Jillian Arc, the eldest of the Arc sisters, was getting ready to leave for Atlas to start her hunter training. However, their mother was out buy more groceries for their family while their dad was at his work.
Most of her sisters were probably messing around and weren't really in the state of mind to see her off. Well, at least her brother would miss her.
… Where is he anyway? She hadn't really seen him in hours.
She searched their house for a bit, and found him sitting on the couch and watching television. There was a movie on but young Jaune Arc really looked engross into it.
'Another super hero movie?' The girl smiled as she walked towards him. But then she looked at the at the screen and saw that it was actually a pirate movie… set in space…
The title was called Treasure Planet as it opened up, but Jaune started at the screen excitedly. Jillian just laughed and decided to wait a bit and watch why Jaune was so excited for this movie.
…
A soft wind like music played as the movie was reaching its close, and now Jillian found herself very engrossed with the movie and sat beside her younger brother, both watching the next scene intently.
"… But I met this old cyborg, and he taught me I could chart my own course… that's what I'll do…"
" And what do you see… of that bow of yours?"
"… A future."
"Hehehe. Why, look at ya, glowing like a solar fire. … You're something special, Jim. You're going to rattle the stars, you are!"
Jillian was really emotional around this part, and seeing Jaune near sobbing was really sweet. She smiled as she hugged her little brother closer.
"Oi, Jaune." She called.
"Y-Yes?" He hiccupped.
"I think you'll one day rattle the stars as well."
"You think so?"
"Yes…"
"… Then I think you'll do that too Jill." He finally said.
"I appreciate that brother, I hope you're there too, 'catching some of the light comin of me that day'."
The two laughed as they watched the ending of that movie.
"Ren!"
The magenta eyed boy looked over his shoulder to see his teammate Resh Kolc, AKA Jared Arc, come up to him before he left for Vale.
"Resh? Is something wrong?" The magenta eyed boy inquired curiously.
The other boy from the future shook his head. "I've been thinking about it. It's true we need to be discrete, but if there really is danger, you're the one in the most dangerous position out of all of us."
The stoic and silent boy nodded at that. He was going out the city alone. If he was attacked or found himself in a troubling situation, his teammates would all be miles away from him and he would have to solve it on his own. "I will do my best to be careful then."
Jared fished his pockets.
"True…" He then took something out. "But it's always a good idea to have a plan B."
Ren's eyes actually widened as he accepted the items Jared handed to him. Then he looked slightly shocked at his team mate. "Are you sure?"
The other boy nodded. "As of right now, you'll need it more than me. Be safe Ren."
Power.
There has always been phrases of 'power coursing through my veins!' by various super powered villains or beings throughout mass media.
Have you ever wondered what that actually was like? To have an external force, pulsing through every vein in your body, enhancing every single blood cell with unexplainable urges that have the potential to break the supposed set rules of reality all within your body? It's no wonder people say power corrupts all: why on earth would you have all this power bursting at your finger tips and not use it?
However, for Lie Ren, there was a minute where such thoughts raced his mind. But only a minute.
There was a Velociraptor to punch right now.
Wham!
'Huh. Nora did say she always wanted to punch a velociraptor ever since she went to a museum.' The magenta eyed boy mentally noted.
Ren saw all the shadowy animals and the cloaked figure staring cautiously at him after pushing away the dinosaur. He took this moment to look at himself.
The armor he had on was quite different from when Jared used his armor.
The assailant looked wary of the armor the boy was now wearing. It looked heavily based off the ancient civilization of warriors from the east known as the Terracotta army. The armor was coated well around the torso except for the arms where the armor looked more like a flexible cloth. There was some odd kind of battle skirt that looked plated in many pieces. Then there was a helmet that had a mask covering the face, yet showed a black visor over his upper face that made his magenta eyes shine through the black visor. The shape of the helm looked like an ancient (Terracotta) warrior helmet with a pink streak of fur on top that trailed behind like a false ponytail. On his waist, he wore a belt that seemed to tighten around his waist and have a symbol of a lotus in magenta outlines at the center of the buckle.
