Hey there! I'm still here! While I'm currently in a creative limbo what with me trying to come up with new ideas for my stories I thought I'd try something new I was inspired by a series of someone reviewing Pokemon throughout the regions and I thought why not try something similar, I have been way Ben 10 every now and then so why not try taking a look at the well know aliens that we came to love over the years. So let's begin with the very first one we were introduced to… heatblast!
Being Ben's very first transformation, heatblast became a staple in the series and his design is really great too! With his iconic torch head and charcoal body. Power wise aside from shooting fire of course he also can absorb fire and ride a flaming piece of the ground silver surfer style I'd say it's no wonder why he's so iconic.
While he doesn't appear much in alien force and is instead substituted by Alen, at least it somewhat counts as an appearance, and at least he appears every now and then in ultimate alien, design wise I couldn't tell if it was because of the night but it seemed that coal on his body suddenly became… darker…? Which was a bit weird like does the coal on pyronites darker as they age or is that the artists couldn't think of anything else for a redesign and just darkened the coal and called it a day?
The same thing is there in omiverse too. I get you don't wanna make him look unrecognizable but you could've added some slight differences, at least the other aliens went through some unique changes.
In the reboot however, like all the aliens in that show, which was fine in my opinion, heatblast was given a more chibi esc appearance and it wasn't too bad. The omi enhanced version really gave him a cool glow up with the added jetpack. And Omni kix giving him a flamethrower hand is pretty interesting… though it does kinda make the use of the whole shooting fire from his hands thing kinda pointless. Interestingly though, the Omni knaut version combines the two and gives him both a flamethrower hand and a jetpack.
Nevertheless heatblast will always remain an iconic alien.
