few steps back and runs as fast as she can towards the ledge. She pushes off the edge and she floats for a few seconds, she feels herself descending, but she still reaches for the edge. She feels herself hit the ledge just a few inches short of grabbing it, but before she starts to fall, someone snatches her wrists. Katherine look up and sees Grayson heaving her over the rim.
"Come on, Kat, we're getting out of here." he says sounding too confident and overly enthusiastic when saying that.
She scrambles over and slowly stand up, Grayson lets one arm go, but holds on tightly to the other. "Let's go." He says with Katherine in toll. She follows as fast as she can, the exhaustion is slowly catching up with her. Between being working on another clone of the AP for seven hours straight in her reality, and fighting before that, she's exhausted, hungry, and thirsty. She hasn't slept in over twenty four hours, her last meal felt like ages ago and she hasn't had water in forever. She can feel the faint coming.
Grayson swoops down and swiftly picks up the unconscious Wally and slings him over his shoulder. They continue to run when the Batwing hovers down to a few feet dropping a ladder. Dick pushes Katherine first, so goes and stumbles on a few steps, but makes it up to the plane's cargo holder without hurting herself or anyone else.
The moment she hit the inside of the jet, she knew she's going to be safe, that's when she could relax.
She felt the floor beneath her.

Slap. A Sharp tingling sensation stings on her cheek, "Ow…" She rubs it to hopefully diminish the pain. She slowly opens her eyes and sees a much unpleasant Nightwing. "Did you just bitch slap me?" she makes an astonished face, he doesn't flinch, "Why didn't you tell me."
After Katherine's satisfied that the tingling goes away, she gives him a dumbfounded look, "Tell you what?" It came out a little more harsh then she intended to.
Slap. Another hit to the cheek, "What the fuck?" she holds her face, the hit feels especially harder. "I asked you; why didn't you tell me." He narrows his eyes at her, the Batglare leaking from his features. She really doesn't know what he's talking about. Roy steps up from behind Nightwing, "He's talking about being an AP traveler. Why, Kat?" For a second, she thinks that she hears sympathy – or is it pity – in his voice.
"I had no idea, you have to believe me." She tries to convince them, Grayson has that disgusted look on his face, like she's road kill on the side of the street that the has to clean up. Roy has a pitied expression, like he wants to help her, but he knows he can't. "Flash's dead because of you." The words sting more than any hit to the face, any punch to the guts, it hurt.
Grayson bends down to look in her face, she can't look him in the eyes, her soul might whither and die. He tries to catch her gaze, but when he can't he takes a rough hand under her chin. "He's dead." He spats at her, but she still can't bring herself to hate him.
"Wing, she's had enough." He rests a hand on his shoulder. To Katherine, the words are all starting to mush together. She couldn't prevent Barry's death, Wally's probably going to die too, soon. The comic books are playing out their story lines, just not following the same plot.
"Don't touch me." Grayson snaps as he shoves Roy's hand off his shoulder. He proceeds to briskly walk out of the – she actually isn't sure where's she is – room.
She rubs her hand across her face, when had this become so complicated?