{Author Notes: I found a picture of what the armor is based on to give you a much more detailed idea.

Ren then gazed back to the cloaked figure. He imagined the person seething underneath, but right now he was distracted and he had to move fast.
With enhanced, graceful speed, Ren kicked off the wall and launched himself towards the figure. The shield appeared once more to bar his path, but Ren wasn't aiming for that. Ren stepped on the shield and quickly rocketed himself off to kick the hawk that had stolen one of the Storm Flower pairs. The bird slammed into the wall and turned into a black blob that quickly went back under the cloaked figure's cloth.
Ren noted that briefly before catching one of the Storm Flower Pairs, making it spin in his hand back into gun mode, then firing bullets at the spider high on the ceiling all while still being in the air.
As if to add insult to injury, Ren fired eight bullets into the eight eyes of the fake giant spider, making it vanish as well, but then the spider dropped the second pair of Storm Flower near the sewage river at the bottom, but it thankfully didn't fall in the gunk thanks to the very web still existing on the gun and was now stuck on the very edge.
Ren landed nearby a different hallway entrance before racing towards the second pair. The cloaked figure finally got out of stupor and brought out a fake sniper rifle.
He tried to reach for the other twin gun of his, but a bullet came speeding faster, forcing the armored boy to pull back his hand to prevent being hit.
The assailant then aimed the shots true, following that first shot, the mysterious figure fired several shots in succession, all strategically forcing Ren to cover into one of the other different pathways that was unfortunately a dead end. The assailant had to change things up and changed the sniper rifle into a mini gun. Then charged right to where Ren was.
The emerald knight found himself in a sticky situation. That semblance being used against him was really useful. The opponent practically was a walking army of one with an armory to summon on their command. No wonder the assassin was so confident in killing here.
Then there was a problem the armor Ren was currently in. It was draining his aura the longer he used this. At first it didn't seem that noticeable, but the longer he held it on, the more he felt his aura reserves dropping like a rock. He was starting to see why Resh (Jared) could keep this armor on for only fifteen minutes, the aura usage was draining.
But remembering his teammate gave him a risky idea.
Ren readied the lone Storm Flower before preparing himself.
The assassin still continued to fire the minigun then motioned the lion, wolf, and velociraptor to get close in around the fired area.
However, while firing the gun, a speck of green was hurled out of the corner, and got jabbed right into the face of the wolf. The abruptness of it all made a distraction for the gunner, and the gun stopped firing for a second. Ren made his move, from preparing aura around the soul of his feet, he threw his Storm Flower piece into stabbing the first thing to see him on from a safe distance then he quickly jumped in a huge burst of speed, grabbing the other twin gun that he couldn't get a while ago and firing it towards the assailant.
The opponent's eyes widened under the hood and quickly turned the gun back into a shield to block the incoming shots. Ren kept moving while shooting, heading towards a certain direction.
It was then both the velociraptor and the lion pounced on Ren form both sides, jaws as wide as possible.
As soon as they opened their mouths, a small flicker of green appeared before both animal's top heads were cut off and fell harmlessly off near the feet of the emerald knight, now wielding both of his Storm Flowers after picking the first one from the destroyed wolf.
The shield vanished only to see an emerald, legendary, eastern warrior of old wielding two dual pistol daggers towards the stranger.
The hooded figure cursed mentally. It was true his semblance allowed him to sneak in heavy fire and man power at will, such as giving certain weapons unlimited ammo, faster reload, and less recoil. However, the one drawback from a semblance such as this was that it required much concentration. Of course the being was very well trained, but there were things that could catch off the best experts for a few seconds or even one tenths of a second. If that semblance user was distracted even for a moment, the power would freeze if non-living based objects were summoned such as guns. Which was why when the dagger flew out, there was a gap in the semblance that allowed Ren to follow up and put his counter attack.
