Hello and Welcome!
I just wanted to go ahead and give some general warnings and Information about what's going to happen in this story! You don't technically have to read this bit if you don't want to but it will give you a gist of what will happen in the story.
Love Interest-
It is going to be Daryl Dixon :)
Mary and Daryl's relationship will be a slow burn, though I'm not entirely sure how slow it will be just yet. But I do know that some big things will happen for them around Season 3.
Language-
There will be mature language such as curse words and there will be Spanish. I don't entirely know how I'll work that in yet, but there will be Spanish. Translations will always be available either right next to the words, in the comments, or at the end of the chapter.
I am a native Spanish speaker, however, when it comes to writing in Spanish, honestly, I suck at it. Therefore, there might only be phrases or slang terms rather than entire paragraphs written in Spanish.
When Mary speaks Spanish and I know it's going to be longer than a sentence it will be in bold, italicized, and underlined. So if a whole paragraph or anything she says looks like this, then Mary is speaking in Spanish ( I'm too lazy to do a whole ass conversation translation), so the other characters may give her odd looks or act confused. It's because she is speaking in Spanish and they do not understand her.
If it just an italicized sentence on it's own than it's basically an inner thought from Mary.
Timeline-
I will be following The Walking Dead Wiki Timeline in future chapters. On the top of each chapter a day will be marked, however, my day 1 will will count as the timelines day 15, when the bombing is seen in the show. The only difference will be the numbers, but the same amount of time will be passing .
e.g their Day 15 jump to Day 58 will be written here as Day 1 jump to Day 38.
Does that make sense? I hope so if it doesn't I'm sorry and let me know and I'll try explaining it better :)
Time Skips-
•••(three)-some time has passed, mostly hours but I think the context will clear up just how long has passed.

Age Gap-
Okay so in my head Daryl is around Rick's age, and I don't know why I have it in my mind that Rick is 36ish in the pilot. I can't find an exact age so I'm going based off that so there will be an age gap.
I know in the comics that Rick is 27 I believe but of course that's not the show and won't be the case in this story.
I think Daryl's age is close to Norman Reedus' so theoretically he would be around 40 in season 1, but I guess I'll be changing that. Information like this is iffy and can be lightly changed and messed with.
Mary is 24 but turns 25 in early chapters, Darly will be 35/36, he's younger than Rick by a year. Why? I don't know I just see Rick as his older brother.
So yes, Daryl will be roughly 10 years her senior, I'm sorry if that makes you uncomfortable you can always age her up if you please. I do specify her age a few times in the beginning but you can mentally change that to anything you want. You can even change the face claims I have I really don't mind, I just want you to enjoy it any way you can :)
Trigger Warnings-
There will be plenty of shitty stuff happening in this story, along those lines certain heavy topics will be mentioned. Some including: suicidal thoughts/tendencies,violence, eating disorders, sexual assault, emotional abuse, and just general dark themes that have been shown in the show and what dark things may happen if the apocalypse were to happen.
I will make sure to make a note in the beginning of each chapter containing any of those themes.If I happen to forget to put a note please let me know and I apologize but I will try my best to always put that note.
The dark moments will be a part of the story but you do not have to read it, if anybody would like I will put a summary on the bottom that excludes the gritty details but still gives the information you'll need going forward. You can even message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can summarizing it as best as I can and you can ask for any other information you need to keep reading.
I won't be able to mark everything seeing as different situations and different items can trigger someone that wouldn't trigger me, so just know something may trigger you that I didn't even realize could trigger someone. Message me and I will make sure to look over it again and see if I can fix the problem.
Smut-
I'm not entirely sure if this story will contain that content. I have marked the story as containing smut, but in all honesty I'm not entirely comfortable or sure how to write smut. I've read it plenty of times but I've yet to try my hand at writing it. If that is truly wanted then I'll give it my best try lol.
If it is a for sure want and I end up feeling too uncomfortable doing it I have a friend who is an amazing writer and has already given me the green light to ask for them to write that type of work.
Regarding OC's-
Of course I have my face claim as who I imagine them to be but you can 100% change it to whoever you want it to be. I will be describing them in the way I envision them based upon the chosen actor but you can easily ignore them and change something like long brunette hair to a bright pink pixie cut if that's what you like.
As of right now I am creating four new original characters, usually I personally don't always love that but I wanted that for this story. I also have some that are mentioned but never actually brought into the story. You will only learn about them through Mary's memories of them.
(Also I'm aware that Phoebe Tonkin isn't Mexican, but I've been rewatching H2O:Just Add Water, and had forgotten how much I loved her lol, so she will be the face of Mary.)
There is Mary Rosales, a 24 year old baker who is an introvert. She talks to the entire group but only considers about two of them as actual friends in the beginning. She often times hides behind poor attempts of humour, and Helen. This whole story will be told through her eyes so for a vast majority of the story it will be told through a first person POV.
There is Helen Carter, a 45 year old woman who along with her husband owned the bakery Mary worked at. She is essentially Mary's mother, she may not have given birth to her but she has definitely won the title of Mom to the Rosales children. She's a go to person, if you have any problem she somehow has all the answers.
There is Sylvia Rosales, she is 31 years old and older sister to Mary. She is the first born and was an ER nurse before everything went down. She and Mary had an on and off again relationship growing up but always had each other's backs when it came to their parents. She along side her brother raised Mary when her parents didn't care for their existence. As the eldest she became a protector of sorts for Anthony and Mary.
Finally there is Anthony Rosales, he is 30 years old and would do absolutely anything for Mary. He was a mechanical engineer and loved it with a passion. Him and Mary were the closest despite the age gap, while Sylvia had always been the serious sibling, Anthony was the goofball and Mary the cautious one.
I believe that is all I wanted to share but if it isn't I'll always come back and add or change what I need.
