Hey guys! So I apologize in advance for the quality of this chapter. One of my closest friends left for his mission recently and he'll be out of the country for two years so I'm a bit emotionally distressed right now. And an emotionally distressed me does not make a decent writer. Well, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter regardless.

"Seto?" Mokuba asked, knocking on the door to his brother's home office. He heard his brother's muffled response through through and entered. Seto was seated at his desk, intensely focused on his laptop screen. His fingers danced effortlessly across the keys.
"Make it quick Mokuba, I have work to finish." The brunet lifted his gaze from his laptop to look at his younger brother.
"Why aren't you going to the banquet?" Seto blinked at his brother with a confused frown.
"What banquet?"
"The senior banquet. You know, the one after your graduation."
"I don't like people. I don't go to social gatherings unless I have to, you know that Mokuba."
"But Alissa wants to go."
"What does her wanting to go have to do with me?"
"She wants to go with you."
"She doesn't need me to go with her. She's independent. She can go with Yugi and the rest of the dweeb patrol."
"But she wants to celebrate graduation with you."
"I'm not going to the banquet Mokuba."
"Don't you understand how important this dance is for her, actually for any girl? Dances like this are a rite of passage for girls."
"How do you even know all of this?" It was obvious that the young billionaire was starting to get exasperated.
"I have friends at school who have older sisters so they talk about it all the time."
"I don't see why my attendance should matter to her."
"Because she doesn't want to leave you alone to celebrate graduation." Seto was about to point out that he wouldn't be alone because Mokuba would be home after the couple's graduation anyway, but his brother's voice stopped him.
"She really wants to go Seto." The older Kaiba sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He supposed he could go. He just hoped that he wouldn't be expected to converse with the idiots he was graduating with.
"Fine. I'll talk to her."

The next morning, Alissa searched her room frantically for her cellphone. She was supposed to meet Tea at the mall at noon and she was already fifteen minutes late. Where the hell is my cell phone? She sighed in agitation and slammed her dresser drawer shut. Maybe I left it downstairs. She left her room to continue her search elsewhere. She almost stumbled down the stairs at the quick pace she was going. She entered the kitchen and began searching the counter top. Seto sat at the table, scrolling through his laptop and sipping on his coffee with an amused smirk.
"Is there a specific reason that you're running around here like a chicken with its head cut off?"
"Hm, cute. Look, I'm not in the mood right now. My mom is taking me to the mall and I was supposed to be there to meet Tea fifteen minutes ago but I can't find my phone."
"It's on the table here." She caught sight of her phone on the table in front of him and smiled in relief.
"Thank you. Do you want me to get you anything while I'm out?" she asked as she pocketed her phone and headed for the front door.
"Get yourself a dress." She froze in the doorway of the kitchen.
"A dress? What for?"
"Well, I was hoping that you'd accompany me to the senior banquet."
"Oh Seto, you don't have to go. I know social gatherings and….people in general aren't your thing. We can find something else to do."
"You want to go." It wasn't a question. It was a statement.
"You're doing this for me?" He scoffed.
"Do you have to be so dramatic?" She smiled. Sure it wasn't the most romantic invitation she could've gotten, but he was trying.
"Sure. I'll go to the banquet with you." She walked back to where he sat, gave him a small peck on the cheek, and then walked out of the kitchen. She smiled as she dialed Tea and walked out of the manor.
"Alissa hey. Where are you?"
"Hey. Sorry, I couldn't find my phone. I'm leaving now."
"Okay. See you soon."
"Bye." She climbed into the passenger seat next to her mom. "Sorry to keep you waiting Mom. I couldn't find my phone."
"It's okay. Buckle up." Alissa did as she was told. Abigail started the car and drove out through the gate.
"Are you doing anything today Mom?"
"Not today, why?"
"Seto asked me to the banquet. I wanted you to help me find a dress."
"That's great Sweetie! I'd love to help my baby girl find a dress. Is Tea is okay with me joining you two?"
"I'm sure she won't mind. She loves you."
"Okay. It sounds like a plan then." It wasn't long before the mother and daughter reached the mall. They parked and met Tea in front of the fountain outside.
"Hey Tea!"
"Hey Alissa! Oh, hey Mrs. Todd. I didn't know you were coming."
"Sorry, it was kind of a last minute thing. I figured you'd be okay with her coming. I wanted her to help me find a dress."
"You're going after all? I'm so happy you decided to go! What made you change your mind?"
"Seto asked me."
"He's going?" Alissa laughed.
"Believe me, I'm as shocked as you are."
"Well either way, I'm happy he did! You ready to look around?"
"You bet! Let's go!"

