I am sorry to say this, but this will be the last chapter of Year of the Snake Oneshots. I have a lot of catching up to do with some of my other fanfics, and my Cole/Skalidor yaoi oneshots have given me an idea for a future Ninjago fanfic.
However, I have understood that one of my reviewers has offered to start a second season for it. (S)He is welcome to do so on the following conditions:
1) Each chapter must have three oneshots; no more, no less
2) Each oneshot must have at least one Serpentine starring in it, OCs included
3) Add disclaimers before the oneshots as well as a yaoi warning (if any)
Thank you, and enjoy the oneshot finale!
*In This Together (deleted fan-scene from Rise of the Spinjitzu Master)*
"Pythor, get Lloyd up to the top!" Kai yelled as he leapt onto the floating machine to fight his evil-possessed sister. "I'll hold her off." Pythor nodded in reply before placing his brother on his back and slithering up as quickly as he could to the top of the building where the Overlord stands in all his evil glory.
As they approached the top, Lloyd felt a wave of dread wash over him. Not only had he injured his leg; he also failed to beat his father. As the group headed up the building, the dark matter hit the ninja one at a time to possess them: first Jay; then Zane; and finally Cole. Then Nya, possessed by the dark matter, flew up with her machine to stop the rest, but Kai stayed behind to keep her away from Lloyd and Pythor. Now said two are the only ones left, but Lloyd couldn't stand the thought of loosing his older brother/best friend like the others.
"Pythor, you should stay behind. This is my fight, and…I don't wanna lose you." The Anacondrai only glanced at him with determination.
"Not going to happen, Lloyd. You said so yourself we're in this together, and I promised your father I'd be there for you no matter what. And because I love…I'm not going down on that promise." Lloyd smiled in reply as they reached the rooftop and then scowled up at the black shadow dragon that is the Overlord.
"Then let's do this," he said, putting his mask on and hopping off of his brother's back. "Together." Pythor nodded in reply as he used his magic to summon forth his wings and a sword and shield of energy as icy blue as his head and chest gems.
"Together it is!"
*Part of Our Family (sequel to In This Together)*
Lloyd and Pythor frowned as the others celebrated their victory over the Overlord. They may have beaten him, but…where's Garmadon? Is he…
The two of them turned around sharply at the sound stones falling off the sides of their pile. They then saw a pile of rubble move aside to let a man step out, a man with silver-white hair and a silver robe. Misako approached the man with awe.
"Garmadon? Is that you?" Lloyd and Pythor turned to the man in awe. Is it really Lloyd's father?
"Dad?" Lloyd asked hopefully. In answer, the man gave him a smile; not an evil smile but a good, loving smile that filled his son with more hope. "Dad!" Lloyd ran up to his father and hugged him, tears flowing from his emerald eyes. Misako approached them and hugged her husband as well.
"The Devourer's venom…" she whispered in awe. "It's gone."
"I feel…good," Garmadon said, hugging his wife and son. "Oh, it's been so long since I've felt this way."
"Brother, it's good to have you back," Sensei Wu said, approaching his brother and hugging him.
"Wu," Garmadon replied, returning the hug. "It's good to be back."
Pythor watched from the side with a sad smile. Lloyd's family is now complete now that he has his uncle, his mother, and his father back together with him. But it also now looks like the Anacondrai's no longer needed, so Pythor turned to leave the scene and leave Ninjago City forever…only to feel a hand grab his. He then turned to see that it was Lloyd.
"You're not thinking about leaving, are you?" he asked with a smirk that surprised Pythor.
"Lloyd…I—"
"You're my older brother, remember? So technically, that makes you part of our family. Besides, it can't my complete family without you." Pythor couldn't believe what he has heard. Lloyd still considers him family. In reply, he took his little brother into his arms and hugged him with a huge smile on his face. Garmadon, Wu, and Misako then hugged him as well, and he wrapped his long tail around them to return the hug as huge tears cascaded down his face. He may not be human, but to the Garmadons and the Ninja, he's family.
