"Yeah I'm fine. Where did Cay go? I wanted to see if she wants to watch a movie tonight." June said with a big grin.
"Bed room." Tim said simply. June nodded. She figured she was going to have to ask later. June then put her head on Bart's shoulder and continued eating her chocolate bar. After finishing the chocolate bar, and wrapped Jason and Tim into a huge hug. Both looked a bit uncomfortable, neither being used to close contact. Dick entered, and he looked crestfallen slightly.
"I-I missed out on the hug?" He pouted. June giggled and held her arm out even more. Dick grinned and crushed the three of them in a hug.
"Ok I'm starting to get hurt now." Tim said. June giggled. Bruce smiled knowing that he wasn't apart of the 'hug train' anymore. He walked over to his chair and sat down. Just them Alfred walked in with the twins in each arm followed by Cass, Stephanie and Damian.
"June, are you alright?" Stephanie asked, bouncing over to them.
"I'm fine," June put on a very false smile, mentally thinking of what the fear gas caused her to see. How Dr. Crane did that, she may never know. She turned her attention back to the TV. The others then found spots on the couch and floor and began to watch TV. After awhile, Caitlin walked downstairs and walked into the living room. Everyone looked over and noticed how messy her hair was and that she was wearing one of Jaime's shirts with shorts on.
"Do we want to know?" Jason asked.
"It depends if you do." She said as she leaned against the door frame.
"As long as you don't get pregnant again." Dick muttered.
"Did you use protection?" June asked, "I'd rather not have another niece or nephew." Caitlin threw her a dirty look, "I am not answering that question."
"That is generally a yes.
"Do you guys have a problem with me and Jaime?!" Caitlin snapped. Everyone quickly looked at her.
"Cay calm down. We didn't mean it like that." Dick said. Caitlin turned and left the room, then went back upstairs. Everyone looked at each other with confusion.
"Is she ok?" Tim asked.
"She's probably just PMSing." Jason said. Everyone agreed knowing that it was probably true. June tugged on Bart's sleeve. The two left and headed towards June's room.
"Hey wanna play a game?" June asked. Bart looked at her suspiciously.
"What game?"
"Jason bought a new video game and said it was awesome, I want to try it." Her eye widened with innocence.
"Alright...what game?"
"Slender."
"What's that game?"
"Don't know. My friend told me its really fun though." June shrugged. Bart put his hand up to his chin and began to think.
"Alright." He agreed with a smile.
"Yes! I'll go get the game and you turn my computer on." She said. Bart nodded. Once June left the room, he turned the computer on and logged in. June then came back with the game.
"Lets pop this baby in and play!" June said. They each put on the head phones and began playing.
"Alright, piece of cake." Bart grinned, "Just ten pieces of paper." June nodded, and made the character turn around and began walking.
"My friend told me its the background music that does most of the scaring." June told him.
"Well let's make sure it doesn't get to us." Bart said. After awhile they managed to get 3 pieces of paper. All of a sudden the screen started to get all the stategy.
"What's going on?" June asked as she turned her character around. Just then a man in a suit with a white body, no face and long tentical like arms appeared behind her character,
"No! No! No no no no!" June said as she tried to get away from him. Just then the screen got more stategy and slender man appeared on the screen but closer. Bart screamed like a little girl.
"TURN AWAY!" He screamed. June yelped and began making her character run. When the screen returned back to normal, the couple breathed sighs of relief.
"Thank god."
"Could you have screamed any louder Bart? I don't think Metropolis heard you enough." June said. Bart looked at her.
"I'm only kidding Bart." She said with a smile. He then put his arm around her shoulders again.
"Alright, lets keep looking for the notes." Bart swallowed nervously. June looked at him teasingly.
"I don't suppose you're scared?" She asked with a taunting voice. Bart puffed up, "Of course not!" June stifled a giggle, "Sure." She moved her characters into the building, getting the creeps. They searched the labyrinth thoroughly and found one note, and then confronted by Slender man again.
"HOLY SHIT! GET AWAY FROM HIM!"
