Hi everyone! Thanks for all the reviews on the last chapter. I'm sorry if it took so long to update. This week I have very limited internet access, so bear with me. The plans for this chapter changed slightly - some of the things I mentioned in the preview didn't go well with what I ended up writing. Hope you enjoy the chapter and review if you want me to keep going!

Chapter 36: Sectionals and Thanksgiving

Finn sat on the couch in his parents' house, watching a DVD of Sectionals their sophomore year. Rachel was going out to dinner with her dads and Kurt and Blaine were spending the evening with Blaine's family and Burt and Carole weren't back from DC yet.

Watching the DVD, Finn couldn't believe it had been four years. That weekend still felt like a blur - the truth about the paternity being revealed, temporarily quitting glee, hearing the setlist had been stolen, coming back and putting together a whole new setlist. Then they'd put together a whole new setlist. Rachel had done the solo, and the whole group had put together an amazing number, "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and closed with one of their best numbers, "Somebody to Love."

As "Somebody to Love" came to a close on the DVD, Finn heard the door open. He saw his parents and ran up to them. He knew it seemed a little ridiculous, but he'd definitely missed them.

"Honey!" Carole said, giving her son a hug. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too," Finn said, hugging his mom. Then he gave Burt a hug. "Hey!"

"Hey!" Burt said. "We're definitely glad to have you home. How are things with Rachel's mother?"

"It's definitely a nice house," Finn said. "I think she appreciates having Rachel and me there to help with the housework since she's so sick. We do miss living with Kurt, Blaine and Santana though."

"Kurt misses living with you guys too," Burt said.

"How's Congress?" Finn asked.

"It's fine," Burt said. "We had a meeting with the president this week. I'm not quite there yet, but I think we are pretty close to marriage equality in some other states."

"That's great," Finn said. He knew that one of Burt's major platforms was marriage equality.

"So, you're here by yourself tonight?" Burt asked.

"Kurt's out with Blaine and his family, and Rachel went out to dinner with her dads," Finn said.

"All right," Carole said.

Finn thought that while his parents were here, maybe now would be a good time to tell them what he was thinking about Rachel. "Can I talk to you guys?" He'd talked to Blaine, but Blaine was in a very similar situation to his.

"Of course," Burt said.

Finn was definitely nervous to talk to his parents. They hadn't liked the idea of Finn and Rachel getting married so young a few years ago. "Remember a couple years ago when I wanted to marry Rachel?"

"Of course we do," Burt said. "I hope you realize now that you guys were too young."

This wasn't starting out well. "Yeah, I do now," Finn continued. "But it's been a couple years now. Rachel and I are adults now. We've lived together, we've gotten each other through some tough times and we've gotten jobs that we found on our own..."

Carole looked at Finn. "Are you saying what I think you are?"

"Yes," Finn said. "I think we've grown up and I know now more than ever that she's the one."

"Well, Finn, a couple years ago, we thought that you were rushing into things, but you both have grown up a lot," Burt said. "I know you've both enjoyed New York, but at the same time, there've been things you've had to handle while you've been there that I can't imagine dealing with at your age. You two have handled those things better than I could imagine handling them and really helped each other grow."

"You've both grown up a lot and shown a lot of maturity this year," Carole added.

This sounded much better. "Are you saying- "

"If you have Rachel's dads' permission, you have ours," Burt said.

Finn smiled wide as he hugged both his parents. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome," Carole said.

"It's so nice to have you home for Thanksgiving this year, Rachel," Hiram said as he, LeRoy and Rachel sat down to watch the Macy's parade.

"I'm glad to be home this year," Rachel said.

"It wasn't the same without you last year," LeRoy added.

"Well, like I said, I'm glad to be home," Rachel said. "All of us from New York came home, and so did the other alumni who go to school in other cities, so we'll all get to go to Sectionals on Saturday."

"Good," Hiram said. "So, are you and Finn still staying with your birth mother?"

Rachel wished her dads wouldn't bring that up. She knew they weren't Shelby's biggest fans, but Shelby had helped her and Finn a lot by giving them a place to stay, and she knew that having them there had been beneficial to both Shelby and Beth. She had also formed a bond with Shelby. "Yes, but we are thinking that with the money from our jobs and from all the gifts we've gotten, we might be able to get a new apartment soon."

