Hello, if you had read this FanFic before I made a change then you might have a few spoilers. The reason I made the change is because I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to convey a story into words. The changes will be Tomori's background, some character personality, the way the story went, etc. You can go to the author's note if you want to hear my plea.
And I'm also planning to release a series of FanFic called Centurion Extra (If I'm not lazy and had time), which explains some of the characters background, an extra chapter that's related to this FanFic or a what-if chapter. I will also try to post a chapter that exceeds 8000 words.
Chapter 1: Isekai Exist?
"Huh… Who the f*ck owns this much book?" A young man said while distressed because he had to clean up the storage room full of books.
His name is Tomori Tanaka. Just a 21 year old university student. And right now, he's at his aunt's house who's almost two decades older than him. Actually, she's the one who has been taking care of him since Tomori's parents died in an accident when he was only 5 years old.
"It's been almost 16 years since I moved in here. And I never had to step into this room. I wonder why…" He thought as his aunt forbade him from entering this room until today. "Meh. Just clean this room a little bit and call it a day."
Tomori goes to pick up a box on a shelf. As he picks up the box, he feels something is going to hit his head.
"!"
He evaded it.
Crackle*
He heard a sound of wood smashed to the ground.
"Sh*t bruv. If that hit my head, I would have forgotten about myself."
He gets closer to broken wood.
"It's a box with locks. But the thing that's inside is already out. I hope this isn't an expensive box… Ain't no way this is an expensive box. Why an expensive box here in the first place?"
He picked up the box and saw there's two books inside of it. One looks like a diary while another one looks like a story book.
"Okay…" He looks around to check whether his aunt has come home. When he's finished, he opens up the diary. "Sorry Toshi-nee…" He said as he opened up the diary.
He started reading the diary. "… What?" This is something Tomori had expected. "Blade Hero? Magic Hero? Vassal Heroes?"
He keeps on reading. "Inventory System, Drop System, Crafting System, Weapon Copy System and Power Up Method…" As he read the diary, he noticed that this isn't just a normal diary. "Is it a game guide?"
He read through all the pages quickly. He's able to memorize the pages because he has photographic memory when it doesn't involve anything academic related.
"Toshika Akane, the Blade Hero. Akihide Midoriya, the Magic Hero." That's from the Holy Heroes list. Toshika Akane is Tomori's cousin.
"Rust, the Armor Hero. Daela, the Ring Hero…" That's the name of the Vassal Heroes. But two other names have been erased. Which is the Shield Hero and the Wand Hero.
"Huh…" He turned to the story book.
"The Record of the Four Cardinal Heroes: Centurion…"
He opened the book and read through it quickly. But he stopped as he find the other pages were blank.
"Hmm… Magic Hero is a knowledgeable person, Projectile Hero is a diligent person, Shaft Hero is a person who is loyal to his comrades and Blade Hero is a person who is full of wit."
He noticed that the description of the Blade Hero is almost the same as his aunt. "She can outsmart my outsmarting. But how come-"
As he thinks, there's a glowing light surrounding him.
"Ah, sh*t-" He instantly knew what's happening to him at that moment.
"Oh wow…"
"What's all this…"
"What the…"
"Ugh… My back…" Tomori groaned. He stood up from the ground. "Where the hell am I at right now?"
He never thought that he would get isekaied. As he always believed, it doesn't exist. Not until this moment. But why does his aunt have a book that can transfer people to another world?
Tomori then looked around his surroundings and saw some guys in robes in front of him. That's not all. It seems like he wasn't the only one who was summoned.
One is a tall blonde man with golden eyes, and two girls who looked like they were in high school. One of the girls has dark blue hair with azure eyes while the other girl has a black hair with brown eyes.
"Seems like all of them is asian, or according to the Isekai bullsh*t plot, a Japanese like me. Besides the black haired girl, the other two people look… Unique? I mean, do they dye their hair and wear colored contacts? But that's not all…"
Tomori saw that they all had a weapon.
"The blondie has a spear with a yellow gemstone, the blue haired girl has a bow with blue gemstone, the black haired girl has a staff and I have…" He searches for a weapon on his body. There's a long sword with red gemstone attached to his waist like a magnet.
"Spear, bow, staff and long sword… In other words, the spear because it has a shaft, the bow because it uses arrows as a projectile, the staff because it's related to magic and the sword because it has a blade. Looks like I'm in a world with a similar description to the book."
Then he realised something. "Don't tell me she already went here?!" As he figured it out, he saw something in his vision.
"Isn't it me or there's a tiny box on the bottom left of my vision?"
Tomori stared at the box then it suddenly let out a beep sound.
Beep*
"It's like a game…" Tomori saw a menu on his screen. "Status, Weapon Tree, Skill Tree, Magic Tree, Inventory, Help Menu, etc…"
He was confused by the fact that there's a game system in the world that was based on fantasy books. He decided to check his status first.
Tomori Tanaka
Level: 1
Age: 21
Race: Human
Magic Affinity: Unknown
Job: Blade Hero
Equipment: Small Sword
Other-World Clothes
Skill: None
Spell: None
"Stats are okay for level 1, but I think my magic stats are low. Maybe it's because I'm the Blade Hero, not the Magic Hero. But why there's Luck in the stats?"
As he questioned this, he heard one of the robed guys talk.
"Oh Heroes, please save our world!" The robed guys suddenly said.
"What?!" All of them except Tomori and the blue haired girl shouted simultaneously.
"Damn, I thought these guys weren't surprised by this. Maybe they didn't watch isekai that much. Especially that blondie. He looks like a normie."
