Slytherin – Fanatic 911: Howdy Y'all! We've only got a couple more chapters left. Let's do it!
Frizzle: Disclaimer: Slytherin – Fanatic 911 does own D N Anel but she does own her own character, Sayuri (Satoshi-kun's twin sister). Now… ON WITH THE CHAPTER!
Daisuke jogged along the beach in between Takeshi and Miyamoto. After everything that happened yesterday, he felt exhausted. Breaking up with his girlfriend, discovering his feelings for his male friend, and then confessing to said male friend was tiring work. Takeshi's incessant chattering last night didn't help any. He asked about everything, from why exactly he broke up with Riku to what his 'beef' with Satoshi was. Thankfully, he'd managed to avoid answering most of the questions with the excuse that he was tired. Which, to be honest, was more truth than anything else.
(You gotta buck up, Daisuke,) Dark said. (You're gonna need all your strength for tonight's heist. I might have to use magic against Krad.)
(We have some free time after lunch so I'll get some rest then. Are you worried about Krad?)
Dark was silent for a moment. Eventually, he said, (We just gotta be careful.)
Ever since yesterday, Daisuke noticed that Dark had been quieter than usual. Normally he commented on everything that Daisuke did, but now he only really spoke when prompted. It must have something to do with how Daisuke found himself and Satoshi yesterday. They'd been leaning in, as if for a kiss. Was Dark going to kiss Krad? Did Dark have feelings for Krad? No way, right? Dark was a womaniser through and through. Krad may look feminine, but he definitely wasn't a girl. But the two did have a long history together. It might be plausible for there to be something more between them.
(Before you even think about other's, you should worry about your own love life first.,) Dark said.
(Right,) Daisuke said.
Dark was right, of course. In the next couple days, Satoshi should give him a response. As much as he wanted a positive one, he was preparing himself for the worst. Even though he'd apologised, he had no right to expect anything other than a rejection. Both Krad and Sayuri would likely push Satoshi away from him and he probably didn't even have any feelings for him in the first place.
"Gotta have faith," Daisuke mumbled, looking at the ground.
"That's right, buddy," Takeshi said, slapping Daisuke on the back. "You and Harada-san may not have lasted but there are plenty more opportunities out there for you."
Daisuke looked up to Takeshi with a slight glare.
"Yeah," Miyamoto said, "despite how much of a klutz you are, I think you have a lot of good points in your favour. Girls will be falling over trying to get you soon enough."
"Exactly!" Takeshi said. "And when you reject them, Miyamoto and I can pick up the leftovers."
Daisuke let out a sigh and focussed on the beach ahead of him. He didn't want girls falling for him. He only wanted Satoshi.

A few hours later found Daisuke with the rest of his class on a nature walk. When they were first getting a brief on the walk by the teacher, he'd looked around to see if Riku, Satoshi, and Sayuri were there, but only Sayuri was. She was standing near Risa, who was talking to her. It was weird to see Sayuri without Satoshi but this gave him the perfect opportunity. He wanted to apologise to her about what he said and now he didn't have to do that in front of Satoshi.
They started walking along the path, Takeshi falling behind the girls but Miyamoto remaining by his side. He kept glancing back towards Risa and Sayuri, which did cause some frowns from Miyamoto. Eventually, Sayuri caught his eye one time. She gave him a hard look then turned back to Risa. Surely Satoshi had told her about what he said yesterday? Did she hate him for that? And she would probably know better than anyone else about what her brother's feelings were.
Daisuke swallowed and turned back to the front.
(You're never gonna get Creepy to fall in love with you if you're still at odds with his sister,) Dark said.
(I could say the same for you,) Daisuke said, pouting.
(I'm just trying to give you some advice. No need to get snappy.)
(I know, I know. I just… don't know how to talk to her.)
(If you can hold a decent conversation with Creepy, you can talk to her. She seems like she's better adapted to people than Mr 'I think staring at people and writing notes about them in my Little Black Book is perfectly acceptable behaviour'.)
(But what if she doesn't forgive me for what I said?)
(Then at least you tried. Seriously, if you can say to Creepy straight to his face that you have feelings for him, you can apologise to her.)
Daisuke frowned. In theory, it sounded perfectly easy. But there was still something about the whole thing that made him hesitate. He sighed and resolved to talk to her when they got back to the hotel. He could use the rest of the walk to actually gather up the courage to do so.
"Niwa-kun."
