Ken thanked his lucky stars that he hadn't been blown away like the wall had been. The other kids had started running out the large hole in the wall as soon as the smoke settled. He didn't know where it led to, so he didn't rush. For all he knew, it could be another trap. Besides, he still needed to find Chikusa...
He coughed as he made his way through some rubble. He hoped his friend hadn't gotten caught in the explosion. He still cared after all, even if he didn't show it.
The boy flinched when a hand caught his shirttail. He was about to bat it away when he realized he was staring into his own reflection.
"Kakipi!" he exclaimed happily. His friend had found him! Chikusa coughed but did not protest.
"Let's get out of here," he whispered as he tugged the dog-like boy towards the hole. Ken nodded as he followed. As they neared the large opening in the wall, he noticed something.
"Wait!" he yelled, ducking his head in apology when Chikusa glared at him. Nonetheless, he pulled his friend towards a dark corner and pointed to a tiny lump on the floor. "I think there's someone there."
Behind a small pile of rocks and stones, they saw a small girl in a white dress lying unconscious, half-covered by dirt, purple hair spilling over her shoulders and onto the floor. They picked their way through and made it to her.
Ken knelt down and waved a hand in front of her face. "Should we take her with us?" He asked.
Chikusa peered at the girl's face. "Isn't this Nagi? Where's her brother?" Ken shrugged but looked around to see if he was there. All of a sudden, he was yanked down and nearly tripped. He glared at his companion.
"What-" he started to say, but then was interrupted by Chikusa's hand slapping over his mouth.
"Look," Chikusa whispered, pointing to near the door where a man had staggered up and was now standing over Mukuro's fallen form. There were three other boys near him as well, all unconscious.
"Stupid brat," the man glared spitefully at a brunet near the pair. He bent down to lift Mukuro up and grunted at the force that his weight put on him. He was just lucky that he hadn't gotten too injured from the explosion.
Ken and Chikusa watched silently as a few more goons came in through the broken door to drag the three away.
"We need to get out of here," Chikusa announced suddenly. "If they find us too, we won't be getting another chance to escape." He turned to look at Nagi's unconscious form. "We should take her with us."
Ken squawked in disbelief at the last part. "What?! Why?" he demanded. Chikusa's glasses glinted as he pushed them up.
"Are you really going to just leave her here then? First off, we can't defend ourselves. Mukuro's powerful, as we've seen. Even if she isn't as strong as him, it would be better if we could have their power on our side than if we just ran around aimlessly. And anyway, they helped us before so I think it's about time we repay our debt."

"I can't wait to smash the Estraneo boss's face in." Daemon Spade said cheerfully. His boss and his fellow guardians sitting around the meeting room sweatdropped.
Asari chuckled. "Don't forget to leave me some space for me to cut up."
"..."
"Uh," Giotto said unsurely. "We don't have conclusive evidence yet. Don't be so excited."
Lampo yawned. "I wanna go back to bed...Alaude isn't even about to be back yet." As soon as he said this, he got whacked upside the head.
"Don't underestimate me, brat." Alaude said. He removed the dark gloves he wore for his mission and threw them onto the table carelessly as he sat himself down on a vacant seat.
"I have no idea what they're planning." he reported bluntly. Giotto and the others gaped.
Daemon recovered first. "Nufufufu. How worthless." Alaude turned to glare at the man.
"It's obviously an attack. However, they seem to be in the middle of building some sort of contraption. It looked like some kind of robot."
"Okay," Giotto said slowly, "do you know when they're planning to attack then?"
"I can't tell for sure, but it's probably somewhere between the end of this week and next week. The Estraneo are an unpredictable bunch of herbivores. They have Takeshi, by the way."
Asari shrugged nonchalantly. "That's proof enough. Let's go."
"Hold up," Giotto stopped the man from heading out the door. "We need some kind of plan. Or reinforcements, at least."
