SPENCER'S P.O.V
"Hey"
I've been looking everywhere for Matt, but he seems to have vanished.
So when I saw Ashley sitting by herself, I walked over.
"H-Hey"
She's been drinking.
"Ash can I talk to you for a second?"
She still hasn't looked at me.
"Spencer I've already heard it"
What's she on about?
"Heard what?"
"It doesn't matter"
I watch her as she takes another sip of her drink.
"You're starting early?"
"Spencer why are you here?"
When she finally looks at me it's pretty obvious something's wrong.
"I'm going to break up with Matt..."
"What does that have to do with me?"
That wasn't the response I was expecting.
"I'm going to tell him about us..."
"Spencer there's no us"
I didn't mean it like that.
"I know I just..."
I watch her as she takes another sip of her drink.
"Spencer why are you telling me this?"
"I don't know I just thought you should know"
"Okay..."
This is all really new to me, I've never seen this side of her before.
"Why are you acting like this?"
When I say that she doesn't answer me.
"Okay well let's just forget I even bothered..."
I have no idea what her problem is.
But I'm not going to just stand here and cop it.
"SPENCER WAIT"
When I hear her yell my name out I don't want to stop.
But she doesn't give me much of a choice when she cuts me off.
"Please?"
"Ashley how much have you had to drink?"
"Why does that matter?"
She looks confused.
"I don't want to talk to you if you're going to be a bitch"
When I left her room this morning everything was fine and now she's done a complete one eighty.
"Can we go back five minutes and start over?"
"Ashley what just happened?"
"I..."
None of this is making any sense.
"Seriously Ashley just tell me what's going on?"
"You told Chelsea we slept together"
How does she know that?
"How do you know that?"
"Spencer it doesn't matter"
"I think it does"
There's a long pause before she says anything.
"I ran into her..."
When she says that I know exactly what's happened.
Chelsea's very protective.
"What did she say to you?"
"It was nothing she just made everything a little clearer"
I bet she did.
"Spencer I should never have pursued you"
I'm just as much to blame as she is.
"I knew you were in a relationship and I knew how it was going to end, but I did it anyway. I did it because I didn't care, I didn't care how it would effect Matt and I didn't care what it would mean for you"
I don't know how to take that.
"All that mattered to me was what I wanted"
Why is she telling me this?
"Spencer I watched you walk into that hostel and all I could think about was sleeping with you..."
"So Sarah was right, I'm just another piece of ass?"
When she reaches out to touch my arm I step back.
"It was just about the chase wasn't it?"
I thought she was different.
"And me having a boyfriend made it so much more exciting?"
"Spencer it wasn't like that..."
"You just said it was, you just told me you didn't give a shit"
"I was trying to explain"
"What's there to explain Ashley?'
I'm not surprised when she doesn't answer me.
"You wanted to fuck me and I let you"
"Spencer it wasn't like that"
"Ashley we don't owe each other shit..."
I'm done listening to her.
"I'm just going to go"
When I walk away I don't bother looking back.
Whatever it was we were doing is over.
I need to find Matt.