Ren himself knew that powerful semblances tended to have setbacks or quirks at times. For example, while Yang's semblance looked very powerful, it was also likely she had to take a lot of pain before reflecting it back towards her enemies. If it was anyone but her, the Semblance would have been far more risky. He knew that while his current opponent's semblance was versatile, there had to be some kind of flaw to it. He just didn't know this semblance was concentration dependent.
Yes, he just guessed it.
Hmm, perhaps Nora's randomness was rubbing off him.
The enemy reassessed the situation, "Hmpf. You didn't do too bad. I'll concede victory to you if it helps you sleep at night or something, but I've missed my opportunity to kill you. But rest assured, one way or another, I will kill you."
"Allow me to part the wisdom of an ancient proverb my ancestors tell to their cursing enemies, 'Go ^&%% yourself'."
Ren fired both of his guns the millisecond right after he finished that sentence. The assailant hesitantly but quickly pulled a smoke bomb and threw it to the ground, as the bullets passed through the air they hit nothing but the walls beyond where the figure was just standing.
Ren put the guns down, but he didn't remove the orb.
"I really have been spending too much time with Nora."
'Ugh, what was with me?'
Jared wondered as he walked down the hallway, stopping briefly as he sat down on a darker pathway.
'Who was she? And why did my head hurt when I saw her?'
"… A…" Jared's mouth managed to speak out before he felt his eyes water. He quickly wiped his face with his uniform sleeve. What was with him? Her name was Velvet Scarletina wasn't it? Why did seeing her make his heart ache?
"Go… it'll be better… I…omise…"
'Wait… is she my sixth mother? But why are my memories so strange around that area? Is there something that I really don't remember… or… is there something I don't want to remember?'
"Resh!"
Jared looked back and inwardly frowned. His dad ran up to him with a worried look in his eyes. "What was that?"
"She… she… reminded me of someone… but I don't know who." Jared answered softly but didn't say much afterward.
Jaune wondered if Jared was hiding something from him. Actually, he remembered his youngest sister Juliet in acting similar to how Jared acted when there was something she didn't want to tell. From al the time that Jaune has been with Jared, he didn't know much about his past. Rather, it was like he didn't want to talk about his past. Still, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of life his friend had before coming here, but he was curious.
"You wanna talk about it more?"
Jared paused for a second and looked at Jaune before both of their scrolls beeped. When they both checked it, it was a message from Ren saying that the needed to meet.
Everyone else in team JNPR met up at the loading and unloading bay for Ren. Nora, being particularly glad to have her super best friend who was a guy and they weren't 'together-together' back, ran up and hugged her magenta eyed friend.
"Ren, your back! And why do you smell so weird?" Nora exclaimed excitedly when she hugged her friend before stepping back from smelling a strange smell on him.
"I… This conversation needs to be private." He stated solemnly.
The team quieted down after he said that. There was something about the tone of his voice that sounded urgent but private.
With heavy silence, Team JNPR made their way back into their room where Pyrrha and Jared quickly closed their windows and locked the doors.
"So uhh why the secrecy, Ren?" Jaune asked nervously.
The usually stoic boy nodded, before first taking something out of his person and handing it to Jared who sat nearby him.
"Thanks, these really helped."
Jared, while thankful, sadly spoke out. "I was actually hoping for you to say that you didn't need these."
Jaune pointed to the Armaments of Raijin that Ren had just recently handed over to Jared. "Whoa wait! Why did Ren have your weapon!? And is that why you didn't bring it with you a while ago?!"
"It was a last minute thought to be honest. I thought it would be OK. But what exactly did you find out that was really so important?" The raven haired boy asked.
"First let me start from the beginning…" Ren then told his tale from the start, from meeting with Verily to warding away the assassin in the sewers.
The rest of the team was unusually silent, but for different reasons.
Pyrrha and Jaune were shocked to hear all of those things happening. They didn't know that they had potentially stumbled on to something really big.
Jared was silent and contemplative. He was focusing more on the fact the Assassin attacking Ren, were they in danger now that he failed to kill him?
