Chapter 9:

The Fellowship

"I can't come running every time Sookie needs help. She's Bill's problem," Eric told Pam.

"A problem you love to fix when ever something miserable happens to that human," Pam said, "And you still owe me a pair of pumps for going after the thing that attacked Bill's problem."

Eric's phone began to ring, "You'll get your pumps," he said before answering, "Yes."

"Eric?"

The blonde vampire smiled, "Evelyn, what a surprise."

"Something has happened."

"Eve, what is it?"

"Godric is missing."

24 Hours Earlier

"I don't think my mother likes the house I brought her and Jimmy last month on her birthday," Eve told Isabel, "She says it was too big of a gift. I told her I could afford it."

"Does she not like it?" Isabel asked.

"She loves it. That's not the problem," Eve said, standing in the living room at the mansion, "She hates that I don't actually live there with them. She doesn't like me staying most nights here. Especially now with a crazed church group."

"She's your mother, it's her job to worry," the vampire said.

"I'm twenty-seven years old," Eve said, "Its past worry time. She should worry about Jimmy. He's almost at the age when I started to become a pain."

"Am I interrupting?" Godric asked as he stood in the archway.

"No, Sheriff," Isabel said.

"Of course not," Eve replied, "I have all the AVL paper work you requested ready."

"Thank you," he said, "Now, you should take the rest of the night off. I've worked you too hard as of late."

"I don't mind," Eve said, "I like the money you give me in return…that totally made me sound like a whore."

Godric smiled a little as Isabel laughed, "It did," she said.

"I'll walk you to your car," Godric offered as Eve walked toward the door. He walked silently beside her the whole time until they reached the car, "You are a very good employee, and I'm glade I stopped by The Rock that night and gotten you fired."

"Are you saying you did it on purpose?" she asked, turning around.

"I'm not saying anything, it was just luck," he said, "If I have to be bonded with a human, I'm glade it was you."

She gave him a funny look, "Thanks, I guess."

"You should take tomorrow off as well," he said, "Spend time with your family."

"Don't have to tell me twice," she said about to turn back to the car when he stops her. He placed a hand on her arm and looks into her eyes without saying anything. She stares back waiting for him to say something.

"Stay out of trouble, little one," he said before letting go.

She nods her head before getting into the car.

XXX

On her day off, she spent the entire time watching movies with her family and went out to eat for a late dinner.

That's when she received a phone call from Isabel.

"Is Godric with you?"

"No. Why?"

"Do you know where he is?"

"What's going on, Isabel?"

"No one seems to be able to locate him."

"I'll be right over," Eve replied into the phone before hanging up, "I have to go into work. Don't leave here until Jerry shows up to take you home."

"What's going on?" her mom asks.

"Please, I'll have Jerry pick you up and take you home. Don't leave the house until you hear from me," she said before leaving the table without another word. As quickly as she could, she drove over to the mansion. Isabel waited for her at the door. "What's going on?" she asked.

"We think Godric may have been taken," Isabel said, "By the Fellowship."

"Humans took a two thousand year old vampire," Eve said, walking into the house, "How is that possible?"

"Don't know, princess," Stan said, "You're as shocked as you are."

"How long has he been gone?"

"We don't know," Stan answered.

"You don't know! How do you know it was the Fellowship?"

"Godric had received a lot of threats from them," Isabel said.

"A few phone calls are not a lot," Eve said.

"It seems our dear Sheriff doesn't tell you everything," Stan said.

"How many?"

"He didn't want to worry you," Isabel said.

"Worry me? He's been taken!" Eve shouted, "Have you contacted Eric?"

"No," Isabel said.

"Why the hell not?!"

"It's not his concern," Stan said.

"Not his concern! Godric is his Maker and he'll be pissed if we don't tell him," Eve said before taking out her phone, "I'm calling him," Isabel stepped foreword, "I'm calling him!"

There were two rings before Eric picked up, "Yes."

"Eric?"

"Evelyn, what a surprise."

Looking at the two vampires in the room, "Something has happened."

"Eve, what is it?"