"I hope so," LeRoy said.

"LeRoy, Shelby might be coming around," Hiram said. "She is letting Rachel and Finn stay with her."

"We told her not to contact Rachel," LeRoy said.

"Well, we couldn't just drop them in a hotel or on the street," Hiram said.

"They were staying with Dani," LeRoy said.

"Without a real bed," Hiram shot back.

Rachel was glad that at least one of her dads seemed to be coming around, but she didn't want them to argue. "Could you please not? I'm not here very often."

"Sorry, Rachel," Hiram said. Then he paused. "How's Shelby doing?"

"Well, she's in the middle of treatments," Rachel said. "I think it's too early to tell what's going to happen. She has lots of friends in New York to help out. Finn and I can help with Beth, and Quinn and Puck came over from New Haven to help." She almost mentioned Kylie, but since her dads talked to Kylie's adoptive parents, she knew that probably wasn't a good idea.

The day after Thanksgiving, Rachel and Kurt had organized a Black Friday shopping trip for them and the other original glee girls. Rachel had gotten to the Hudson-Hummel house early. Burt, Carole and Finn were apparently still asleep, but Kurt was wide awake.

"You're never one to miss Black Friday shopping, are you?" Rachel asked Kurt.

"Of course not," Kurt said. "I doubt it will be like in New York last year, but it'll still be fun."

"I'm glad we came home this year," Rachel said.

"Me too," Kurt said. "We were being so silly last year."

"Did you have a nice day yesterday?" Rachel asked.

"Yes, other than my dad and Finn watching too much football," Kurt said.

Rachel laughed. "That sounds just like Finn."

"Yup," Kurt said. They heard another knock on the door and Rachel went to answer it. "Mercedes!" she exclaimed when she saw who was there.

"Hey!" Mercedes said, hugging both Kurt and Rachel.

"How's LA?" Kurt asked.

"Well, the group's working on another song," Mercedes told her friends. "We just need to find the right producer."

"You will," Rachel assured her friend. "Thanks for the donation your group sent us."

"Of course we did," Mercedes said.

Rachel heard the doorbell ring again and Kurt went to answer it. This time, it was Tina. "Hey, Mercedes!" Tina said as she came in.

Mercedes didn't look too happy to see Tina, and Rachel and Kurt knew why. It was because of Sam. "Hi, Tina," Mercedes said. "How's New York?"

"I love it!" Tina exclaimed.

"Good," Mercedes said plainly.

"What about LA, any guys?" Tina asked.

"Well, I was dating this guy from the record studio for a while, but then I found out I was his Saturday night date, and he also had a Friday night date," Mercedes said.

"What an ass!" Tina exclaimed.

"Yeah," Mercedes said. The doorbell rang again, and now Quinn, Santana and Brittany were all there together.

"It's the Unholy Trinity!" Brittany declared.

"Hey," Rachel said. "Who's ready for some Black Friday shopping?" There was already enough tension with Mercedes and Tina, so maybe going to the mall now would help relieve that.

"Me!" Brittany said, hugging Santana as Santana awkwardly backed away. The girls and Kurt headed outside as Santana came over to Rachel.

"Are you okay?" Rachel whispered to Santana.

"She's not over me, I know it," Santana whispered back.

"What's happening?" Rachel asked.

"Well, when Quinn picked her up, I asked her if there were any guys or girls at University of Lima, if there was a better selection than at MIT, and she said that she wasn't interested in dating anyone and then gave me a flirty look," Santana whispered.

Rachel was torn. She knew that Dani was a really nice girl and that she had been good for Santana, but she also knew that Brittany and Santana would probably always have something for Brittany. Before Rachel had a chance to say anything, Quinn came over. "Are you guys ready?"

"Yeah, let's go," Santana said, walking to the car with Rachel.

Finn woke up late the day after Thanksgiving, since he knew that Rachel was Black Friday shopping with Kurt and the girls. As he sat on the couch playing xbox, he saw Blaine and Sam come in. "How'd you guys get in?" Finn asked.

"Kurt gave me a copy of the key to your house," Blaine said.