"What's that supposed to mean?" The blue haired girl asks the robed guys.
"To offer a simple answer to your questions, we have just completed an ancient ceremony to summon the Holy Heroes." One of them replied.
"Our world is on the brink of destruction. Heroes, please lend us your strength!" All of the robed guys started kneeling in front of them.
"Okay… These guys here quote on quote 'summoned' us here so that they can put us in the front for whatever disaster that they're facing. That's some bullsh*t my friend. If they ain't paying me, I ain't gonna work. But maybe they had a lot of resources that they had prepared for us. But if that isn't the case, they can just threaten us to work since we're level 1. If that's the case, I would get the hell outta here first."
"Well…" The black haired girl started speaking. "I guess we could-"
"I don't think so."
"Yeah, me either."
Both of the blondie and blue haired girl said before the black haired girl could finish speaking.
"What are both of them doing? Don't they know that they can clap us to the shadow realms if we don't behave?" Tomori thought to himself. He doesn't want to be clapped into the shadow realm.
"You guys are just going to send us back after we dealt with your problems, right? That sounds like free labor to me." The blondie said.
"I have to agree with that."
"I hope all of you understand that I don't have time to do some work without any proper compensation. Depending on how this goes on… We could become the very enemy of-"
"Hold up just a sec." Tomori said. "Both of you know that we're level 1, right?" Tomori asked both the blondie and the blue haired girl. Even though he isn't a very talkative person, he knows when someone is going to far.
"Wait, we're level 1?!" The blondie said.
Tomori just facepalm his face. "Haven't you guys checked your status? And also, threatening only works when you know that the one you're threatening is weaker than you. And since we're level 1, they can just poof us with a single magic spell. So I suggest you guys shut your mouth off and respect the gentleman in front of us."
Tomori turns to the robed guys. "So can we see the king or any individual who is the leader of this country?"
"Ah, yes." One of the robed guys opened a huge door and gestured to them to follow him.
Tomori is the first one to move. Then, the three of them follow him.
After walking for so damn long, they finally stand in front of the individual who looks like a king.
"So this is the hero of the legends…" The king said.
"?" Tomori saw the king glancing at him. "Why does he stare at me like that? Is it me or does the king here give the same vibe as that guy?… Maybe it's my imagination."
"My name is Aleksander Welle the XXI, and I'm the king of this country. Now then, I shall begin with an explanation. This country, no, this whole world is on the brink of destruction."
"Well, here goes some long *ss explanation."
The world gets hit by disasters called Wave of Destruction that hit every few centuries. When the wave starts, it will hit every one month. The kingdom has decided to summon us, the Four Cardinal Heroes.
"Uh-huh, in other words, you wanted us to work for free, isn't it-" Before that blondie could finish, Tomori interrupted him.
"Oi, remember what I said back then. We are level 1. L-E-V-E-L 1. Don't act like you're the only hero here." Tomori turned to the king. "I'm sorry for his rudeness, your highness."
Tomori saw that the blondie got irritated. "Heh, your not the only hot sh*t here, blondie."
"Hmm… Worry not, Blade Hero. I had already planned to richly compensate all of the heroes for your efforts."
The blondie seems happy about it while the girls just stay neutral.
"Very well then. Heroes, tell us your name." The king said.
"I'll go first." The blondie stepped in front. "My name is Tadashi Kaneshiro. I'm 18 years old and a university student."
"Around 175 cm, has an Ikemen face, and has an easy going personality… If this guy has tanned skin, he would be your generic NTR guy. Yep, I can't get along with him."
After Tadashi introduced himself, the blue haired girl stepped in front.
"My name is Reika Ishikawa. I'm 16 years old and I'm still a high school student."
"She gave out a tomboyish vibe. She probably does sports. She is around 165 cm. And unlike Tadashi, maybe I can get along with her."
After that, the black haired girl stepped in front.
"Um… My name is Akira Sato. I'm 17 years old and a high school student."
"She looked like a very timid girl considering she's around 160 cm, but she looked like a very smart girl. Maybe she's the serious type when it comes to studying. I can get along well with nerds. So it's fine, I guess."
"My name is Tomori Tanaka. I'm 21 years old and I'm a third year university student." I said confidently. "Seems like I'm the boomer in the group."
"…"
"Why is the king staring at me? Is it me or do I sense a disturbance in the force?"
"Now then, Kaneshiro-sama, Ishikawa-sama, Sato-sama and Tanaka-sama, correct?" The king asked.
All of them nodded our heads.
"Now then, Heroes. Please confirm your status." The king continued.
"Excuse me, how do we check our status?" Tadashi asked.
"Haven't you guys noticed anything the moment we arrived here?" Reika said.
"See the icon on the bottom left of your vision? Stare at it for a while and it will make a beep sound indicating that you have opened your status." Tomori said.
"Just like he said." Reika nodded.
"I'm really at level one? What a pain…" Tadashi said.
"What do you expect? That all of us will become level 100 the moment we're summoned? This isn't that kind of isekai plot, bruv. If you want to get stronger, just grind up your levels." Tomori said to him.
"He's right. If you want to get stronger, then just go level up." Reika said to support Tomori's statement.
"Why can't we just use different weapons until this one gets stronger?" Tadashi said while spinning his spear.
"If you didn't know…" Tomori tried to release his sword from his hand, but it still stuck to his hand like a magnet. "We can't release these weapons from our body. And also, didn't you see there's a 'Weapon Tree' menu on our status?"
"That's right," Akira suddenly joined the conversation. "If that's the case, maybe we can use different weapons, or perhaps… our weapons can transform."
