Chapter 30

I was becoming aware of the ground shaking under me. Something big was coming. "Allison, who is watching us?" Optimus asked. I closed my eyes and focused on the energy levels that I was picking up. Both of them were Decepticons, actually three. Two of the energies were so strong they drowning out the third that was much smaller.

"Optimus we got a visual, it looks like the device is in some kind of metal harness." After Lennox said that I knew something was wrong, the energy in the air had changed to that of tension.

"Laserbeak, Shockwave, and his pet." The Allspark had given me a name to go with the energies. Laserbeak would be easy for me to handle, but the others matched Optimus in size, at least Shockwave did, his pet was more than three times larger than Optimus. The shaking of the ground was getting stronger. I pressed the com in my ear and spoke to Lennox, "Get out of there! Now!" Before I could get a response a huge Decepticon shaped like a worm was bobbing in and out of the building and I quickly jumped up onto Optimus cab. All of this had taken place within seconds of Lennox talking to us on the coms.

As soon as I had taken my stance Optimus took off. He was chasing the Decepticon who was tearing the buildings up. I was glad for all the training the Autobots had given me because Optimus was clocking more than 100 miles an hour trying to get ahead of the Decepticon and I managed to keep my balance. The metal buildings beside me would have been a blur if the Allspark didn't allow me to see things crystal clear even in fast motion.

I tensed as I felt Optimus get ready to transform. As soon as he did I was going to have to jump to get out of the way. This fact made me very grateful for my new legs because they allowed me to jump much higher than the average human could ever hope to do. Two seconds after Optimus tensed slightly I jumped fifteen feet up into the air as Optimus transformed along with his trailer which was a weapon cache. As Optimus landed in his bipedal mode I landed right between his feet with my bracelet activated.

As Optimus ran to the circular weapons stock his trailer had formed all the other soldiers that had come with us came running out of the building. "Stay behind me," Optimus ordered. After a moment of loading his arms up with knives he added, "You too Allison." I grumbled at the order but did as he said. He was probably right, Shockwave's pet was too much for to try to take on, no matter how brave I was.

Optimus then proceeded to fight with the Decepticon worm which looked like a carefully choreographed ballet. This dance ended with Optimus cutting off the head of this worm but it didn't kill it as it drew back to its master. Shockwave cocked his gun, loading the chamber, "Optimus," he growled as Optimus slid into a one knee crouch, one hand armed with a blade pointing towards Shockwave, the other on the ground keeping his balance.

Moments later Shockwave and his pet were gone. "What the hell was that thing?" Lennox asked as Optimus walked toward him.

"That," Optimus said throwing his blade to ground, "is Shockwave." Lennox then knelt down to examine the object that had fallen from the mouth of the creature that Optimus had beheaded.

"And this?" Lennox asked looking at the object, kneeling to get a better look.

Optimus joined him in his crouched position, "That's impossible. This is an engine part from a long last Autobot ship." After some more discussion we packed up and left. As soon as I was in Optimus' cab I was asleep. When I got back I had a therapy session with Smokescreen and those were always draining. When I woke up we were in the plane going back home. "Allison," Optimus called. I was still in his cab.

"Yeah Optimus?" I asked sitting up and stretching.

"If I decide to bring Sentinel back what will you do?"

"Defend you and your choice, which is exactly what I will do until I draw my last breath."

"And what will happen if I bring him back?" Optimus asked.

I sighed, "That I don't know for sure, but it's not going to go well, no matter the first appearances. The Primes only told me that the shit would hit the fan and I would have my work cut out for me. I don't know if they meant as the Allspark or the ambassador, but whatever you decide I will do everything I can to defend you and the others." Silence then fell on the both of us for the remainder of the ride. I was getting ready to defend them against the new director Charlotte Mearing when we got back.

This mission of escorting the Prime Minister of another country hadn't exactly been cleared with her and as part of escorting the Prime Minister a base was blown up. I wasn't sure how I was going to explain this, since she knew I went on every mission. She wasn't as bad as Galloway, but still a pain im my ass and everyone's around her.

Within the hour we were back at the base and I had gone to get changed into some clean clothes. I pulled on my black skinny jeans, a pair of slip on shoes, and a tee with the Autobot insignia on it. As I was headed down to see Smokescreen I heard Miss Mearing's voice. I commed Smokescreen, "Allison to Smokescreen." I waited for a response changing the direction I was walking.

"Go for Smokescreen."

