Hey guys, just wanted to wish you all a Happy New year! Hope 2017 treats us all well haha.
June pouted and stuck out her tongue in a childish way.
"I never want kids, I'll probably adopt, like Bats!"
"You'll probably think differently later on in life." Caitlin told her. June cocked an eyebrow.
"Doubt it."
~With the guys~
"Seriously Bart! You're just encouraging her!" Jason said as he threw his arms up in the air. Bart looked at him with a confused look once again.
"But why cant she have her hair dyed though?"
"That's not what we're talking about." Dick said, his tone slightly amused.
"We mean that you're whipped." Jason said bluntly.
"I am not!"
"You really are ese." Jaime told him. Bart looked at him.
"You should be talking. You're whipped too."
"Hermano, I'm married and have two kids. I have an excuse. You, on the other hand, are thirteen and just dating her."
"Oh please. Caitlin just gives you a look and you do whatever she wants." Bart said. Jaime looked at him.
"Same way with you man. But she puts on the innocent look." Jaime replied.
"Well it's a cute look." Bart defended, blushing slightly.
"Dude, that's beside the point." Jaime sighed.
"Boys, boys, boys." A new voice said, "You're all whipped by your girlfriends." The guys turned to see Barbra standing in the door way. She laughed.
"C'mon, you guys cannot disagree with me. Dick, remember when Zatanna was having her time of the month and she started to cry when you wouldn't hand over your ice cream?" Dick flushed, recalling the incident. It had not been his finest moment.
"I was weak!" Dick exclaimed.
"Yeah right." Barbra said. She then turned to Jaime.
"And don't think I don't remember your 'weak' moment either." Barbra said as Jaime blushed a little. It wasn't his best moment either.
"Now June is going to redye her hair. And Caitlin left to go buy more diapers for the kids." Barbra said as she turned and left the room. Bart sighed, and ran to catch up with his girlfriend. Jaime went to the Mountain's new nursery to check on the twins.
"Hey June!" Bart slowed down and put a hand on her shoulder as he caught up with her. She smiled at him.
"Hey Bart, wanna help ick out two colors for me?" He couldn't help it.
"Sure!" While they walks, Bart finally noticed something strange about June.
"did- did you paint your nails?" June groaned.
"I've been meaning to borrow Jen's nail polish remover. These won't chip off! I think Caitlin put seventeen coats on it!"
"Haha but it looks cute." Bart said with a smile. June looked at him with a look of horror.
"What? Not crash enough?"
"You're just like Cay!" She said. She then ran off to find nail polish remover. Bart chuckled as he followed her.
"How about this?" June asked, showing Bart a scarlet colored one.
"I like it." He said truthfully. "It should go with gold." June started giggling.
"Gryffindor colors!" She said in a happy voice.
"Oh geez.." Bart sighed as he imagined June with those two colors in her hair. He had to admit, it would look great but having it relate to Harry Potter was something else.
"What?" June asked, looking at him.
"Nothing, nothing."
"Well, would they look good on me?" She asked. Bart thought about it. "Definitely."
"You better not be just saying that." She told him threateningly. Bart laughed, "I swear."
"On the Marauder's Map."
"On the what now?" June frowned at his response.
"It's like you didn't watch the third movie." Bart shifted uncomfortably. When she had watched it with him, he has fallen asleep and June has been too engrossed in the movie to notice.
"Uh, I remember now." June nodded approvingly.
"Okay." She pecked his cheek and jogged to the front of the store to pay for the dyes. Bart sighed. Okay maybe he was just a little whipped. Guess he was just like the other guys. But he had to admit, Jaime was more whipped than the others. Bart got out of his train of though and walked to the front of the store, seeing June waiting for him.
"Come on. I want to get started with my hair." She said as she held out her hand for him.
"Got it." He said as he walked over to her and taking her hand. They walked out of the store and headed towards the zeta tubes.
"I need to do it at the cave because Bruce and Alfred will catch me dying my hair." June explained.
"You know they'll see it eventually." Bart said, looking confused.
"Yeah I know, but by the time they see it; my hair will already be dyed and they wont be able to do anything but scowl and complain." June explained.
"You are a sneaky little girl." June grinned, kissing him.
"I know, you love it."
"That I do."
"Alright, here we go." June said as they walked into an ally and opened up an old phone booth. They walked into the zeta tube and appeared in the cave. June rushed towards the bathroom to start dying her hair as Bart headed towards the living room.
Fifteen minutes later, June stepped out of the bathroom and into the living room, grinning happily as she joined Bart on the couch.
"Nice! But even dyes cant make you more beautiful than you already are." Bart complimented, smiling as he winked flirtatiously. June's cheeks blossomed, stammering out a reply, unable to form words. Bart smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her.
"So how long will the dye last?"
"About a month or two. Depending on how fast it fades."
"Got it." They sat like that for only a few minutes until Jason and Caitlin walked in.
"June!" They groaned in unison. June looked at them, smirking.
"Why do you guys care? I'm the one who gets yelled at."
"Yeah, but then Bruce complains about how I didn't stop you and how Jason gave you the idea." Caitlin gestured to the single white streak in Jason's hair. June grinned, "You'll live."