"What?" Tomori is confused by this. A transforming weapon? The thing that comes to his mind is the anime Noragami.
"Think about it… Ishikawa-san is the Projectile Hero. And she has a bow which launches arrows as the projectile." Akira continued.
Then, a lightbulb appears on Tomori's head. "Are you saying that she can transform her weapon into anything that can launch a projectile? Like a crossbow, cannon, ballista and even… Guns?"
"Theoretical, yes." She replied.
"Any comments about it?" He turned to Reika.
"She's right on the mark. We do have the Weapon Copy System after all."
"Weapon Copy System?" Akira said.
"Wait, Weapon Copy System? The diary mentioned it."
" Clear Throat* Heroes, I suggest you keep the personal conversation to yourself." The king's advisor said.
"Can we just form a party then?" Tadashi, despite being ignored by the other heroes, tried to contribute to the conversation.
"He's right. If we look at it, we have our own role that can make us a balanced party."
"Unfortunately, that can't happen. According to the legends, The Legendary Weapons you possess will interfere with one another should you form a party. Both your weapons and yourselves can only grow when you are apart from one another." The king's advisor said.
"What?" Tomori opened his help menu.
Attention: The Legendary Weapons and their owners will experience adverse effects if they fight together.
Caution: It is preferable that the Heroes and weapons are used individually.
"I guess the 'adverse effect' is not being able to level up if we near each other."
"I will attempt to secure travel companions for you all. Regardless, evening draws near. Heroes, you should rest for the night and prepare for departure on the morrow. In the meantime, I will find companions for you." The king said.
All of the heroes thanked the king
After having an audience with the king, the heroes were led by the attendant to go to the guest room. Tomori lay down on one of the sofas inside the room and started to remember what he had read before he came here.
"…"
Beep* Beep* Beep*
There's a lot of beeping sound in his head, indicating that he has unlocked the things that he had read beforehand.
"Can't believe you put something like that in the storage room, Toshi-nee… Does she expect me to just find that book and transport me here? That doesn't seem like it… Maybe I should try to find if there's any document related to her…"
Tomori the opened his Help Menu to look at the new section that just appeared.
Holy Weapons:
Blade Weapon Power-up Method:
Sharing And Understanding:
By sharing powerup methods with each other, the powerup methods work better.
Mastery Level:
As the user uses a weapon form more and more frequently, it gradually increases in power until it is fully mastered (indicated by it attaining a Mastery Level of 100 in its stats).
Energy Transfer:
The user can reset the mastery level of a given weapon form to obtain energy. This energy is added to a free-floating pool that can be applied to a weapon form to "Awaken" it, which increases its stats and can unlock new abilities.
Quality Up:
The energy from the floating pool can be applied to the rarity of the weapon, raising it from Normal - Good - Great - Excellent - Divine. Has a chance to fail.
Magic Tool Power-up Method:
Magic Level Link:
As the Hero levels up, all spells will grow stronger alongside them.
Trust:
Trusting someone, the hero and the one they trust, gains strength. By being trusted in turn, the hero is further strengthened.
EP Boost:
Allows the user to boost the efficacy of skills and magic with Ki. The user can also enchant other things.
Weapon Form Synthesis:
Allows the hero to copy the most symbolic special effect from one form to another. Each weapon has a given number of ability slots, but also a specific counter that informs you exactly how many more times that form can be used as synthesis material. Once this counter hits 0, the form is effectively locked out to power up methods. It can still be used as a weapon form, but is stuck at its base form and can't be upgraded until you absorb the materials needed to unlock it again.
Vassal Heroes:
Shield Power-up Method:
Weapon Evolution:
By converting items or mastery level of a certain weapon form into Evolution Points, you can rank up the weapon from rank I to X. Each rank can improve existing special effects or unlock new ones, as well as increase its stats.
Armor Power-up Method:
Revised Edition:
By picking up a currently existing weapon form with higher quality, you can scan its 'quality tag and upgrade the weapon form with its new stats and, to a lesser degree, appearance.
Ring Power-up Method:
Growth Revision:
You can sacrifice levels for stat boosts that will be applied once you relevel. Can be used on companions with their consent.
Wand Power-up Method:
Magic Rank:
Gain Magic Points on level up that can be allocated to a known spell to boost its efficacy, and it applies a suffix ranging from I to X depending on how many are added. After a cooldown of 24 hours after applying the points, the points are able to be removed from the spell and reallocated.
"Why can't my brain remember something like a mathematics equation or something more important. I guess I'm not suited to study…"
As he navigated his status magic with his mind, Akira decided to break the silence.
"Hey, this is just like a game, don't you think?" She said.
"Like a game? I think this is an actual game. I know a game like this." Tadashi said while he's sitting on the sofa. "I think this is Citrine Online. It's a pretty famous game."
"No, you're wrong." Reika suddenly said. "This is a VRMMORPG game titled Century Progression Online."
"What?! VRMMORPG? You mean like a game that lets you dive inside of it?" Tadashi asked.
"Yes. VR games are everywhere. And I've never heard about Citrine Online before." She said.
"Never did I think about Century Progression Online. How about you, uh…"
"You can just call me Akira."
"Okay then, so Akira-chan, have you heard about Citrine Online?"
"No, I did not. Either about the Century Progression Online…"
"I see… How about you?" Tadashi asked Tomori.
"Huh?" He was busy navigating his status magic, but he heard enough to continue the discussion. "Nope. And you said that this world is similar to a game that you guys played, right? Do you get sucked into the game or what?" He asked both of them.