Sighing, "Godric is missing," she was met by silence, "We think he was kidnapped."

"Put Isabel on the phone," Eric said quietly.

Eve did as she was told. She listened to the one sided conversation as Isabel explained what they knew to Eric. The vampire went silent before looking back at the only human in the room. Isabel handed the phone back.

"I'm coming to Dallas. I'm bringing someone with me who can help."

"Who can help in a situation like this?"

"Someone who owes me a favor for saving her life."

XXX

Isabel informed Eve that they couldn't reach out to any vampire contacts about Godric. If word got out that a human organization kidnapped a vampire, there would be war. Something Stan wasn't afraid to voice out loud many times. They had to wait for Eric to come to Dallas.

It was two nights later when Eric arrived at the mansion. It had been over a year since Eve and Eric laid their eyes on each other. They stared at each other before Stan broke the silence.

"Where's this human that can help?" he asked.

"They will be flying in tomorrow," Eric said.

"They?" Isabel asked.

"Sookie and her vampire companion," Eric said, "He wouldn't allow her to come without him."

"What exactly can this Sookie do to help?" Isabel asked.

"She has…special gifts," he said.

"That's it?" Eve spoke up, "That's all you're going to give us."

Eric turned his attention back to her before asking the room, "Are you sure it was the Fellowship of the Sun?"

"Stan is positive," Isabel answered, "But I'm not so sure."

"They're the largest human organization that hates us right now," Stan said, "Jesus loving freaks."

"Plus," Isabel said, "We've been receiving threats from them and now they have stopped entirely."

"Because they finally got what they wanted," Eric said.

Everyone in the room went silent for a few seconds.

"We should wait for your human to discuss anything," Isabel said, not missing the way Eve reacted to 'your human', "There's a room for you here," she told Eric.

"I already have a room at Carmilla," the blonde vampire said. He couldn't stay at the mansion if Godric wasn't there himself.

"If you insist," Isabel said before her and Stan excused themselves from the room leaving Eric alone with Eve.

"You cut your hair," Eve observed, "It looks nice."

"Pam did it for me," Eric said, "She'll be glade to hear that you approve."

"Even though I never met her, I think she missed her calling."

Eric smiled a little, "How's your brother?"

"Independent twelve year old," she said, causing her to smile.

"Can I give you a ride home?"

"I've been staying here since…I need to be here just in case I could do something to help," she said.

"You're helping just by being here," he said, "Godric told me many times the great work that you do for him."

"Yeah," she said, taking a seat on the couch, "A lot has changed since the last I saw you."

"Yes, I would imagine," he said, taking a seat beside her.

"How could this have happened?" she asked, "If the Fellowship did take him…they're human."

"I don't know. I've been trying to make sense of it myself."

"Godric is powerful," she said, "He could take on the entire world if he wanted to."

"He has many times."

Eve smiled, "I guess you have to fill your two thousand years with something interesting."

Eric looked down at the human before taking her hand into his, "I've missed you."

Looking up at the vampire, "I missed you too," she said before leaning her head on his arm and squeezed his hand.

Everything that happened between them in the past just didn't seem to matter anymore. What mattered was that they needed each other right now. Eventually, Eric wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned them back into the couch so he could hold her against him. This was what they really needed. Comfort. Nearness. Friendship. Love.

Dawn was approaching when Eric looked down at his sleeping companion. She had fallen asleep in his arms a few hours ago on the couch. He didn't have the heart to disturb her from her peaceful sleep in his arms.

But now he didn't have a choice. He needed to get back to Hotel Carmilla. He gently laid her down on the couch, took off his leather jacket, and covered her with it. He pushed back her hair from her face before leaning down to give her a kiss on the cheek.

With one more look at his little human, he turned and took off in the remaining dark before dawn.

XXX

Eve entered the mansion the next night with Eric's guests already sitting in the living room, "Sorry…my mom demanded that I go and see her today to show proof that I was still alive," she said.

"It's alright," Isabel said, "We haven't really discussed anything helpful yet."