"Oh whatever June." Caitlin said as she turned and walked out of the room. June looked at Jason with a confused look.
"What's up with her?"
"She couldn't find the diapers she needed at the store so she had to go find another place that had them, who charged it a couple dollars more than the other store, and it just pissed her off." Jason said as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Awe. How's Scarlett?" She asked as she smirked. Jason turned pink as June giggled.
"I totally have to meet the one girl who makes you blush."
"June..."
"She can come over for dinner!" She said in a cheerful voice.
"June..."
"What?" Jason just shook his head, heading to the kitchen. June pouted, and trailed after her big brother.
"C'mon Jay!" Suddenly their coms rang in unison. Jason and June exchanged looks and checked the com.
"Shit.." June muttered.
"What?" Bart asked, looking his shoulder over at June and Jason.
"Arkham breakout." Jason said, his demeanor changing, "Nightwing twisted his ankle pretty bad on the last mission, Robin has a minor concussion, and Batman is off world." "
That leaves you and me." June nodded at her brother.
"Yeah it does. Come on." Jason said. As they were leaving, they saw Jaime holding Victoria.
"Where are you guys going?" Jaime asked.
"There was a break out in Gotham." June said.
"Let me or Cay know if you need any help." Jaime said. The siblings nodded and went through the zeta tubes and entered the batcave.
"Alright, number one priority: Joker and Harley." June said, putting her mask on and turning to Bruce's chair at the Bat-computer.
"In Gotham Theater. Disrupting a play by spreading laughing gas everywhere." Jason pointed at the screen.
"What about the others?"
"Staying low." Jason said.
"Then let's go." The two rushed to their bikes and rode to the theater through the busy streets of Gotham. When they arrived at the theater, they entered through the roof skylight and dropped smoke bombs down.
"Look who decided to join us Harley!" Jokers voice rang out once the smoke died down, revealing the two bats. Jason and June were instantly on their guards when Joker and Harley came into view.
"Looks like they want to play pudding!" Harley said with a large smile on her face, just like the Jokers. June drew her bow, but before she could fire, something smacked her from behind.
"Phoenix!" Jason growled, seeing his sister getting hit in the pressure point of her neck by a familiar golden cane.
"Riddler.."
"I am flora, not thauna. I am foliage, not trees. What am I?" Riddler twirled his staff. "I..." Phoenix groaned, pushing herself up while glaring at the villain.
"Am bush." She said.
"Correct!" Riddler yelled. June got up and rubbed the back of her neck.
"You know Riddler, you should probably get some new riddles. The current ones are getting old." She said as she grabbed her bow from the ground. Of course it had been an ambush. June nearly hit herself for not realizing it sooner. All the villains were teaming up together. Joker, Riddler, and-
Suddenly, gas filled the room. And it wasn't Joker gas.
"Phoenix-" Jason warned, grabbing his rebreather. June scrambled for hers, letting Riddler slammed his staff into her shoulder, knocking her into the wall. She had no choice but to breathe in the gas.
"I hope you like my new creation." Scarecrow appeared in the room. June groaned, shaking her head to clear it as she looked around. Her eyes widened in terror, and she began screaming and whimpering.
"Phoenix..." Jason shot two X shurikens at Riddler, pinning him to the wall. He dodged Harley's hammer and kicked her down. He knelt next to Phoenix, who began thrashing. She looked absolutely terrified.
"Fear gas...shit." Jason growled, hands flying for the cure injection he always kept around. He injected it in Phoenix's arm, but nothing seemed to happen.
"You didn't think I'd use the same formula as before?" Scarecrow asked, mockingly. Jason ignored him, instead taking out a different needle and sedating June. Her horror filled eyes closed and she fell unconscious. He needed to get out of here.
"Going somewhere?" A female voice said. Jason turned to face Poison Ivy. She smiled at him, leaned over and kissed his cheek. Jason froze, completely under the pores' influence.
"Good boy." She cooed, "Take the girl and tie her up. We'll be waiting for the Bat." Jason had no choice but to do what Ivy said. He grabbed June and tied her up. There had to be a way to call for help. He knew Tim was out along with Dick, Jaime could help along with Cay, but she had to stay with the twins. What was he going to do? There was always Batgirl...but what would one person do against every villain known to Gotham? Even Batman would have trouble. He really hated Poison Ivy's spores. They affected men just as well as Queen Bee. He had to watch helplessly as his body obeyed Ivy's every whim. June was still asleep, but Jason knew the fear gas was causing her nightmares. He didn't know exactly what her worst fear was, but he had a pretty good idea of it. And he knew that he had to get her the antidote quickly. He needed to hurry but he couldn't because of the spores. What was he going to do? He has to break free somehow.
Jason inwardly groaned as he saw June beginning to murmur in her sleep, thrashing in the chair that he was forced to tie her too. Jason mentally clenched his fists. He had seen plenty of times how the fear gas affected people...and what it would end up doing if the cure wasn't injected into them in time. No matter how many times he's seen it, it never got easier.
"I'm sorry...go away!" June whispered, tears rolling down her cheeks as she thrashed from the endless nightmare. Jason couldn't help but wonder what exactly she was dreaming about.
