Luke
Luke kissed Silena's sweaty forehead as he picked her up and carefully laid her down on the floor of his car's trunk. With her tanned skin and brown hair and with only a white bed sheet to cover her body, she sure looked breathtaking... even more beautiful than Veronica Chase.
Luke shut the trunk's flap and pulled his car keys out of his pocket. As he unlocked the door he, heard a groan coming from his trunk. He rolled his eyes and settled inside his car. His white shirt was cold from being on the floor last night.
Silena groaned again more loudly. Luke sighed. He had hoped that she wouldn't wake up till he reached the portal. But now he would have to sedate her again.
He grabbed the emergency stash from the glove compartment and slowly crawled to the back of the car with a syringe in his hand.
He saw a manicured hand grip the back of the seat as Silena pushed against it to sit up. With blood shot eyes she looked around. Luke quickly hid the syringe behind his back and placed his free hand on her shoulder.
Silena jumped at the contact but when she saw that it was Luke with a look of concern on his beautiful face, she relaxed like a deflated balloon.
"What am I doing here?"
She asked as her soft brown eyes drank him in. Luke had forgot to comb his hair but he knew she liked it that way. She even loved his wrinkled clothes, his crooked smile, his blue eyes, his handsome face, his toned body... and everything else. He knew that he had her under his thumb.
He smiled at her as he moved his hand from her shoulder to her cheek. Silena closed her eyes and leaned against his hand.
"I thought I should drop you off. I was afraid to let you drive on your own after what happened to Beckendorf."
Silena sighed as her whole body squirmed with pain.
"Yeah... the car crash."
Luke mentally snorted.
All for you, my beautiful. All those sins for you.
Luke hooked his index finger under her chin and pulled her towards him. Her hands freed themselves from their grip on the bed sheet as they came up to clutch Luke's shirt as he kissed her. His tongue already inside her mouth.
Silena tried to shift but winced, she was still very sore from last night. Charlie had always been soft and careful with her but Luke had taken her without any mercy... honestly he could have cared less for her comfort. Silena moaned as he groped at her. Luke grinned at that. Only if she knew that she had slept with her love's killer, only if she had known that...
Luke sucked her gasp into his kiss as he plunged the syringe down on Silena's soft back. As she grew limp on him he pushed her body off his. She hit the back of the car as she slowly slid back on the floor, her bed sheet pooled around her stomach.
Luke remembered how Silena had expressed her plans for their future last night between moans and cries. He had stayed quiet that time but now he told her what he thought of her plans.
"Shove your plans up your ass bitch. No one's replacing my Annabeth and when I find her..."
A maniacal smile marred his face as he finished his thought aloud,
"We'll rule the world together."
Percy
Percy leaped on another old maple tree as he watched the patrolling guards from above. His breathing was slow and his heart was in control. This was how he liked it. Him knowing where the royal guards were and them not knowing anything about his presence.
Last time they had seen him had ended up in his marriage.
The guards looked bored. They patrolled that clearing again and again and with each round their alertness fell a notch. It wasn't like Percy was going to attack four guards all by himself. But it would give him an idea about when they'll give up.
A brilliant white horse neighed as it sped towards the guards.
"Stand back! Rifles ready! Remember to shoot on sight!"
Percy's grip tightened on the branch. They were talking about killing him and Annabeth on sight.
The horse neared the clearing with a blonde man astride. Recognition filled the guards, their grips on their rifles slackened.
"Rifles down!"
The horse skidded to a halt. The young noble mad jumped to his feat and pushed his purple cape behind his back. His baby blue eyes glittered dangerously as he addressed the guards.
"Have you seen any noble lady with grey eyes around here?"
The guards bowed their heads and knelt to the ground.
"Lord Jasper of Winter." they murmured in unison.
Jasper nodded impatiently and continued on his quest,
"She seems to have escaped an asylum."
The head guard shook his head as the four of them hit their feet hard on the ground to stand in attention.
"No my lord but yesterday we saw a possible noble lady on run with a commoner,"
The guard spat the last word out like it burned his mouth... like he would have rather preferred to call them pests or maggots.
Jasper rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "Maybe the Lady had help breaking out of the asylum."
"Maybe, my lord."
"Well then let us search. She is not in good mental health. Do not shoot if you see them. It the lady dies her father would have your heads on a platter for sure."
The short guard who seemed like he was fifteen gulped. Percy could tell that he wasn't going to shoot anybody anytime soon.
"Let us spread out and search."
"By my lord-"
Jasper cut the head guard with a sharp look.
Percy studied the man carefully. He had closely cropped blonde hair and hazel eyes and was quite a feet shorter than Jasper. A definite mixed blood…. that too a first generation one. Percy could tell as he was a mixed blood too.
"Do you deem me incapable of this search party officer?"
Percy snorted. Of course the mixed bloods were officers. The commoners who enlisted were mostly sent off to frontiers for being killed.
The guard gulped. Percy could tell by all his fidgeting that he was choosing his next words painstakingly carefully.