Nora was just so glad Ren was safe and she just hugged her best friend while also asking how cool it was to wear Jared's armor.
"I admit," Ren answered Nora. "It was a very strange experience."
"Wait, wait," Jaune rigorously shook his head. "Are the two people we were supposed to meet… dead?" Jaune asked in shock.
Jared thought deeply again as Ren nodded. They were killed by an assassin of all things, which meant that there was something going that was bigger than they expected. How exactly did the assassin know to target the victims that Ren was going to meet? Were they spying on us? Why? Was someone working for them secretly and alerted them to us putting our noses where it didn't belong?
However, Jared was snapped out of his thoughts as his father brought up something startling.
"Did they die… because of us?"
Jared snapped his head towards his dad with his red eyes. Two people were dead, and all he cared about was the conditions of how they died? … Since when was he this—
'DAMN YOU, SPAWN!'
Jared felt a horrible ache in his head.
'Get me out of here! Please! Anywhere but here, any time but now!'
"Oh Monty…" Jared gasped softly but everyone in the room heard him.
He was the one that even felt something wrong in the first place. He was the one who pursued some kind of strange error that didn't fit before. Now here he was, guilty of killing two innocent souls simply because he couldn't let bygones be bygones. Was this why he was in the past? To ruin other people's lives for his own?
Just like—
Wait… where did that come from?
He ruined people's lives before? That wasn't from his memories… right?
Red as blood. Black as ash.
"Resh?" Jaune asked in worry, for some reason Jared could barely hear his dad calling out to him.
Jared stared at the floor as if it wasn't there. Reality blurred with images he didn't recognize, several dead bodies were in front of him.
The child from the future wasn't in Team JNPR's dorm anymore, he found himself among watch a building set a flame, people dropping dead and Atlas Dreadnaughts right behind him. That word struck a chord on him, familiar, cold, hateful.
Dreadnaught… those weren't anywhere near his future…
In the blur of what was real and fake, did Jared turn around? Did Jared really see tall, ominous figures with electronic eyes that bore into his soul?
Red as the blood on his hands, black as his soul.
He heard something among the supposed dead bodies in front of him, he turned his head around.
One of them, barely alive with his face scared in flames and bruises, grabbed desperately on to his arms eyes fully of hate and his last words full of venom before falling dead.
"I killed them." Jared muttered darkly in both the dream and reality as he beheld the darkness around him.
"Resh?"
Red eyes. Black hair.
The dream and reality started to blur together, both the vision and he started to gasp for air.
A hand appeared on his shoulder and Jared looked up to those same blue eyes that he had always come to admire.
"Resh, are you alright?" He asked again, with everyone else looking at him with the same amount of concern.
"I… I need some air." He swatted away the caring hand and quickly made his way out the dorm. Something was wrong something was very wrong.
"Did… did he say he killed them?" Jaune asked out loud to no one in particular. Jaune thought about it a bit but it confused him. "Why did he say that?
"It wasn't him. It was the assassin." Ren stated solemnly. "Resh might be blaming himself for killing those two people in the first place since he was the one that pointed out the odd contradictions. It might be all of our fault, we didn't know what we were getting into."
"Do we tell someone about this? Assassination? Political cover ups?" Pyrrha asked with worry. "This sounds a little out of hand."
Nora then looked to Jaune. "So? What do we do leader?"
Jaune blinked and suddenly looked around himself. Everyone was looking expectantly at him at what they would do next.
"Uhh… Uhh I… I'm going after Resh." Jaune managed to say before leaving the dorm as well.
As soon as he left though, he felt himself inwardly degrading himself. For the first time, his entire team looked to him for answers and all he could do was run away.
Why was he even chosen as a leader anyway? It really should have been Pyrrha, heck even Resh would have made a much better leader than him. He didn't know what to do in these situations!
Heck, he wasn't even sure that this was where Resh left towards!
Jaune sighed before walking out into a balcony and sighing as he sat down a bench. He really shouldn't have been made leader. He faked his transcripts for crying out loud!
