*Kristoff Pov*
She couldn't sleep that night, her back facing me. I tried to comfort her while she cried but she pushed me away. She pushed me away... I-I Elsa... I'm so sorry.
"Anna, please go to sleep... you need it." I said, reaching for her shoulder. I touched her lightly and she moved away from me again, she was dangerously close to the edge and she likes to move in her sleep. I ignored her moving away from me and grabbed her waist, pulling her close to me. "Anna, please."
"No, Kristoff! Leave me alone." Her voice sounded hallow and defeated.
"Why are you shutting me out?" I asked, her body stiffened against mine and she sat up. She turned to me slowly, her eyes red and puffy.
"I asked you to bring my sister home." She whispered harshly. I gasped slightly getting out of bed, she did. She did asked me to bring Elsa home and I-I didn't... I-I couldn't.
"I know." I whispered back. "I know." I said leaving the room.
"Kristoff wait-" She said but I closed the door and she didn't follow me out into the dark hall. I lit a candle by our room and brought it with me.
Eider's door was open and I peaked my head inside, he was sleeping on top of his bed fully clothed, his body twitched and his eyes scrunched and un-scrunched in his sleep. Nightmare, I know the feeling. Especially tonight, I kept seeing Hans with the ice shard and Elsa getting stabbed and dying in my arms. The blood... I shook slightly and moved on.
I passed a hallway and there was a picture of some older people covered in a veil of dark fabric. I lifted it slightly realizing the female looked like Anna and Elsa, this was their parents. On the wall next to them was a picture of Elsa a thin layer of dark fabric also covered hers. She was smiling in the picture something painters never painted but they did for her. She looked so sweet and happy. I groaned and turned from the picture, what did I do?
What kind of husband and brother-in-law am I? Elsa died in my care, literally in my hands. I slumped down on the floor, and blew out the candle.
"Kristoff, wake up." I heard and some one shook me on the shoulder. I opened my eyes slightly and Gwyneth stood above me wearing all black. Her brown hair was up for once.
"Hi, Gwyneth. What's up?" I said sitting up and rubbing my head. There was light pouring through the window. "Did I sleep here?" She nodded.
"It's time to get up, it's the Queen's-"
"Funeral." I finished.
"Yes, I set out your clothes." She said helping me up. She was being all superficial, and attentive. I didn't like it. It took so long for her to warm up, and now she's ice cold and locked up again.
All of this is my fault.
*Anna Pov*
I was getting dressed that morning for my own sisters funeral. I knew I would outlive her because I'm younger but not like this, not like this at all. I heard my door open and close, and I turned to find Kristoff. His hair was wild and there were deep bags under his eyes, he shifted his shoulder and winced in pain. He looked at me sadly and took off his shirt to put on his black one. We didn't say a word, we just looked at each other, while we undressed and re dressed for Elsa's funeral.
"Did- did you sleep well?" I asked, looking at him.
"I slept in the hallway on the floor, so I guess it was ok." He shrugged.
"Oh... Kris I'm sorry-"
"No, it's fine. I understand, it's my fault." He said, my eyes flooded with tears and I cried. I sat down in our chair and I cried.
"No, it was Hans. He did this!" I cried , wrapping my arms around myself.
"Anna, I was there, I couldn't protect her." He said, tears spilling from his eyes.
"No." I said.
"Yes." He said.
"I want to see her." I replied.
"What?" He asked, reaching for my hand and I let him grab it.
"No matter what I said last night, just know I love you so much. I want to see Elsa, you told me you left her in her ice castle." I said. He looked confused by my subject switching.
"I don't know if that's safe." Kristoff advised.
"No, I don't want to go to her funeral. I don't want to see her get a big rock next to our parents. I want to see HER, not her rock." I cried. "Please Kristoff."
"Shh, stop crying. I'll take you to her." Kristoff said, leaning in front of me and rubbing my shoulders.
"We leave right now." I said, Kristoff nodded and helped me up. We were still wearing our black clothes, Kristoff slipped on his shoes and we slipped out the door.
"Where are you going, the service is starting then we're going to see the Queen's rock." Gerda said, seeing us holding hands and running down the stairs.
"To see Elsa." I replied. "In her ice palace."
"No, you are not leaving, don't be disrespectful to your sister!" She said grabbing my arm.
"I'm the Queen now, you will let me go see my sister." I said.
"You're not Queen yet, Anna don't be foolish!" She growled.
"You will let her go." Gwyneth said, slapping Gerda's hand away from my arm.
"Gwyneth learn your place, if you act like this one more time you're fired!" Gerda said. "I've had enough of you."
"I'm technically the boss of you Gerda." Gwyneth said.
"You aren't the Queen." Gerda sniffed.
"No but Anna is, and I'm Anna's best friend." Gwyneth sneered back. Gerda stalked down the hall mumbling.
"Thanks Gwyneth." I said hugging her.
"You're welcome, I'm probably going to get spit in my soup now but it's fine. Go see your sister and try not to have a heat stroke in those black clothes." Gwyneth said with a laugh. Kristoff's mood lightened, I guess he had thought she'd gone all emotionless again. I did. Kristoff and I walked down the stairs hand and hand, we're going to see my sister.