"Cool," Finn said. "Want to join me on xbox?"

"Yeah!" Sam said.

Blaine grabbed Sam's arm. "We can join him on xbox after we do what we came here to do."

"Oh yeah," Sam said. He looked at Finn. "Blaine's going to ask Burt if he can ask Kurt to marry him, and he wants us with him when he asks."

Blaine really was serious about it. Finn guessed this was coming sooner or later since the two of them had talked about it so much, but now it was actually happening.

"Yeah," Blaine said. "Where is Burt now?"

"He's in the basement," Finn said. He turned off his xbox and started to lead Blaine and Sam downstairs. "Yesterday my parents said that I can ask Rachel's dads if I can marry her."

"That's amazing, Finn!" Sam exclaimed. "We'll both be groomsmen, right?"

"Of course you will!" Finn said. "I'll ask Puck, Artie and Mike too, and then I'd want Kurt as my best man."

"Rachel might want him as man of honor," Sam pointed out.

Finn laughed. "Well, brother tops best friend. She can use one of the glee girls or her sister as maid of honor. She's said that when she gets married she wants Santana, Tina, Mercedes, Quinn, Brittany and Kylie as her bridesmaids."

Burt came into the living room. "Blaine, Sam, what are you doing here?"

Suddenly Blaine looked nervous. "I actually came by to talk to you."

Burt sat down. "Okay, I'm here."

Blaine looked from Sam to Finn. "Well, I really love your son, and..."

"And?" Burt asked.

"I'm really sorry for what happened last year," Blaine continued. "I'll never let anything like that ever happen again. Kurt makes me so happy. He's such an amazing man."

"Well, I knew all that," Burt said. Finn could tell that Burt knew what was coming.

"I guess I'll just say it," Blaine said. "When I asked you to marry Kurt last year, it may not have been the right time, but I think now is. I want to marry Kurt."

Finn couldn't help but back Blaine up. "It's like what I said when we were talking about Rachel. Kurt and Blaine are stronger than ever now. Living together has been really good for them, and they've grown up a lot since we got to New York."

"Well, I had a feeling this was what you were here for," Burt said. "And I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Finn when he asked me about Rachel: back then it wasn't the right time, but now it is. I knew the first time Kurt brought you home, the first time he told me about you, that you were the one for him."

Blaine looked thrilled. "So that's a yes?"

"Yes," Burt said.

Blaine hugged both Finn and Sam. "We're going to be brothers-in-law!" Finn said.

"Yeah we are!" Blaine said.

"Now let's go talk to Rachel's dads!" Sam said.

Finn was caught off guard. "What?"

"Let's do it, Finn!" Blaine agreed. "You and I keep talking about marrying Rachel. We should go ask her dads for permission."

"And Blaine and I will go with you," Sam said.

"I just told you, Finn, your mother and I are all for it, as long as Rachel's dads are," Burt said.

"Then there we go!" Sam declared. "Come on, Finn."

Finn wasn't sure if he was ready for this.

"I managed it," Blaine said. "So can you."

"Okay," Finn agreed. He wanted to do this, and if he wanted to do it, he'd have to do it at some point. He might as well do it now, when he had two of his closest friends with him.

"Good luck," Burt said.

"Thanks," Finn said. He, Sam and Blaine went to his truck, where they drove to Rachel's house. "I can't believe I'm actually doing this," Finn thought out loud.

"You want to marry Rachel, right?" Sam asked.

"Of course I do," Finn said. "I've asked her before, remember? But this time feels different. It feels like it's for real this time."

After a few minutes of driving in the quiet, the boys arrived at Rachel's dads' house. They walked up to the door, but Finn couldn't gather the courage to ring the bell. Blaine had to do it.

Rachel's dad Hiram came to the door. "Hello, gentlemen. How are you doing today? Did you have a nice holiday?"

Finn couldn't get the nerve to speak. "Yeah, we did," Sam said. "Can we come in?"

Hiram looked confused. "Of course."

"Is your husband home?" Blaine asked.

"Yeah, he is," Hiram said.

Finally, Finn managed to speak. "Can you go get him? I just want to talk to you guys about something."

"Yeah, I'll go get him," Hiram said. After he left the room, Blaine and Sam turned to Finn. "You can do this," Blaine said. "I did it."