'Way to go Jaune, when push comes to shove, you're actually a coward. Maybe I should just quit while I'm behind. '
"Oh, Mr. Arc."
Jaune turned his head to see Doctor Helsing, the man working with Jared, walking up casually to him.
"I just saw Resh go towards the gold statue in the eastern bloc. He looked troubled, is something wrong?"
"Well…"
Do scraggly and messy doctor quickly understood the air around him. "OK, some heavy stuff happened. I can see that. So are you going to catch up with Resh or what?"
"I… umm I don't know. I don't think it should be me, since I don't…"
The doctor sighed, but casually placed his hand on Jaune's shoulder for comfort.
"Hey, kid, if it makes you feel any better, no one is perfect. We all make mistakes, everyone does. I bet there are mistakes that even the most perfect looking people make—no, trust me if we didn't make mistakes we wouldn't be human, so don't tell me your friends are perfect compared to you." He said quickly when he saw Jaune about to say something. He seemed depressed, so it stood to reason that he would jump the self hurt train and insult himself, but envy his team mates.
"First, you need to realize that comparing yourself to others will only lead to disappointment. So don't be too hard on yourself. Second, back to the mistake or problem you guys have. You should go and try to fix it."
"But it's not that simple!" Jaune said back.
"Of course it's not. But standing here and moping around is not going to help you get out of this problem now is it?" Dr. Helsing sighed before looking away and showing a more melancholic look on his face.
"Look, I'm not asking to let you tell me what's wrong, you are supposed to do that if you want me to know. But trust me when I say this: if you don't patch things up with your friends soon… you'll lose them faster than you expect…" He said with a softer voice.
Jaune still seemed a little unsure. "But… but I…"
Dr . Helsing looked perplexed at what to do next. He was a doctor not a councilor. What exactly could he do?
He patted Jaune's back with a sudden change in character. "Hmm… do you mind if I re play one of my favorite movie quotes?"
Jaune looked at the older, messy doctor in confusion as he stood up straight, fixed his posture, took an eye patch out of one of his pockets—why did he have that?—and gave Jaune a very strange but intense look in his eyes.
Next he started talking like a pirate for some reason. "Now you listen to me, Jaune Arc, ya got the making of greatness in ya! But ya gotta take the helm and chart your own course! Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes you got a chance to really test the cut of your sails and show what you're made off! Well… I hope I'm there… catching some of the light coming off you that day..."
Every word he said was spoken with amazing passion, different from the lazy looking man in front of him, but with each line he moved his body, emphasizing the high and the soft points of that speech just like the movie that speech came from.
Jaune recognized that line, it was one of his favorite movies as a kid. To hear an adult say those words to him, felt good. It felt genuine.
"I know that movie…" Jaune said softly, recalling old memories of happier times.
"Good, it's underappreciated as is." Dr. Helsing fixed himself. "Now get out of here and fix your problems. I've always been bad at this stuff." He then made his way out casually.
Jaune smiled. "Thanks."
The doctor only raised his hand lazily as he left.
Jaune looked over to where the Dr. pointed his missing teammate was. "Well… let's hope I rattle something Jill."
Jared stared at a statue of a golden warrior. His vision blurred and the statue in front of him under the blue sky was quickly replaced with a broken gold version, gaining old dust and moss under a darkened sky… also lacking anything above its lower torso.
It hurt his head. Most of his other memories came by naturally, so why where these coming in so painfully? Jared placed his hand on the base of the statue, trying to support himself, while another hand was on his head, hoping by somehow holding his head the pain would lessen.
It was then the wanderer heard someone behind him.
"Uh hey, Resh?"
Jared inwardly sighed. "Hey… sir. What are you doing here?" The boy from the future had a feeling he would come, his dad was kind like that.
Jaune immediately didn't know what to say, so he tried to re quote that old cartoon movie Dr. Helsing did. "Uhh… umm… Charter your own course! Cut the sails down and show me some of your light!"
"… What?"
"Err…" Jaune sighed. "So, why did you run off back then?"
