We Believe- You got lucky with that. I actually have schedule, I update a new chapter every Monday and Thursday, you got lucky by reviewing on a Wednesday! Thanks for following and favouriting as well!

...I never considered that! That would have been really good for some drama with the reporters!

Jackie: No. No it would not have been.

*cough* Although, in all honesty, the reporters probably got scared off by Jack using his winter magic.

Jackie: THANK YOU!

In other news, it seems that link I put to the DeviantArt group doesn't work (or appear) I have no idea how to rectify this. So, I suggest typing DeviantArt into google, then through DeviantArt look up Human Order of Guardians. Anything related to it should be in the group, which will be on the right side bar near the bottom. It doesn't have an icon, just so you know.

Now, on with the show! Second to last chapter, go!

"JACKIE!"

In front of the lake was my mom and dad being led by Jamie. My mom was a head shorter than my dad and had blue instead of brown eyes. Mom's hair hung by her shoulders, framing her heart shaped face while dad's was starting to disappear from his round head.

"Mom, dad."

They ran skilfully over the lake, having gotten used to moving about on ice in my lifetime. Once they reached me they sat down on the ice and gave me a hug.

"What are you doing out here, you're freezing!" cried my mom.

"I'm always cold, remember. It's better for me out here rather than in a hospital."

"Why would you need a hospital, and what's with the armour?" asked dad.

I gave them the rundown of why I ran off and a very brief account of the fight, trying to tone down the worst parts, so most of it.

"...So next thing I know, I'm lying on the lake with Jack next to me."

"Jack?" they asked in unison. I cursed mentally as I tried to be as vague as possible
with the explanation.

"Jack Frost. He's been helping me get more control with my power." I mentally kicked myself, why did I have to say it was Jack Frost, I could have just made up a surname!

"How old is he?" She asked, weird look on her face and not seeing to notice the surname.

"Um, hard to say, he looks about my age, give or take." I said cautiously, wondering where she was going.

My mom's face split into a grin, "You've met a boy your age?"

"Oh, please not this. It's not like that!" I insisted, ever since my birthday she's been pestering me about this.

"Maybe not now, but later down the line..."

"Mom!"

She laughed and pulled me into another hug. "I'm only teasing you sweetie."

She pulled back with the same grin on her face.

"But seriously, you'll have to introduce us some time!"

I groaned and thought to myself 'good luck with that.'

Beside me I could hear Jack laughing uncontrollably and I sent a glare in his direction. Next to him Jamie was sniggering, so he also got the glare.

"Come on, we'd better get you home." Said dad, trying to pull me up.

"Erm, small issue with that." I said as my legs collapsed beneath me again.

"I can't stand up, and I need to let HOG know I'm alright."

"Does HOG really take precedence over your parents?" He asked, his arms folded.

"I, I don't know, but I need to at least report back before I go home."

"How are you going to get to them if you can't stand up?"

"I'm sure Jack will give me hand, I think he's already here."

"Where?" cried my mom, craning her neck and looked back and forth across the lake.

"He's shy around adults, so he won't appear until you've gone I'm afraid." I invented.

My parents looked like they were going to protest, but gave up when they saw my point of view.

"Alright, we'll be waiting for you at home. Call us when you're done."

Once they had disappeared I got Jack to bend down so I could wrap my arm around his shoulder.

"My age, give or take?" He asked, a grin on his face.

He helped me unsteadily to my feet and when it looked like I was going to fall again Jamie went to my other side and wrapped my other arm around his shoulders.

"Well, what was I supposed to say? 'He's approximately three hundred years old but looks like he's in his teens'?"

Jack let out a laugh as he slowly made our way across the lake.

"Are you sure about this?" Asked Jack as we slowly made our way to behind the rocks.

"Yes. They're probably just as worried as my parents."

We made it around the rocks and I began tapping my foot to find the entrance hole. After a while I found it and it opened up in the ground.

"How are we going to get you down there?" asked Jamie.

I concentrated hard and sent an ice bridge down the whole way of the hole, ice blades forming through the slits in my boots. To support my legs I send some ice up my legs and over my knees, holding them fast.

I controlled the skates so I moved away from Jack and Jamie's arms. To my delight I could stand up now without falling over.

I looked over my shoulder, "So, are you two coming?"

They both nodded without hesitation. I grinned and formed skates on Jamie's feet and he walked up to the ice bridge.

"Last one there's a kangaroo!" I yelled and I sent the skates down the hole. Behind me I heard Jack cry out and felt the wind as he zoomed past me.

"You'll have to go faster than that, kangaroo!" He yelled.

"You want fast snowman? I'll give you fast!"

I commanded my skates to move faster. I didn't have the strength to skate properly, but the skates did what they were told and I became level with Jack, with Jamie just behind me.

Before we could a proper race going we hit the end of the tunnel. Jack cried out in surprise and back pedalled, I kept going and managed to stretch out my arm, touching the earth and allowing it to melt away.

Jamie and I shot out and I formed an area of ice to stop on, where we slid to a halt, sending ice shavings across the Departure Cavern.

Jack flew out through the hole, indignant.

"You cheated!"

"How exactly, kangaroo?"

Jack scowled as I laughed, however my stomach had had enough of my laughter and sent a bolt of pain down it, causing me to double over in pain.

"Jackie!" cried Jamie, alarmed.

"I'm alright, damn bruises."

Since my ice supports wouldn't let me walk, I melted them and let Jack and Jamie catch me. Between us we slowly walked into the Main cavern.

It was quiet in there, with only the odd mournful looking person wandering around. It didn't take a genius to know what they were mourning about.

Next to entrance to the Departure Cavern sat Mary, looking tired with large shadows under her eyes.