"Helpful?" Stan asked, "We take them out with a pre-empty strike. That's helpful to our cause."

"See what I mean," Isabel said as Eve took her place beside the vampire.

Eve locked eyes with Eric and couldn't help but give him a little smile.

"I'm Sookie Stackhouse," the blonde human said before standing up to shake Eve's hand, "This is Bill Compton." Bill only nodded from where he sat.

"Eve Jones," Eve replied and took Sookie's hand.

"Godric's human?" the blonde asked.

Rolling her eyes, "Yes, but I'm more than that."

"Aren't we always," Sookie said.

"Eve has been working for Godric these past two years," Isabel said.

"She's more of Godric's business partner as of late," Eric finally spoke with a smile.

"You've been doing vampire dealings?" Bill asked almost to clarify.

"Yes," Eve said, looking at him, "Believe it or not humans can be more than just blood bags."

"I didn't mean to insult you," Bill said, apologizing.

Sighing, "It's alright Mr. Compton. We've all been stressed these last few days."

Bill smiled, "Please, call me Bill."

Looking at Sookie, "Why does Eric seem to think that you can help save Godric?" Eve asked.

"I'd like to know that as well," Isabel said.

Sookie turned to Eric, "You haven't told them?"

"He hasn't told us anything, pretty lady," Stan said.

"Stan, can it!" Eve said.

"I'm a telepath," Sookie explained, "I can read people's mind."

"And find out information people are keeping inside," Eve said, looking at Eric, "Genius."

"I can only read minds of humans," Sookie went on.

"In order to do that, you'll have to get inside," Eve said, quietly.

"Absolutely not!" Bill said, standing up.

"If doing so gets Godric back, then so be it," Eric said.

"Don't any of you care that there's a traitor in your midst?" Bill asked.

"Impossible," Isabel said.

"How would you know?" Eve asked Bill.

"Somebody tried to kidnap me from the airport," Sookie said.

"You were the only ones that knew she was coming," Bill said.

"Explain," Eric demanded of Stan and Isabel.

"It wasn't any of us," Eve said, "We didn't know who you were bringing."

"I can still infiltrate the Fellowship of the Sun. Bill glamoured the kidnapper, no one knows who I am. I'll pretend to join the church, and check out their thoughts," Sookie offered.

"If you're sure," Eve said.

"No," Bill interrupted, "During the day, none of us can help you."

"Send in both humans," Stan said.

"No," Isabel said, "They know who Eve is. She's been out seen with Godric at many occasions."

"Its settled, I won't risk you like that," Eric said, looking at Eve.

"But you can risk Sookie?" Bill asked.

"She owes me," Eric said.

"He's right. After this everything will be settled," Sookie said, "Right?"

"Yes," Eric answered.

Bill stepped toward Eric, "A few words," he said before walking away with Eric following.

Eve followed Eric with her eyes longingly. She really did miss her vampire. There hasn't been anyone since him.

"Oh, you belong to Eric," Sookie said suddenly, "Sorry, I read your thoughts."

Eve smiled at the woman, "A human can only belong to one vampire."

"So, how are you and Eric…whatever?" Sookie asked, "And why?"

"We are…I'm not sure what we are. We have a past," she explained, "As to 'why', yes, it's true he is a total ass but he's not always."

"Eric can actually be nice?" the blonde asked, having a hard time believing that.

Smiling, "When he wants to be."

"I don't mean to interrupt," Isabel said, "Sookie, I wanted to ask you how your human, vampire companionship is going."

"She's asks this of anyone evolved with a vampire," Eve said before leaving to go to the kitchen. She looked in the fridge to see if there was anything she could offer the other human girl. Of course there was nothing. She's been too busy worrying to send Taylor to do the shopping. Taylor has her old job of taking care of the girls who donates.

"Can I trouble you for a Tru Blood?" Bill asked, coming into the kitchen.

Of course, the fridge is stocked with those. She handed him one.

"I didn't mean to upset you about Sookie going in alone," she said to the vampire.

"It turns out, Hugo, Isabel's human is going to go in with Sookie tomorrow. So she won't be totally alone," Bill said.