"I'm trying!" June quickly managed to get away from Slender Man. But after a couple minutes in the game, the flashlight died.
"No! I need that!" June said as she desperately tried to find her way around. Then all of a sudden the screen went strategy again. June and Bart jumped out of their seats and landed on the floor.
"I'm done with this game!" June said as the game went back to the menu. The two lapsed in silence for a minute before looking at each other.
"Wanna play again?"
"Yeah!" June and Bart grinned and began playing again.
"Hey guys!"
"AHHHH!" They both screamed. June jumped into her boyfriend's arms, cared beyond hell. Caitlin looked at them like they were nuts.
"Ummm...okay? Well dinner's ready."
"Got it." June sad. Her and Bart got up from her desk and walked downstairs with Caitlin. When they got down to the dinner table, Jaime was holding Victoria while Bruce was holding Andrew.
"Here you go Caitlin." Bruce said as he handed her Andrew.
"Did you have fun with grandpa Alfred?" She asked Andrew who giggled back at her.
"I'll take that as a yes." Jaime said. Jason put a hand on June's shoulder as he walked by her. She screamed and freaked out, causing everyone to turn and look at them in surprise.
"Uh, June, are you okay? You and Bart look like you saw a ghost." Tim said looking at them from across the table.
"Um, something like that." Bart muttered. Jason narrowed his eyes at them, before the realization dawned on him.
"Did you two play my slender game?"
"Noo..." June said with a bad poker face. Jason looked at her with a suspicious look.
"June."
"Okay maybe." She said. Caitlin looked at her with wide eyes.
"June! That game could give you nightmares. Remember when we watched Insidious? You couldn't sleep for weeks." Caitlin said as June groaned.
"Yeah but I was told it was fun." She said.
"Whatever June. Don't come crying to me when you get nightmares." June pouted.
"Bart, can I run to you tonight?" She asked with a pouty face. Bart blushed, but nodded enthusiastically.
"Yeah! I wont mind." Bart said as June stuck her tongue out at the others.
"At least she didn't grab Amnesia." Jason sighed as he started eating.
"What's that game?"
"Don't even tell her what that game is." Caitlin said as June pouted once again. Bruce sighed and looked at his youngest daughter.
"Don't even think about it June. Now eat your broccoli." Bruce said.
"No its gross!"
"Just eat t." Jason said as he took a bite of his food. Bart grinned and began scarfing down his food. June passed him her leftovers. He kissed her cheek and finished her broccoli.
"The good thing about having a garbage disposal as a boyfriend." June giggled.
"Oh so that's what I am now?" He said with a grin. June looked at him and smiled. After dinner was over, everyone went back to what they were doing. Caitlin and Jaime took the tins to the living room to play, Tim went back to his book, Jason went back up to his room to study while Dick and the others went back to watching TV.
"Wanna play Slender again?" June said as Jason appeared out of nowhere.
"No way!' He grabbed the game from June's laptop and ran off back to his room. June pouted. Bart smiled nervously, a little relived that they couldn't play the game.
"So what do you want to do?" June asked.
"You'll have to figure that out for yourself since I got patrol with Flash tonight. I'll call you when its over. See ya." He said as he kissed the top of her head and zoomed off. June sighed and got up. She put her headphones on and sat on the roof outside her window. She hummed to herself as Green Day turned on.
"Never took you as a Green Day kind of person." A voice said. June jumped in her seat and looked at person who the voice belonged to with shock. It was Hunter.
"What are you doing here?" She asked. He shrugged.
"Just running around." He said. He then plopped himself down next to her. June looked at him with a confused look.
"What's wrong?" He asked, looking at her.
"You have a habit of showing up unexpectedly. And whenever I'm out here. It's like you're stalking me!" June narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. Hunter rolled his eyes.
"I'm not, believe me. I just have good timing."
"Mmhmm." She said disbelievingly.
"I don't spend my time stalking people! Honest!" He said. June continued to looked at him with a suspicious look. After a couple seconds, she let it go. She sighed and took her headphones out of her ears.
"So what brings you here?" She asked.
