Dude, it's just a song

Sam and Dean are driving down the highway, listening to classis rock music, as usual. But then Dean has to go and over-think that song. [One-shot] [No spoilers]

AN: No spoilers. No matter what season you are in, you can read this without worrying about something being spoiled for you.

It was an early Thursday morning and the Winchester brothers were in the Impala, heading down the highway somewhere in New Jersey. An AC/DC song was playing on the radio while they sat in a comfortable silence.

Sam glanced over at his brother and noticed him frowning at the radio. Considering the strange look his brother was giving the box, Sam raised an eyebrow. "What is it, man?"

Dean turned his gaze over at him. "What if there really is a highway to Hell?"

"Come on, man. That's stupid. " Sam rolled his eyes. "There's no way that there could be a-"

Dean waved a hand to silence him. "Hear me out." He turned the music down, but left it playing. "There are tales about haunted roads and parts of highways being infamous for misfortune. What if- somehow, somewhere- there was a section where people really could get sent to Hell?" His eyes were wide with concern.

Sam scoffed, resting his head against the back of his seat. "Dude, it's just a song."

Dean raised an eyebrow doubtfully, tilting his head. "I don't know. AC/DC, they're some pretty insightful guys. I mean, just look at their-"

Sam cut in. "Dean. There is no way a person could go to Hell just by being on a highway. They'd have to make a deal or go through one of the gates. No way is there such thing as a highway to Hell, or we would have already heard of it. Now let it go."

The cabin of the Impala fell silent. Then, glancing periodically at the radio, he finally reached over and turned it off.

Sam blinked. "Seriously?" He gave a small laugh. When his brother sent a scalding glare his way, the younger man pulled his lips together and looked away.

Dean gripped the steering wheel tightly, pushing harder on the accelerator. The speed climbed over 80mph.

"I can't wait to get off the road." After a moment, he added, "AC/DC is officially ruined for me now."

A/N: This came to me one morning while I was listening to this song; I was reminded of a haunted road in New Jersey called Clinton Road (feel free to look it up; the legends are kind of mixed around, but they're still pretty cool). Anyways, hope you enjoyed. Feel free to leave a review.