"Sir… I killed them. I was the one who thought something was wrong and now, two innocent people are dead because of me!"
"Whoa! Hey! Stop right there! Ren said that it wasn't your fault! It was the guy who attacked him in the sewers."
"But if I never said anything, they wouldn't have—"
"Did you even hear what Ren said? Verily lived her whole life alone in her apartment, but she was thankful for Ren for trying to find the truth!"
"Easy for you to say! … Look, Jaune… I… I don't belong here."
Jaune blinked, trying to process the words he just said.
"W-What do you mean you don't belong here!? You got in the normal way—"
"Jaune! I did not! Someone placed me here! I never wanted to come here in the first place!" Jared yelled abruptly, screaming loud and annoyed. His face became sadder and calmer. "I was forced to come here against my will for some ungodly unknown reason and now? I just caused two innocent people to die. Worst of all, I don't even think I can get back home…" He whispered that last sentence softly.
"Wait… you didn't apply to Beacon? You didn't want to be here?" Jaune asked making the wanderer look at him confusingly.
Jaune couldn't believe it, there was someone like him? Well not really like him, but still! There was someone who also felt he didn't belong here, for different reasons, but that wasn't the point! Of all the people here, Jaune didn't think of Resh Kolc to understand how he really felt here in Beacon. How strange was it that these two people, so different in character and in skills, had something like this in common and would become best friends without them even knowing about it?
The idea was just too funny to Jaune. Suddenly, the blue eyes boy burst into laughter. "Oh wow! Sorry! Sorry! It's just… Resh, did you know? I… I faked my transcripts."
Oh right, he forgot about that. Jared forgot that his father wasn't the same one he knew in the future, he was still Jaune Arc, the bumbling student that is currently a sheep in wolf's clothing. Not Jaune Arc the super hunter in the future.
"Oh." Jared managed to say after an awkward silence.
"Oh? That's all you have to say?" Jaune asked cautiously.
Jared rubbed his neck as he struggled with his next words "Weeelll, to be honest that explains some things. … A lot of things really. It makes more sense the more I think about it. Man is this what clarity feels like?"
"You could act more shocked and/or empathetic, you jerk." Jaune deadpanned, but didn't realize that he was feeling more relaxed now, sure he was here illegally, but telling someone about it… helped… somewhat… maybe. Wait, did he just tell the guy who enjoys his suffering his darkest secret?
"Well, I could, but think of all the leverage I now have over you for revealing to me your darkest secret." Jared smiled.
Oh Monty.
"You bastard!" Jaune darkly said.
Jared laughed, he genuinely laughed. "… Thanks Jaune… I do feel better." It wasn't how his dad would cheer him up, but hey. It still worked.
"OK, so you didn't want to be here and I… you know…"
"Which only means that not only did we just accidentally cause the death of two innocent people, but now two people didn't get into Beacon because of us." Jared stated solemnly before giving a weak smile. "Dear lord, we're terrible."
"If you weren't so right, I'd finally be happy you admitted you were a jerk. But since you said that and made me feel like a jerk, I still hate you even more." Jaune gave a weak smile back before he inhaled deeply. "But hey, we can't do anything about the past now. Let's go back, maybe one day we'll both make up for our mistakes, and we can't do that feeling sorry for ourselves."
Jared raised his brow. "Whoa, whoa, you aren't feeling down on yourself? You, who usually gets so dejected from your daily one-sided banter with Weiss? Who are you and what have you done with Jaune?"
Jaune Arc rolled his eyes. "Oh ha ha. But in all seriousness, someone just said… to believe in myself. And reminded me of something small, but important in my life."
"I believe in you, Jaune." Jared said out of the blue. "Even if you are a liar."
"… Same to you Resh. But… I don't want to be a liar to my friends."
Jared reflected silently on those words before walking beside Jaune. "You're going to tell the others, aren't you?"
"… One day, just not now. Maybe our team first, when the time is right." He said solemnly. He would have to prepare himself for that day unlike this time.