"Just wanted to hang out." He said shrugging.
"Where do you live anyways?" June asked curiously.
"An old building in downtown Gotham." His face twisted into a grimace.
"At least its not East Side." She commented.
"Yeah, that wouldn't be fun...So has any of your siblings lived on East Side?" He asked.
"Yeah, Jason did for awhile."
"I bet that wasn't fun at all." He said as June nodded. The two then began to look at Gotham city as the busy street lights play out. June subconsciously leaned on his shoulder.
"What have you been up to lately?" She asked.
"Nothing much." He said, "Put down the suit for a while." June tried to hide a smile at that.
"You know, you'd do well as a hero." Hunter scoffed slightly.
"I don't think so. I'm not really the type."
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yeah, there are different types of people for this kind of thing. there's villains, hero's and sidekicks." He explained.
"I think you would fall under the hero type." She said. He looked at her in surprise, as if trying to figure out if she was lying or not.
"You really think so?"
"You're better than villains, Hunt." She told him firmly.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah really." She looked at him with a smile. He smiled back at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. They continued to sit there for a bit. After a few minutes, Hunter looked at her.
"You should take your own advice."
"Huh?"
"You're more powerful then you let on. You IQ is equivalent to a college student studying at Harvard or Yale."
"How would you- oh, stalker, I forgot."
"I'm not - you know what, whatever. I mean, you could get whatever you want as a villain. You have the skills and brains to-"
"Kill?" June asked, looking him in the eye. "I might. I'm skilled enough to kill them. I'm smart enough not to get caught. But I have the opposite amount of willpower to kill as a Green Lantern."
"June-"
"No, Hunter, that's final." She said quietly. Hunter looked at her and felt like he said the wrong thing. Man he really wasn't good at this with this kind of topic.
"So...how's the family doing?" He asked, trying to change the subject.
"They're good. Crazy but good." She said as Hunter smiled.
"Crazy how?"
"Caitlin and Jaime at taking care of the twins- they're teething. Jason started college courses, and everyone thing he and his new girlfriend are gonna have sex."
"Jason's going to college?!" June hid a giggle; that's what Hunter go out of it.
"And we're all trying to get Bruce to pop the question to Selina."
"Really? How's that working out?"
"We don't know yet. It's been a challenge."
"That's interesting. How old are the twins?"
"About 3 months old. Since Cay is a meta human, the twins develop a bit faster than regular babies." June explained.
"What?"
"Yeah, I swear they can crawl already."
"Wow...amazing." Hunter said , "I wanna see how a baby with super speed would grow up." June and Hunter lapsed in silence before Hunter turned bright red.
"I mean- uh- you know- that's not what I mean."
"Let's just leave it at that, ok?" June said, looking at him. Hunter nodded in agreement. They stayed silent for awhile.
"So how's your boyfriend?"
"Good. He just left like an hour ago."
"Ah. Patrol?"
"Yeah. I wish I was on patrol tonight.
"Why aren't you?"
"Bruce is paranoid. He, and the others, are insisting that I need rest."
"From what?"
"Had a run in with Scarecrow and his famous fear gas." June grimaced.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine. Everyone gets too crazy when this happens to me. Like if I get his by fear gas, Caitlin gets me to sleep in her room." June said. Hunter smiled.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, its annoying." June scoffed. Hunter smiled sadly.
"I would love for someone to be overbearing of me."
"I'm not enough?" June asked jokingly which caused Hunter to laugh.
"I guess you are." Hunter said in a jokingly tone. Just then, someone knocked on June's door. June turned to Hunter and he sighed.
"Your brother already knows we hang out." He said.
"Yeah but for right now, I'll see you at school." She said. He nodded and disappeared into the shadows. June went back into her room and opened the door.
"What do you want Tim?"
"Bruce has something to tell us." He said. June nodded and followed him down to the living room. In the living room, Bruce was pacing back and forth nervously.
"Bruce, what's got you so nervous?" Stephanie asked curiously.
"Well, I'm not completely sure how to say it. Feel free to object at any time because I'm still not completely sure how it'll go down-"
"Bruce spit it out." Dick said.
