"No!" Sara shrieked in agony. "I was not born just to die like this!"

Senna's stomach roiled. Sara's blood dripped down onto the ground below them. She faintly heard something clattering to the ground, but she didn't pay it any mind. Her vision was tunneling badly and everything around her blurring. She faintly saw Ichijo running forward to try and save Sara. Senna weakly pushed herself up to stand once again. "What is that thing?"

"It's the Associations parent weapon," Zero mumbled. He noticed something glinting on the ground and picked it up without thinking. He looked down as he heard a loud thud. "Oi!" He knelt down and scooped Senna up into his arms. She was deathly pale, paler than she usually was. Her lips were turning blue and her entire body was shaking. "What's wrong?" Zero felt something tugging at his gun holster and immediately whipped around. The parent weapon had wrapped itself around Bloody Rose. Zero moved Senna into one arm and tried to hold on to Bloody Rose with his free hand. He glared over at Ichijo as the vampire scooped up Sara's lifeless body that the parent had thrown to the ground. "What about Senna?"

Ichijo paused and looked back over his shoulder. "There's nothing I can do for her now. You have what you need to save her." He turned back around and walked away.

Senna blearily opened her eyes. She reached out a small trembling hand to Ichijo's back. "Don't leave me, Ichi-nichan. Please." Something was wrapping around her ankle. She looked down and managed to make out one of the tendrils of the parent weapon.

Zero grabbed Yuki and pulled her and Senna away from the tendrils. "It looks like it's not just after the weapons, but you Purebloods as well." They were wrapped in the tendrils now.

"Kaname-san…" Senna could barely make out Kaname's back. She swore there was a hooded figure standing behind him. Just as quickly as the figure appeared, it disappeared. The tendrils shattered.

"Kaname!" Yuki rushed towards Kaname. He looked back over at her and gave a sad smile before disappearing right as she reached him. "Kaname…"

A harsh cough tore from Senna. It hurt. It hurt her throat and her whole body. Senna's held lolled back. She didn't seem to have any more control over her limbs. She could hear Zero shouting her name and then Yuki's voice joining his. She wanted to say something, anything to the two of them. She could feel something wet splashing on her cheek. One of them was crying. It was probably Yuki. Senna took in a shuddering gasp. It was getting harder and harder to breath. So this is what dying feels like. It didn't hurt as bad as Senna had thought it would. She was starting to go numb.

"Senna, please hang on!" Yuki screamed. She held Senna's cold face between her hands. "You can't die, Senna! Don't leave me!"

Zero sat silently beside Yuki. He was turning around the words that Ichijo had said to him. Irritably, he shoved his hands into his pockets. His fingers grasped something cold. He quickly pulled out the thing he had picked up from the ground earlier. Now that he looked at it, he saw it was a small vial of some sort of liquid. It had fallen from Sara's pocket. "Yuki, get her mouth open!"

Yuki blinked away her tears. She looked at the vial in Zero's hand. "What is that?"

"It might be Senna's antidote. Sara had it. Just hurry up and open her mouth!" Zero popped the cap off the vial and held it at the ready.

Yuki quickly opened Senna's mouth. "Can we trust something that Sara had?"

"Do we have anything left to lose?" Zero put his fingers against Senna's throat. There was barely a pulse there. She was fading, and fast. When Yuki rapidly shook her head, Zero poured the vial of purple liquid into Senna's mouth. He closed her mouth and rubbed the front of her throat until he felt the little girl swallow.

Yuki pulled the limp little girl into her lap. She wrapped her arms around Senna's cold body. She rocked back and forth with Senna, stroking the child's hair. "Please open your eyes, Senna. Don't leave me. Wake up."

Senna felt her body slowly warming up. The numbness was going away and there was a fresh wave of pain coursing through her chest as she took in a shuddering breath. When she opened her eyes, her vision was still blurry. After blinking a few more times, her vision cleared and she saw Yuki's tear streaked face. "Yuki-nee…"

"Senna!" Yuki squeezed the little girl tightly to her. She quickly released her when she heard the small whimper of pain. "I'm sorry." She showered Senna's face with kisses.