She heard us coming and jumped up, and when she saw us her face split into a grin.

"Jackie!"

"Mary." I replied with a small grin.

He pushed past Jack and Jamie and gave me hug. I tried to hold back my gasp of pain as she put pressure on my various bruises.

"We were all so worried, it's been a week! Were you out for that long?"

"Apparently, I don't remember much of what happened though."

Mary pulled back and allowed Jack to steady me again.

"I'm sorry Mr. Frost."

"Seriously, just call me Jack."

"Sorry." She turned back to me, "Do you remember what happened to Penelope?"

"Yes, I think I remember starting to lose control, from there, nothing."

"So you don't know what you did?"

My heart was suddenly shot with dread, "What did I do?"

Mary looked around nervously.

"We can't discuss it here, I'll get the others together. Can you meet us in the Council Chamber?"

"They'll let us use that?"

"For this, yes."

She made to run off, then finally seemed to notice Jamie.

"And who are you, young man?"

"I'm Jamie, Jack and Jackie's friend."

"Well, if Jackie let you down here, you'll be welcome." She turned back to me, "I'll see you in the Council Chamber."

Jack and Jamie helped me over the Chamber, following my directions.

We went through the doors and sat down roughly in the middle of the table as we were the first there.

My Branch was the first to walk in.

"JACKIE!" they yelled and ran over to hug me.

"Ow, bruises guys." I groaned. They pulled away and to my surprise they all had red,
puffy eyes.

"We were so worried." Said Tina, looking like she was going to cry. "You looked to lifeless."

Nigel looked over at Jack and Jamie.

"Thank you, both of you, for keeping her safe."

They both smiled and bobbed their heads in identical movements, it was a little odd to see.

Other's burst in, each exclaiming their joy to see me alive. Last in were the five Heads, who took their position at the end of the table. They tried to remain stoic, but I didn't miss Alfred's clap on the back, or the smiles they sent my way.

"Now that we are all here." Said Jason, "We can finally begin a proper de-briefing."

He looked over my way, "First I would like to greet Mr. Frost and Jamie, and thank them for their part in making sure that Miss Davies returned to us safe and sound."

The whole table clapped politely and I saw that Jack and Jamie looked a little embarrassed.

"I would also like to extend a heartfelt welcome to Miss Davies and wish her a swift recovery, since I understand that you haven't regained your strength quite yet."

"Now," he turned to Mary, "I'd like you to give a report on the mission."

Mary stood up and recounted the bits I remembered, right up to the ambush and Samuel's plan.

"Samuel then went through with his statement a few months ago and killed Penelope. He was calling up some of his Descendants to form cells for us, when he got distracted by Jackie.
Jackie had become covered in frost and her sand bonds had become coated in it, causing them to break. The frost spread to the walls and turned to ice, forming icicles as her helmet seemed to begin to glow from the frost. We were all temporally blinded by a sudden bright light from what appeared to be some kind of explosion of ice. When our vision cleared we saw that all of the Descendants of Pitch, excluding Penelope, had been turned to ice.
Whatever Jackie had done had taken a lot of energy, as she quickly collapsed and appeared lifeless. We picked up Jackie and Penelope and left for the entrance, where we met Mr Frost and Jamie. Mr Frost said that taking her back underground would not be a good idea, and that she needed to be in the cold to recover, so we left her in their care."

Mary's report came to a finish and all I could do was stare at the table.

"I-I froze them all? But, there were hundreds of them." I asked, not wanting to believe it.

"Yes, and we have gone back to check, they don't show any signs of thawing out."

"Oh God..." I whimpered as tears began to prickle in my eyes. If I had the strength I'd have left the room, but I was stuck here as Jason stood up.

"There has been no activity reported in any of the other known bases, so we have reason to believe that there are no more active Descendants of Pitch. It's too early to declare victory, but we are almost certain that it's occurred."

There was a cheer at the idea of victory and Jason dismissed everyone. I didn't react when Jack and Jamie helped me up and I didn't even try to move my legs.

"It would help if you tried to walk." Grunted Jack, starting to struggle.

I tried to move my legs in a fashion of walking, but I just couldn't bring myself to go far and I just cried.

Jack and Jamie set me down on the side of the main cavern and let me get it out.

I'd ended the war, and at what cost? Hundreds of lives trapped in ice. That's what.

I was still feeling tired and I ended up crying myself to sleep.

I woke up within a few hours in my bed in the Sleeping quarters. Jack and Jamie were there, but I couldn't bring myself to talk to them. I'd gained enough strength to roll over and face the wall while muttering.

"I'm a monster."

Couple of points I'd like to make. I'm being so vague about Jack's age because different sources say different things.

William Joyce, the original writer who also worked on the Rise of the Guardians film, says that Jack is fourteen. However, the ROTG App claims that Jack is physically 17.

To add to this Jack, (according to height chart I found) is five foot nine. I knew people who were fourteen and six foot, that is easy for me to believe, just saying.

Personally I'm more willing to take William Joyce's word, since he's the original author, but I know there are people who haven't read the books and will call me out if I give a definite age, so that's why I haven't mentioned it in the story.

Finally, I'm English, yet Jackie is American. I fought with myself a lot on whether it should be 'mum' or 'mom'. I'm going to be completely honest, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone. I think 'mom' sounds stupid.

That's just me, 'mum' is just what I'm used to saying and I also hated it in cartoons when they say 'mom' because a lot of American cartoons got shown over here when I was young.

However, with this chapter, I finally decided to relent. I don't know if I can be bothered to look back over all the chapters and change it, but know that I am acknowledging this.

Phew, that's enough for one day. Shapeshifter out.