Reika just stayed silent while Tadashi just started sweating a little.
"Okay, let's start interrogating you guys one by one. I'm just gonna cut the first name basis. Reika, about this VR tech, is it a norm in your world? And what year is it in your world?" Tomori asked her.
"Yes. Almost everyone in Japan has a device that can let them dive into the VR world. And it's 2024"
"I see. And Tadashi, what year is it in your world?"
"Huh? It's 2012."
"Okay then, and Akira, does your world have something that you think we didn't have?"
"I think so…"
"Well then, that concludes it." Tomori said while he's laying down on the sofa.
"What is it?" Tadashi asked.
"We're not from a different timeline, but rather from a different universe."
"What?!" He was shocked to hear that.
"I'm from 2023. And I have never heard anything about Citrine Online and VR tech being a norm in the next year. And can you tell us what in your world has something that you think we didn't have?" He asked Akira.
"Uhm… Do you guys know anything about psychic powers?"
"Psychic powers?" Tadashi said confusedly.
But Tomori and Reika knew what she meant by that.
"So, in short, you come from a world where some of the earth population has psychic powers or something?" Tomori said.
"Precisely." She replied.
"I see… Mind telling us what your powers are?"
"It's called Aura. It lets me see other people's 'aura' to determine their health by checking their life force surrounding them."
Tomori thought it was some OP power like telekinesis or something better than that. But psychic powers are psychic powers. Either you have one or don't have any.
"Okay then, since we know where we came from, let's cut to the next point. How do we get here? Is there anyone who wants to start first?" Tomori asked them. Aside from Akira, both Reika and Tadashi seem anxious about it.
" Sigh* I'll start first. I was cleaning up the storage room at my house when a wooden box with books almost fell over my head. I read the book and I noticed that I was surrounded by light. After that, I'm here." He left the details about the guide book.
"May I ask what book you read?"
"Oh, it's The Record of the Four Cardinal Heroes: Centurion. What, don't tell me that you get here the same way as I do?"
Akira nodded at his question. "But I found that book at my school library."
"Ah, that's why she's still in her school uniform…" Tomori thought to himself. "Do you find any other book that is related to that book?"
"No. I just read the book, got surrounded by light and instantly summoned here."
"Gotcha. We have discussed how we're here. How about you two?" He motioned to both Reika and Tadashi. Tomori saw they're reluctant to speak about it. Until Reika spoke up.
"I was going to an event where you can get DLC for CPO with some of my friends. But then the goddess of luck has pulled over, I guess. I heard that there's some crazy sicko going on murder spree. And unfortunately… We stumbled upon him. I remember him going for my friend first." Reika started rubbing her stomach. "I remember that she was alright and that sicko got arrested…"
"I see… With that kind of backstory, she deserved to be here."
"Ok, I guess I'm next." Tadashi said. "I have… a few girlfriends."
"I see…"
As soon as he said that, the girls started giving him looks.
"And well…"
"Did they stab you because you couldn't choose either one of them?" Tomori said that as a joke.
But it wasn't for Tadashi. "Well… Girls are terrifying."
"Okay, he's 10.000.000% doesn't have any right to be here. Like, getting killed by your girlfriends doesn't mean that you can go to Isekai. Who the fuck make the system here?"
As Tomori regained his composure, he began to think. "Both of them died and they had information about this world while I only know about the mechanics of this sword that I'm holding. If I'm right, they might have a Power Up Method that I could use."
" Clear Throat* It seems like both me and Akira didn't have any experience in this world while both of you have been through your games. Might let us know some tips and tricks?" He said in his cutesy voice. He's slowly dying from cringeyness.
"Sorry, but information must be attained by oneself. So I can give any information to you." Reika said.
"Huh? But this involves a live and dead situation right here. Come on, at least a little information would help us a bit." He continued. But then he realised something. "Don't tell me… You think this is a game?"
"Huh? Isn't that obvious. It even has a game menu. Of course it's a game." Tadashi said.
Tomori stood up from the sofa. "Tadashi, let's say that if you get knocked out by a strong monster, where would you be after that?"
"Either the spawn point or a hospital. Why do you ask?"
"Reika, is it the same to you?" He asked her. She just nodded.
"Ok. It has been confirmed." Tomori then put up his most bland looking face. "You guys are a bunch of idiots."
"What?!" Tadashi was just shocked by hearing that while Reika just stood silently.
"Yes. Think about it. Both of you die and get teleported to a world that's the same as your game. This is something you have to think about. This is not a game. Those people are not a bunch of NPC. They're living beings. Every sweat that comes out from our body and the injury we received here is real. So stop with your delusion that this is a game."
Reika started thinking about it. But Tadashi ain't having it.
"But this is a game world! What do you know about it?"
"I don't. That's why I asked for some information. What I want is a way to get this weapon stronger. But I guess you don't have anything to tell me about it. Heck, maybe the info from your game here is false."
"No it's not! Let me tell you how you can get your weapon stronger." Tadashi then started telling them about his game Power Up Method.
After hearing what he wanted, Tomori started to apply the Power Up Method. "Seems like I need to know where the method of the weapon comes from and trust that it exists. That blondie is the type of guy who wouldn't lie too much. Which makes my job easier…"
Beep*
Holy Weapons:
Shaft Weapon Power-up Method:
Quality Power:
The higher the weapons quality, the stronger it is. Weapons made out of the same material will have different stats depending on the quality.
Smelting:
Through the use of gems, heroes can upgrade a weapon form to increase its stats. Has no upper cap and a chance to fail. As the smelting level rises, the odds of successfully smelting it again decreases. If it fails, the refining level zeroes out and heroes have to start over from 0.