"Well, Hugo is a lawyer. He can lie his way through anything," Eve said.

The plan was made and everyone agreed to it. Sookie and Hugo would go into the Fellowship and pose as a couple looking for a place to get married at. It was going to work. It had to.

Sookie and Bill left to return to Carmilla while Stan went out to feed and Isabel went to Hugo's place. This left Eve alone with Eric at the mansion.

Eve order takeout for herself and Eric offered to wait with her.

"Thanks for bringing Sookie to help," she said, sitting across from him at the table in the kitchen.

"She's a firecracker," the vampire said.

"She's pretty."

"Yes she is," he said, "But she's not beautiful like you."

Eve smiled before she sighed, "I hope they'd get here with my food. I'm so hungry."

"I hope they hurry too," he said, "I need something to eat as well."

Rolling her eyes, "There's Tru Blood in the fridge."

"It's not the same," the vampire said, "Are you offering?"

"The delivery boy will do just fine…you know, the other night when I first saw you again, I forgot how tall you were."

"I hope that's the only thing you forgotten," he suggested.

"I remember all of it," she said before the doorbell rang.

The two of them sat in silence as Eve ate her takeout. Eric had taken a little from the delivery boy before whipping his memory.

Clearing her throat, "I did make a room for you upstairs. You don't have to stay at the Carmilla. You'll already be here if we get word."

"Is it our room?" he asked.

"No, that's my room. Yours is across the hall from it."

"Pity," he said.

"Even when Godric is gone, you're still a freaking hound dog."

"It's my nature."

"So?" she asked.

Nodding, "If you'd like."

Isabel and Stan had returned at different before dawn. Eric departed to the room Eve indicated while Eve got ready for bed herself. Her sleeping habits had completely changed to suit working for Godric.

Even then, she could get herself to fall asleep. She tossed and turned for a while before deciding to make her way to Eric's room across the hall. She didn't know what compelled her to do this. Eric is dead to the world. He couldn't do anything for her while the sun was still up.

Entering the room and closing the door behind her, she made her way to the bed where he slept. He laid on top of the covers still in his clothes. She pulled back the covers before sliding in beside him and rested her on his chest. She was like that for a few minutes before she felt his arm wrap around her waist to move her closer to him. She looked up at his face but even in the dark, she could see him opening his eyes before smiling down at her.

She didn't have to explain herself. He understood. She leaned up to kiss him on the lips before lying back down and falling into peaceful sleep in his arms. He soon followed.

XXX

Eve was in a peaceful slumber when she was awoken by the sound of a phone ringing in the room. She realized she wasn't the only one awoken by the unnatural sound, when she felt Eric move away from her slightly.

She groaned loudly with disapproval. She heard Eric chuckle before he ran fingers through her hair, "Go back to sleep," he said before rolling her over and getting up in a sitting position, "Yes," he answered the phone. She couldn't help but listen to what he was saying. "You're sure?" She rolled back over to face him. "Alright. Come here once its dark," he said before hanging up, "Bill thinks something has happened to Sookie. Their bond awaked him. He felt her fear."

She slide over until she sat up behind him, "What do we do?"

Eric turned until he looked into her face, "I can't do anything until dark."

Eve looked at the clock beside the bed; they still had a few hours until night fell.

"I can go over there," she offered.

"No," the vampire said, "Sookie and Hugo most likely were found out. No use you going over there and giving them one more hostage…we wait until nightfall and then we go in."

XXX

"What are we waiting for?" Bill asked as he, Eric, Eve, Isabel and Stan stood in the living room of the mansion once again.

"We are not even sure something happened," Isabel said.

"I felt Sookie's fear. She in trouble," Bill said.

"I didn't feel anything from Hugo," Isabel said, "If something was wrong, I would know."

"I'm going," Bill, said about to leave.

"Wait!" Eve said, "Isabel, are sure you felt nothing?" The vampire nodded. "Any other emotions?"

Thinking, "I did feel something for a few seconds, but then he was calm," Isabel said.

