Friday leapt upon me, sooner than expected. Adjusting to a new school was making my head spin, and I'd almost forgot about it, because Robbie had been avoiding me ever since he asked me out on Tuesday.

At lunch, Beck, Jade and I were sitting together enjoying the fresh air and conversation, when Robbie finally approached me.

"Hey Becca," he said timidly. Surprisingly Rex wasn't on his hand. From all the stories I had heard, this was a very rare occurance.

"Hi Robbie," I replied, followed with a smile.

"Can I talk to you," he gestured for me to get up. "Over here?"

"Okay," I said excusing myself from the table.

Once I was next to him, he started to walk away, with the intention for me to follow. When we were out of earshot of Jade and Beck, he spoke. "I was just wondering, are we still on for tonight?"

"Of course we are," I replied. "Did you think we weren't?"

"I don't know, I mean, I've never actually been on a date before, I thought you might stand me up."

"Don't be silly, I would never do that," I said placing my hand on his left forearm. He stared at my hand for a few seconds before responding.

"Okay, I just wanted to check. I can pick you up at 7?"

"Sounds great. How about we just see whichever movie is the first one to start?"

"Sure," he said and started to walk away. He was so awkward.

When I got back to the table Jade started staring at me.

"You know Oliver," Jade started. "You must be a saint or insane to want to go out with Robbie."

"Stop," I replied. "He's adorable."