"How about this one?"
"That one makes you look like you have a uniboob."
"Mom!"
"You asked."
"Ugh! None of these dresses are working! How did you find one already Tea?"
"Because she isn't as particular as you are. The pink one looked nice but you didn't like it."
"Because I'm too pasty to pull off hot pink!"
"You need to calm down. You're making a big deal out of nothing."
"This is the first dance I've ever had the opportunity to go to, of course I'm going to make a big deal out of it!"
"We'll find a dress Alissa. Knock it off with the attitude." Tea's eyes flashed awkwardly between mother and daughter. Well, I guess we know where Alissa got her strong attitude from now. Her mom definitely does not take shit.
"Fine." Alissa crossed her arms and returned to her dressing room to try on one of the several dresses she still had yet to try.
"Sorry about that Tea."
"Don't worry about it. It's okay."
"How about this one?" Alissa stepped out in a tiffany blue, floor length dress. The straps were thin and crossed in the back. Beading ran down the bodice of the dress and then petered out into the skirt.
"Oh, Sweetie. You look beautiful!"
"It isn't too busy with the beading?"
"No way!" Tea chimed in. "That dress is perfect."
"Do you want this one Alissa?"
"Yes."

The next two weeks passed in a blur. Before Alissa knew it, school was over and she had walked. She was currently at the banquet with her friends. She danced and laughed as upbeat music blasted through the speakers. When the song ended, she joined Seto, who was sitting in the corner.
"Are you ever going to leave that chair tonight?"
"Probably not."
"Not even for one dance?"
"Not likely."
"Okay. Well then I guess I'll just join you then!" She pulled one of the empty chairs closer to him and sat.
"Did you know that it's impossible to hum while holding your nose?" she asked.
"Really?" he said with a bored frown.
"Yep. And every time you lick a stamp you consume on tenth of a calorie."
"How interesting."
"Coca-Cola was originally green."
"If I agree to actually participate in dancing will you stop spewing out useless facts?"
"Sure."
"Fine. One dance."
"Sounds perfect. They just started playing one of my favorites. Come on!" She grabbed his hand and dragged him along as Footprints in the Sand began to play. She stopped when they reached the empty outside patio.
"Why are we out here?"
"Because I know you don't like an audience." She moved her arms up to around his neck and he held onto her waist as they swayed. She placed her head on his chest and hummed to the song contentedly.
"Thank you for taking me tonight. I know how you feel about stuff like this."
"If I at least have you to suffer through the idiocy with me, I think I'll manage."
"Good." The couple fell silent as they danced to the song. He spun her a final time before the song ended.
"So, what do you say to getting out of here hm?" She grinned at him.
"Let's blow this popsicle stand."

A couple of weeks after graduation, Alissa and her mother managed to find an apartment and quickly moved in, much to Seto's discomfort. Mother and daughter assured him that she would still visit frequently and they even provided Seto with a key to the apartment so he could visit whenever he had free time off of work. Alissa also started taking summer classes to get ahead so she could transfer by the middle of her freshman year. I hate summer classes, Alissa thought as she wearily unlocked her apartment door. She locked the door behind her and tossed her school bag onto the couch before venturing into the kitchen. She found a sticky note attached to the fridge. Went to get some groceries. Left money on the counter for sushi. Call me if you need anything. Love, Mom. Alissa grinned. At least I get sushi to make up for this stressful day.She dialed the sushi place and placed her order. She settled down on the couch with her homework as she waited for her sushi to arrive. There was a knock on the door twenty minutes later. That was fast. She approached the door, unlocked it, and then opened it. She froze when her gaze fell on a very familiar face. She quickly went to slam the door but it stopped one inch too short. Another body was pressed to the other side, preventing it from closing. It wasn't long before the door was thrown open and Alissa was thrown backwards onto the floor. She quickly scrambled to her feet as he entered her apartment. She positioned herself on the other side of the coffee table.
"You think that this little coffee table will protect you?" He smirked before flipping the coffee table out of the way. Everything that was on it was sent crashing to the ground in pieces. She used this very brief distraction to bolt for her bedroom. If she could just get to her bedroom and lock herself in, she could call the police and she'd be fine. A hand gripped tightly around her wrist, followed by a pull caused her to nearly stumble backwards. Before she could regain her bearings, a strong arm came around her waist and trapped both of her arms by her sides. She opened her mouth to scream but a hand clasped tightly over her mouth muffled it to the point that it was almost silent. She thrashed around in the tight hold and kicked her legs out in a desperate attempt of escape.
"Stop struggling!" She froze when he dug his nails into the skin of her arm. He rested his chin on her shoulder and his breath danced across her neck. She shut her eyes tightly and shivered.
"Good girl. Now, I want you to stay quiet. Can you do that?" She hesitated before nodding slowly. He removed his hand from her mouth but kept his grip on her arms.
"What do you want?" She didn't get an answer. Instead, she felt a prick at the back of her neck and a cool rush under her skin.
"Shh, you'll be asleep soon." Her vision started to blur and her legs became weak.
"N-no. Please," she slurred.
"Go to sleep." She opened her mouth to let out a final scream for help, but before she could even form the one word she so desperately needed to say, everything went black.