"I'm going to be late for our session. Miss Mearing just got here. I'll be there as soon as I can."

"That's fine Allison, your schedule is more complicated than most peoples'."

I smiled slightly, "Thanks Smokescreen." With that I turned to the first bay that the Autobots came across when they entered the base. I was not expecting a visit from her so soon.

"So tell me, this mystery raid in the Middle East, was it unit involved?" Her high, cold, stern voice carried through the halls.

"I don't know ma'am," Lennox replied.

"Are you in charge, yes or no?" she asked. I just came in the door way next to her falling in line beside Lennox. She never took her eyes off her phone.

"Yes ma'am," Lennox replied.

"Stop with the ma'am, enough of the ma'am. Do I look like a ma'am?" Her assistant who was loaded down with bags shook her head as Lennox tried to figure out the right answer to that.

"Uh no ma'am, yes ma'am." I just shook my head as Lennox stumbled over his words, trying to get the answer right.

"And you why didn't you inform me of this mission?" She had rounded on me.

"It's not my job to inform you of every little move the Autobots make, it is my job to defend them from politicians like you." With that she turned her back on me walking further into the bay, no doubt to chew Optimus out. This was not the best idea; he had been in a foul mood ever since we picked up the engine part. He may have had a civil conversation with me but that didn't mean he was any less pissed.

"This is perfect invention I've made. Right. Oh, good they're here. My name's Que, I do hope you have answers for him. I've never seen him so upset." Jackie was talking about a mile a minute again.

Charlotte ignored him. "Optimus, you remember Charlotte Mearing?" Lennox asked as we approached him. We stopped at the desk that was placed in front of him. "Our Director of International Intelligence."

"He's not in a good mood," Dino said wagging his finger at us, his accent pleasant though I couldn't quite place it. "He's a not want to talk-a to talk to anybody today." I just smiled by at Dino. The way he put it was almost humorous.

"What is this? The silent treatment?" Mearing asked.

"We have seen that and this is not that," Ironhide said walking over to Optimus.

"Definitely not," Jackie said.

"This is worse, Prime make something of yourself!" Ironhide said hitting the top of Optimus' cab. "He's pissed."

With that Optimus transformed not even touching the desk that was only inches in front of him. Optimus was crouching in front of us, "You lied to us. Every humans' know of our planet we were told had all been shared so why was this found in human possession?" He had pointed at the engine part and then at Mearing.

"We were in the dark on this also. It was director clearance only at Sector Seven until now." With that her assistant handed her a green bag after trying to figure out which one she wanted. As her assistant was trying to figure this out she muttered, "Oh my god," while looking at Optimus. Once she had what she wanted which was a book she continued to talk, "this is a secret that few men knew and even fewer remain alive." Some men came in from the side door, "Allow me introduce to you two of NASA's founding mission directors and astronaut Buzz Aldrin. One of the first two men to set foot on the moon." She shook his hand. "Sir. Optimus Prime."

"From a fellow space traveler it's a true honor," Buzz said.

"The honor is mine," Optimus replied.

"Our space of the 1960s appears was in response to an event," Mearing said.

"Our astronauts investigated a crashed alien ship. No survivors on board." Buzz was the one who had spoken.

"A total of 35 people knew of the real plan at NASA. Soviets managed to land unmanned probes. Somehow they must have picked up that fuel rod. We believe the Russians deduced that the rod was a fissionable fuel assembly. Believed they had it mastered and tried to harness it at Chernobyl," Miss Mearing went on.

"We went on six missions in all. We took hundreds of photos and samples. We locked them away forever. And the moon program was shut down," Buzz added.

"Where did they search the crash hold?" Ironhide asked.

"The ship's name was the Ark. I watched escape the Cybertron myself. It was carrying an Autobot technology which would have won us the war. And its Captain," Optimus said.

"Who was its captain?" Miss Mearing asked.

"The Great Sentinel Prime, the technology's inventor. He was commander of the Autobots before me. It's imperative that I find it before the Decepticons learn of its location. Our Autobot space craft has the technology to get there and you must pray that it's in time." Optimus was giving Miss Mearing a strong look who had moved up on the bridge so she was now more eye level with Optimus.

I couldn't go to the moon with them so I went to Smokescreen's office. Today was a long day and it was far from over. I had a two hour session with him, to talk about every single that I had ever had. That number was 16, 16 names of cats, dogs, fish, and rodents that I had at one point had.