Jared smiled, before a question appeared into his mind that never occurred to him through all his life.
"Sir, if I may ask, why did you fake your transcripts and come to Beacon anyway?"
He never knew why he had done it. He never thought to ask during all those different futures. He was just happy to be with him, yet he never truly did know his father that much.
Jaune stared at Jared, as if contemplating something. "You already know this much…"
The blonde boy stared seriously at Jared there was this fierceness in his eyes that told him that he was serious about this.
"I'm looking for my sister, Jillian Arc. She's been MIA for ten years."
{Author Notes/Review Response}
Wait a sec… Jaune's on a secret mission of his own?
What the What?
Sorry again for the lateness in this one. I've been playing a lot more League of Legends recently, and it's been devouring my time Like Chogath using his Ult on Teemo.
… What? Wrong joke on wrong section of FF?
Well, it's not really a joke even in the League community, but I'm getting out of topic again.
For those of you that noticed, Treasure Planet, is a real movie by Disney.
It is without a doubt my favorite Disney movie, but is so criminally underrated. The relationship between Jim and Silver just hits me right in the heart. And it has a certain magic that I don't really see in Disney anymore, it might be bias, but I loved it even with its small flaws.
I really recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to go watch it anyway you can. It should be on Netflix…
It also has some of my favorite music.
Anyway, just as a heads up, this 'episode' might be longer than the date fiasco, so this one will drag out a bit longer, but trust me. I am excited for what happens after this episode.
Before I leave this topic, I'd also like to point out that some of the events in Jaunedice? … what was the name of that Episode again? It escaped me…
Bah, basically it still somewhat parallels it. Jaune gets a confidence boost from someone he didn't expect, and reveals his secret.
And gets blackmailed!
The good kind!
… NO! I DIDN'T MEAN INCEST, YOU SICKOS!
Abrupt Topic Change!
I just found a new story that's also taking the time traveling kid concept. It's such a fun story idea and it would be rude for me not top point it out and recommend you guys reading it.
"Remnant Falls No More" By Texa52
It starts off with a darker tone than this story, but it looks way more organized than mine does. There's also the fact that unlike Jared Arc, Texa52's Character does not have some kind of special Temporal Anti-Amnesia, and clearly knows who the parents are.
Anywho, next time, we go to Forever Falls?
And what exactly are these special Grimm Ozpin seems worried about?
Why am I asking these questions? Because I have to do something to remind you about the major plot points I'm going to be focusing on.
Thanks again for the support and for reading this story. See ya soon.
THE-Twilight-BlazeKnight(chapter 16 . Aug 11): Thanks a lot for the suggestions they helped me with some parts of this chapter.
I actually did consider that just like in the series, Ruby comes in and gives Jaune some confidence boost instead of an OC, but then I wouldn't get a chance to talk about Treasure Planet.
I don't care, I loved that movie!
Thanks for the compliment about team CRDL. I thought it would be a cool idea to give them more vivid personalities instead of one dimensional bullies.
About the bad things though, it might be a little hard to work in the rest of team RWBY since the episodes around this time focus on Jaune and Pyrrha for some reason…
dracohalo117 chapter 16 . Jul 29: Umm I might have written something wrong, because Verily's husband is dead. Also, they argued while they married, but they never hated each other. I was trying to go for that they are the type of lovers that say many mean things to each other, but are honestly in love with each other. Her husband has never even thought about regretting marrying her.
dark habit chapter 16 . Jul 25: I honestly forgot about his somewhat questionable stamina! Hmm, thanks for that!
Enerjack chapter 16 . Jul 24: I have really got to pay more attention to those minor errors. I make way too many of them.
THE-Twilight-BlazeKnight chapter 15 . Jul 19: Team Rwby will fit in the Arc—HAHAHA—Erhm… they'll play an important role later in this story episode.
SMxABULM chapter 15 . Jul 17: Aww, thank you.
dracohalo117 chapter 15 . Jul 16: A little late, but I wouldn't want you to stress yourself. Just take your time.