Or not.
Daisuke turned and saw that Sayuri left Risa with some of her friends and caught up with him. He felt Miyamoto give him a nudge before he walked ahead.
"Hi-Hiwatari-chan," Daisuke said as she fell into step beside him.
"Hey, I was wondering if I could talk to you," she said.
He swallowed and stared at the ground. "Sure. I kinda wanted to talk to you too."
"Oh, well, how about you go first then."
Daisuke nodded. He took a couple deep breaths then said, "I'm sorry about what I said a few days ago. I'm not friends with you or Hiwatari-kun just out of pity. I really do care about Hiwatari-kun and I want to get know you. What I said was completely out of line."
Sayuri grinned. "Don't worry, I already know. Nii-san said you apologised to him just before you kissed him but it's nice of you to apologise to me too."
Daisuke looked at Sayuri with a slight frown. That was… easy.
"I just wanted to tell you," she continued, "that I only want the best for Nii-san. He and Krad are kinda the only family I've ever known and I want to protect that."
"Of course," Daisuke said, "I'd do the same for Dark and my family."
"Yeah, so no matter what happens, if you ever hurt Nii-san again, I'll never forgive you."
Sayuri said that with a sweet smile on her face that it sent chills down his spine.
"R-right," he said, "of course."
"Great. Now that we have that sorted, Nii-san's currently back in our room getting things organised for tonight. He wanted me to tell you and Dark to be careful."
"Don't worry, we will."
"Great, because he really doesn't want to have to arrest you in front of the class."
Daisuke laughed nervously. He'd try and get a little sleep back at the hotel this afternoon but then he'd need to go over the plan with Dark in detail. With such a risky scenario, he really didn't want anything to go wrong.

Satoshi sat cross-legged on his bed with his laptop in front of him. Blueprints of the hotel were displayed on the screen and he analysed every inch of it for potential security flaws and traps he could set. He didn't know why Dark thought it was a good idea to stage a heist while they were on a school trip but there was no time left for complaints. The heist was tonight.
(That Mousey has always been a show-off,) Krad said.
(Will you help?) Satoshi asked as he wrote down some notes in a black notebook.
(To capture Dark? Always.)
(Without magic?)
(As much as I care for you, Satoshi-sama, I cannot make promises.)
Satoshi sighed. It was a longshot anyway. The Niwas may have a familiar that could transform into Dark's wings but while he didn't, he'd have to put up with the pain.
(Hopefully, Kokuyoku will behave tonight,) Krad said.
(Just depends. Niwa-kun hasn't found his sacred maiden just yet.)
(But he confessed to his maiden yesterday. You have yet to respond.)
Satoshi felt his face heat up. (I'm not a 'maiden' and I don't know how to respond.)
(I think it's obvious how you should respond.)
Satoshi glared at his laptop screen. (Why are you so interested in my love life? If I say yes to Niwa-kun's feelings then you'll be sealed away with Dark.)
(I only want the best for you.)
(And you think Niwa-kun can give me that?)
Krad was silent. Satoshi honestly wasn't sure that whatever Daisuke could give him was the best. For so long he hadn't even known what a proper family was and even now that he was getting along with Krad and he had Sayuri, he still wasn't sure what it was. If he accepted Daisuke's feelings, would he be happy?
(You'll have to take a risk,) Krad replied at length.
Satoshi scoffed. Take a risk on Daisuke? Someone who, until yesterday, had been straight and in love with his girlfriend? What were the chances that he could actually end up happy? And aside from that…
(What about Dark?) Satoshi asked.
It took Krad a moment to respond.
(What about Dark?) he said eventually.
(I'm not stupid. The position Niwa-kun and I found ourselves in yesterday was pretty intimate. That's not even to mention the history you and he have together. 300 years together and you've always hated him? I don't believe it.)
(You…) Krad hissed and Satoshi knew that he'd pissed him off. (You have no idea what you're talking about.)
(Maybe you should take your own advice. If he confesses to you, you should take a risk and accept his feelings. You might actually be happy.)
(That word is not in my vocabulary.)
Satoshi smirked. (I suppose you're right. I couldn't even image you with a smile on your face.)
Satoshi felt Krad's anger and the blonde retreated into a corner of his mind to sulk. Maybe he should take a risk on Daisuke. At least then he'd be setting a good example for Krad.