Item Enchantment:
By converting items and monster drops into energy, you can add a new enchantment to any given weapon form. Once applied, the enchantment can be upgraded, but only has a percent chance to succeed in upgrading.
Bonus Status Level:
Using the same energy, you can increase a bonus to a given status. Once this is done, a cooldown is in place, and each successive level requires more energy.
Tomori just slightly smirked. Reika saw this and thought to herself. "No way… He could use whatever that Tadashi said…" She tried to apply the methods, but nothing happened.
"Oh, there it is. It appears on my Help Menu." Akira said while navigating her status magic.
"See? It means that the game information is true." Tadashi said.
"Yeah." Tomori said. "Okay, this means that this girl here is too trusting with people. Definitely not a good thing here." Tomori thought to himself.
"What? She can use it too?" Reika then saw Tomori's eyes heading towards her. She instantly knew that he wanted to know about her game's power up method. But then an attendant opens the door of this room.
"Heroes, we have prepared dinner for you."
They all looked at the attendant.
"Well then, talking makes me starve." Tomori then leaves the room to follow the attendant. The other heroes also follow the attendant.
All of the heroes have arrived at the dining hall where a lot of another world's cuisine has been served to them. All of them take a seat while Tomori takes a seat a little bit further from the heroes. He also asked for some blank papers, ink and a quill for some reason.
"Hmm…" Reika has been staring at him across her table. She thinks that this guy is onto something. Then she saw that Tomori stood up from his seat and walked to her table. "What's he doing?"
He then takes a seat at her table. He then looked left and right. "Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you, can you tell me about your methods?"
"I see…" She already knew that he wanted the methods from her. "But what can you offer me?"
"I can offer you all of the power up methods that I know of."
"And I thought that you don't have any information about this world."
"No, I really am clueless about this world. Though I learned about my weapon mechanics and Power Up Method through another way."
Reika looked at his face. "He looks like he isn't lying. But he may have practised so that his facial expression doesn't show that he's lying."
Tomori saw her facial reaction and just sighed. He then handed her a paper.
"What's this?" She asked.
"Power Up Methods. Mine, Akira's, and four that come from something that is called 'Vassal Weapon'."
"Wait, how do you get her method?"
"I already said that I acquired it through another way. And it seems like she doesn't know about it either."
She took a look at the paper that was written in Japanese and English. "This doesn't seem like something that you can make up in a few minutes." She then turned to Tomori. "How do you use these methods?"
"Simple. Just know where it comes from and believe it exists."
"Huh? Is it that simple? I tried that but it didn't work at all."
"Maybe you didn't believe harder."
"How does someone believe something 'harder'?" She asked him.
"Hmm…" He's in deep thought. "I think it's because you still think this is that VR game that you speak off."
"Huh?"
"Think about it. You get transferred to another world after you die. And you exactly entered a world which has the same game mechanics as your beloved game. Which means that you really didn't believe it if someone said that there's another game mechanic you didn't know of."
"I see…" It's not that the method doesn't work, but she doesn't truly believe that the method exists in the first place.
"By the way, the methods?"
"Wait a sec…" She takes the paper and reads it. "He writes it in both Japanese and English. Though I think his handwriting needs improvement."
She read the EP Boost method and decided to believe it. "Come on…"
Beep*
"Is that…" There's an EP Bar under her SP Bar. "There it is…"
"Oh, did the method work? Did you test the EP Boost first?" Tomori asked.
"What?! How did he know that?"
"Oh, when you don't talk so much, you gain the ability to get a read on a person." Tomori answered the questions that Reika was thinking of.
"That's weird… It's like you have some psychic powers that Akira is speaking of back then."
"No, it's just a gut feeling."
"Really…" She wanted to test how good his 'gut feeling' is. "Can you tell me what kind of school that I went to?"
"Huh? That's easy. You went to an all-girls school, right?"
She's surprised that he knows that. "How do you know it?"
"Eh, my aunt used to go to an all-girls school and I have a lot of acquaintances from university that went to the same type of school. So I instantly knew it. And by the way, I think Akira went to an elite school for smart people judging from her attire. Or maybe she went to an elite school for people who have psychic powers."
"Wait, wait, how do you know this stuff from only 'gut feeling'?"
"Reika," He changed to a serious tone. "When you read too many manga about highschool romance, you can instantly find out about it."
"Is that so? How about Tadashi then? How your gut feeling about him."
"Meh, he's just a blondie normie who looks down on otaku. That's what my gut feeling tells me. I recommend you don't stay near him for too long. He may do something nasty to you."
"Really? How about you then?"
"Me? Just stay away from me unless you really need to talk to me. I'm not as dangerous as that guy, but I can still be dangerous to anyone."
"I see… From what I get from you, you're a pretty weird guy."
"Correction. A humorous weird guy. And I think we are getting off topic now. Can you just tell me your methods, please?"
"Okay, here…" She tells him about her weapon method. Every time she finished telling him, Tomori instantly registered the method.
Holy Weapons:
Projectile Weapon Power-up Method:
Skill Level Link:
As the Hero levels up, all skills will grow stronger alongside them.
Monster Encyclopedia:
Grants the user a variety of attribute bonuses dependent on the materials stored within the weapon. In addition, completing a monster's drop list will provide additional bonuses.
Spirit Enchantment:
Pieces of monster souls can be used to imbue a weapon form with special powers.
Status Enchantment:
Items or pieces of monster souls can also be used to imbue a weapon form with a status boost, like a boost to attack or magic. The outcome is random. You can remove and replace the enhancement until you obtain a desired one.
