On a sunny day in May, Madison was preparing something on her laptop as she clicked the microphone button on. She heard a chirp as she turned and looked at the glass cage. She smiled as she notice Zor was looking at her. A while back, Madison asked her parents to keep him as Zor as he was in a Bearded Dragon disguise. They told her it will be a big responsibility, but Madison promised that she will try her best to care for Zor.
So, they agreed. They bought some items and food, a book on how to take care of a Bearded Dragon like Zor, but for his habitat, they did keep the old fish tank that Madison's brother had for a while. It is small but the family will try to save money on buying a better habitat for Zor. As for the food, Zor didn't mind the bugs and worms but on certain days, Madison will sneak some raw meat for him, and the lizard will heat them up with his fire ability. Madison was happy to have him with her but told her little friend to keep abilities a secret.
As Zor was looking at her, he chirped again as he looked at the laptop.
"What is it, boy? Want to join the chat too?" Madison asked and Zor chirped and nod his little head.
Madison carefully got Zor out of his cage and placed him on her shoulder as she sat back on her bed.
"Alright. Be on your best behavior when she's online?" Madison asked him and Zor nod in reply.
Suddenly she heard a ding sound. Madison looked at the screen and saw a notification saying "Trysha has joined the chat". She clicked the approve button and out popped a screen of words that was from the girl.
Trysha: Hey, Maddie. It's a pretty nice day in May today. I'm just about to watch the Corpse Bride DVD.
Madison smiled and started typing to reply to her.
Madison: Haven't seen that movie for a while but it's actually one of my favorite films." Madison replied.
Trysha: Yeah, it's a pretty good Tim Burton movie. Plus, I also like the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Sleepy Hollow", and "Frankenweenie". So any plans have you had lately just curious?
Madison: Not really. But I thought my little friend would join the chat.
Madison looked at her friend and smiled as Zor chirped until Trysha replied back.
Trysha: I bet that little friend of yours is adorable and i like any animals, but not a big fan of mosquitos and flies.
Madison: He is adorable. He's actually a Bearded Dragon. The only reptile I'm not afraid of.
"Of course, he's also a dragon." Madison spoke as she looked at Zor but didn't typed that part.
Trysha: (GASPS) Bearded Dragons are mega adorable! What's his name?
Madison: His name is Zor.
Trysha: Zor is such a great name! Even though "Corpse Bride" has some good songs.
Madison: Any song you like from the film? Mine is "Remains of the Day".
Trysha: Well, I do like the song, but i also like "Tears to Shed".
Madison: Yeah, that song is pretty.
Trysha: Yeah, it sure is. Even though I felt bad for how Emily died.
Madison: She doesn't deserve that. But the characters I hate the most besides Barkis are the Everglots. Victoria's parents.
Trysha: Yeah, they totally sucks. I wish I could meet you in person.
Madison: Me too. If there was a face chat, we would have meet in a screen-person way. And of course, we could also watch the Corpse Bride together like those reaction films.
Zor chirped and Madison looked at him. He chirped again as a way that he would like to meet Trysha as well. She smiled as she gently petted his head.
"Would be nice, bud. Would be nice. And I know that Trysha will like you a lot." she said to him, and Zor smiled.
Madison heard the ding sound again and read Trysha's reply.
Trysha: Sounds like a good idea.
Madison smiled until she saw the notification saying: "Trysha is off the chat". She closed her laptop and put Zor back in her glass cage as her shoulder was getting tired of holding him. Madison thought of the moment. Since her friend is watching "The Corpse Bride", she should watch it too. She quickly turn on her TV and went to HBO Max. Luckily, that movie is not erased and quickly clicked. But before she pressed the play button, Madison brought out her necklace from the jewelry box and put it on.
As the movie goes on, Madison and Zor were watching the middle of the scene where Victor was in the Land of the Dead with Emily. But what they didn't know was that the necklace was glowing a little, knowing as a sign.
But somewhere in another town, Trysha was in her room watching the movie as well until she felt something strange. She didn't know what that was but as the movie kept playing, a glow appeared around the television. Trysha winced from the brightness until her body felt weird again like something is pulling her. She didn't know what was going on but as she looked at her arms, they were absorbing towards the TV screen. Trysha tried screaming until her entire body went straight to the screen. There was silence and the bedroom was empty.
As the movie was over for Madison, she turned her television and got out of the bed.
"I'll be right, Zor. I'm bringing you some food." she said.
Zor chirped as his mistress left the bedroom. Once she was gone, the TV was turned back on by itself. The reptile doesn't know how that happen and it was him. As he looked at the screen, the "Corpse Bride" movie was playing again by itself. Don't know how that happen, until the screen went brighter and brighter for him.
A moment later, Madison came back upstairs with a small plate of raw meat for Zor as she went back into her bedroom.
"Here you go, Zor." she said as she put the meat in, but as she looked at tank, he was gone. "Zor?"
Madison looked as three sides of the tank, see if he's around, he's not. He couldn't escape because the lid was always sealed close until she heard electrical sounds. She turned around as she was facing the television and notice something strange.
The TV was glowing white around it with some electricals and on the screen, was the blue butterfly like from the "Corpse Bride" movie. Madison looked confused. Wondering why the movie was back on and why is it glowing? She got closer to it and placed her hand on the screen. She didn't feel the hardness, but the screen was smooth and... wavy?
Her wand went further in and to Madison's shock as she gasped, her hand was in the screen but looked clay style like. Madison quickly got her hand out and saw that it was back to normal.
"Okay... freaky." she said to herself until she heard a familiar chirp. "Zor? Zor, where are you?"
Madison looked around, trying to find her friend until the chirp sounded close to her. She looked back at the screen and lean closely as she heard the chirp sound. Madison's eyes grew wide as she realized that Zor is in there.
Madison don't know how he got in there, but she has to go and find him. She took a deep breath, knowing that she has no other choice but to go in the screen. As she exhaled her breath, Madison put her hands on the screen and went further along with her arms. She starts pressing her head in with her eyes close as she went further in, after her full body was in... she screamed, and the room was empty.