"I would say that is something," Eric said.

"If they were caught, why wouldn't I feel something more from Hugo?" Isabel asked.

"Maybe they ran off and joined the Fellowship themselves," Stan suggested.

"Careful," Isabel warned, "Hugo is mine."

Eve turned away from the group. She was thinking.

"What is it?" Eric asked.

"What if they did join the Fellowship?" Eve asked, "Not Sookie, but Hugo. I'm sorry, Isabel, but it makes since. Especially since we have a traitor. If they were in trouble, why wouldn't Hugo be freaking out like Sookie? Unless, he knows they won't hurt him."

"So, you're saying Hugo might be working for the Fellowship?" Bill asked to clarify.

"That's exactly what I'm saying," Eve said.

"Why would you say such a thing?" Isabel asked, looking hurt.

"I'm sorry, I don't want it to be true," Eve said, "He must have been approached by them. They must have promised him something."

"Like what?" Eric asked.

"If it was a long happy life, the Fellowship can't give him that," Stan said.

Ignoring him, "Like protection from vampires for information," Eve said, "I would know because they approached me as well, but I told them to stick it."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Isabel asked.

"I told Godric," Eve said.

"This discussion is going nowhere," Bill said, "I'm going in with or without your help."

"Bill's right," Eric said, "We can't wait anymore."

"I'll round up the forces and we take out everyone," Stan said.

"No," Isabel, "No human causalities. We go in quietly."

"I'm sure it will all work out fine," Stan said.

"I'm going in too," Eve said.

"No," Eric and Isabel said at the same time.

"Either I go in with you or I go in alone," Eve threatened, "I'm sure that will work out perfectly for me."

Eric sighed, "Fine."

They took cars to the Fellowship compound except for Stan, who ran off without telling them where he was going. The plan was to split up and look for Sookie, Hugo, and Godric. Eve went with Eric because that was the compromise of her tagging along with the rescue operation.

They each entered the church at different entrances. Eric and Eve started to enter the chapel when he stopped them suddenly, "I hear Sookie screaming," the vampire said before picking Eve up and running to the basement. As they entered the basement, there were screaming coming from another part of the church.

Eric appeared and saw Godric standing over a dead body. He placed Eve down before walking toward his maker.

"Godric," Eve whispered.

"Evelyn," Godric said, sadly.

"Eve," Sookie said, getting her attention.

She looked and saw Sookie on the ground with her dress halfway ripped off, "Oh my God, Sookie!"

"He tried to rape me," Sookie stammered, looking at the body on the ground near Godric, "Godric saved me."

"You're alright now," Eve said, taking off her jacket to give to the poor girl.

"You were a fool for sending humans after me," Godric said to Eric, who was kneeling before him.

Eve helped Sookie to her feet.

"I had no other choice. These savages they... they seek to destroy you," Eric said.

"I'm aware of what they've planned," Godric said.

Walking closer with an arm around Sookie, "You went with them willingly."

Godric couldn't look her in the eyes, "This one betrayed you," he said, pointing at Hugo. He was passed out in a cage.

"He's with the Fellowship. They set a trap for us," Sookie explained.

"We got that sweetheart," Eve told her.

"Where's Bill?" Sookie asked.

From upstairs, they heard more screaming, "He's around," Eve said before an alarm started to go off.

"Save Eve and the other girl," Godric told Eric.

"I'm not leaving your side until you are…" Eric started to say.

Godric interrupted, "I can take care of myself."

"Can we go, please?" Sookie asked.

"Spill no blood on the way out," Godric ordered.

With one finally look at his maker, Eric turned to walk to the door that lead to the stairs. Eve started to follow but stopped to look at Godric. She wanted to say something.

"Evelyn, please," Godric said, softly.

Swallowing hard, she wrapped an arm around Sookie again and went to follow Eric as he ascended the stairs that lead out of the basement.

Once they were upstairs, the place was crawling with Fellowship members with weapons. There wasn't a safe way for them to go not without Eric spilling blood.

