Chapter 24: New arrival
Third Person
After Elsa had told the servants and guard that Anna was about to have her baby they all rushed off in different directions to find everyone. Luna (one of the servants) went rushing to get the doctor. She ran down the corridors and down the stairs to his office where she forgot to knock and just burst in "Princess Anna is having her baby! NOW!" She said in a panic.
He looked at her in shock "You have to be joking!"
"No Sir I would never joke about a thing like this! Princess Anna is in the Queens room" With that Luna went running off to find Kai and Gerda to tell them the good news. Once Luna had left, Doctor Harrison gathered everything he felt that would be useful during the birth then rush up to Elsa's bedroom.
Meanwhile the other servant (Rae) rushed to Anna and Kristoff's room trying to find him. She knocked urgently on the door "Who is it?" came a muffled voice from inside.
"It's Rae, Sir may I come in its very urgent!" Her voice came out firm but soft.
The door opened and out stepped Kristoff "You need to go to Queen Elsa's chambers now!"
"Why?" He asked looking confused.
"Kristoff your about to become a father."
He went pale and dizzy falling to the floor. Rae looked at him trying to figure out what to do Water! She thought so she rushed into his bathroom got a glass of water then poured it over him. He groaned and rubbed his head "Are you sure she's not playing a trick she done that to me a few weeks ago?"
"No Sir. Queen Elsa told me and then sent me to find you, Luna to find Doctor Harrison and Felix to go out to try and find Princess Amber and Master Stain."
With that Kristoff run past her to Elsa's room "Thank you!" He shouted to Rae as he turned a corner.
Kristoff almost fell twice as he slipped running to Elsa's room in a panic when he finally reached her door his face was red and he was panting. Catching his breath he reached for the handle when he heard screaming from inside, he stopped a minute and stared at the door as if he was trying to see through it at what was going on inside then sat down on the floor. I'm not ready for this! What if something is wrong and that's why the baby is early! Was it something I done? He though then shook his head. Your wife is in there and is about to have our baby! Pull yourself together and just go in! With that he stood up and opened the door he saw Anna on the bed panting, Elsa next to her and the doctor talking to Anna. Elsa was the only one to notice Kristoff walk in, she quickly stood up and ushered him out then shut the door behind them both.
"What do you think you are doing?" Elsa whispered.
"Um, going to help my wife during the birth of our child." He answered feeling confused.
"Kristoff, didn't Doctor Harrison tell you. You're not aloud to be in here while Anna is giving birth." She said softly.
"But" then came another scream "she needs me." He was beginning to get worried.
"You may not be aloud in there but I am. Trust me I won't let anything happen to her." She smiled hugging him.
"Thank you Elsa. Can you tell her that I'm right outside if she wants me or needs me and tell her I love her and I know she can do this." He said sitting against the wall by the door.
"I will." She said kissing him on the cheek then going back into her room.
"Where are you Stain I need you right now!" He groaned into his hands.
Felix had gathered 3 other guards and they all rushed to the back stables and hopped on their horses then rode to the front of the castle "You" He pointed to one of the guards "go search by the North Mountain to see if Princess Amber and Stain are there" he turned to the next guard "Go search town and you go look by the fjord and I will look on the beach. We will meet back here in 1 hour and if we still haven't found them we will get the Captain and a bigger search party." Felix instructed, the men nodded and galloped off in different directions.
"Princess Amber!" Felix called riding along the beach "Master Stain!" Ahead there were faint sounds of hooves hitting the ground so Felix made a clicking sound with his mouth causing his horse to go from galloping to sprinting. When they neared the end of the beach Felix could make out something moving by the edge. "Princess Amber! Master Stain!" He called.
Amber and Stain brought Chandler and Matilda to a stop "What is the meaning of disturbing me and my daughter on our fine evening" Stain said firmly as Felix rode up by them "If this isn't a good excuse then"
"Papa let the guard explain himself I'm sure there is a good reason." Amber said sincerely.
"Oh yes Princess and Sir I do."
"Well get on with it." Stain huffed annoyed someone had ruined his quality time with Amber.
"Well you need to get back to the castle, like now"
"What ever for? Oh Mama didn't panic did she!"
"No Princess Amber." He reassured her, hearing a silent sigh of relief escape her lips "It's your Aunt, she's having her baby" Stain and Amber both didn't hesitate they made Matilda and Chandler sprint as fast as they could. When they reached the stables they didn't even bother putting them away "Could you put these two back please? We would do it but we are in a bit of a rush." Amber asked a stable boy.
"Of course Princess Amber." He smiled
"Thanks Travis." She waved as her and Stain run up the stairs the find Kristoff on the floor.
"Uncle Kristoff why aren't you in there with Aunt Anna?" she said as soon as she saw him.
