A/N: Yes, I'm BACK! I am so incredibly sorry that it took me such a long time to update. I spent most of the summer with my grandparents (who live in the middle of nowhere and therefore have no Internet access) because of some family things that were happening at home. But I'm back now, so I should be updating regularly again. Again, REALLY sorry for the wait.

"Thank you! Good night, everyone!" Miley waved to the crowd one last time before making her way backstage. Lilly was there waiting for her.

"You were awesome out there", her friend smiled, handing her a bottle of water.

"Thanks", she smiled back, taking a sip before pointing to Lilly's cell phone. "So how many times did Nick call?"

Lilly shrugged. "I lost count at nine."

Miley let out a small laugh. She loved that her fiance cared so much about her and the baby. Really, she did. And she knew that he didn't like that she was working right now (even though she felt perfectly fine). Which is why she promised that this would be the last show until the baby was born. Mostly because she didn't want to advertise her pregnancy to the press. She had already begun to develop a small bump. Most people would probably never notice, but it seemed very obvious to her.

As all the people left the arena, the noise died down significantly. Her smile carried a hint of sadness. She loved singing, and she would miss it over the next few months. But this was a time that should be focused on her family and friends. She was about to get married, after all. And shortly after, her second child would make his or her appearance. Even if she wanted to keep working, she wouldn't have the energy for it.

"Hey, don't look so sad!", Lilly said, obviously noticing her conflicted expression. "You're going to sing again."

Miley nodded. "I know."

She felt a little bit better once they had gotten into the limo. "You know, it is kind of a relief", she admitted. "Knowing that this is one less thing putting pressure on me."

"Have you decided what you're going to do about psycho woman yet?", Lilly asked cautiously. The blonde knew she was walking a narrow line. She didn't want to stress her friend out, but she couldn't stand to be left out of the loop.

Miley just shrugged. She knew that time was running out, but she was becoming more and more confident that this woman wouldn't be found. All they really could do was wait and do what she asked.

"I'd rather not talk about her", she finally sighed. "But I'm taking care of it."

Lilly nodded, but she wasn't so sure she believed that.

The next morning, Nick was in the kitchen making omelets for breakfast. Miley was due back any time, and this was one of the few things that didn't make her sick lately.

"Daddy?" He looked to the doorway where Belle was peeking into the room. "Somebody's at the door", she informed him.

Good timing, he decided. He flipped the last omelet onto a plate and handed it to his daughter before going to the door. But he was slightly caught off guard when he opened it, and...there were his parents. A week early.

"Mom, dad!", he uttered, clearly surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, we were so excited for the wedding that we decided to come a little early", his mother replied as she hugged him. "That's okay, isn't it?"

He scratched the back of his head. "Uh, yeah." Miley liked his parents. Surely she wouldn't mind. At least, he hoped not. She hadn't been having a whole lot of mood swings, but he didn't want to push his luck.

"Your mother thought it would be a good idea to surprise you", his father said, looking to his wife. "I tried to tell her we should call first."

"Well, I didn't think you would mind", she responded with a dismissive wave of the hand. "Now, where is my future daughter-in-law?"

"Not here at the moment", he answered as his parents walked past him into the living room. He closed the door behind them. "She should be back soon though."

"Good", Denise smiled. "I was thinking of taking her out for a mother-in-law, daughter-in-law day."

"How come you didn't act this excited when Joe and Kevin were getting married?", Nick asked curiously. It was no secret that his mother hadn't supported his older brothers' marriages. She had done everything short of wearing black to the weddings to show that. And she really knew very little about Miley to be so happy about their engagement.

"I'm like any other mother, Nicholas. It's hard to show me a girl and convince me that she's good enough to marry my son."

"And Miley convinced you?"

His mother appeared to consider for a moment. "She's a nice girl", she finally spoke. "I could see that right away. But it's more than that. I could see the love in her eyes when she looked at you. And I could see it in yours when you looked at her. With your brothers...I don't know. I guess I just didn't think that they could possibly make marriages work when they were so young. Maybe I was wrong."

"Mom admitting that she may have been wrong?", Nick said, feigning disbelief. "Where's a video camera when you need one?"

His dad chuckled. "I was just thinking the same thing."

Miley couldn't believe that Nick thought she would mind if his parents stayed with them a little longer than originally planned. She wanted a chance to get to know them better. Plus, if nothing else, grandparents always made the best babysitters. So it was a win-win.

She really didn't understand why Lilly and Denise didn't care for each other. Obviously, she thought her best friend was awesome. And her future mother-in-law seemed great too. A little overprotective of her sons, but wouldn't any mother be that way? And she was clearly crazy about her grandkids. She was constantly bragging about how smart Myles was or how pretty Kevin's daughter- Alena- was. Quite frankly, the woman talked a lot. But she didn't mind that. Talking was something that they did a lot of in her own family.