"After all this day, finally, I have them all." Tomori just let out a satisfied smirk.
"Yep, he's a weird guy." Akira said in her mind as she saw Tomori smiling.
"Ah, don't forget to share the methods with both of them." Tomori points at both Akira and Tadashi. "Akira is easy as she believes everything that we tell her. And Tadashi might be a hard case. But hey, you're a girl. Maybe he will trust you."
"Ugh… Can't you just tell him yourself?"
"No, a normie will always look down on otaku. I've experienced it before. Not a really good memory."
"What happened?" She asked.
"I beat up the normie." Tomori said with a straight face.
"Okay, this guy is weird and also dangerous."
"To be fair though, he started the fight and I just beat him up for interrupting my leisure time. But I managed to get away from punishment because that normie always caused trouble for other students."
"Okay…" At least she knows that he isn't a guy who beats people for fun.
" Yawn* I guess it's time for me to sleep. See you tomorrow." He stood up from the chair and walked away from the table. But he stopped midway and turned to face Reika. "Remember, this is not a game as much as you wanted to believe it. Every action, good or bad, will have its own consequences. If you bleed, you bleed. If you died, then you're dead. Please say this to both of them as well." He then continued to walk, leaving the dining hall.
Reika just looked at the palm of her hands and clenched it. "If this is not a game, then what kind of world did I get transferred to…"
" Yawn*" Tomori opens the windows next to his bed in the room that the attendant has readied for him. "That's a good sleep. A really good sleep to the point that I felt like someone was watching me sleep yesterday. Eh, maybe it's nothing."
He stood up from the bed and left the room. He headed straight to the dining hall and saw that he's the only hero who's there.
"Okay, I might have woken up too early." He picks up a plate, puts whatever food that he finds nutritious to start the day and takes a seat at an empty table. After a while, another person entered the dining hall.
"Oh, Tomori." It was Akira followed by Reika.
"Seems like you had woken up early." Reika said to him.
"Ain't you guys supposed to be woken up earlier than me? You guys are supposed to be high school students. You can't be out-woken up by a university student like me who usually sleeps at 2 am."
"Why even stay awake until 2 am?" Reika asked.
"Usually it's either manga or anime. Sometimes, I think about life choices I made a few years back. Let me tell you, university sucks if you don't have any group to hang out with."
"So what do you do if you don't have any friends?"
Tomori then showed a serious expression. "You wouldn't want to know."
"Right…" Reika can pretty much guess what he meant by that.
"Oh, by the way, I wanted to thank you about the methods." Akira said to him. "Though you can just tell it straight to us."
"Sometimes, showing is better than explaining. All you need to know is about the methods. And did Tadashi even read the paper?"
"Um… He read it and tried to apply it, but he said that it doesn't work for him."
"Ugh… That blondie normie… Just believe and you will succeed."
"I will try to convince him that the methods work." Akira said with determination.
"Yeah…"
Both Akira and Reika then picked up their food and sat at the table that Tomori was sitting at. Few minutes later, Tadashi enters the dining hall just to see all three of them sitting at the same table. He then decided to sit with them.
Tomori then started a conversation about hunting grounds. He wanted for them to be near each other so that they can gain EXP peacefully. They also discussed about the location of certain shop at the Castle Town.
Then, an attendant came by to the dining hall to go to the royal chamber to meet their future companions.
All of them arrived at the door to the royal chamber.
"Heroes, come in." The king said.
All of them went inside. They all saw 12 adventurers with some of them having their own equipment.
"And it seems like there's a few knights in the group. I guess if there's 12 of them, then we will get three members each."
"Now then, gathered adventurers. Choose the hero that you wished to embark on an adventure with." The king said.
"And this is the time that I'm f*cked."
All of the heroes form a line. And as Tomori expected…
"Reika has five people, Tadashi has four people and Akira has 3 people. And me? F*cking zero."
"Hmm… I didn't expect this to happen…" The king said.
"Well, I thought that THIS might not happen. Even though I'm in a different world, I guess some things never change."
"It's fine. I'm used to this. Though I hope that you can give me some head start than the other heroes to help me geared myself." Tomori said to the king.
The king stared at Tomori for a bit and before he could speak, someone from Tadashi group raised her hands.
"Your highness, I will travel with the Blade Hero."
Tomori looks at the direction of the voice. And he saw a woman who radiated a lot of red flags.
"Beautiful face, slick figure and red hair… If I'm with her, I'm going to be casted aside the next day."
Tomori has experience when it comes to these kinds of women. So he knew that she had a bad intention to join him.
"Are you sure?" Tadashi asks her.
"Yes." Tadashi and the king were surprised.
"As I appreciate your consideration, miss. But I think it would be better for you to stay with Tadashi in order to help him level up."
"Really, Tomori? You're gonna outright reject her?" Tadashi asked him.
"Yes." Tomori said without any ounce of emotion in his tone. "I could handle a day or two without any companions."
"Okay… If you said so." Tadashi backed down.
"Very well." The king said. "Due to the Blade Hero circumstances, I will increase his monthly aid just this one than the other heroes."
The king waved his hand and the attendant came with a huge pouch of coins.
"Well then, the Blade Hero will receive 1000 silver coins while the other heroes will receive 700 silver coins. Use these coins well to equip yourself well and then begin your journey!"
"Yes!" All of the heroes and their new companions shout.
As he tried to leave the royal chamber, he was stopped by both Akira and Reika.
"Is there something that you need from me?" Tomori asked them.