"Okay well-"
"He and Selina are getting hitched." June cut in. Everyone turned to her in shock.
"How on earth could you possibly deduce that?" Caitlin asked incredulously.
"Well, the only thing Bruce has ever been nervous about are females." June explained, "You're looking at us for advice on how to propose; specifically Jason and Jaime who had planned Caitlin's proposal. Not to mention your left hand has been twitching towards your pocket, where you already have put the ring." June finished. Everyone looked at her with shocked looks.
"My word.." Alfred said.
"Wow.." Jaime said. Even Bruce was shocked, even though he was the one who trained her.
"How did you..."
"I'm just smart like that." June said with a smug smile.
"Translation: She's been watching Sherlock again." Caitlin hid a smile. June shrugged.
"Whatever works."
'You're gonna ask Selina to marry you?" Stephanie asked excitedly.
"Yes." Bruce said simply. All the girls started to aw, while the guys clapped.
"Why are you clapping?" Bruce asked his sons with confusion.
"Because your finally going to pop the question." Dick said with a smile on his lips. Bruce smiled as he rolled his eyes.
"I knew it! I knew it!" June sang.
"I approve, Father." Damian said.
"Thank you Damian." Bruce said as he ruffled his biological sons hair. Damian quickly fixed his hair the second Bruce stopped ruffling his hair.
"Father it takes me 10 minutes to do my hair." Damian said.
"Dami, that's longer than me." June giggled. "Just barely shorter than Jay."
"Hey! It takes me a while for it to be this perfect." Jason glared, running a hand through his 'perfect' hair.
"Oh yeah, your hair sure is special. Don't get this guy started on his hair." Caitlin said as she pointed to Jaime, who was sitting on the couch next to her.
"Hey! My hair is beautiful."
"Yeah sure. Whatever floats your boat. Caitlin said. Jaime then took Andrew from her and gave her Victoria.
"Both of our hair is beautiful." Jaime said as he held his son up next to him.
"Yeah sure Jaime." June said with a smile. She walked over to him and took Andrew. She then sat down on the floor and laid Andrew on his back in front of her.
"So when are you popping the question?" Dick asked.
"When I see her next time." Bruce said.
"See who next time?" A voice asked. Selina leaned against the doorframe casually holding a grey cat. Damian stood up and took the kitten out of her hand before sitting back down as if nothing happened. June smirked, leaned over towards Bruce and nudged her father.
"Reay ouyay oppingpay hetay uestionqay?" She giggled.
"Onay." He glared.
"What are you guys saying?" Stephanie asked with a confused look on her face.
"Never mind." Bruce said. He walked over to Selina and took her into a different room.
"Aw! I wanted to see the proposal!" June said as she pouted.
"We'll watch through the security cameras!" Dicks exclaimed.
"To the Batcave!" Jason shouted. The Batkids rushed down the elevator and to the huge Bat computer. The kids wrestled briefly for the chair before Dick triumphed and plopped down.
"Why do you get the chair?" Caitlin asked.
"Because I'm the oldest." Dick said as he turned the camera on. They then worked their way to find the right camera. When they got to the right camera, they saw that Bruce and Selina were in Bruce's study.
"So what do you have to talk to me about?" Selina asked as she sat in the chair in front of his desk. Bruce started to look even more nervous.
"He's gonna chicken." June muttered.
"No way!" Jason argued.
"Shhh!" Everyone hissed at the two.
"Five buck?" June whispered. Jason nodded and they all returned their attentions to the screen.
"I-I was going to ask if you wanted to come to the beach with us tomorrow!" Bruce said, swallowing. Jason sighed and handed June the money.
"Damn." He said quietly.
"Sure, I'd love to." Selina said. Bruce smiled and kissed her cheek. Dick quickly turned the screen off so him and his siblings didn't have to see Bruce kiss Selina.
"That was a waste of time." Tim said. Everyone then agreed with him.
"I know you guys bet on everything, but this? Really?" Stephanie asked as she turned to Jason and June. The two nodded.