"Am I dead?" Senna asked.

Zero crouched down and placed his hand on Senna's head. "No."

Senna scrunched her face up in confusion. "But…how am I alive?"

"Sara had your antidote." Yuki finally managed to get out.

"Why?" Senna managed to wiggle out of Yuki's grasp. She shakily stood up on her own two legs. She rubbed her eyes and looked around at the destroyed Association. "What happened?"

Yuki stood up, wiping her tears away. "It's a long story. I don't know why Sara had your antidote, but we'll have to figure that out later. Right now, we have to go after Kaname. You stay here, Senna."

"No way!" Senna protested. She was starting to feel stronger than she had in a while. "I want to help! What's Kaname doing now?"

Yuki looked at Zero whom just shrugged. Yuki let out a small sigh. "He said he's going to replace the parent. We need to finish this once and for all. I don't want to see vampires going on a rampage again."

"Hey, give me a hand." A voice grunted from behind the trio. Touga Yagari was holding up a large piece of rubble from completely crushing him.

"Touga-darling!" Senna gasped out. She quickly rushed over to him and pulled the rubble off of him. She knelt beside him and gently touched his arm. "Are you okay?"

Touga grunted and shifted the woman he was holding in his arms. "Help her. She's…" his eyes widened when he realized the woman he was holding was in fact a vampire.

Yuki gently took Seiren away from Touga. "Thank you for protecting her, Yagari-sensei."

The next few days were a complete and total blur for Senna. She spent most most of her time in bed despite her protest. Yuki wanted her to rest while preparations were made. Senna didn't get to see much of Zero over the next few days. Her main visitor was Aidou. He brought her all her meals and read to her at bedtime. "Aidou, what's Yuki-nee doing?"

Aidou hesitated. "She wants you to say here, Senna. She wants you to stay here where its safe. Won't you stay here with me and the others?"

"Nope." Senna jutted her lower lip out. "I want to help. I'm feeling better." She yelped as Aidou began pulling on her cheeks. "That hurts!"

"You're such a stubborn little brat," Aidou mumbled. He leaned down and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "You better stay safe."

Senna grinned up at Aidou. She stood up on the bed and kissed Aidou's forehead. "I will. You'll keep trying to find out why Sara had my antidote, right?"

"Leave it to me," Aidou said.

Senna quickly dressed and ran out to the front of the academy. Yuki and Zero were already there, staring each other down. "I'm coming too!"

Yuki whirled around and sighed. "Senna, no."

"Yes I am!" Senna stomped her foot. "I'm going to help you just like you've always helped me."

Before Yuki could respond to Senna, Kaito appeared before the group with a sword in his hand. "The Association didn't give you a command to go with her, Zero. Are you going to stay like she wants you to or are you going to follow her?" He lunged at Zero with his sword drawn. "This is Cross's sword. This sword, your Bloody Rose, and the weapon that woman carries are the only anti-vampire weapons."

Zero didn't say anything. He grabbed the sword with his bare hand and then punched Kaito in the face. "I'm going."

Kaito glared over at Yuki and Senna. "You realize that woman over there is a Pureblood, the same creature that turned both your brother and mine." Kaito was quiet for a moment as Zero hugged him. "Fine…this is payback then!" He punched Zero in the face and stood up. "You three, do something about Kuran Kaname."

Senna blinked as Kaito stormed off. She looked between Zero and Yuki. "What just happened?"

Zero sighed. "Never mind him. Let's go."

The trio took off on their quest to find Kaname. They had to travel during the day, so Yuki and Senna had to hide under an umbrella. Whenever they walked anywhere, Yuki walked ahead of Zero. Senna tended to walk in the space between the two, looking anxiously between the two. There was a tension there, but Senna couldn't quite place what it was. "You too are being weird."

Zero let out an annoyed sigh. He walked forward and rested a hand on Senna's head while he kept his eyes trained on Yuki's nervous face. "You're the one who said we'd chase him together. You can't go changing your mind now."

"Same to you," Yuki blurted out. "You hurt your hand with an anti-vampire weapon. Please don't act so recklessly if we are going to be working you together."