"No my lord. Just the opposite. I think this job is beneath you."
Jasper stroked his horse's main. The horse leaned into his touch and neighed contently. Jasper smiled.
"That is for me to decide."
The guard nodded grimly, keeping his mouth shut.
Wise choice.
"Let us spread out and meet near restricted land boundary at noon!"
As soon as the words left Jasper's mouth the other three guards jumped their horses and rode away in different directions.
Jasper took a three-sixty on his heels and spun around to take a good look at his surrounding.
Percy quickly slipped down a branch.
Jasper took hold of his horse's rein, his back turned to Percy.
He slid another branch and crouched. His lips curled up as he locked into Jasper's position.
Perfect.
He lunged at Jasper, grabbing his head.
Jasper realized his attacker just a little late. Yet he wriggled out and swung his fist at Percy's face who shied away and kicked Jasper's side. Jasper inhaled sharply and reached for his sword. Percy quickly kicked his wrist, sending the sword flying.
The sword flipped over their heads and started to drop down. Percy glanced at Jasper, who glanced back. Then they both simultaneously jumped for it.
Percy fell on top of Jasper, the sword an inch away from their outstretched hands. They kicked and clawed at each other. Jasper had lost his cape somewhere in between as he tried to claw Percy's eyes out. Percy struggled back. He leaned back, out of reach, reach as jasper lifted his arm to strike him. Percy smiled inwardly.
An opening.
With lightening speed he punched Jasper's face. Jasper rolled to his side, wallowing with pain. Percy jumped off and grabbed the sword.
It was golden and the weight felt all wrong but Percy held on to it. He removed the sheath with a sharp screech.
Jasper sat up on his knees, he eyes glaring murderously at Percy.
Percy's chin went up as he strolled over to the noble man and pressed the sharp blade against his neck.
"I won again."
Jasper rolled his eyes as he swatted the sword away.
"A pointless brawl in the middle of the jungle. Did you wait and think for a moment how you would have been lying dead at my feet if one of those guards had decided to come looking for me?"
Percy shrugged as he threw the sword at Jasper.
Jasper caught it by it's hilt and made to re-strap it around his waist.
When he was done he finally stood straight and face Percy. He stared at him with his light blue eyes.
"Percy."
The said Percy let out the ghost of a smile.
"Jason."
Jason smiled all the way, wincing as his bruised cheek lifted up.
"Thanks for the black eye cousin."
"I'm sure my bruises would show eventually-" Percy stopped as a thought crossed his mind, his eyes widened,
"Annabeth would have a fright."
Jason smiled smugly as he strolled over to where his horse was tied. The horse had beaten at the ground and neighed all along while Percy and Jason had kicked and thrashed around. He patted the seething horse who looked like it was ready to charge at Percy.
"You would know. Where are you holding up?"
Percy blew out a breath as he stretched his hands. His whole body was aching from the effort it took to fight Jason.
"The widow's compound."
Jasper lifted an eyebrow, "After what had happened three years ago, I thought they would kill any man at sight."
It was Percy's turn to raise an eye brow.
"What had happened exactly?"
Jason shook his head sadly, "One of our old man's generals had pretended to be injured and begged for shelter for him and his rank. Those guards had torn the place apart and tortured those widows all night before leaving like heroes next morning."
Percy's jaw hardened. Jason came over and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Then they build a giant wall… took them a complete year… So how did they let you in."
Percy looked away,
"They made me to marry Annabeth."
There was a long silence.
"Made you do it?"
Jason laughed.
Percy glared at him, waiting for him to calm down,
After Jason had tamed down he looked back at Percy,
"So…. How was your wedding night?"
Percy immediately went pink. He picked up a rock and threw it at Jason. Jason dodged easily. He doubled over with laughter, clutching his stomach and ignoring his burning cheek.
Percy flushed deeper. He folded his hands close to his chest and glared at Jason.
"Amusing, ain't I cousin?"
Jason Looked over at Percy and tried to sober up. After an eternity he stopped cackling and simply grinned at him.
Percy softened up. It was nice to see Jason at all, so he would say that seeing him laughing and acting all joyful was absolutely wonderful.
"I don't think you came down here to find the missing mad girl?"
Jason shook his head.
"I knew it was Annabeth of course and I knew you were the one to break her out of that asylum."
Percy cut him another glare,
"Nice place to keep her bu the way. All warm and cozy."
"It was better than where Khione wanted to send her."
All the smile vanished from his face on the mention of his wife. Percy regretted bringing up the subject. Of all of them Jason was the one who had had to give everything he loved up…. Just because he looked just like a full fledged noble man. Tough he was also a mixed blood….. just like Thalia, Hazel, Nico, Bianca and Percy himself.
"About that…"
Percy told him what Annabeth had said earlier. He told him everything, about Annabeth finding her sister dead in the Freezing palace, about her leap through time and also about her finding other bleeding people in the cellar where her sister had been, some of them dressed like people from her time.
"He is messing with their heads. Do you think he is trying to produce some sort of an army that will absolutely follow his command or something?"