"No, but are you going to be okay alone?" Akira said, sounding worried about him.
"I'm fine. I already know where to go."
"But why did you reject that girl from partying with you?" She asked.
"Akira, some people in this world can't be trusted. No matter how nice they're on the outside, they might have hidden something inside of them. Oh, and to answer your question, why would she wait until no one wanted to join my party? That's pretty sus. Am I right, Reika?" He turned to the tomboyish girl so that he could get some support.
"Yeah, I have to agree. She might have had a bad intention to join your party. Maybe it's a good thing that you reject her." She said.
"I see… If that's the case then I have nothing to say." Akira said.
"Well then, I think I should go now. Let fate decide our next encounter." Tomori then left the royal chamber.
"You think he's going to be okay?" Akira asked Reika.
"I think he will. He has some weird charm on him that can either make people like or hate him. Oh well, I have to discuss with my party on where we should head next."
"Yeah, me too."
Both of them then went to their respective parties.
"Okay, where's the weapon shop…"
Tomori roamed around Castle Town to find the weapon shop.
"Hmm… Is that the shop?"
The shop that Tomori is looking at has a sword signboard. Trusting his luck, Tomori went inside the shop.
"Welcome!" He was greeted by a bald middle aged man who seemed like a blacksmith.
Tomori then looked around the shop. There's a lot of weapons and armor displayed inside the shop. "Seems like I'm in the right place."
"Oh, a new customer with weird attire. How could I help you? The name is Vadge by the way." The blacksmith said.
"Wait, he says that Adidas is weird attire? Does he know how expensive these Firebird Tracksuits were?" Then he snapped back into reality. "Tomori. I need the strongest cheapest armor you could offer and maybe some weapons as well."
"Strongest cheapest armor? What do you mean by that?" Vadge questioned Tomori.
"I think I make myself clear. Oh, I'm the Blade Hero by the way." Tomori mimicked the way that Vadge said to him.
"Wait… You're a Cardinal Hero?!" Vadge is shocked to hear that. He then takes a good look at Tomori. "I think being a bandit suits you more."
Tomori frowned when he heard that. "Seems like going here first might be a mistake." This isn't the right time to regret his choice. "Anyways, the armor? Do you have any that pique my interest while being cheap at the same time?"
"Hmm…" Vadge scratches his chin. "Can you give me a description of what kind of armor that you wanted?"
"Hm… An armor that can be put on and off easily would be nice… An armor that can be worn when I want to sleep could be nice as well… Do you have anything in mind?"
"Why would you want to wear armor when you wanted to sleep in the first place?" Vagde asked him.
"The world is not a safe place. I need to make sure that I'm safe even when I'm sleeping. Do you have the kind of armor that I need, Vadge?"
"With that kind of description, I think I have just the thing. But it's a prototype armor that I just recently made. So I don't have any confidence to say whether it's good or not…"
"Prototype, huh… Sounds intriguing. Mind letting me have a look at it? And can you bring some clothes for me as well?"
"Wait for a sec…" Vadge went to the back of his shop to fetch the prototype armor and clothes. "And here's the stuff."
Vadge showed the armor, long sleeve black shirt and black slack pants to Tomori.
"Wait… Isn't this just a normal short sleeve leather jacket and a piece of metal breastplate?"
"I know what you're thinking. I said that it's a prototype. Do you still want it?"
"Yeah, I'll take it."
"I thought you would change your mind after seeing it."
"It fits my description. And from the look of it, this armor can be upgraded, right?"
"Yeah. You have a sharp eye, lad."
"Let's just say that I have a knack for this kind of thing."
"Well, how about you give it a try."
"Okay then."
Tomori goes inside the dressing room. He takes off his clothes and wears the new clothes that Vadge brings to him. He then wears the armor. When he fully zipped the jacket, it shrinks to fit his size.
"And how about this?" Tomori was referring to the metal breastplate.
"Just put it to your chest. It will attach just fine."
Tomori put the breastplate onto his chest. It was attached to the jacket like the holy weapon attached to his body. Tomori checks the status of this armor.
Unnamed Armor (Prototype): Defense Up, Size Adjustment, Slash Resistance (Low), Impact Resistance (Low)
"It looks like beginner armor and the stats show it too. But it still felt incomplete to me…" Tomori comes out from the dressing room. "Can I have a pair of leather gloves and a cloak?"
"Sure." Vadge went under his counter and brought the stuff that Tomori asked for.
Tomori then wears the leather gloves and the maroon cloak. "Now this is right."
"Oh… Now you look like a proper hero right now."
Tomori looks at himself in the mirror. "I'm not a cloak kind of guy. But this can be done for now." Now it's time for weapons. "Can you tell me about what ores that you use to make weapons?"
"Oh, we have Iron, Magic Iron, Steel and Magic Steel if you have a pretty low budget. But above that will cost you some extra coins." Vadge explained.
"I see…" Tomori said. "I could just copy the weapons. But I felt like I'm ripping him off… I can buy some cheap weapons for now. I can either sell it back elsewhere or convert it to Energy Points."
"So, what weapon are you going to pick?" Vadge asked.
"Can you bring me a sword, dagger, hatchet, spear made out of iron, a pickaxe and a leather sling bag?" Tomori said.
"That's a lot of stuff. What are you going to do with it?"
"Hero stuff. You didn't need to know about it."
"Okay…" Vadge then ventures back to the back of his store. He then comes back to the counter. "Okay lad, this is your stuff." Vadge put all of his stuff at the counter.
"How much?"