Senna rushed forward excitedly as they finally reached their destination; the Kuran household. She hopped anxiously from foot to foot, waiting for Yuki to unlock the door. "I'm going to go look in my room!" Senna shouted over her shoulder before bounding up the stairs and leaving Yuki and Zero alone.

Her room was just as she left it, though now there was a light layer of dust on all the furniture. Senna laid down on the floor and just stared up at the ceiling. There were so many questions she still had. Why had Sara had her antidote? Where was Kaname now? After all this was over, what was going to become of her? Where was Ichijo? Frustration welled up in Senna's chest and she had to blink back tears. Senna sat up and rushed out of her room. She didn't want to stay there anymore. When she went back down the stairs, Zero was sitting by the door alone. "Where's Yuki-nee?"

"She's looking around," Zero answered. He patted the spot next to him on the ground. As soon as Senna was sitting next to him, he put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her to his side. "You're looking better. Much less dead."

"I feel less dead." Senna giggled. She cuddled against Zero's side and yawned. "When this is all over, we should all live together."

"Who?" Zero mumbled, starting to doze off himself.

"You, me, Yuki-nee, Aidou…Shuuchi and Mikiri too. Touga-darling could live with us too, and Kaito even. We could all be a family." Senna whispered. Her eyes were already sliding shut.

Zero allowed a small smile to cross his face. "Yeah, sure. Sounds good." The two fell asleep leaning against each other.

Senna dreamt of Kaname. He was all alone. The air was freezing and no matter how much Senna shouted to Kaname, he didn't answer her. Whenever she tried to run towards him, he kept getting further and further away from her. She was jolted awake by the sensation of moving. When she opened her eyes, she found herself being held under Zero's arm while Yuki was underneath his other arm. It took her a moment to realize they were falling. "What's going on?"

"It'll be faster if we bypass all the roads," Zero answered. Yuki opened her mouth to protest, but Zero cut her off. "People that have had too much blood loss have no right to complain."

"Blood loss?" Senna peered around Zero to try and get a better look at Yuki. She didn't see any injuries. "Are you hurt, Yuki-nee?"

"She's been giving blood to counteract the blood tablets Sara had made," Zero explained. They finally landed at the bottom of the mountain. "So, where to now?"

Yuki busied herself with straightening Senna's hair so she didn't have to make eye contact with Zero. She finally straightened up and pointed ahead of them. "I need to ask Isaya-san for his cooperation. It should only be half a day's journey on the train in this town."

"We get to go on a train again?" Senna asked excitedly.

"Your clothes better stay on this time," Zero muttered.

They boarded the train without any problems. All the excitement Senna felt about being on a train again disappeared as the minutes slipped by in their room. Neither Zero or Yuki were saying anything. Zero was feigning sleep and Yuki was fiddling with her case of blood tablets. Senna let out a small sigh. She wished the two of them would just talk to each other. "Yuki-nee, I'm going to go explore," Senna said as she hopped down from her seat.

"Don't go too far," Yuki mumbled absently.

Senna slid the door open and quietly shut it behind her. "Teenagers are stupid," she muttered to herself. She skipped down the hallway, not having any particular destination in mind. She finally stopped at one of the large windows and looked at the scenery flying by. She rested her forehead against the cool glass. She stared at her reflection in her window. She had hoped after she began to recover that she would change back to the way she had been before. It seemed the antidote had only cured her sickness, but she was still a Pureblood. Letting out anther sigh, Senna made her way back to Yuki and Zero.

When she entered the room, Yuki was curled up on the seat sleeping. Zero was sleeping as well, his head resting against the window. Senna climbed into the seat beside Zero and snuggled under his arm. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep as well.

It wasn't long before Zero was shaking her awake. They had finally arrived. Senna and Yuki walked together under an umbrella. They were greeted by a woman wearing a hooded cloak. The woman held her hands out to them, a piece of paper in her hand. "I am Isaya-sama's messenger. I've brought you an invitation. This evening, Purebloods and noble allies are invited to attend a masquerade ball."

