Tris POV
It has only been two days since they have spoken to me since then I have received no rations. Instead, I was given a timer.
Currently, the clock reads , and so I start to think what will happen, how will I escape, what do they mean by fly, and where will I go?
Before I know it, the clock starts screaming loudly and a cheer is heard from the other side of the door.
"TODAY IS THE DAY BIRDIE! TIME TO FLY!"
Instantly, a wave of light crashes over me and my body succumbs to the sensation. All I can see is white light, but I feel nails dig into my side.
I try to scream and trash, but all that makes out is a faint, hoarse breath and weak gestures. A laugh trembles in my ears de to my pitiful attempts to flee. Leading me out of the room, he clutches tightly onto my side and chest. His breath smells of tobacco, but his clothes smell of sweat and dirt.
Once set down, my body adjusts to its surrounding space as my mind begins to strategize. The only issue to my plans is that I am soon strapped down to a cool, metal table. My noise picks up an alcoholic smell as well as a cleaning solution smell. Finally, my eyes are the last to adjust the surrounding space, but the sight is not in my favor.
Around me I see white lights, plastic wrap, mirrors, and a table murderous items, but worst of all in the corner I see him. His greasy, black hair mopped across his face while a snake grin appears. He wears a white lab coat and holds a syringe containing a black substance.
Struggling , I muster one word, "Why?"
"Don't you see Beatrice? This was all apart of the game from the first day you met me. Your mother said no to my little experiment, but I knew that wasn't an acceptable answer. You see, your father used to work with me before he said that I went to far. His heart was dead set on testing the mind and being able to cure what plagued your mother. What you did not know is that she had only four more years to live, but I wasn't in it to save her. No, that was just your father. With these answers about the mind, I will be able to do a lot more than science ever has done. I will start a new era." He laughs a deep chuckle as he come closer. He then wipes my neck and tilts my head to the side.
"I do admit, I might had went too far that day with your mother, but that was just collateral damage. You're the more important piece to the puzzle, and it's fine time to get my answers. After all, watching you for many years seemed bore some, but I do admit my son joining your life was amusing."
My face widens at his statement. Son? There is only one person I know who no longer sees his father...please no.
"Although I will never receive a thank you, I'm doing that little brat a favor. But don't worry, I will send Tobias your regards after I'm done with you."
Tears flow down my cheeks, and I look away from this horror.
"Just a warning, most do not survive this test so you best get your last words out now." He presses the syringe to my neck, and with all my might I speak.
"You can kill my mother, steal me from my friends, and beat the only chance I have at true love, but you will never stop me from fighting for something."
His laugh echoes as he presses the string down and releases the plunger, "Good luck fighting. I doubt you can even fly away from your fears little birdie".
*I promised to finish this, and I don't break promises. Even though my life has changed, I will do my best to finish this. I'm sorry for everything. I deserve the hate mail I have received, and I'm sure there is more to come. Thanks for reading, and again I'm sorry.
