*Firstborn Child*
Pam looked down at her belly, which is now a bit bigger than usual. She couldn't believe how lucky she is. First she realized that she loves Pythor back. Then he proposed to her, and she said yes. Then they married, making her the new and loving Snake Queen of the Serpentine. Now she realizes that she's pregnant with Pythor's child.
Learning that she's going to be a mother makes her think about what their child will be like. After all, the father is a snake. Although the Serpentine are more like humanoid snakes, she wonders if the child will look more human than snake. Will it be completely human? Will it be born a Serpentine?
"Is everything alright, my love?" She looked up to see Pythor leaning on the couch she's laying on, a smile on his face to bring a smile to hers.
"I was just thinking about what our little one will look like she's born," she answered with a shrug. He then arched a teasing eyebrow at her.
"Oh? And what makes you think it's going to be a girl? There's a fifty-percent chance that it will be a boy."
"Well, it's a bit of a trait that runs on my mom's side of the family. When my grandmother—Heaven bless her soul—had children, Mom was the firstborn. And when she had children, my older sister was the firstborn. And when she had children, my niece was the firstborn. And when my maternal aunts and uncles had children, their firstborns were all girls. One exception was my one maternal uncle whose firstborn was a boy, but that trait never passed to him because he was adopted."
"So you're saying our firstborn will be a girl due to this trait in the women in your mother's side of the family," Pythor replied, earning a nod from his queen. He only smiled at her before reaching down and gently rubbing her belly.
"Well, if it will be a girl," he said, kissing her on the forehead, "she will certainly inherit your beauty." Pam only smiled back before giving his hand a loving squeeze.
*The Perfect Rock (sequel to Stay Like This With Me)*
As Cole and Skalidor broke the passionate kiss so as to breathe, the Constrictai knew that it's now or never. So he reached into his satchel and pulled out a small black box. Cole looked down at it with interest before his eyes went wide with realization.
"Skali…is that…" Skalidor only nodded before opening it to show him the golden ring on the silver chain necklace, topped with a black diamond.
"I have saved this ring ever since my mentor/father/last General passed the staff down to me," he stated, "saving it for the one I love. And so I ask you…Cole, Black Ninja of Earth…will you marry me?" The black-haired human only looked up at him with a smile before giving his answer.
"Yes…" With delight in his heart, Skalidor placed the necklace around Cole's neck and pulled him in for another kiss, which he happily returned.
*An Important Decision (sequel to Together at Last)*
When he came into the apartment, Skales found his husband standing out at the balcony in his icy blue/ebony black royal robe, an outfit he chose as a sign that he's the loving mate of the Hypnobrai General. Seeing that he's awfully quiet and hasn't noticed his presence yet, Skales went up and wrapped his arms around his waist from behind.
"Hello, lover," he purred into his ear. Cole turned to him with surprise.
"Oh! Skales," he said. "You surprised me." Skales arched his eyebrow at him with confusion and concern.
"What's bothering you, dear Cole?" The Black/Earth Ninja looked hesitant before answering him.
"Skales…how do you feel about being a father?" Skales blinked at that question but decided to answer him truthfully.
"Well, I would like that very much. I was even thinking about asking you about it myself, but it looks like you've beaten me to the punch. Are you thinking about adopting?"
"Well, actually," he replied with a frown, "I wondered what it would be like if our child was born through us, but…everyone knows that only females can give birth." Skales frowned as he understood…but then a thought hit him.
"There's a way," he said to him. "I know of a potion that can allow males to get pregnant. Of course, there's a reason it's rarely used. See, after one of us drinks the potion, the other will have to…well…you know…" Cole only smiled in reply.
"Then I'll bear the baby," he said, giving his Serpentine a hug.
"But, Cole," the surprised Skales stated, "that would mean that you must drink the potion, and then I have to—"
"I know, but if all that will lead to us having a child our own, then I'm willing to go for it…especially the childbirth part." Skales smiled in reply.
"Alright, but I'm going to be with you every slither of the way."
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Cole chuckled before kissing his husband on the lips. And Skales only returned it happily.