Finn nodded. "I can do it."

"Yes you can!" Sam said.

Hiram and LeRoy both came into the living room. "Hey guys," LeRoy said.

"Hi," Finn said. "So, Mr. and Mr. Berry, this is something big that I wanted to talk to you about, and Blaine and Sam are with me because I'm nervous..."

"Rachel's not pregnant, is she?" LeRoy asked.

"No, she's not," Finn said. "Like I said though, this is something big. This time I'm doing what I should do: I'm asking you if I can marry Rachel. I want to spend my life with her and to have children with her. Being with her in New York has helped me realize how much I love her and how I never want to be with anyone else. I know that when I asked her to marry me two years ago, we were at a crossroads and didn't even know if we'd be in the same city. But now that we're both sure what we want to do with our lives and we're living together, I really hope you guys will let me ask her to be my wife."

"Well, Finn, we'd be lying if we said we didn't see this coming," Hiram said. "Your parents did call us after you talked to them to tell them you were considering it. And like you said, this is different from before. You and Rachel are both starting adulthood and have grown up."

"We never doubted that you loved Rachel," LeRoy added. "We just doubted the circumstances. We didn't want you to end things, we just thought you were taking the wrong step at the wrong time."

"But now, Finn, you two are ready," Hiram said. "So our answer is yes."

Yes? Finn jumped up. "Yes! Thank you so much!" He hugged Rachel's dads and both Blaine and Sam.

"We're both going to get married," Blaine told Finn.

"Yes we are," Finn said. He thanked Rachel's dads again before he, Blaine and Sam headed to The Lima Bean for some celebratory treats. As the three of them sat down at their table, Finn felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned and saw Ryder and Marley. "Hey guys!" Finn said, hugging both of them as Sam and Blaine did the same.

"It's so nice to see you!" Ryder said.

"Guess what!" Sam said. "Finn and Blaine are both going to get married!"

"Seriously?" Marley asked.

"Yeah!" Blaine said. "I got permission to ask Kurt to marry me, and Finn got permission to ask Rachel."

"That's great!" Marley said. "Make sure you invite us to the weddings."

"Oh, we will," Finn said. "If it's okay with Rachel, I want New Directions to perform at ours."

"So do I, if Kurt wants them to," Blaine said.

"Well, as captains, we'll be able to arrange that," Ryder said.

"So, how are things with you two?" Sam asked.

"They're great," Ryder said. "I can't imagine us being any happier."

"Neither can I," Marley said.

"Excited for Sectionals tomorrow?" Finn asked.

"Well, we're facing off against Vocal Adrenaline," Marley admitted. "Unique used to be in Vocal Adrenaline, and she told us about how good their choreography always is."

"They even make it to Nationals last year, but that was probably only because they had to face off Throat Explosion at their Regionals," Ryder said.

"Well, New Directions has beaten Vocal Adrenaline before," Finn said. And he frankly thought they deserved to beat them at Regionals his sophomore year (Jesse's performance of Bohemian Rhapsody had sounded strained) and at Nationals junior year (their songs had been pretty boring).

"And you can do it again," Blaine added.

x

After a fun day at the mall with the girls yesterday (to Rachel's relief, the tension had ended once they got to the mall) all the New Directions alumni were heading to McKinley to help the current New Directions get ready for Sectionals. Since they were doing songs from Wicked, they were just wearing their costumes from the musical. As always, it felt nice to be back in the choir room. Rachel couldn't help but steal a glance at their first ever Sectionals trophy in the case. Then she heard a voice next to her. "We're going to put another one of those in the case today."

Rachel turned and saw Kitty there with Artie. "Excited to show everyone what a great Glinda you were?" Rachel asked Kitty.

"Of course!" Kitty said.

"You look beautiful in your costume," Artie said.

"Well, thank you, Arthur," Kitty said. "I'm so glad you're here."
"Wouldn't miss it," Artie said.

"None of us would," Rachel said, noticing Kylie coming up to them.

"My first time with competition solo lines," Kylie said to Rachel.

"Very exciting," Rachel said. "You'll be great though. These are the same lines you had in Wicked, so you can just think of it as that."

