Part 13 Trust is relevant

Victoria Donavan moved with great skill and speed. She soon had all the supplies needed to perform the transfusions. However she knew that this was far more than just giving blood. Every instinct she had said that this would be far more. Somehow it was going to bind these people together even if they did not all understand that just yet. Not that they were not all mostly family anyway but, blood ties would be formed something she had a feeling would be very important soon. Not in the sense of immediate siblings or anything like that. No the slayer line was about to be changed again and as a Druid that was good news because the world would be even more protected. More slayers or more potential was always a good thing to her mind. Not that most would agree but they needed champions and she knew despite her anger at Hope for her treatment of Patrick she was a Champion Born just as he was. Sadly they could not at the time make it work maybe just maybe this might give them a chance to mend fences and heal. She prayed so for both their sakes because she could still see the bond even if it was tattered and torn Hope loved Patrick and he still loved her. It would be nice to see them become one again.

Maura watched the procedure not 100 percent certain about it. She was shocked to see that the nurse was lining them all up to take blood. "What are you doing?" She asked. "I know direct transfusions are not the norm but, in this case you can take from either M-Hope or me, we really do not need other donors unless she Caylin needs significantly more blood then you stated."

"I have a feeling this is an adoption of sorts, an old way adoption which somehow I think you know about Maura." Constance said."I have a feeling you know more about the old ways than your father, Hope or I know. I know you are concerned but trust me when I say in this at least Paddy would not lie. He has despite his reputation always tried hard to protect you and keep you safe. He has watched over you your entire life and as sad as it makes me to say it in many ways was a more involved parent though you likely did not know it at the time. Hope I understand you are angry and you have every right to be. I swear on my life I did not know Paddy lied to you. He merely said that you wanted Maura safe which I know was not a lie. We must work together, I want to help Caylin if what has happened is what I think she and you will need this. This boost will help heal you and her and will give her strength to face what is to come. I always believed you were unaware of your status but it seems I was wrong."

"I was wrong too I should not blame you for my own failings. As much as I am angry with Paddy I can see why he placed Maura with you. I can also see we must do this. I suppose having a sister who raised my eldest daughter is not too high a price to pay to protect my youngest. I recognized the being that was with Caylin and she will be hunted. So let us do this. Maura trust your mother and me when we say this is needed. Your friends would advise you to do so. You know that life is blood. I understand what Nurse Donavan plans it is a wise course of action. The needs must please trust us. We may have not always been the best of parents but we love you and will do all we can to keep you safe and happy. It will save your younger sister and it will, help protect me so please agree."

Maura nodded slowly her fears dissipating as her mother's seemed to come to some agreement.

The gang all sighed with relief they had not wanted to force the issue as it was almost blood magic and that could be bad when forced.

"Ok Nurse makes like a vampire and takes some blood, I Faith the Dark Slayer Alpha of the line give it of my own free will to heal to bind to join so mote be." She looked at Dawn who nodded and rolled up her own sleeve. "I Dawn of the Summer's clan do so freely offer my blood that it be the key to healing let it help bond and renew. A gift of life and blood freely given so mote be."

Buffy rolled her eyes at the theatrics but followed suit. "I Buffy Summers Omega of the Slayer line give this gift to our sisters of my own free will let it be joined with those newly born to heal the sisters called to join us."

Maura looked at Jane and said "Please Jane, help me save Caylin."

Jane sighed and not really understanding and a little worried and afraid but trusting Maura as always with her life said. "I Jane protector of Maura Isles give my blood to her sister of my own free will to save her life and that of her biological mother so mote be?"

The last said almost as a Question. Maura smiled brightly at Jane who suddenly felt she had passed a test she did not even know she was facing.

Maura looked at the others. "I am Maura of the born of the House of Doyle and Martin Fostered/Adopted and loved by the house of Isles and bonded to the house of Rizzoli do give my sister and mother my blood to help bond and heal us."

"I Willow the Red Witch add my blood of my own free will along with that of my mate Kennedy to make this a new line and family let it be known we give freely of our lives and power to protect the house of Martin and make it strong so mote be."

The blood was all gathered into a bowl then poured into two bags one attached to Hope and one to Caylin it seemed to almost want to jump into the two women.

As the blood flowed in Willow moved forward. "Blood is life the gifts freely given let it bind and heal and give the gifts of the lines of Doyle, Summers, Martin and Isles. A new line is born to and twined with the old ones may it be melded with the olden lines and in this blending in the joining let a new family be sealed so mote be."

As the last line was said there was a flash of light and Caylin jerked. Maura cried out and fell forward. Jane caught her and glared. "If you hurt her I will kill you."

"Magic always has a price Jane Rizzoli the price for the gifts Hope demanded is pain for all of us." Willow winced feeling her own body sacrifice the magic of itself to heal both Maura and Caylin the slayers bent over in pain and Dawn passed out because it took a great deal from them all. Jane suddenly felt like her side was on fire. She saw Maura grab her side and cry out Jane then ran to her side and pulled back Maura's dress and saw her side glowing as the scar from the transplant glowed and then faded. Maura looked up in shock. "What how, this is not possible…instant healing is …." She looked up at Willow who merely smirked and said.

"Magic!"

Caylin cursed. "Mother what have you done to us? What will this do to Maura, you and I?"

Hope bent over in pain for a moment then straightened up looking over at Constance who tossed her own cane aside. The new elder slayer no longer needed it and decided since Magic was out of the bag as it were she would not hide her healing. Well at least she got slayer healing in the package so it might be worth it. Hell it was worth it she felt 30 years younger and stronger.

