A/N: Hey guys, thank you so much for the reviews. It's been getting harder and harder to find time to update lately because I've had so much stuff going on. But I finally found time to type up the next chapter. Warning: you will probably be pretty annoyed by the end of the chapter. I was annoyed by the end of this chapter lol. But I love drama so yeah...

"This is a bad idea", Nick murmured as they drove up to the giant house that Miley used to call home. She honestly didn't think she'd ever be back here. At least, she had hoped she wouldn't. And yet, there they were.

"We have to do it", Miley said stiffly, opening her car door. She knew that Jake had Belle. Who else would possibly have her?

"I still think we need to let the police handle this, Miley", he pressed.

She stood up regardless. "The police would be a waste of time. I want Belle home tonight. There is no way I am going to let her spend one more second with Jake. She's probably scared out of her mind!"

Nick drew in a deep breath, and reluctantly followed her up to the doorstep. Miley didn't ring the doorbell. She pounded on the door with more rage than he had ever seen from her. In fact, he didn't know if he had ever seen Miley truly angry until this moment. After a few minutes, Jake finally opened the door.

He appeared surprised to see them, but Miley never knew real from fake where he was concerned. "Where is she?", she demanded in a low, deadly tone.

Jake crossed his arms, and leaned against the doorway. "What are you talking about?"

"You know damn well what I'm talking about, you son of a bitch! You have two seconds to tell me where she is, or so help me..."

Nick restrained her from going after him. That was exactly what Jake would want. Miley getting arrested for assault. He held his arms around her, trying to calm her down. "Miley, he's not worth it. Listen to me. Going after him is not going to get Belle back. Think about Belle."

Miley took a deep breath, knowing that he was right. She had to think about Belle first. And reluctantly, Nick let go of her.

The expression on Jake's face was unreadable. Shocked, almost. "You lost my daughter!", he finally shouted angrily.

"Are you kidding me?", Nick jumped in to defend Miley. "You kidnapped her!"

"What? No I didn't! I haven't even gotten to see her in months!"

Now, Nick was the one growing angry. Jake was a good actor. He would give him that. But there was no way that he wasn't behind this. And now, he was acting like someone who actually gave a damn about Belle. Completely fake.

"You never wanted to see Belle!", he yelled. "The only concern you have is trying to steal Miley from me! But guess what? We do care about her. So, I'm going to ask you one time. Give her back to us. And maybe...just maybe...you won't die for this."

Jake looked at Miley with a pleading expression. "Miley, you have to believe me! I had nothing to do with this!"

She didn't respond. Because quite frankly, she was stunned. She was expecting him to deny that he had Belle. Or to "negotiate" a way for Miley to get her back. She certainly wasn't expecting him to act like he cared. Her head was throbbing, and she was more confused than ever. Could he actually be telling the truth? Or was he a better actor than she ever gave him credit for?

"You're the only one who would have a motive to take her", Miley reasoned, more to herself than him. "She has to be here!"

"But she's not. You can look around if you want", Jake offered, moving out of the doorway.

Nick raked his fingers through his hair, and turned to Miley. "She's not here. He's got her moved somewhere."

"I don't have her anywhere!", Jake insisted.

"You are lying through your teeth", Nick said, pointing at him in an accusatory fashion.

Miley didn't know what to believe. She wanted to believe that Jake was lying. And her head told her he was. Then again, he seemed very sincere. But Jake was never sincere about anything. He was lying. He had to be.

"Please just give me my baby back. Please. I'll do whatever you want", she said desperately.

"Miley, I don't have her", Jake said slowly. "You are wasting your time accusing me of this. She could be out there in serious trouble. I can help you find her."

Nick could easily tell that he was attempting to play them. But Miley seemed a little more uncertain. And that worried him.

"Come on, Miley. This was a waste of time. We should've gone to the police first." He turned to Jake. "And as for you, you're going to regret this. I promise."

Miley locked eyes with Jake before turning to leave with Nick. As they got back in the car, Nick gently squeezed her hand. "It's going to be okay."

She nodded slowly, praying that he was right.

"Wait, Belle's missing?", Lilly uttered in horror. "Oh my God!"

Macy just nodded. She had taken Myles home, and Nick had asked her to explain what was going on to Lilly and Joe. Of course, she had a feeling that she knew more about the situation than he did.

Joe put his arm around his wife in an attempt to calm her. "I don't understand how a child can just get taken from a school. Surely, someone had to have seen something."

"The thing is the kidnapper was more than likely wearing the same costume as Nick. This was planned", she said quietly. "Nick and Miley think it's her ex."

"It would have to be", Lilly agreed. "God, I hope Belle's okay. But maybe this will finally get Jake put behind bars and away from our family."

Jake. Well, now Macy had a first name to work with. She had been working for this creep, and didn't even know what his name was.

Joe sighed. "I guess I should go check on Myles", he said, looking back at the staircase. "He's probably worried sick about Belle."

Lilly nodded. "She's been like a sister to him."

As he slowly walked away, Macy shifted uncomfortably. God, if anything happened to that little girl, it was going to be on her hands. She wished she could just tell them everything that she knew. But that wasn't an option right now. But maybe finding out more about this guy would put her mind at ease a bit.

"I can't believe this is happening", Lilly sighed, sitting down on the couch. "Miley must be a mess right now."

Macy sat down next to her. "I can't even imagine what she must be going through. So, her ex...is he dangerous? I mean, you don't think he'll hurt Belle, do you?"