"That's true," Kylie said.

"I showed Shelby the DVD of Wicked," Rachel told Kylie. "She loved it."

"Really?" Kylie asked. She leaned over to Rachel. "Jack wished me good luck."

"Ooooo!" Rachel giggled, smiling at the look on Kylie's face. It reminded her of the looks she got when talking about Finn before they were together.

"Show circle!" Mr. Schue called out.

The current and former New Directions gathered for a show circle, and then the alumni went out to their spots in the audience. Vocal Adrenaline performed first, and their decline was obvious to Rachel. The choreography wasn't what it once was, and their vocals sounded strained in a few places. The second group, from a high school in the Columbus area, performed next, and then New Directions took the stage as the opening notes from Wicked began.

New Directions: Good news!
She's dead!
The Witch of the West is dead!
The wickedest witch there ever was
The enemy of all of us here in Oz is dead!
Good news!
Good news!

Rory: Look! It's Galinda!

Kitty: Fellow Ozians...
Let us be glad
Let us be grateful
Let us rejoicify that goodness could subdue
The wicked workings of you-know-who
Isn't it nice to know?
That good will conquer evil?
The truth we all believe'll by and by
Outlive a lie
For you and-

Nathan: No one mourns the Wicked!

Ellie: No one cries: "They won't return!"

Harmony: No one lays a lily on their grave

Anthony: The good man scorns the Wicked!

Samantha: Through their lives, our children learn

Rory: What we miss
When we misbehave

Kitty: And goodness knows
The Wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The Wicked die alone
It just shows, when you're wicked,
You're left only
On your own...

New Directions: Yes, goodness knows
The Wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The Wicked cry alone
Nothing grows for the wicked
They reap only
What they've sown

Jack: How I hate to go and leave you lonely

Aubrey: That's alright - it's only just one night

Jack: But know that you're here in my heart when I'm out of your sight

Joe: Have another drink, my dark eyed beauty
I've got one more night left, here in town
So have another drink of green elixir
And we'll have ourselves a little mixer
Have another little swallow, little lady
And follow me down

Unique: It's coming!

Jack: Now?

Unique: The baby's coming!

Jack: And how?

Jack and Unique: I see a nose
I see a curl
It's a healthy, perfect
Lovely, little -

Ah! Like a froggy, ferny cabbage
The baby is unnaturally -

GREEN!

Rory and Harmony: No one mourns the Wicked!
Now at last, she's dead and gone!
Now at last, there's joy throughout the land
And Goodness knows
We know what Goodness is
Goodness knows
The Wicked die alone
Woe to those
Who spurn what Goodnesses
They are shown
New Directions: No one mourns the Wicked
No one mourns the Wicked!
No one mourns the Wicked!
Wicked!
Wicked!

The opening number for Sectionals had sounded just as good now as it had in the musical. Maybe even better. After just the first song, Rachel was sure New Directions would win. But now it was time for the second song.

