First and foremost, I'm extremely sorry that this was a day late. Yesterday I was gone most of the time, and then completely forgot about it the rest. I will try not to let this happen again. -Falconface
Father's Day
With the Ultimate Hotdog Eating Trials over, Jaypaw, Lionpaw, Hollypaw, Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, and all the others left on their epic adventure. Of course they had to leave on Father's Day, in which all the toms were upset because they missed out on all the fun-ness.
As it turns out, the mothers and everyone else at camp, refused to listen to any of the father's requests, so instead the toms went camping.
Of course, around this time, the journeying cats were totally lost, because Brambleclaw 'misplaced' the map. "It's left!" Insisted Jayfeather.
"That's sundrown place!" Squirrelflight screeched. "You'll fall right off a cliff!"
"Then let's go back that way!" Suggested Lionpaw.
"That's the way we came." Growled Breezepaw. "We'll just end up back at the lake!"
"Never too late to retrace your steps! Besides, I smell hotdogs that way!" Lionpaw meowed cheerfully.
"Enough with the hotdogs..." Hollypaw groaned, looking pale. She had come in second place during the trials.
Suddenly a black beast wondered in front of them, almost completely ignoring the group. "Midnight!" Tawnypelt called at the badger.
"Hmm?" She inquired, pausing for a second.
"How do we get to the tribe?" The warrior asked.
She hesitated, clearly thinking hard. "To the water that falls from stone, seek a tree all alone. The lowest branch will point to the rock hill, the rest is up to your own will."
"That sounds more like a prophecy than directions." Squirrelflight grumbled.
"That not prophecy. This prophecy." Midnight took a deep breath and became speaking really fast. "Fire alone will save the Clan. Four will become two, lion and tiger will meet in battle, and blood will rules the forest. Darkness, air, water, and sky will come together, and shake the forest to it's roots. Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red. There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws. After the sharp-eyed jay and the roaring lion, peace will come, on dove's gentle wing. The end of the stars draws near. Three must become four, to battle the darkness that lasts forever." All this was completed in one breath, and was over before anyone could understand it.
After a long pause, Jaypaw finally asked, "What?"
But Midnight had already vanished in a puff of pixie dust.
...
Somewhere in unknown territory where the fathers were camped out...
...
"Well, this sucks." Dustpelt sighed, swinging around a fishing pole. Many other toms nodded in agreement. RiverClan was the only one who was having fun, but even that was wearing off. All the fathers watched lazily as a giant whale burst out of the small lake, and ate Firestar, before disappearing again. "I wish something interesting would happen." Mumbled Dustpelt.
...
Back at BloodClan...
...
"We're totally lost." Mumbled Breezepaw.
"I told you it was that other tree." Grumbled Tawnypelt.
"I still insist we should have gone left." Hissed Jaypaw.
"I can kill you, if that would help!" Shouted Scourge gleefully.
"No thanks." They all muttered together.
"Then here's a map, so we have no hard feelings." The BloodClan leader handed them a map.
"Sweet." Brambleclaw meowed, then ate it.
"Dang." Jaypaw held no particular enthusiasm. "There goes the world."
"Nooooo!" Squirrelflight shouted, then plunged her paw into his mouth, and fished around until she dragged out the soggy piece of paper. "I can still read it!... no I can't."
"When in doubt, go right!" Scourge pointed out.
Jaypaw frowned. "No, left."
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Turkey!" Brambleclaw shouted, and ran off across the street, before getting hit by a truck.
"Well, that's a disappointment." Jaypaw observed.
"Might as well get going." Lionpaw suggested.
So they all left, with Scourge for some reason following them, and Brambleclaw left behind.
After a while, Scourge fell asleep on his paws, before falling into a river and drifting off to Narnia.
"Two down." Jaypaw noted. "Who's next?"
"You are! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Lionpaw shouted, moving to push Jaypaw. But his plan backfired as he slipped on some mud, and fell backwards off a cliff, and into the ocean. (How in the world they got to Sundrown place so fast, I'm not really sure.)
"That sucks." Somebody in the group mumbled, but other than that, nobody really cared.
...
Somewhere downstream...
...
Scourge dragged himself from the sewer, and waddled off. Not two seconds later, Lionpaw also dragged himself from the drain, and stumbled over to where Brambleclaw still lay plastered to the road. He poked his father once, then shrugged and sat down, munching on french fries.
...
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere...
...
Jaypaw sighed, and stopped walking. "I'm getting tired of this." He grumbled, and took out his cellphone. After typing in a few numbers, he waited.
"Hello?" Asked a voice on the other side.
"Yo, Purdy, how do you get to the mountains?" Jaypaw asked. The conversation lasted half an hour, before Jaypaw looked up. "He said go to those mountains." He pointed with a paw at the looming stone hills.
"Wait a second," Commanded Lionpaw, who had somehow caught up. "Have those always been there?"
Several cats shrugged, the rest were just confused. But before they could set out again, Jaypaw stopped them.
"What now?" Breezepaw groaned.
"I'm fed up with walking. I'll teleport up there and wait for you." Jaypaw suddenly dematerialized.
"Dang." Mumbled Brambleclaw, who had also magically caught up. "I need to get me one of those."
...
At the tribe...
...
"Welcome! Welcome! Go have some tea and coffee! Except Stormfur and Brook. You two are still banished." Stoneteller ordered with an almost creepy smile. Somewhere far off, a eagle swooped down and carried off Crag, but again, nobody really cared. "Oh, and after, I would like you to train us in fighting so we can go defeat those blasted rouges that keep invading our territory and killing our prey."
"Wait, what?!" Lionpaw exclaimed.
"Some Father's day this is." Grumbled Brambleclaw.
Like always, I want to thank you for reading this chapter, and hopefully liking it.
And everyone, please note that I am canadian, so all the holidays I've been doing have been posted on the dates I'm use to (except for this chapter, which was posted late). And so the next chapter will be on July 1st, which is Canada Day.
Don't forget to review!