Schniedragon88 chapter 15 . Jul 16: Heheheheh.
THEREADINGADDICT chapter 15 . Jul 16: Oops. I wasn't complaining to you. Or I didn't mean to complain.
Uh sorry about that. I was just really surprised. If I did come out angry, I really didn't mean to be.
Guest chapter 15 . Jul 15: Well, I wouldn't exactly say… better names… as for the Jared and REsh thing. Yeah, that's kind of hard. I didn't realize it would be this confusing to talk about the two. College Fool did tell me about just changing the last name, but I didn't really know about that…
Amonamon chapter 15 . Jul 15: Haha. Yeah maybe that's one of the factors… or is there something more to this than meets the eyes?
{Deleted/Edited Scene: A different person.}
"Ahh, Mr. Kolc! I see you are in wistful awe of this heroic statue's presence yes?"
"… Professor Port?"
The portly professor prepared himself patiently with a plump smile on his lips.
"A fine statue isn't it? You would think that the statue is made out of solid gold, but in fact it's made out of only 25% gold! I do believe the center was marble or something else entirely. This may have been a smaller marble statue but then the school decided to coat it with gold. I don't know why they would do that though, wastes more money like that but…" Amazingly, the professor stopped himself from rambling when he saw the down cast look on Jared's face.
"But enough of me blasting away at your ears. Is there something wrong?"
A sad smile appeared on Jared's face. 'Something wrong? Try everything and then some.' "Professor Port…"
What exactly could he say really? That he accidentally killed innocent people because he stuck his nose where he didn't belong? Say he almost killed his favorite uncle for following a simple clue? Admit he came from the future and now his mind was tearing him apart from what is real and what was in his memories?
"… I… I'm not supposed to be here." Surprisingly of all the things to say, only that came out.
"Oh don't say that. Anyone welcomed into Beacon surely—"
"I'm not supposed to be here. I didn't want to be here! I didn't even know I was going to be sent here! And now… I made everything worse!" Jared snapped angrily and shouted at him, before he realized what he did and coiled back in shame. Frustration and maybe even tears coming up to his eyes.
Jared didn't know what kind of face that Professor Port was making due to the fact his facial hair covered most of his discerning features. But his body language said something else, he seemed to stand straight up, puffing his chest and looking very determined, his face looked pointed as if his eyes were looking into Jared's red ones despite the boy not being able to see his teacher's eyes.
"Mr. Kolc, do you want to know something?"
Jared didn't say anything and just waited.
"Did you know that before I became a hunter, before I killed my first Grimm, I was a coward?"
He then looked up to the statute as he continued on.
"When I was young, I lived in a small town. It was a quiet little place that was near the edge of Vale, an border town if you will. I was rather pathetic if you would imagine. I was considered the town crybaby, I was insulted by all the men and boys there and the girls thought I had cooties like they thought all boys had,"
Jared noticed that Professor Port was telling another story. Yet this time, he wasn't exactly boasting about his greatness or the ferocity of a Grimm. There was an air of humility around him that made his story sound… nice.
"One day, there was a traveling merchant going through town. I will never forget that exotic man. The way he used his words were magnificent, it was like whatever he said there was magic behind them. When I was alone with him, he told me a special secret: that if you would pretend to be something long enough, you would start to be it. In essence, he told me by pretending to be brave, I would in turn be brave myself. And so, I tried it, I tried imagining myself being brave. At first i would venture off the edges of town further than I normally would, until I kept going further and further, finding myself more curious than scared of my surroundings beside me. Over time, whenever I was scared, I simply pretended to be brave. It changed my outlook on things, and I truly did start to change because of such build up from something so small. I no longer saw Grimm as beasts, but rather as Sport, the weapons I was once frightened of made me want to find even more powerful ones to suit my needs, and it helped me talk to the woman of my dreams... bless her soul."
Professor Port laughed.
"It was all thanks to that story telling merchant. He forever changed my life with a story. So, when I see you young ones, I hope that my tales can inspire you to change your lives for the better."