"Oh, you look so beautiful!", Denise gushed as Miley came out of the bathroom in the dress that the older woman was just dying to see. She was relieved to find that it still fit somewhat comfortably, even with her progressing pregnancy.

"Thanks", she said, laughing a bit. "Belle says it makes me look like a princess."

"All you need is a crown", Denise agreed. "And you can't even tell that you're pregnant."

Miley's eyes widened at the statement. Oh, Nick was so getting it. They had agreed to tell everyone at the same time, and he had probably gone and let his whole family in on it.

"You know", she said softly, not even bothering to dance around the subject. But she was slightly nervous to see how she felt about this. What if Denise thought that she had tried to trap Nick or something?

Instead, the older brunette gave her a huge smile. "So, I'm right? I thought I recognized that glow, but...oh honey, congratulations. This is amazing."

Miley looked at her, clearly confused. "Wait. Nick didn't tell you?"

Denise shook her head. "No. But I had four kids. I know what a pregnant woman looks like. Nick must be over the moon, huh?"

She nodded. "He's really excited. We both are. I mean, we definitely never planned on this happening so soon. But this baby means the world to us now that it's here. It's a new beginning. In a lot of ways."

The older woman held up her glass of water with a smile. "To new beginnings."

Miley smiled and clinked her own glass with it. "To new beginnings."

More of Nick's family arrived in town in the coming days. Miley's relatives weren't coming until the rehearsal dinner, since they lived much closer. Nick wished that he got to see his family more often, but he was glad they were going to be there for his wedding. The problem lied in the fact that when the three older brothers were all together, they seemed to find themselves in some form of trouble. But he chose to ignore this when Joe and Kevin suggested a "guys night out."

"This is great", Joe remarked, his eyes moving from his drink to his brothers. "I can't remember the last time we did this. Why did we stop doing this?"

"We got married", Kevin answered, shooting Nick a sympathetic glance. "I'm telling you, bro. You say those vows, and you say goodbye to your freedom."

"Not to mention- fast food and football", Joe added.

"She's worth it", Nick said thoughtfully. He had been a bachelor plenty long enough. Now, all he wanted was to be a husband and father. But the occasional night out never hurt anybody, right? It wasn't like he was going to get wasted or anything. He had only had three. Or was it four?

"Guys, I think we have some admirers", Kevin said, looking at the table a few feet away. His brothers glanced at the two girls. A blonde and a brunette. The blonde smiled shyly and the brunette gave them a flirtatious little wave.

That's when Nick realized...he had seen her before. "Oh my God. It's her", he said, disbelieving of what he was seeing. "She's the girl."

Kevin looked at him, confused. "What girl?"

Joe's eyes widened. He knew what was about to happen. "Man, are you sure it's her?", he asked cautiously. "She looks pretty harmless to me."

But Nick refused to listen. He got up to confront her. Joe followed him, trying to talk him down the entire time. Kevin followed behind as well, with no clue as to what was going on.

"Hi", the brunette grinned as they approached the table.

"Who do you think you are?", Nick asked, unable to keep the pure rage out of his voice.

Her expression quickly changed. "Uh, excuse me?"

"You thought you were gonna get away with it, didn't you? You thought you could hurt my family and walk away like nothing ever happened."

"Dude, what are you talking about?", Kevin intervened.

"She knows exactly what I'm talking about." Nick looked from the brunette to the blonde. "I wonder if your friend knows the kind of things you do in your spare time. How you con people out of money. How you torment innocent women. How you steal little girls-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." The brunette stood up to face him. "Look, I think you have gotten the wrong girl." She looked back at her friend. "Can you imagine that, Taylor? Me stealing a kid?"

The blonde shook her head. "Selena would never do something like that."

Joe put his hand on his brother's shoulder. "Nick, I don't think it's her."

"You didn't see her, Joe", Nick replied, his eyes not leaving the brunette. "I know it's her."

And he did. The only difference between this girl and their stalker was that this girl's hair was long and wavy. The other girl's was shorter and straighter. But a hairstyle could easily be altered. He watched Miley and Lilly do it all the time.

"You're coming with us right now", he said firmly to the girl- Selena.

"What? Why would I go anywhere with someone who thinks I'm a child-stealing con artist?", she exclaimed. She looked back to the blonde. "I think we should get out of here."

Joe looked cautiously at his brother and decided to make an appeal to the girl. "Listen, I think this is a case of mistaken identity. But could you just hear him out?"