"Men aren't aloud in there whilst their wives are giving birth so I am out here waiting! Your mum is in there though!" He looked passed Amber and at Stain "I keep hearing screaming but I know it's not time yet! I told you I knew something was wrong!"
"Amber could you go get us some tea please?" Stain asked.
"Sure Papa." Amber got up and ran downstairs.
"Kristoff I know its hard and I know your worried as the baby is 3 months early but I'm sure everything will be fine, Anna is a fighter and I know this baby is going to be too."
"But Stain what if everything isn't ok! What will I do then? I can't live with out Anna and if she goes I will have nothing." His eyes began to flood with water. Stain sat down on the floor next to Kristoff.
"You need to stop thinking like this! Anna and your baby are going to be great after this and you will be a proper little family! No one can take that away from you." Stain smiled.
"Thanks."
"Hey here's something that will make you laugh, before me and Amber went riding she caught me talking to Matilda and she said and I quote 'You really need to find some other friends apart from Uncle Kristoff, Naveen, Eric and Eugene!' Bloody cheek of it." Stain laughed making Kristoff laugh a little.
"Well you where talking to a horse now that's just plain weird." Kristoff said with a straight face while Stain's face went into shock "I'm joking." Kristoff laughed nudging Stain.
Amber walked back up the stairs with two cups of tea a scream/groan came from inside Elsa's room causing Amber to nearly drop the cups "Here you go." Amber said handing the two cups to Kristoff and Stain.
"Thank you "They both said.
"Umm Papa is it ok if I go find Tristan just for a while I will be back in about 30 minutes. I promise I won't be late." Stain looked at Kristoff then back at Amber.
"How about you take as much time as you need being here is no place for young girls." Stain said to his daughter.
"Oh thank you Papa. Bye I will be back soon to meet my new baby cousin!" and with that she run off down the hall.
Elsa's Prov
It had been over an hour since Anna first started having her contractions. Kristoff was outside waiting for us to come out and say his baby was here but I think he was with Stain as I can hear mumbling from outside the door. Anna was in pain I could see it in her eyes and every so often she would let out a scream I just hope it's over soon but I also wish I was in her place as I would rather deal with the pain then her.
I was sitting next to Anna holding her hand, her little face was red and she was sweating. "Elsa" she panted "I'm sorry." She looked over at me.
"Sorry? What ever for?" I am so confused.
"Well I'm in your bed and well you baby niece is coming."
"Oh well at least I know you are safe. I though you said you didn't know what gender it was?"
"Instinct." She groaned again very loudly.
"The contractions have stopped the baby is about to come." Doctor Harrison said to Anna.
I looked at her "Ready?"
"As I ever will be."
"You can do I know you can and I'm right here so if it hurts just squeeze my hand"
"Right on the count of three you are going to need to push." Doctor Harrison said to her. "One… Two… Push!"
Anna squeezed my hand so much I could just about feel them she screamed as she was doing it. It wasn't as loud as when she first started having the contractions but still loud.
"Come on Anna you can do this just a few more pushes." I encouraged.
"Another push Anna I should see a head soon." It sounded really weird but it doesn't matter all that mattered was Anna getting through this.
A few pushes later this came "I see the head about two more big pushes and then you will get to hold your baby."
"Come on Anna PUSH!" I said.
"ARGH." She began to push again then started to pant "Elsa I don't think I can do this." She said out of breath.
"Yes you can Anna now one more push and you will get to meet your baby and I will get to meet my new niece or nephew!" she squeezed my hand even more and gave one last push screaming even harder trying to stop thinking about the pain.
All you suddenly heard was a cry it was me or Anna, my face light up "Anna you done it!" she was smiling.
"Anna I'd like you to meet your new daughter."
Kristoff's Prov
"Listen!" Stain said hitting me on my shoulder then putting a finger to his lips.
"I can't hear anything?" I looked at him confused.
"Listen closer." He said trying to stay quiet.
I listened harder, slowed my breathing down, trying my best to stay quiet. "Crying? It's not Anna or Elsa's I've heard theirs!" I looked at him, my eyes widened; a smile grew on my face.
"Kristoff you're a dad!" he said hugging me.
"Do you think I can go in?" as I said this the door opened and Elsa walked out I stood up and walked over to her, she smiled wiping away tears "Can I go see her now?" I asked edging towards her.
"Of course you can" She hugged me.
I left her and Stain in the corridor and closed the door I walked slowly over to the bed where Anna was admiring our baby then she looked over at me "Hey." She smiled.
"Hey" I breathed.
I sat down next to the bed "It's a girl Kristoff."
I studied our baby girl "A beautiful baby girl who looks like her mummy." I said looking at Anna and brushing a piece of hair out of her face. "What should we call her?" I asked.
"Destiny"
"Destiny?" I looked back at her "Destiny." I smiled "I think that name suits her very well."