-D N Angel-
With this being the last night of the school trip, Takeshi was determined to make the most of it. After this, the only time he'd be getting to see all his lovely classmates in their swimsuits was during PE, and only during summer. So for the entire afternoon, he was planning to spend it on the beach, watching his female classmates and maybe even join in a game of volleyball if one was started up.
He'd wanted Daisuke to join him but the redhead claimed he was 'too tired' and wanted to go nap in his room. It was an understandable excuse, seeing as he probably just wanted to avoid Riku. And, indeed, after avoiding both the morning run and the nature walk, she was down at the beach, sitting next to Risa. She looked… a bit sad maybe and her eyes were red. Risa had probably dragged her out of the room to get some Vitamin D.
He was still somewhat confused over the whole situation. Sure, he never thought Daisuke and Riku would've lasted past middle school. And sure, Riku had been a bit antagonistic towards Satoshi and Sayuri. But, especially with Daisuke's moping over the past few days over his break up with Satoshi, he didn't expect his friend to dump Riku in such a public forum, or in the way he did. It just wasn't like him.
Takeshi could only chalk up the whole situation to them being on a school trip. Weird things happened when people were on holiday. Maybe when they all got back, Daisuke would be back to his normal, boring old self. He might even regret breaking up with Riku then, but he would make sure they didn't get back together. Sure, they made a cute couple but it just wasn't destiny.
Now, depending on whether Daisuke ever properly made up with her or not, Sayuri could be Daisuke's destiny. He may have only teased Daisuke about it in the past, but he felt they could really have something together. Well, either her or her brother but he didn't think his friend would be quite as interested in Satoshi as he was his sister.
Takeshi leant back on his elbows and eyed some girls who were sunbathing. Maybe when they all got back to Azumano, he'd have a chat with Daisuke about his love life. It seemed to be more confusing than algebra.

Daisuke pulled on the large shirt then frowned at himself in the mirror. The clothes were stylish and almost completely in black. His mother had designed them specifically for Dark's heist tonight which meant that no doubt Dark would look great when he went to steal the target but they just weren't his style. Not to mention, they were too big for him.
(You just need to have confidence,) Dark said. (You're gonna look great tonight.)
(You're gonna look great tonight. It's too obvious,) Daisuke replied.
(You only need to wear it for a little bit. The time on the Warning Notice is eight-thirty, the disco starts eight. Just hang about for half an hour, maybe stick in the corner then slip out when you need to.)
Daisuke sighed. If he had even just a little more time to plan something he'd be fine. Why couldn't his mother have told him about the whole thing before he left?
There a knock on the bathroom door and Takeshi asked, "You coming, Daisuke?"
"Yeah, I'll be out in a moment," Daisuke called.
Daisuke looked at his outfit once more and sighed.
(This whole night is going to be a disaster.)
-D N Angel-
"This whole night is going to be a disaster!" Sayuri said, collapsing onto the bed beside Satoshi.
Satoshi continued typing at his laptop without moving. "You can go down if you want. There's nothing stopping you."
"I don't want to go down without you, though. Don't you need to be there, anyway? For the heist?"
"There's still some time before the time listed on the Warning Notice. Dark won't be early."
"This is going to be too easy for him. There's almost no security at this place."
"The painting he's targeting is hung in the room where the disco's being held. Daisuke's classmates will be enough to make him cautious, all we have to do from there is distract then ambush him. Krad will do the rest."
Sayuri sat up and leant on her brother, smiling. "So you're actively working with Krad then. That's progress!"
Satoshi turned pink. "You'll help as well, right?"
"Of course!" Sayuri said. She stood up and walked over to the bathroom to start doing her hair. "And while you're being a grump in the corner I'll hopefully actually be having fun on the dancefloor."
"And if all goes well, Kokuyoku won't interfere."
Sayuri hummed in agreement. She'd seen a couple of Dark's heists on TV before and she was sure this one was going to be a lot different to how they usually were. But she had enough faith in her brother and Krad that all would turn out well in the end.
Slytherin – Fanatic 911: Sorry for the delay in getting this finished. I decided at the beginning of this year, though, that I was going to finally tie up all my loose ends in the DNA fandom and with Junai Angels done, that just leaves NV2 and The Thief's Escape left. I have the rest of the fic done, so I'll post the other chapters over the next few days. Thanks for sticking with me so far!
P.S Would you believe that I actually finished this at the beginning of February and the last couple chapters are just sitting on my harddrive, unedited? I am very lazy.
