Octodad was conflicted. On one hand, it was a free meal of sushi without octopus. On the other hand, it was a free meal of sushi provided by Chef Fujimoto, the same chef that previous tried to expose and/or cook him. Still, he would go. After all, it's not like Fujimoto would try to serve him to his family now that his family is in the know.
Yes, Octodad was, spoilers, actually an octopus. One who wore a business suit to pass himself off as a human, but an octopus nevertheless.
Still, it was good to know that after Fujimoto and him made up, Fujimoto also stopped trying to kill him. That did not mean the chef had stopped preparing for an invasion from the sea. In fact, Fujimoto not chasing down Octodad has resulted in more free that that he could pursue in preparing for the war.
That just happens to be why Fujimoto invited Octodad and his family to the restaurant, currently empty of other customers. "Ah, Octodad, you came. Does it not feel strange that you are essentially eating your comrades."
Octodad attempts to pick up a sushi with his hand. *Blurps about not knowing everyone.*
"We try not to bring up old memories." His daughter Stacy told Fujimoto.
Fujimoto nodded. "Ah, true. Which is why after today, I will be working in the cafeteria of a school in Japan known as Honnouji Academy."
Scarlet, being the news reporter she was, perked up. "Ah, I've heard about that school. Founded by the Kiryuin Conglomerate, known for their clothing line."
"Yes, their clothing line." Fujimoto looked around and leaned close to her. "To tell you the truth, I fear they are the cause of the underwater rebellion."
Octodad blinks. *Blurps questioningly about his conspiracy idea.*
"Oh, it is no conspiracy. Aliens had landed on our planet many years ago. These aliens implanted themselves onto fish, which became landcrawlers, then apes, and then into humans. In fact, these aliens take on the form of clothes, and until now, every clothing worn by humans is just an imitation. Kiryuin must be protecting those aliens, and I believe that after she wakes those aliens up, she would have half of the aliens blow up the world while the other half are given to the fish so that they can take over the surface!"
Octodad's son, Tommy, stopped stabbing his sushi and blinked. "Okay, how are fish supposed to populate the world if the world is blown up?"
"Well, in case they fail to blow up the planet, they would still blow up the humans." Fujimoto was even uncertain of what he said. "But no matter! For the sake of humanity, I will stop the denizens of the ocean from invading the land, and I will do so by stopping their supplies of clothings!"
"I...see." Scarlet turned to Octodad. "Are there any openings there?"
*Octodad blurps, wondering what Scarlet is thinking.*
"Ah, I think there is a teaching position or two. Probably English or Japanese, if I remember."
*Octodad blurps frantically, point out language barriers.*
"Honey, your accent is fine. It's time you got yourself a job." Scarlett held Octodad's hands as the octopus deflated. "Don't worry, we'll still visit whenever we can. Besides, Fujimoto could have a friend by his side."
Octodad pondered on it. *Blurps positively.*
"Octopus? You will come? Great, hop into this suitcase!" Chef Fujimoto held up a briefcase that Octodad and his family look at questionably. He tosses the suitcase behind him. "Alright, I understand you want to go through the airport as a human. I will just go ahead and make a recommendation."
