Lucas Mitchell Cabot Cooper welcomed his sire and mate into his home. He was uncertain for the first time in decades and needed to speak to the elder vampire to gain some perspective. Their earlier frank discussion had him thinking deeply. He was not so certain that this was a safe or sane thing to do meeting up with the slayers. However Dracula seemed to think it could work and his mate also seemed to trust the slayer and her associates. It was never simple and easy. Why could I have not fell for an orphan? He thought. Oh well I suppose being on the side of good officially might save his worn torn soul. He looked at Dracula and wondered if the elder had ever explained the difference in the types of vampires to the slayer and her people? He knew the old council had never really made a distinction on the differences classing all as souless killing monsters. While it was true many of his type of vampires could be monsters they also were often protectors. Even the master of the Aurelus line had had a deep respect for the royal Draculian line and they had stayed clear of each other for the most part. However that being said Dracula had a reputation matching the Master Nest and it had kept his childer safe enough when they traveled. Of course given the slaughter Vlad had done to the Ottaman Turks it was not surprising humans feared Dracula and thought all vampires came from his line. That thought amused Vlad and annoyed other masters but perhaps it was past time to clarify the differences. Lucas had a few of his own childer in the city and he did not want them staked. "Perhaps we need to explain the differing lines to the slayers. While we do not have the numbers of the other lines with so many slayers about our children are bound to run into slayers sooner rather than later. Sire perhaps a preemptive negotiation for safe passage. I know most of your childer do not kill and mine are staked if they do. So perhaps a lasting treaty could be worked out. Also if I am a potential/slayers mate perhaps others are as well. We need to keep that in mind as well. I mean if we could offer mates to match the slayers and be backup to them perhaps they could see value in helping us survive. None of us need to kill anymore even if some still like human blood. We have many willing donors and they are well paid for their service. So maybe an exchange could be worked out." Lucas suggested.

"Now that is an interesting thought. I had intended to explain things when last I met up with the slayer however she was very impulsive back then more slay first ask questions later. However time has mellowed her and she had learned that the world is not black and white so perhaps this time it could be done properly. Also I have to admit my former brides did complicate matters and it was very amusing to enthrall her friend. A mistake upon reflection as it made her angry and protective. I suppose I to acted foolishly back then."

Harmony rolled her eyes. She had heard of the incident and frankly had she been Buffy and had Vladimir gone after her friends or even the Cordettes she would have wanted to stake him too. It was well that he was not so easy to slay or she would never have found a mate. Of course most vampires turned by Vlad still had their souls. Something Harmony hardly missed until she met him. She sighed. Oh well he loved her soul or not and if she was honest with herself and strangely she was she really was not much different now. She had been cold and cruel before and shallow. If anything being turned had made her more kind. She sighed. "You got lucky but Luc is right we should explain things. Besides if what you learned is true they are going to need our help and his connections. The killing of all those potentials is evil. Yeah I so

Can't believe I am upset about that but for all their hunting our kind they do keep the world spinning. I like the world just as it is. I have to agree with William on that one. Hell on earth would so not be good for any vampire."

"So than we are agreed we meet up with the Queen of the slayers and her people and the BPD, Doyle and the other families to solve this. Truce at least until this thing is solved to save the world. Then we deal with the other issues hopefully with Caylin ending up as my bride and peace between us a more solid thing for all our sakes." Lucas said.

"Yes Luc that sounds like a plan." His sire said with a smile sipping the warm blood his favorite son had heated for him.

"That is good because as crazy as it may seem I miss Buffy and her crazy gang. I guess they are as close to family as I now have. I mean I can hardly go home to my mom and dad. Not that I would not love to introduce you Vlad but Dad and Mom would never get me being a vampire not to mention my daddy was way over protective and stuff. He certainly hate the age difference."

This made the Dracula chuckle only someone like Harmony would worry about him gaining her family's approval. Sometimes she was still that simply girl and he was glad of it. Of course not having to face in-laws was also a plus.
