The owls have already flown to each of the chosen wizards and witches' houses to send the invitations. Each invitation had a wax stamp and was magically typed onto parchment. And they were given to Harry Potter; Hermione Granger; Ronald Weasley (which letter was first stolen by Fred and George, who 'accidentally' burned it so McGonagall had to resend it); Luna Lovegood; Neville Longbottom (whose Grandmother saw first and accidentally dropped it in a bowl of soup); Draco Malfoy, who showed it to his parents and were really proud; Cho Chang; and Cedric Diggory, whose father was also proud.
The incredibly short letter said the following:
"Dear *name*,
You have been invited to be a part of the Wizard team for a new Multi-Wizard Cup. Your teammates will be the following people:
Harry James Potter
Ronald Bilius Weasley
Hermione Jean Granger
Luna Lovegood
Neville Longbottom
Draco Malfoy
Cho Chang and
Cedric Diggory
You are advised to show up at the Hogwarts Great Hall at July 27th for a meeting.