"Hm…" Vadge started counting all the stuff that Tomori bought. "300 silver."
"Here." Tomori handed the coins.
"Pleasure doing business with you."
"I can say the same." Wears the sling bag and puts all the weapons and pickaxe into his inventory. He then left the weapon shop to head for his next destination.
He then went to the apothecary to get a pestle and mortar so that he can make potions. He also considers going to the magic shop, but since he thinks that his magic stats are weak, he changes his mind. So, he went to the Guild instead.
"Ok, today, I'm the Blade Hero and also the undercover adventurer called Crimson Ridder." He thought as he left the guild. He then looks at his adventurer card which looks like a thin smartphone.
"And I've skipped to S rank. Now where's the thrill of me ranking up through the Guild rank…" He just sighed in disappointment. "Well then, I guess I have one place left to visit."
He then takes a left turn to visit a church who has the Dragon Hourglass which can TP him to the waves. As he arrived there, he felt something was wrong about it.
"There's only a bow and spear on the top of the building. I have a bad feeling about this…" But he needs to get to the Dragon Hourglass to register for the wave. He then reluctantly gets to the church's entrance. He went inside the church and he found a nun near the entrance.
"Oh… Blade Hero. How can I help you?" The nun said while looking at him like he wasn't supposed to be here.
"I wanted to get to the Dragon Hourglass so that I can register for the waves." Tomori replied.
"Sure…" The nun there looks at her surroundings. "Please follow me."
Tomori then follows the nun. The longer he walked, the more he felt uneasy. "Why the hell do I feel like there's a person staring at me the whole time…"
He then arrived at the room that holds the Dragon Hourglass. "Now I see why it's called the Dragon Hourglass…" He thought as he walked closer to the hourglass.
"?!" Then a beam of light came out from his weapon gemstone.
517:10:23
"Ugh… Math…" He then proceeded to calculate the remaining days he got left for the wave. "Around 22 days. There's time to get stronger."
Tomori then turned to one of the nuns who's near the Dragon Hourglass. "Can I also get the sand for my weapon please?" He said to the nun.
Reika told him during the breakfast that we can gain a teleport skill using the sand from Dragon Hourglass.
The nun then proceeded to whisper to each other. They have a very worried face that they didn't even hide from Tomori. "I smell conflict within them."
"Sure… Please wait a second…" One of the nuns then went near the hourglass and put some of the sand into a small pouch. Then, the nun handed the sand to him.
"Thank you." He then poured the sand into his sword gemstone.

"I guess I can use this weapon when I'm level 50… Now it's time to get the hell out of here." He then quickly sprints out from the church to head to the forest near Castle Town.
After Tomori left, the nuns started speaking to each other.
"Do you think it's okay for him to have the hourglass's sand?" One of the nuns said.
"Do not worry. The pope has other plans to deal with him. And I can assure you that this might be his last day walking in this world. May our gods assist us to defeat the vile Blade Demon."
All the nuns started praying for Tomori's downfall.
"Tomori, I'm home." His aunt, Toshika, said. "Have you cleaned the storage room?" She said again but received no reply.
"Hmm… That's weird." She then pulled out her shoes and went inside the house. She walked upstairs to the storage room. He saw that the room's door was still open. "Tomori? Are you in there?"
As he walked closer to the room and saw there was broken stuff inside the room. "That brat… What things that he broken this time-"
Toshika stopped as she saw what the broken stuff was. She also saw two opened books that she locked away years ago on the floor. She dropped the bag that she's holding in her hands to the floor when she saw it. She then rushed to the storage room.
"No, no, no, no… Why are these books here?! I have thrown away these books ages ago." She then picked up the guide book. "If he managed to read this book, then he will be summoned as the second choice for either Bladed Weapon or the Magic Tool wielder. And knowing him, the Blade Spirit surely wants him…"
She then picked up the book that changed her life forever. "The title has changed… Seems like the fusion between worlds is a success…" She then looked up to the ceiling. "But why him? There's a lot of people worthy of the Bladed Weapon?"
She didn't expect a reply, but she wanted an answer. " Sigh* Rust, Daela, if you're still alive, please help him…" She just kneels down while hugging the books, praying for her nephew's safety.
"Hmm…" A tall man wearing black full armor clad with a beige gemstone in the middle of his chestplate stared at the sky.
"General Rust!" Another man wearing full armor clad but instead of black, it's dark green. "We're ready for the wave."
"Hmm, I see…" The tall man called Rust said while not giving an eye contact with the armored man.
"And also, our informant said that the Cardinal Heroes had been summoned yesterday." The man said.
"I already know."
"Don't you think that you should meet at least the Blade Hero, sir?"
"Don't need too. The Blade Hero always had a low life expectancy compared to the other heroes."
"But sir, you should at least make an effort to save the hero."
"Humans are a bunch of idiots. Instead of preparing for the wave, they are still trying to kill either one of the Cardinal Heroes for their agenda. But we're far superior than those lousy humans. Prepared the cannons and vehicles. The waves will start in under 30 minutes."
"Yes sir!" The man then goes down to give the order.
Rust then continued to look at the sky. "How many years did I have to do this…"

Author Notes:
This will be my story based on the ROTSH game mechanic, system, etc but there might be something that I put on here that clashes with the canon mechanic and system. And this story will be in a Third person perspective. This story might have some references or even characters that are somehow the same to the ROTSH characters. Please leave a review if you like it or just to vent out your frustration because I know well enough that the things that I'm doing right now are going to be the same as the Star Wars: The Force Awakens situation. There might be a few grammatical errors as I don't speak freedom and monarchy.