Senna shuddered. She had never had much luck at balls. The messenger led them to Isaya's abode where he explained his plan. It was a trap to try and lure Kaname out into the open. "Everything has been arranged. I have clothes for the three of you to wear."

"If it's all right," Yuki spoke up, "I'd like for Senna to not attend. I'm serious, Senna," she said before the child could protest. "This is too dangerous and you're still recovering. I don't want to risk you getting hurt."

Senna huffed, but reluctantly complied. At least she wouldn't have to talk to any of the strangers that were beginning to arrive for the dance. Senna was shown to a large room and left there by herself. The room had a king size bed against one wall, as well as an oak dresser and vanity. Senna made her way over to the three large bookshelves against the wall opposite the bed. Finding nothing of interest to read, Senna made her way out onto the balcony.

She could hear the party in full swing below her. There was a cool night breeze that ruffled Senna's dark hair. She idly wondered where Ichijo was and if he was all right. He hoped that someday he would come back. A loud sigh escaped her lips.

"That's very unladylike, Senna."

Senna whirled around to find Kaname blocking the door back into the room. "Kaname…"

Kaname fixed Senna with a sad smile. "I'm glad to see you still alive." He held up a hand when Senna took a step towards him.

"Please stop, Kaname," Senna begged. "Come home. Yuki-nee misses you. I miss you. We could be a family again."

Kaname shook his head. "No. It's too late for that. Be a good girl and look after Yuki for me."

"Kaname…" He disappeared before Senna could say anything else. "I hate grownups," Senna ground out as she bolted from the balcony, through the room, and out into the hallway. She had to find Kaname before he did something stupid. She wasn't sure where to look until she saw two familiar figures standing in front of Isaya's study. "Senri-nichan! Rima-neechan!"

Senri braced himself for the child barreling towards him. He caught her up in his arms and held her close. He rubbed his cheek against hers.

"Hey, you two get out of the way!" Zero shouted as he and Yuki rushed towards them.

Rima sighed. "They're busy right now. You can't go in."

Senna was shocked when Yuki actually tackled Rima and broke the door down. Senri held Senna out in front of him when Zero started coming towards him. "Don't use me as a shield, Senri-nichan!"

"We're done here." Kaname appeared beside Senri and Senna. He grabbed Senri's arm, causing the vampire to drop Senna unceremoniously to the ground. He spun around and grabbed Rima as well before disappearing through the window. Neither Yuki nor Zero could do anything.

"It's going to be hard to catch Kaname." Senna mumbled.

Yuki nodded absently. "Senna, why don't you go take a shower. We'll all get cleaned up and head on."

Senna looked curiously up at Yuki. Something was wrong, she just couldn't tell what it was. She finally made her way back to the room she'd come from. She took a quick shower and redressed. Having nothing else to do, she sat on the bed and swung her legs over the side. She waited patiently for Zero and Yuki to show up so they could continue their search. It was taking longer than she thought it should, and a knot of worry settled in the pit of stomach. Just as she was about to get up and go look for the two, the door to her room burst open. "Yuki-nee, what took…"

Yuki stood in the doorway for a moment, her head bowed low. She shut the door behind her before walking over to the bed to sit beside Senna. Yuki pulled the little girl into her arms and hugged her tightly.

"Yuki-nee?" Senna instinctively hugged Yuki back. "What's wrong?" She felt something wet land on the top of her head. When she looked up, she realized Yuki was crying. "Yuki-nee, what happened? Where's Zero-ni?"

"I had to do it, Senna," Yuki sobbed out. "He was suffering so much."

Senna looked desperately up at Yuki. "What'd you do to Zero-ni?"

"I erased his memories of me," Yuki choked out. "I didn't want him to suffer from thirst anymore because of me. Senna, I did the right thing, right? Is it okay if I hug you for just a little longer?"

Senna didn't say anything. She just squeezed her arms as tight around Yuki as she could. She knew that Zero wouldn't have wanted Yuki to do that. Tears pricked at the corner of her own eyes. The people she loved were all still suffering, still in pain. "You grownups are all really stupid…"