Ryder: The trouble with schools is
They always try to teach the wrong lesson
Believe me, I've been kicked out
Of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow
Less shallow
But I say: why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife
And learn to live "the unexamined life"...
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can sluff it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through...
Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is faught less
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try
Never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure you're where less
Trouble is rife
Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing
Through life...
So-what's the most swankified place in town?
Kitty: That would be the Ozdust Ballroom.
Ryder: Sounds perfect.
Let's go down to the Ozdust Ballroom
We'll meet there later tonight
We can dance till it's light
Find the prettiest girl...
Give her a whirl
Right on down to the Ozdust Ballroom
Come on
Follow me
You'll be happy to be there...
New Directions: Dancing Through Life
Down at the Ozdust...
Ryder: If only because dust
Is what we come to
New Directions: : Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life...
Ryder: So keep dancing through...
Jake: Miss GLINDA, I hope you'll save at least one dance for me. I'll be right here. Waiting. All night.
Kitty: Oh-that's so kind. But you know what would be even kinder?
See that tragic'ly beautiful girl
The one in the chair
It seems so unfair
We should go on a spree
And not she
Gee-
I know someone would be my hero
If that someone were
To go invite her...
Jake: Well maybe, I could invite her?
Kitty: Oh, Bick, really?
You would do that for me?
Jake: I would do anything for you Miss GLINDA.
Kitty: So...
Ryder: So I'll be picking you up around eight?
Kitty: After all-
Now that we've met one another
Kitty and Ryder: It's clear we deserve each other
Kitty: You're perfect...
Ryder: You're perfect...
Kitty and Ryder: So we're perfect together
Born to be forever...
Dancing Through Life...
Kylie: Oh, Elphaba-Isn't it wonderful?
Fin'lly for this one night
I'm about to have a fun night
With this Munchkin boy
Glinda found for me
And I only wish there were
Something I could do for her
To repay her
Elphaba, see
We deserve each other
And Glinda helped it come true
We deserve each other
Me and Boq -
please, Elphaba, try to understand.
Marley: I do...
Glinda, listen. Nessa and I were talking about you just now.
Kitty: And I was just talking about you. I thought you might want to wear this hat to the party tonight!
It's really-uh-sharp
Don't you think?
You know black is this year's pink
You deserve each other
This hat and you
You're both so smart
You deserve each other
So here
Out of the goodness of my heart
Jake: Listen, Nessa
Kylie: Yes?
Jake: Uh, Nessa.
I've got something to confess, a
Reason why, well-
Why I asked you here tonight
Now I know it isn't fair...
Kylie: Oh, Boq. I know why.
Jake: You do?
Kylie: It's because I'm in this chair
And you felt sorry for me
Well isn't that right?
Jake: No! no! It's because..uh..because...
Because you are so beautiful
Kylie: Oh, Boq! I think you're wonderful!
And we deserve each other
Don't you see, this is our chance?
We deserve each other
Don't we, Boq?
Jake: You know what?
Let's dance!
Kylie: What?
Jake: Let's Dance!
New Directions: Dancing Through Life
Down at the Ozdust
If only because dust
Is what we come to
And the strange thing:
You're life could end up changing
While you're dancing
Through!

The final song would be one that both Rachel and Kurt had done for their first duet together. It made Rachel think of that when she and Kurt had heard it at the musical, it made her think of that now, and she could tell by the look on Kurt's face when they exchanged a look that he was thinking of it, too.

Kitty: Elphaba - why couldn't you have just stayed calm for once, instead of flying off the handle!
(sung) I hope you're happy!
I hope you're happy now
I hope you're happy how you
Hurt your cause forever
I hope you think you're clever!

Marley: I hope you're happy
I hope you're happy, too
I hope you're proud how you
Would grovel in submission
To feed your own ambition

Kitty and Marley: So though I can't imagine how
I hope you're happy right now

Kitty: (spoken) Elphie, listen to me. Just say you're sorry:
(sung) You can still be with the Wizard
What you've worked and waited for
You can have all you ever wanted:

Marley: (spoken) I know:
(sung) But I don't want it -
No - I can't want it
Anymore:

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

Kitty: Can't I make you understand?
You're having delusions of grandeur:

Marley: I'm through accepting limits
'cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!
I'd sooner fly
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down:
(spoken) Glinda, come with me. Think of what we could
do, together.

(sung) Unlimited
Together we're unlimited
Together we'll be the greatest team
There's ever been
Glinda -
Dreams, the way we planned 'em

Kitty: If we work in tandem:

Kitty and Marley: There's no fight we cannot win
Just you and I
Defying gravity
With you and I
Defying gravity

Marley: They'll never bring us down!
(spoken) Well? Are you coming?

Kitty: I hope you're happy
Now that you're choosing this

Marley: (Spoken) You too
(Sung) I hope it brings you bliss

Kitty: I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it

Kitty and Marley: I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy, my friend:

Marley: So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky!
As someone told me lately:
"Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
I'm flying high
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown!
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

At the end of the final song on the setlist, the crowd was on its feet. If possible, the songs had sounded even better today than they did at the actual show. A few minutes after New Directions' performance, the judges came on stage and announced that New Directions were the winners of Sectionals. As Mr. Schue was handed the trophy, Rachel felt so proud to have once been a part of this team.

Chapter 37 preview: Finals are approaching for the colleges in New York and everyone works hard to do well on their semester report cards. Finn and Kurt go ring shopping for Rachel, and Rachel gets news about Shelby.