"This isn't mistaken identity, Joe! This girl- ", Nick said, pointing at Selena. "-has tortured my family long enough, and it's going to stop!"

"Hey!" He turned to see a large man covered in tattoos standing in front of him. "Leave the lady alone", the man warned.

"Uh, bro?", Kevin said nervously. "I'm not really sure of what's going on here, but I don't think you want to push this guy."

Ordinarily, Nick would agree. But they didn't know everything that this girl had done. Everything she was threatening to do. He finally had her in his sights where she couldn't do any more harm. He couldn't let her go. So he decided to try and reason with the large man.

"Look, I can't do that", he said slowly. "I'm not gonna hurt her. I would never do that. But I have to make sure she can't hurt my family anymore."

"I don't know what the hell he's talking about!", Selena said, clearly exasperated.

The next thing Nick knew- he had been knocked to the ground. Punches were being thrown at him, and he fought back until he was finally able to stand up again. But the fighting still continued until the man was out of his face. Dizzy, he stepped back and his normal eyesight returned. Joe and Kevin had taken care of the guy. But he hadn't anticipated what would happen next.

Nick sat on the cold concrete floor, his head leaned up against the wall.

"I can't believe you got us thrown in jail", Joe muttered from his seat on the cot.

"Hopefully, we'll be bailed out soon", Kevin said, holding onto the bars as if it would make someone show up faster. Then he looked at Nick. "What was that even about?"

"Long story", Nick replied, not even bothering to move his head from the wall. That was when he realized that he may have been wrong. Selena didn't start with an M. Unless it was a last name. Maybe it really was just a lookalike. Which meant that he probably got them all arrested for no reason.

"Well, you can't say that I'm not a good brother", Joe remarked. "I took a black eye and a bloody lip for you."

Nick forced a small smile. At least he knew that his brothers had his back. That was the only good thing that could've possibly came out of this. Miley was going to be furious. Lilly and Dani were going to be furious. Their parents would be furious. He would almost rather stay in jail for the night than listen to it all. But he supposed that he deserved it. He went off on an innocent girl. He got into a fight. And then, he got himself and his brothers put in jail. All in the course of about half an hour.

Joe let out a small chuckle. "You know what's funny? Before you lost your mind, that Selena chick was totally checking you out."

"And her little friend was totally checking you out", Kevin pointed out.

"Her friend has good taste", Joe teased.

"Or maybe she just knew all about your weakness for pretty blondes", Nick remarked.

"Hey! I have never discriminated based on hair color! And besides, I think you guys are just jealous because I get all the pretty girls. I mean, have you seen my wife?"

Nick looked at his brother in disbelief. "I know you aren't insinuating that your girl is prettier than mine."

"Okay, I think it's pointless to argue over who has the most beautiful wife", Kevin said. "They're all beautiful. Mine is just slightly more."

"Wow, it's like they know we're here."

At the sound of Lilly's voice, all three of them looked up in relief. The blonde was standing between Miley and Dani. They all had their arms crossed, looking extremely annoyed.

"Baby, have I ever told you how much I love you?", Joe asked, approaching the steel bars with a nervous smile.

Kevin stood up as well. "Listen, I know you guys are probably mad. But there's a perfectly good explanation for this. It's uh..."

"It's all Nick's fault!", Joe blurted out as he pointed at his brother. He didn't want to sell out Nick, but he didn't think he could deal with Lilly giving him the silent treatment for the next week.

Dani rolled her eyes. "You expect us to believe that Nick is the one who started a bar fight?"

"Nick, is that true?", Miley asked as a police officer came to unlock the cell. The brothers slowly filed out, none of them wanting to face an angry wife.

After Nick and Miley got settled into the car, he gave her an apologetic glance. "Joe was right. This was my fault."

Miley shook her head. "I don't understand. This isn't you. You don't go get into fights with people. And you certainly don't get yourself arrested! What happened?"

He proceeded to recount the whole incident. And by the time he was done, Miley looked a lot less angry and a lot more understanding.

"So you aren't mad at me?", he asked cautiously.

She let out a sigh. "No. How could I be? You were trying to protect me. And I love that you were willing to do that for me. I do. But baby, you should've known that she wouldn't just serve herself up to us like that. Not the day before she becomes a million dollars richer. I don't know where she is, but I guarantee you she's laying low."

"I know. I just...I thought it was her."

Miley leaned over to kiss him softly on the cheek. "I know you did. Look, don't even worry about it. As far as I'm concerned, this whole incident never happened. We just have to focus on getting through tomorrow, okay?"

"We're gonna get through it", Nick said, more to assure himself than anything.

Miley forced a small smile. "Darn right we are."