"Well I guess we both got the short straw. Slayers I thought we got lucky but it seems it will be a family affair. Our daughters will need us to get along and to help them train all three of them will need us. At least William can be our watcher."Constance said with a grin. I always wondered about a slayer watcher relationship it might be interesting.

Buffy rolled her eyes and Faith chuckled at this.

"Yes, but at least we get to protect them, not that I think Jane will be patient with that...idea, I suppose he is the best option." Hope looked over at Doyle. "There is that."Hope said. She turned to her daughter and said. "How could you go off into a dark place with that man?"

"Mum Luke is my tutor and friend I…I've known him a long time. He's a great guy. I just…what happened to his face? Was it something to do with his sunlight allergy?"

Doyle snorted at this. Clearly Caylin had not inherited her mother's brains not that he would say that. He got a dark look from Hope.

"What's a master vampire doing walking around your area?" William demanded.

"He is an ally of sorts." Doyle said hedging. "Mitchell is the master of the city. He has a catch and release policy and is very through in policing his own. There have been only four kills in the last decade and three were from out of towners he staked himself. He is not a good vampire but, given some he is someone who helps keep order. The power he has keeps many other demons out. Well for the most part."

It was Faith's turn to snort at that.
"Not when I was a kid."

"That was not a good time all around Faith. All Masters have challengers even Mitchell. While the agreement is in place my family has to let some things be his to police. It may seem harsh but it is far better than some cities. Many have nightly killings and as good as my people are we would not be able to make a large dent. The alliance with that vampire is one of the few things I agree with my pa on. It has been in place for over 250 years and he has kept his part of it better than one could expect. I am certain he will be less than pleased with your group's presence. However I do believe we can talk. Before you protest he could prove useful in your search for these killers. He knows Boston and its surrounding shires better than most. He can go places that you can't or at least not without a fight."

"You have to be joking."William said. "There is no way we can work with a vampire."

"Why not we have before?"Buffy said she sighed "Of course we will have some issues if he keeps coming after Dr. Martin's daughter."

"Luke is my boyfriend and why do you call him Mitchell?"

"Because dear girl that is his real name. Luke is merely a name he uses in this time. Well mostly because he refuses to add numbers behind his name." Doyle replied.

That remark made the Sunnydale group all begin to chuckle much to the confusion of the others.

"Ok I've been patient enough. I even let Jane help you all but now I want some answers or I swear to God I will haul you all in for a medical review because Vampires and Witches, Magic now that is crazy." Korsak said clearly annoyed.

Frost nodded his agreement even as he was typing away at his I pad trying to find out information about the strangers. He had face recognition software and now names he would find out who they were. His guess was that they had escaped some mental institution or it had been until the Isles and Dr. Martin seemed to back them up. Of course Doyle and that Marshal tossed in really made him nervous. Something was going on that they needed to know about. He looked at Jane who nodded clearly urging him to hurry.

"Mum what is going on? What have you done to me I feel…I feel strong." Caylin said she looked shocked and confused.

"I will explain everything soon. Caylin is right on one thing she can not remain here." Hope said. She made a fist of her own and let it lose clearly feeling new power run through her. She looked over at Constance who nodded.

"Yes it seems we have much to talk about and this hospital is hardly the proper location. It is not secure for one thing as it is a public place. We should move to one of our homes." William said. "I have offered t he council the use of our home and it is large enough for this discussion. When Caylin is released we should be able to go and sort this out."

"We are not going anywhere without some sort of explanation." Jane said clearly she was now processing and not liking the conclusions at all. Something was going on and it was affecting Boston and it involved Maura and it could be dangerous to her and she would not let that happen.

"Janie we need answers." Korsak said.

The nickname got a glare from Jane but she knew he was right. However she was not sure she trusted anyone right now outside of her partners and Maura and the later was only because she loved her with all her heart and soul because she was acting really strange all of a sudden. It was like they fell down the rabbit hole with Maura being Alice. It was not something she liked.

"If you want answers detective you will come with us."William said. "Besides I am rather certain you and your team will soon be ordered to work with the Council I have already made a call to the governor to ensure it. It is imperative we solve these murders a lot more is going on then you know or can easily understand. You will need expert assistance and that is what they are here to offer."

Jane glared at him she hated politics and power plays it always made their job harder. "So what they ride in and take our case?"

"This is not about ego detective."Buffy said stepping in to help William. "We could easily take this case from you. However we don't want to do that. We want to ensure the person or people who killed our friends go to jail for a long time. It is not something we can do. We are here to help you to be a resource. Are there things you need to know and be brought up to speed on yes. Are we dangerous to you and yours? Of course but then you are just as dangerous to us if you intended to harm us. However since we don't intend to cause harm and we assume you and yours are honorable police officers this does not matter. Please just work with us here. I hate throwing my political power around. I can and will but I am loath to do so it generally just complicates and slows investigations down. It may give the bad guy a chance to hurt someone else. Yes we have some real complications and problems but we can fix them by working together."Buffy said. "Look at Caylin and Maura both look and feel stronger trust us and we can help you."

"Jane?" Frost said clearly not certain.

Jane looked at Korsak since technically he was in charge though more and more she took the lead. He sighed and said. "This is your case your call."

"Well thanks Korsak," She looked at Maura who seemed pensive and concerned. She was looking at all four of her parents with worry clearly she wanted to know what the hell was going on. Hell Jane wanted to know so she said. "Ok but we are calling Frankie to join us."

The others looked at William as it was his house. He nodded. "Fair enough and call your Lieutenant as well just so he knows where you will be." William said trying to help Jane and her team accept nothing nefarious would happen.

Korsak pulled his phone and did just that quickly.

Jane then said "How soon can we get out of here. I hate hospitals."

Everyone laughed at this as it was a shared sentiment well everyone except nurse Donavan.