"I don't know. I don't think he has before. At least not physically like he did with Miley."

Her eyes widened in horror. "He...he hurt Miley?"

"He hit her", Lilly confirmed. "This went on for years. None of us ever knew anything about it until a few months ago. Something always seemed kind of off with Jake to me. I mean, he and Miley dated on and off for years when we were in high school. I just never would've thought that she would be in danger with him, you know?"

"You couldn't have known", Macy said softly. She felt like she was going to be sick to her stomach. She didn't want Nick back this badly. She didn't need the money this badly. And there was no way that she could live with herself by putting these two innocent people in danger.

Miley and Nick had spent the past two hours at the police station telling the officers everything that had happened that night. And now, all they could do was wait. Miley paced back and forth through the secluded room, waiting for something...anything...that could help them find Belle. Nick sat in a chair wearing an anxious but determined look on his face.

"God, why is it taking them so long to find out anything?", Miley asked nervously.

"Baby, I'm sure they're working as fast as they can", Nick attempted to assure her. "Here, come sit down."

She reluctantly settled into the seat next to him. Her hands were still shaking, and she still couldn't keep still though. She was too on edge.

"Why did this have to happen to Belle? There were tons of kids in that school. Why was she the one that got taken? It's not fair!", she cried.

He put his arm around her as she cried. "It's going to be okay. She'll be back with us soon. He's not going to get away with this. I promise you."

They looked up as they heard the door open. And standing there was none other than Jake.

Nick stood up, and began to approach him. "What are you doing here?", he demanded.

"They called me up here to be questioned", Jake answered calmly. "And I thought I would check on Miley while I was here."

"Oh, I'm sure you did."

Miley slowly stood up, and looked her ex straight in the eyes. "Don't lie to me, Jake. Did you take Belle? I want the honest truth."

He shook his head. "No. I didn't. But I want to help you find her. Please let me."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Why? What's in it for you? You never cared about Belle before."

"Isn't it obvious?", Nick remarked. "He's doing this so he can look good in your eyes."

"That's not true!", Jake insisted. He turned to her. "Miley, I screwed up. A lot. And I'm sorry. I guess it took all of this for me to see how much I love you and Belle. I'll change, I swear. Please just give me one more chance."

"Are you kidding me right now?", Nick exclaimed. If he wasn't in a police station, Jake would be on the ground right now. Probably with a couple broken bones.

"I can't take this anymore!", Miley shouted, tears rolling down her cheeks. She looked at Jake. "You don't even have a right to be here! You are nothing to Belle! Or me! You had your chance, and you blew it miserably. So, you do not get to just come in here and expect everything you've done to be forgiven. It doesn't work that way, Jake!"

"But Miley, I..."

"No!", she cried furiously. "Take no for a freakin' answer! I can forgive you for everything you did to me. But I will NEVER forgive you for everything you put Belle through. And I will sure as hell never forgive you for what happened to Ethan. My son is dead because of YOU!"

Nick's eyes widened. Miley had a son? She never mentioned that before. Lord, why would she not tell him something like that?

"Get out", she said in a deadly tone. Reluctantly, Jake turned and left the room, letting the door shut behind him.

Miley sank to the floor against the wall, and her sobs grew louder. Nick sat down next to her, and put his arm around her as she continued to cry.

"I can't lose her", she whispered. "I just can't."

"You won't", he assured her, brushing a tear from her cheek with his finger. "How come you never told me about your son?"

She pulled away slightly. "I uh...I don't really like to talk about it. I know I should've told you. I just..."

"Hey, it's okay. I know it must be hard for you."

"He was stillborn", Miley murmured, leaning her head back against the wall. "I went into labor too early. They couldn't save him."

"Baby, I'm so sorry", Nick sighed.

"Me too", she whispered. Then, her eyes widened as she made a realization. She covered her mouth with her hand.

"What is it?", he asked in concern. She didn't respond. "Miley, you gotta tell me what you're thinking."

Slowly, she turned to him. "You never let the kids leave your sight when you're watching them. But this time, you did. Because you were with Macy."

Her words felt like a stab in his heart. She was right. If he hadn't been so preoccupied with Macy's problems, he would've been paying attention to the kids. Belle would've never gotten kidnapped. This was his fault.

"You're right. I'm so sorry. I should've never taken my eye off of them."

Miley shook her head in disbelief, and forced herself up off of the floor. "She was all over you. And you didn't push her away. And while this was happening, someone kidnapped my little girl."

"Miley..."

"No", she cut him off. "That's what happened. I realize that Macy is going through a hard time. That's why I encouraged you to be there for her. Because I felt bad knowing that she was going through this alone. Even though I knew that she was up to no good. I knew it. And I let her into our lives anyway. And now God only knows where Belle is. I might never see her again."

Nick looked down at the floor. "You can blame me for this. But Macy didn't do anything wrong. I'm the one who wasn't paying attention, and I should've been. I'm the one that you should be angry with."

"Well, guess what? I am angry with you. And right now, I really think you should leave me alone."

"No way. I'm not going to leave you here alone", he uttered.

"Fine", she said. "Then, I'll leave."

"Miley, come on!", he called, rushing after her.

She fought back tears as she turned to face him. "Don't follow me, Nick. I need some time to think."

Helplessly, he watched her walk away. He just wanted to wake up from this nightmare. He loved Miley more than anything in the world. And he may have just lost her.

Don't worry. I don't think I can stand for Miley to be mad at Nick for too long lol. Reviews are much appreciated :)