*Hail King Pythor (sequel to Part of Our Family)*
"Pythor, are you sure you wanna do this?" asked Kai as they approached the large door to the Stone Army Tomb.
"They may have caused us all serious trouble and havoc," he answered calmly, "but they are Serpentine…like me. You all have taught me of second chances and doing the right thing. It seems only fair that they know these teachings as well."
The ninja nodded in answer as they all watched Pythor placed his hand on the door, and it began glowing along with his head-gem. The outlines on the door glowed as well before opening with a rumble. They then stood back and watched as the door opened to reveal the four Serpentine Generals on the other side: Skales; Fangtom; Skalidor; and Acidicus. Way behind them were the other Serpentine, cowering in fear at the sight of ninja and Anacondrai before them.
"It's them!" Fangtom cried as he, Skalidor, and Acidicus held up their staffs as weapons. "Give the word, Sire…and we'll take care of them." Skales only looked up at Pythor with confusion. He isn't lifting a claw to fight them, and the ninja aren't fighting them either. Why?
"Stand down, Generals," he said, holding his hand up. They were confused at first but lowered their staffs when they saw that he's serious. Skales the slithered up to Pythor, but the ninja didn't move to attack. They know Pythor wants to earn the Serpentine's trust, and attacking them isn't the answer. Skales soon stopped once he's before the taller snake and looked up at him with a calm expression.
"Why?" he asked him calmly. "Why did you free us?"
"Because if there is one thing Sensei Wu has taught me," Pythor answered, "is that everyone, especially all of you, deserves a second chance." Skales couldn't believe what he has heard. After getting locked up underground again, they're getting a second chance above ground?
"But…after all we've done to you…" Pythor held his hand up before explaining:
"You all have caused me so much trouble in life, the worst being you kidnapping Lloyd and threatening his very life. After you got locked away down here, I thought it was the best punishment and decided to let you stay locked away for good after the Overlord was defeated. But now I see that you all deserve a chance to redeem yourselves. Garmadon helped me realized it."
"Garmadon?" Acidicus asked with shock.
"He lives?" added Skalidor.
"Yes," Pythor answered. "After Lloyd defeated the Overlord, the venom of the Great Devourer left him, changing him back to good so that he can be with the one treasure he cherished with his own heart: his family. Because of this second chance he was given, I have realized that you deserve the same things as well despite all you've done: forgiveness, compassion, and mercy.
"You may have failed to show this to the humans above because they locked you all away long ago, but things have changed over that time. There are some humans who adore snakes, and there are others who wish to understand you more: your customs; your cultures; your traditions…True, other humans still fear you. But when I say that you deserve the chance to redeem yourselves and live with humans like friends and family…I am telling the truth.
"You have one choice: make peace with the humans as you roam freely above ground, or stay here underground and fear them as your enemies. Either way, the choice is yours alone."
They all then turned to Skales: the ninja, the Serpentine, the Generals, and Pythor…until he removed the crown from his hooded head.
"You have shown us something we have never felt in a long time: forgiveness…compassion…and mercy…despite all we have done. Our generals before us have taught us that a true leader is a teacher who would lead a good example for his people to follow. I now know that…" He then looked up at him with a warm smile. "You are that true leader. And so I step down as Snake King and pass the crown to you, for you are the teacher who freely offered to teach us the new ways and help us make peace and friendship with the humans."
Then the crown glowed gold before floating up out of his hands and up over Pythor's head before placing itself on top of it. Then Pythor's wings suddenly appeared on his back and changed their color. It has now become the five main colors of the five Serpentine Tribes: blue; red; green; black; and violet. The wings then folded to look like a cape, and on it to hold that "cape" appeared a golden clasped shaped like a five-headed hydra.
"All hail King Pythor!" Skales then cheered, and the Serpentine cheered with him, cheering out the name of their new king. The ninja also cheered with them, proud of their Anacondrai friend. Pythor only smiled in reply, feeling good about offering these Serpentine a second chance to redeem themselves.