"I'm glad you like it. Amber chose it earlier." She said wriggling back to sit up. "Here." She held out Destiny to me. At first I hesitated she was so small and my arms looked like they would crush her but finally I took her, I held her as if she was a delicate piece of china that could break at the slightest movement. She looked up at me with big green eyes.
"She has your eyes." I smiled looking over at Anna I stared at Destiny in my arms she moved her hands about trying to grab my face I brought her a little closer where she grabbed my nose "Ow." I let out as she was pulling she let out a squeal of happiness "Oh you think its funny hurting daddy! Do you?" I said in a playful voice letting her giggle even more.
"It's weird to think we made her isn't it." Anna smiled.
"Yes it is but I feel like our lives wouldn't be complete without her." I kept holding her as Anna looked like she was about to fall asleep "Destiny, I promise you I will never ever let anyone hurt you. Our family is the most important thing in my life, you, your mummy; your Aunt Elsa, your Uncle Stain and your Cousin Amber, you all are all that matters to me. I dedicate my life to being the best dad you will ever have and to making your life the best." I just sat there admiring my baby girl knowing she would have the best life we could give her and I knew from the moment I saw her she would be spoilt rotten by us all.
Amber's Prov
I walked down the stairs to the library I wasn't really going to see Tristan I just wanted to find a way of leaving Papa and Uncle Kristoff alone I didn't like lying but Papa probably wouldn't let me go if I asked to just go to the library. I walked in and looked down the isles for a book that looked interesting. I love reading its one thing I can do and feel normal with all the fairytales and magic happening in some of them. I found one that sounded fun 'The tales of Flynnigan Rider' I picked it up and walked to the sofa by the fireplace with a candle next to me as I sat down I heard the door open I thought nothing of it though as I presumed it must be a servant I just turned and went back to my book I glanced back over my shoulder before I started a new page. But as I tried to read I heard mumbling I stood up and holding the book I closed it quietly then crept to the isle where I had heard the mumbling I looked down to see Tristan and Olaf talking "She's great and all but really I'm pretty scared of her I mean everyone is!" Is he talking about me? "I only hang out with her because my Aunt told me to!" He told Olaf I hid in the shadows so neither one could see me.
"She's not that bad you two seem really close though!"
"We where she still thinks we still are but I just want to keep my distance from her! I mean I'm really glad she didn't come today we had more fun without her!" He said coldly. I had heard enough I was hurt, thorns shot out of my hands, if he didn't want to be my friend then fine I walked out the shadows, my shoe made a loud sound making them both turn and look at me.
"Oh hi Amber." Olaf said as if nothing had happened I looked at Tristan who was smiling then back at Olaf I turned and walked out the library still holding the book I would just read it in my room.
When I got back to Mama's room Mama and Papa where sitting outside "Mama how comes you aren't in there helping Aunt Anna?" I asked.
She stood up and took my hand "Close your eyes." I closed them "Follow me but keep them closed" I did as I was told, then we came to a stop "Open your eyes" I opened them and looked in front of me I saw Aunt Anna holding her baby.
She smiled at me "Meet your new baby cousin." I looked at my new cousin she had big green eyes like Aunt Anna, a smile like Uncle Kristoff's, the cutest little giggle ever and a fully head of brown locks like... I don't know who she got them off of?
"She's beautiful!" I smiled "What's her name?"
"Well me and Kristoff have thought about it and we have decided to call her Destiny." My eyes lit up.
"You picked the name I said!"
"Yes I thought it suited her very well!" Uncle Kristoff smiled putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Amber come sit down and you can hold her" I was just about to when I realised I still had the book in my hand, which reminded me of what Olaf and Tristan had said, I knew I couldn't hold Destiny angry I could hurt her and I didn't want that.
"I think Mama and Papa should hold her before as I need to do something quickly." I smiled and darted out of the room rushing to mine. I walked in and placed the book on my bed then out of my room again and sat in the chair outside my door trying to calm down then I heard voices coming along the corridor choosing to ignore them I just sat there trying to figure out what to do to calm down.
"Hey, are you ok?" Tristan said as I looked up her smiled at me anger came flooding back. I got up and stormed back into my room slamming the doors behind me.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" He came storming in after me.
"Don't you know you can't just walk in on a Princess with out knocking or asking to come in?" I stated. "And what's wrong with me? I will tell you what's wrong with me! YOU" I said backing away from him, tears streaming down my face "well listen up you don't have to pretend to be my friend anymore because I'm done with hanging out with you, talking to you, helping you; I am just done with you!" He looked gobsmacked "Now get out I want to be calm when I hold my new baby cousin." He stood frozen to the spot.
"Amber… I don't"
"That's Princess Amber to you" I said cutting him short "now get out!" I turned away and walked out on to my balcony staring over the fjord at the moon light behind me I heard my door close. I hugged myself. Now I'm defiantly alone.
