So…I drive back to school on Thursday…that's a scary thought. I have nine classes and it's going to kill me, but luckily I have no classes on Fridays! I'm just going to be dying Monday through Thursday. Come at me sophomore year! Anyhoo, here's the next chapter. I'll have the next chapter up Wednesday. Since I'm driving down to school Thursday, I might be able to write up a whole other chapter then too. Anyhoo read and enjoy!

"Okay, now there's no way in hell that one can be true!" Alissa sat up from the place she was laying on the deck. She looked at Seto with an unconvinced smile.
"It's true, Cleopatra lived closer in time to the building of the first Pizza Hut than she did to the building of the pyramids."
"Were the pyramids around that long before she was?"
"Almost twenty five hundred years actually. The pyramids were built between 2500 and 2490 B.C Cleopatra lived from roughly 69 B.C to 30 B.C."
"When was the first Pizza Hut built?"
"1958. How could you not have known this? From what I can tell you have a rather large arsenal of random and useless facts."
"Oh yeah, well did you know that there is actually a town in North Carolina called Boogertown?" He peered up at her and blinked slowly.
"You can't be serious."
"I'm as serious as the plague. There's a population of like seventeen hundred and fifty." He pulled himself up onto his elbows with and amused raise of his eyebrow.
"Is their main export snot?" Alissa snorted loudly.
"Solid joke, Rich Boy." She yawned and rubbed at her eyes. "I'm just realizing now how tired I am. What time is it?" He glanced down at the Rolex watch on his left wrist.
"Fifteen till two."
"I should head to bed then. If I don't get to sleep I'll be even less of a joy to be around than usual. Thanks for letting me sit out here with you."
"Thank you for dinner."
"Hm, you're welcome. I'll see you in the morning." He lifted his hand in a small wave as she left. He watched her walk away with a sad smile. Once she was gone he let out a tired sigh and ran a hand over his face. After their fight and breakup, he had every intention of staying mad at her for good. The things that were said by both of them were nearly unforgiveable. Despite all the things that had been said, she had still been willing to jump in and protect him at the risk of her own life. If she was willing to do that when she "hated" him, then he was certain that she'd do it without a second thought if they were a couple in the same situation. That's what worried him. She had nearly died for him. Sure, he had done the same for her in the past year. Multiple times in fact. That was his job though. He was supposed to be the protector, not her. When he saw that she had turned to stone, he felt like the world stopped spinning. He was scared. Thinking about how she almost died lit the protective instinct inside of him like a flame. He had to keep her safe, and the only way he could do that was if they stayed broken up. Could they be friends? Maybe, but they couldn't be a couple. It was only a matter of time before one of his enemies saw her as one of his weaknesses and kidnapped her, or even worse, killed her. He already lost her once when she lost her memory and he was lucky that he was able to get her back that time. Maybe the next time he wouldn't be as lucky. They had to stay broken up. It was the only way to keep her safe.

The young, brown haired man walked up the stairs towards the upper world. The spirit of his wife, who had white hair, followed behind him. The man, who was known as Orpheus, lost his wife, Eurydice when a snake bit her. His love for her was so strong, that he couldn't accept her death. He traveled to the Underworld, a place where no man had ever dared to go, to bring her back. He played his lyre and enchanted the Gods into letting him take the spirit of Eurydice back with him. The only condition being that as they raveled back to the upper world, he was not to turn back and look at his wife until they were both safely out of the Underworld. So Orpheus led the way out of the Underworld. He wanted nothing more than to turn around and make sure that she was following him, but he resisted he urge. They were almost there anyhow. The darkness around them slowly started to turn to a light gray. Finally, Orpheus stepped out into the daylight and turned to her in delight. It was too soon. Eurydice was still in the cavern. He threw his arm out frantically to catch her and drag her up. He watched in horror as the darkness surrounded her and sucked her back into the Underworld. He tried to follow her, but the Gods stopped him, forbidding him from entering the Underworld a second time. She was gone. He had failed her.

