Hey guys! Writer's block is the worst. For real, I wanted to shove my head through a wall. Anyhoo, this chapter is done and that's all that matters. Oh, this chapter also has a rather large time jump. Read and enjoy.

A year passed and Alissa made a full recovery. After seeing a psychiatrist for twelve months, she was finally well enough to stop seeing one. Her first year at the community college in Domino helped her get the credits to transfer to NYU for music production in the fall for her sophomore year. She was the happiest that she had ever been. She currently stood in her kitchen frosting the last of the cupcakes for her party. Yugi and the gang were coming over for a small get together to say goodbye to her and Tea before they went back to NYU to continue their schooling. A knock on the door had her putting down the icing and walking towards the door.

"Hey guys!" Alissa greeted her friends when she opened the door.

"Hey, Alissa. We brought da movies!"

"Great. You guys can just hang out in the living room. I need to finish up in the kitchen then I'll be out."

"I'll help ya, Liss."

"Thanks, Joey." The two entered the kitchen while the rest of the group got comfortable in the living room.

"Are does your mom's famous cupcakes?" Joey asked in excitement.

"Yep. Do you want to hold the cupcake or frost them?"

"I'll frost 'em."

"Okay." Alissa held the cupcake while Joey squeezed on the blue frosting in a swirled shape. He paused to run his finger through the frosting.

"Oh my God. Stop. You lost your frosting privileges. What is it with boys and sticking their fingers in food?" Joey chuckled.

"I just wanted ta try da frosting."

"Okay, well that cupcake is yours then," Alissa replied with a laugh. "Hold the cupcake so I can frost it." As soon as the cupcakes were frosted, Alissa situated them on two plates.

"Here, you can take these out while I start the popcorn." She handed the blond the two plates then began rummaging through the cupboard for a pan and the kernels.

"Ya need help wid' da popcorn too, Liss?" Alissa sighed in annoyance when she realized she had forgotten to get cooking oil.

"Shit. I forgot cooking oil." She set the pan and kernels down before grabbing her keys from the bowl on the kitchen table. "You guys can start the movie without me. I'll be back in twenty minutes." She grabbed her wallet from the counter and headed for the door.

"I'll come wid' ya."

"No, it's okay. I'm only getting one thing. You don't have to come, Joey."

"I wanna."

"Okay, fine. Let's go then." It didn't take long for the duo to reach the grocery store. Joey wandered to the candy aisle as Alissa searched for cooking oil. She grabbed a bottle and was headed down the frozen section towards the cash register when someone called her name.

"Hey, Alissa!" Alissa turned to see Mokuba heading in her direction. The younger Kaiba grinned and hugged her when he reached her.

"Hey, Mokuba! How've you been?" she asked as she hugged the black haired boy.

"I've been pretty good. How about you?" he asked as he pulled away.

"I've been good. I mean, I've been pretty busy preparing for the move in three days and everything, but other than that I've been good."

"The move? Where are you going?"

"I got into NYU for musical production."

"You did? Alissa, that's great!"

"Thanks. I'm really excited about it. Hey, you finished your first year of high school already didn't you? How was that?"

"Too easy." Alissa smiled and let out a small laugh.

"I forgot that you and your brother were geniuses. Well, I should probably go. I'm having a small get together at my house if you want to stop by later."

"I'll see. Bye Alissa. It was nice to see you again. I miss you."

"I miss you too Little Kaiba. Tell your brother I said hi, okay? Bye Mokuba."

"Bye Alissa."

"Seto?" Mokuba asked, peeking into his brother's home office.

"What is it, Mokuba?" Seto asked, briefly looking up from the screen of his computer before looking down again.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm rewriting the codes for the virtual simulation pods. Was there something you needed, Mokuba? I'm very busy."

"I saw Alissa at the grocery store today." The older Kaiba visibly stiffened, but that was the only outward response he showed.

"Did you now?"

"Yeah. She told me to send you regards."

"Did she? How did she look?"

"She looks good. She's having a small get together tonight. She told me to stop by later."

"You can do whatever you want, Mokuba."

"Would you want to come with me, Seto?"

"You know the answer to that, Mokuba."

"Why not? I know it's been a year since you guys talked, but just because you guys aren't together, doesn't mean you can't be friends."

"I don't have time for this. I have a lot of work to get done."

"I know you miss her."

"Drop it, Mokuba."

"Fine. I just thought that you'd want to say goodbye to her before she goes." That statement had the brunet finally looking up from his computer screen.

"Where is she going?"

"New York. She got accepted to NYU. She's leaving in three days."

Alissa looked around her empty bedroom with a small smile. All of her belongings were out in the living room in suitcases and boxes. The day she had been dreaming of since she was a little girl was finally here. She was going to NYU you to pursue her dream of being a music artist.

"Alissa come on! Tea and her family are waiting for us!"

"Coming Mom!" Alissa smiled a final time and shut the door to her room. She gathered up the rest of her things and followed her mom out of their apartment. After about a thirteen-hour flight, Tea, Alissa, and their families landed in New York. The two friends, now roommates walked through the city, trailing their luggage behind them.

"It's beautiful here!" Alissa said in awe.

"Just wait until they decorate for the holidays."

"I can't wait! I'm so happy we got an apartment together!"

"Me too, Alissa. It's going to be great!" The two girls reached their apartment and began to unpack.

"Have you seen our neighbors yet, Tea? They're hot! Picking a co-ed floor was an extremely good decision."

"Single and ready to mingle," Tea giggled.

"More like I'm desperate and I'll take anything that moves," Alissa shot back with a smirk.

"Boo, you whore."

"I love you, Tea."

"I love you too, Alissa. Don't worry. This year will be the year that you finally get over Skinny Dick and find the man of your dreams."

"Let's not talk about him right now okay?" Although it had been over a year since her and Seto broke up, she still hadn't gotten over him. She was still far from getting over him.

"I'll grab the last of the boxes, Tea." Alissa walked into the hallway and stacked the last three boxes into her arms. She yelped in surprise when she bumped into somebody and dropped the box straight onto his toes.

"Oh, God! I'm sorry! I guess I stacked the boxes too high! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," the stranger chuckled.

"That's good! I was afraid that I'd broken your toes." She gazed up at the speaker and her eyes met a familiar face.

"Wait, I know you. You worked for Dartz. You're Alister."

uhm… surprise. Did you guys see that coming? Probably not cause neither did I. Um, anyhoo. This chapter is really short but that's only because I wanted to end it on a cliffhanger. Originally this chapter was a lot longer. Oh well, I hope you guys enjoy it despite the short length. I'm already halfway through the next chapter and it's more than three times this long, so fear not, a long update is coming soon. I love you guys and let me know what you think of this twist! Peace out girl scouts!