Jason thought for a while.
"Maybe."
Percy perked up.
"That would mean there is something wrong with the one he already has."
Jason nodded.
"You have to find out what it is."
Jason's face grew sever.
"I might have something."
He sat down on the ground and patted the space beside him. Percy dropped down, folding his legs underneath him.
"There is this man Khione sometimes disappears with…. He dresses just like those people you were talking about. In some soft white and blue or black fabric like jeans or cotton. He could pass for a noble with his blonde hair, blue eyes and everything."
Percy scooted closer, "And what do they do?"
Jason raised his eyebrow, "Apart from the obvious? They go and meet grandfather and spend a few day there. Then Khione comes back all alone and acts like the witch she is, pretending like everything in the world is under her paws as usual."
Percy tensed,
"You have to dig more."
Jason gave him a look,
"I know. But first I have to get you to Chiron. They have relocated."
"Of course they have, after that stupid party-"
"Reyna has taken up the second squadron. Thalia told me that she is trying to draw a wedge between the squads."
Percy's eyes narrowed, "You think she has changed sides?"
Jason shook his head, "No. She calls herself you wife but is actually trying to destroy your home. Did something-"
"Aphrodisiac."
Jason cringed.
"I'll handle her. When are you sending me home?"
Jason touched his stinging cheek, "Two days from now there is a festival in the vineyard some twenty miles from here, Thalia and Nico would be waiting."
Percy nodded and hesitated, wondering if he should say it.
"Congratulations Jason. I heard the great news while sneaking into the asylum."
Jason stiffened, but then relaxed, a sad smile hovered over his face. Percy watched him carefully. He didn't want to upset Jason, didn't want his baby cousin to break under pressure but he wasn't sure if this particular news was a good one or bad one for Jason.
Finally Jason spoke,
"Yeah…. My upcoming child."
"Are you sure it's yours?"
Jason nodded.
Percy didn't ask how he was so sure . Jason might have flaunted affairs about and criticized Khione by all means but they both knew that she was absolutely obsessed with Jason and only him. She had been quick to marry Jasper, the orphaned noble boy, and turn him into a duke. It had been their plan but Percy knew that Jason had secretly wished it to be a bit different… that he had wished to be with someone else.
Percy stood up,
"Farewell cousin."
Jason looked up at him and smiled,
"Until we meet again."
Annabeth
"No man can be trusted."
That was the fifth time Martha had said that to Annabeth.
She had woken up in the morning…. alone. And since then she had been looking around for him. She refused to believe that he had left her.
She had covered quite the ground. She seen the chapel again, the little huts where the widows lived and the big well which supplied water. They had a big godown where the vegetables and other groceries were kept. Martha herself was the head of the spinning club which produced all their clothes. The rest of the area were farm lands for agricultural purposes. It was a quite good settlement but Annabeth's mind was too wrapped up to process it all.
This was going to be just like Luke but worse…. She wasn't married to Luke.
Annabeth hurried after Martha, a couple of other widows were also searching.
The western boundary loomed over just behind the tea plantation.
"You check that boundary. I'll check the tea gardens."
Annabeth nodded as they parted ways.
"Percy!"
She screamed, "Percy are you there?!"
No one answered. Annabeth's lips trembled. She would have started crying any second.
From the tree bending into the boundary from outside a figure jumped.
Annabeth screamed and backed away.
A very dirty and bruised Percy stood up from his crouch. He tried to pat the dust off his clothes but failed terribly.
Annabeth marched up to him. Her open palm connecting with his face…. hard.
Percy stared at her, with a dumb look on his face, Annabeth glared back.
After that, like two magnets of opposite poles, they pulled each other in.
Percy's hand went around Annabeth's thin waist, pinning her against his chest. Annabeth weaved her fingers behind his neck, her face burying into the crook of it. Percy placed his chin over her shoulder and whispered into her ear,
"I am sorry. Please do not cry."
"I'm not!"
Percy's hold tightened and Annabeth closed her eyes.
She heard Martha's distant footsteps as she yelled.
"There is that insolent creature. I say we lock him up!"
Annabeth planned on doing the same thing but right now she was just glad that he was safe and….. was with her.
She had been wrong. Percy was nothing like Luke, and anyway, she wasn't going to see Luke ever again.
Leo
Leo straddled the seat of his time machine. All the repairs were finally over. He checked all the programming he had added and for the sake of drama strapped his seat belt.
He grinned as he pushed the levers.
Excitement fueled his nerves. He couldn't believe it. He was finally doing this. He was finally going into the future. His new programming would take him exactly to that place where Annabeth had ended up. This time he would do everything right.
He grinned wider.
He would save the damsel in distress.
He punched the black button then typed in the code and pushed the gear with his feet. There was an aweful lot of jerking. Leo regretted not installing some shock absorber. And then he vanished.
Hey guys. We meet again. Please tell me what you thought of this chapter. I'll be wrapping this story up in six more chapters and an epilogue! Have a nice day!