G snorted. "We're not going to be stopped by such a weak family, Giotto." He crossed his arms. "We know we're one of the strongest families now."
"He's right," Knuckle grinned. "Stop being such an EXTREME worrywart, Giotto."
"Yes, yes, that is true and it is wonderful and all, but don't forget that the Estraneo is the family developing the most advanced technology. Even if they don't spend all their time purely on fighting skills, they would still be capable of stopping us using technology." he reminded.
"What do you propose we do then? Wait for them to attack US? You know we can't do that, Giotto." Daemon said.
No one had an answer for that. Both Daemon and Giotto were right, but they also needed to stop the Estraneo already. They had to find Iemitsu's son and the Gesso's heir. Plus, they needed to rescue Takeshi too. Asari stood up. "I'm going now, no matter what any of you say."
"Asari," Giotto pleaded. "We need at least a plan, if we want this to be a success." The man sat back down.
"Fine," he crossed his arms over his chest and tapped his foot on the floor in an uncharacteristic show of impatience. But then again, no one could be patient knowing their flesh and blood was going to be turned into a human guinea pig.
The Vongola boss motioned for the guardians around the room to sit down. "All right then, let's start our strategy meeting."

"The sunlight! The sunlight of the outside world is wonderful!" Ken exclaimed the second they were away from the Estraneo base. His loud voice caused some passersby to give him and his friend strange looks. Adding to that, the fact that there was an unconscious girl on his back did nothing to improve things.
Chikusa sighed and pushed his slightly crooked glasses back to the bridge of his nose. It truly was exciting to be outside for once, but Ken was being just a little too hyper and too obvious about it. It couldn't be helped, he decided. He would let his idiot of a friend have his way today. It was a good day.
Ken was cheering loudly and jumping around. Chikusa just watched him, keeping a few paces away lest he get kicked by accident. When he noticed the larger figure about to crash into Ken though, it was too late to warn him. However, that didn't mean he didn't try to anyway. "Ken watch out!"
"Huh?"
Then he promptly smacked into the sturdy frame of a well-suited man.
"Sorry!" He bowed quickly. Hopefully, the person he'd just literally run into wouldn't try to beat them up. To his complete surprise, the man did nothing of the sort.
"It's fine," he mumbled almost distractedly as he put a smile on his face while his hand made a waving gesture as if to prove his statement. "What are you kids doing alone out here?" he asked. Shouldn't children their age be with their parents? And right at this moment, Chikusa had never wished more that he could teach Ken to be wary of strangers.
The dog-like boy just blurted out the answer without thinking. "We just escaped from the Estraneo base!"
The moment the man heard the word Estraneo, his entire demeanor changed into something urgent and panicky. "What?!" he blurted loudly before gathering Ken and Chikusa into his arms and pushing them forward towards a rather fancy looking car. Once they were all seated inside and the driver was instructed to take them back to the Vongola mansion.
"Um..?" Chikusa asked hesitantly. Were they being kidnapped?
"My apologies," the man said. "I suppose it would be fair to explain things to you first before asking for help. You see I have a son. We think he was kidnapped by the Estraneo. You might have met him while you were there. No one wants their children to be caught by those men. I especially don't want that because he is not only my son, but he also has with him an important artifact that could bring about great destruction if not used properly."
The two boys nodded, a little lost, but they understood most of it.
"And any way you look at it, he is still a child. Even if he has been trained for self-defense, he cannot take them on right? Right now, we are heading to the Vongola Mansion to meet a friend of mine."
"Okay..." Chikusa said slowly, "and where do we come in in all of this?"
The man folded his hands under his chin. "Yes, well, we'll need you to tell us all you know about Estraneo and also about how you got out of there."
Ken and Chikusa looked at each other, having a silent conversation. Nagi had been laid beside Chikusa still unconscious with her head resting on his shoulder since Ken refused to become her pillow.
"Please, we really need your help." said the man as they pulled up in front of the Vongola Mansion.
