Chapter 14, Old Memories
It was another world meeting after the incident, it was sort of hilarious how all the countries seemed to accept him so easily. Now, London was determined to be a cock blocker of sorts; as he was seated in France's seat. America to his left and England to his right.
He looked at his old colony, his and England's old colony, the boy had certainly grown. A super power never less! A faint smile appeared on his face as he thought about America's name sake.
King Alfred was seated at the desk at his office; there was a man before him, a man who looked like England. It was impossible never the less as the country was at the war against the vikings at the moment.
"You will be hanged for impersinating a superior officer, you do know that right?" he said. It has been a year since Alfred had taken the throne after the previous king, and after those years of being on the throne one would have been surprised to find that many, many people wanted him dead; and he couldn't have his one of his only truly trustworthy knight and friend impersonated. The man before him chuckled before smiling at him,
"I am aware. Even though he is my twin brother, but I like you already. Of course, I have been watching from a distance before I actually did try to talk to you".
King Alfred frowned, a bit taken aback by the new information.
"If so, than where is England's rose?"
"On his right bicepe of course, he got it right after we came out of France's rule. I have a matching one on my left; however, how do you know about it?" He answered.
Realizing the obvious trust England had put in this individual, whoever he was; King Alfred decided to relax around him.
"An incident after a failed assassination, he took the knife for me on his forearm; I caught him bandaging it and saw a peek on his shoulder. Who are you though?"
"William sir, or Came- apologies. London. Not exactly used to it yet, apologies your majesty," London inwardly cursed himself for his small slip. A bit over two hundred years since the name change, but it's still hard never the less.
King Alfred laughed, "No, no. Alfred only please, I confess that I hope you're a little less stuck up than my homeland, no offense".
London laughed back in response, "I may be at times, but not always. I'm mostly the more...laid back type of person". He sat down on one of the chairs before the King Alfred, showing that he was not as stuck up as his brother.
"Indeed you are not; I appreciate it, really. Everyone here is always so stiff around me; even those who are older than me, and I'm only 22," he said referring to one Sir Arthur Kirkland. London laughed,
"I admit, your reaction is not uncommon; there has been many who shared your opinion on the matter. Arthur becomes so stiff when it comes with these things; however, you should have seen how he is when he's around younger children. We we're at town one day and there was this small boy who was asking for food, Arthur gave him a hug and a large loaf of bread. Arthur talked to him and found out the boy was lost, he carried the young boy on his shoulders until the young boy saw his mother. That, was one of the sweetest moments I have ever seen".
"Really? He must be great with kids then, surprisingly," commented king Alfred. London snorted,
"More than you know, but on a more serious point".
He crossed his legs and brought his hands together on his chest and stared straight in King Alfred's eyes, the appearance was startling to say the least. Those dark forest green eyes piercing his soul, a bit breathtaking to say the least.
"Promise me you won't let my brother alone," he said simply. King Alfred raised an eyebrow,
"Why would I do that?"
"Over the past millennia my brother and I have learned many things about human kind. It has evolved over the years, and to be honest some feature we wish would change," London turned his gaze to the side, resting on a window showing the kingdom, "Men had hunted us, thinking that they would get powers or rewards of some kind from us. Royalty and countries sometimes used us as scapegoats, and when it was me I didn't mind. Though lately my brother is becoming more stubborn on things like this, especially on times like this. So please, don't leave the stubborn git's arse alone?"
King Alfred nodded as he stood and moved toward London, light brown hair glistening in the light as he sat on his desk.
"I promise I will, but I do have to confess one thing..."
London looked up, eyebrow raised, "And..What is that? Alfred?"
King Alfred smirked and swiftly kissed London on the lips, leaving the personified capital shocked beyond belief.
"Ah- What?" said London, stumbling for words.
"Your different from anyone else Sir William Kirkland, I appreciate that," said Alfred getting up, "Anything else?"
"Ah, no no," he got up to leave, but turned his head and smirked at King Alfred, "But I am getting back at you for that kiss, your majesty".
Leaving a blushing king at the room.
London smiled at the memory, of course King Alfred was technically the first. He's had a lot of others, believe it or not. Even if after they had married, he was happy for them never the less; he was never the jealous type in those things after all, but that let him wonder. Was he going to be the ultimate third wheel?
He looked at England as he was thinking this, after all most of these countries are only after his brother. He knows one of them is going to try him, since he could serve as a substitute for England. After all, he is a twin brother; they're both practically the same person. He rolled his pen between his fingers as this thought crossed his mind.
"I wonder who's going to try first," he muttered.
A/n:...I know this is soooooo historically inaccurate, but yeah. I don't own anything but he story and London. Also sorry for the wait, I unfortunately caught the cold virus going around so yeah; I'll try to update again as soon as I can. Review, fav, or follow. Whichever you perfer, until next time, g'bye!
