Kendra promised herself she wouldn't tell anyone Seth's secret. Bracken had joined her, sitting on the rim of the pool. Kendra was trying her best to act tranquil, but with her new knowledge of Seth's crush, it was extremely burdensome. If only she could get it off her chest. Kendra took a deep breath, "Bracken, what do you think… of Seth?" Kendra asked softly.
"What do you mean? Like, I think he is a good fighter and he is nice, I guess. He seems like an overall good dude, but I've never really thought about that before." Bracken replied, unknowing of the current situation. "I think he has been acting a little different lately. Since about when we were in Paris, something happened. He seems more isolated, like he is purposely avoiding life. I have seen him, since we got back, he has been spending his time talking to ghosts and demons. I am almost worried for the little guy, he is too young to be put through so much. Killing, separating, and destruction, I mean." Bracken finished boldly, like he was proud of himself for such a 'meaningful' speech.
"Right." Kendra said. "But I feel that he would be happier if he had someone, you know? Maybe if he was in a relationship?"
"You want me to find Seth a girlfriend?!" Bracken jumped up.
"Believe me," Kendra said, "That is practically the opposite of what I was implying." Kendra stood up to be face to face with Bracken. "Bracken" Kendra said stroking his face, "You know that I love you, right?" She finished softly. Bracken slowly nodes, grinning. Kendra gave a sly smile back. She stood up slightly on her tip toes to reach his lips. She softly grabbed the back of his head and pushed their lips together. It was a soft, tender kiss, just their lips slowly sliding over each other romantically. It was soothing and sensitive, affectionate, loving, and amorous. The kiss was like pastel colors- warm and cheerful, until stopping suddenly.
Dale was calling to them from the kitchen. "Warren's back! Come to the house!" Warren had returned to the preserve in California to try to find any information about the society's plans. He had hitched a ride on Steve and was flying down from the sky with a big sack. Kendra and Bracken walked to the house holding hands. When they entered the main room, they saw that everyone was waiting there for Warren's return. Grandpa and Grandma were sitting on the couch with Dale. Kendra parents were sitting in two dining chairs pulled from the dinning table to the living room. Seth was sitting in a shadowy corner, and Gavin was on the floor at the base of an armchair. Kendra dropped Bracken's hand at the sight of him. Gavin looked up at Kendra, eyes gleaming and night black hair sweeping perfectly across his flawless tan complexion. Bracken gestured to the chair Gavin was leaning upon and Gavin stood up and took a few steps away. Bracken lead Kendra silently to the unoccupied chair, sitting down first, then allowing her to sit on his lap comfortably. Gavin took a seat with Seth in the corner, who gave a glazed look then went back to communicating with the dead in his mind.
Warren walked in carrying a heavy sack and dropped in on the ground to the entrance to the living room. "Ladies and Gentlemen," Warren said "As you know, I went to find any future plans the society has, but found no useful information" The excitement in the room died down quickly with a few groans. "However, I found the next best thing, someone to tell us." Warren bent down to untie the complex knots that were keeping the sack together. After a few minutes of struggling Warren started pulling a limp body out of the bag and sat him in a chair Stan Sorenson pulled up. Kendra got her first look at him. The boy looked a little younger than her. He had medium brown hair, that looked almost reddish sometimes (depending on the light), and was short, yet shaggy. He was fairly hansom, with a rounded nose, light, radiant skin, and high check bones. He started to open his eyes, they were hazel brown. Warren slapped the captive on the face, who woke up form his daze and gave a rude glance. "Go on, now" Warren said "Introduce yourself, tell the people what you told me."
The boy gazed at the room he started to speak "My name is Peter Shelton, son of Ravogus, and…uh… former merman."