Seto woke with a start. Sweat beaded on his forehead under his hair and his heart was beating fast. What the hell was that? He turned onto his side and noticed that he was the only one in the room. Mokuba? A post it note sat on the bedside table.
Seto,
I went to go get breakfast with Yugi. You were finally asleep so I didn't want to wake you.
-Mokuba.
Seto yawned and made his way to the bathroom to splash cold water onto his face. He gripped the sides of the porcelain sink as his erratic heartbeat settled down. His dream left him shaken. The couple in the dream resembled him and Alissa to a tee. He remembered what Alissa had said about their past lives and shook his head. I must be projecting. My anxiety about her safety influenced the details of my dream. That has to be the answer. He shook his head again to get rid of the last remnants of his dream then began getting himself ready for the day. He had just finished getting dressed after his shower when there was a knock on the door. He opened it to see Alissa standing there with her back to him.
"If you're so hungry just go get yourself a plate, Joey! I'll meet you there!" She turned and jumped a little when she saw that Seto had opened the door. "Oh, morning. I didn't know you opened the door. Do you want to go eat?"
"Knowing you, that's not really a question, but a passive aggressive way to force me to go with you."
"You know me so well! Come on, Yugi texted me and said that there's an omelet bar down there." He grabbed his white sleeveless coat and slipped it on before following her out the door.
"So, how'd you sleep? You did sleep last night right?" she asked as they walked.
"For a couple hours, yes."
"Well that answers one of my questions but not the other. How'd you sleep?"
"Fine, now how about you quit it with the third degree?"
"Geez, I asked two questions. Sorry that I wanted to make sure you were okay."
"I don't need you to check up on me. I can take care of myself." She flared her nostrils at him and started walking ahead of him.
"I don't understand why you get so upset when people try to help you."
"I don't need help from anyone."
"You know what, I don't want to fight with you. Sorry for caring about you. I wasn't aware that was going to bother you so much. We should hurry if we want to get anything. Joey and Tristan hog the food enough as it is, but Bakura is a real eating machine. I swear, he's a bottomless pit." He couldn't hold back a small smile. He hated how impossible it was to stay mad at her. It was like trying to stay mad at a little kid.
"Well, let's pick up the pace Mr. Long Legs. I'd like to get some bacon before the food hogs eat it all." He picked up the pace a little to stand beside her. He had to fight back the urge to hold her hand.

"Are we dere yet?" Joey asked as the group continued their walk to the Shrine of the Millennium Stone.
"No," the rest of the group shouted in response. The group had been walking for a while and they were all getting tired of Joey's constant questions. Finally, the group reached their destination.
"Follow me," Ishizu ordered as the group descended down the steps into the tomb.
"Dude, this duel is going to be so awesome!" Tristan said with excitement.
"Yeah, Yugi dueling da Pharaoh. It's gonna be da match of da century!" Joey agreed. Alissa stopped when she noticed that Tea had stopped walking and was now several steps behind the group.
"Tea, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Its just…do we have to jump into this duel so quickly? I mean, I feel like we just started to get to know The Pharaoh and now we might have to say goodbye."
"We all know how you feel Tea, but this is what's best for The Pharaoh," Yugi said with a sad smile.
"You guys are right," Tea said with a nod. "Let's do this."
"You're one of da bravest people I know Tea. I know dis is tough for ya, but I want ya to know dat I'm proud to call you my friend."
"If you dorks start holding hands then I'm out of here. I didn't come along to listen to you lame friendship speeches."
"Maybe if ya actually had some friends ya wouldn't feel dat way, Money Bags!" Seto frowned and lowered his gaze to Joey.
"That was harsh," Tristan replied.
"Like he didn't deserve it?"
"Let's go guys," Yugi interrupted before Joey could pick another fight. The group descended down the rest of the stairs and finally reached a large room.
"There it is. The final resting place of the Millennium Stone." Yugi stepped up onto the platform that held the tablet and fit all the Millennium Items into their correct spots. Suddenly the Egyptian eye carved into one of the walls began to glow. Once the light cleared, Yugi and The Pharaoh stood side by side.
"No way!"
"I'm seeing double."
"It's The Pharaoh!" The two star haired duelists each walked to opposite sides of the platform. The ultimate duel was about to begin.

Well, I guess I'll just stop here. This chapter was a little short but I wanted to get into Seto's mind about this whole thing. So, for my guest reviewer who asked to see into Seto's mind, here ya go! Next chapter will be up Wednesday hopefully. If not, then it'll be up Thursday. Thanks for the reviews for last chapter. Let me know what ya guys thought of this chapter, until next time!
