((Alright, here's a snippet for a Gurren Lagann crossover. Go crazy.))

Lordgenome looked down at his daughter. His pride and joy, the only other human allowed to walk on the surface of the earth. But how was she alive when she was dead? How was he alive?

"Lordgenome?" Nia asked. "Is something the matter?"

"A dream..." Lordgenome decided that that dream would not become a reality. "I dreamed of a great victory, but at the cost of one man's happiness and the death of another. Our greatest enemies will be gone, but must love suffer for it?"

"I think...that there is a way to win and save those two." Nia answered. Lordgenome did not smile, but he appreciated the answer. "I think...you care so much if that dream bothers you."

"Come." Lordgenome took Nia to a laboratory. Sure, Nia did not see much of the experiments here, but even then, she knew that Lordgenome brought her to a place even his generals have not seen. "Long ago, I fought the Anti-Spirals. They were the enemies of those who evolved, humans in our case. We did not win, but were were spared because they have brought millions of people into a few hundred. That is why I forced humans underground; so that they would not reach a popultion that summons the Anti-Spirals back."

Lordgenome pulled out a red thread. "The Anti-Spirals attacked humans because they evolve, and they evolve because of a parasite known as Life Fibers. From my experiments, I knew that this seemingly thin fiber can become an impenetrable armor, that if it can evolve monkeys into humans, it can also create Beastmen. And yet, according to what the Anti-Spirals say, when these Life Fibers have evolved humanity to a pinnacle, they will consume their hosts and blow up this planet, spreading themselves all over the galaxy. Then the Life Fibers will repeat this process on many worlds."

Nia realized the implications. "So if humans can populate the surface, then they would be destroyed or consumed. Then the reason the humans had to suffer was never about Beastmen supremacy, it was a war between two alien races."

"And the Beastmen serve to limit the population and to fight against outside threats." Lordgenome admitted. "Granted, some of the Beastmen are unnecessarily cruel, but if I show even a bit of mercy to our humans, I might as well call our destroyers over."

Nia knew that Lordgenome wanted to protect the humans, even if he had to look like the villain. "But this cannot go on forever, Lordgenome. If the humans aren't supposed to die, let them live."

Lordgenome looked at her. "In my dream, I died twice. First, to a boy who never gave up. I then helped that boy, no, that man against the Anti-Spiral. I continue as I do, and one day, humanity can rule the earth as they should."

He then pulled out a hidden drawer, and inside, Nia saw the most beautiful dress ever made. "Is this..."

"Life Fibers, woven into a suit of great power." Lordgenome stroked the dress. "I hoped that you will steel your heart and gain much wisdom, in which this God Robe would then become your armor when you take throne. However, perhaps it is your compassion for all life that we need. And so I ask, will you preserve your innocence, or will you be willing to spill blood for a better future?"

Lordgenome did not look as Nia's clothes fell to the ground. "For humanity's sake, I will don the God Robes and become their guardian angel. I will defeat both the Life Fibers and the Anti-Spirals. On my blood, I swear."

"And by your blood, will you complete your pact." Lordgenome handed Nia the God Robe, giving her a few seconds to dress up. He then took a knife and stabbed her in the heart, ignoring the look of betrayal in her eyes. "I'm sorry, but until you can stand in front of me again, ready to plunge a sword into my darkened heart, I will continue my path even if it leads me to my grave."

Nia fell to the ground, tears in her eyes as she lost consciousness. Lordgenome immediately arranged for her body to be carried in a casket and buried in one of the graves that the humans dug.

Of course, a certain pair of diggers was going to rob a tomb, and they would find a very alive girl waiting inside.

((Lordgenome knew that he was in too deep to change his schemes, and several Beastmen already hated Nia for simply existing. He also knew that Nia was not someone who could kill, so he showed how far he was willing to go to protect the humans his way. It pained him so much, but he knew she would survive, and perhaps this little change could ironically allow her to live. It was only a matter of time before the heavens was pierced and those two would bring him down. He just hoped the scar in his heart was worth it.))