On the loudspeaker, a man's voice blared out, "Brothers and sisters, we are on lockdown…"

"Who is that?" Eve asked.

"Steve Newlin," Sookie answered, "He was an extremely annoying voice."

Steve went on, "The hour is upon us!"

"He's really full of himself, isn't he?" Eve asked.

Eric turned to the girls and indicated for them to be quiet before turning back to watch the guards. They stood in the shadows watching as regular humans fled from the church with their families into the nights.

"Why are there so many people here?" Eve whispered.

"They were having some kind of sleepover with their church members in celebration for what they had planned for Godric," Sookie answered.

"What did they have planned?" Eve asked.

"It doesn't matter," Eric said, "He's free, "I could have us out in seconds."

"There are kids out there," Sookie said.

"All those humans wouldn't think twice about hurting us," Eric turned to tell her.

"That's true," Eve said to him, "But you don't hurt children."

"Where is Bill?" Sookie asked once again.

Sighing, "His attachment to you is irrational. It clouds his judgment. He would kill every child in this church to save you," Eric said.

"Can we finish this discussion later? Like back at the mansion," Eve said.

The vampire turned back to the entrance door that seemed to be their only exit. The guards locked that entrance with silver changing their plans of escaping. That's when Eric decided to walk out toward them.

"What happened to not spilling blood?" Eve asked.

Turning back slightly, "Trust me," he said before continuing his pace.

"Trust him? Of course," Eve said sarcastically.

In the end, he was able to disarm the humans and put them on the ground without killing them.

Eve walked out to join him, "Wow, I'm impressed."

"You haven't seen anything yet," Eric said as Sookie joined them, "Wait until later when we're alone."

Coughing to clear her throat, Eve looked away from the blonde vampire.

"Gross," Sookie commented.

"Where's the exit?" Eric asked.

"We can go through the sanctuary," Sookie said, "This way," she led the way to the big open spaced room. Eve would have enjoyed the beauty of it if they weren't running for their lives.

The only problem was Steve Newlin was waiting for them, "Can I help you ladies with something?" he asked as Fellowship members with weapons began to surround them.

"Let us leave," Sookie begged, "No one has to die."

"The war has begun you evil whore of Satan," Steve told Sookie.

"Harsh," Eve commented.

Steve directed his eyes on her, "And you, the other one's whore. The one we are holding prisoner."

"Excuse me?" Eve was angered.

"The vampire you're holding prisoner got away," Sookie interrupted, "He's a Sheriff. He's bound to send for help."

"I'm not concerned with Godric," Steve said, "Any vampire would do for our grand celebration," he looked at Eric.

The vampire turned to Eve, "I'll be fine."

"No," she said, "Just kill them and then we can go home."

"I was given an order," he simple said before walking toward the alter where men began to wrap silver around him.

Eve stepped forward to stop them when someone grabbed her to keep her back.

"Don't touch her!" Eric demand.

"You don't get to give orders, vampire," Steve said, "Brothers and sisters, there will be a holy bonfire at dawn."

Eric groaned in pain before he spoke, "I offer myself in exchange for Godric's freedom, and the girls as well."

"That's noble," Steve said, "They're just as culpable as you. Traitors to their own race."

With tears in her eyes, "I'll rather be a traitor than a human right now. You're a monster."

Steve didn't have the chance to respond before Bill came rushing into the chapel.

"Bill!" Sookie yelled.

He began to move toward Sookie when Steve pulled a gun and pointed it at the girl, "One more step and the girl dies."

"Great idea," Eve said sarcastically, "Piss off the vampire you don't have silvered."

"Let them go or everyone here dies," Bill threatened.

"You can't hurt us in our great father's house," Steve said, extending his arms out.

"Newlin!" someone shouted before shooting Steve in the head with a paint ball gun.

"Some protection," Eve whispers.

"Let my sister go," the same person said, coming down the aisle of the chapel.

"Jason!" Sookie yelled.

Bill took the detraction to knock down the men who were holding Sookie, and took the girl into his arms. At the same time, Eve turned on the man holding her and kneeled him in the crotch.

Once she was free, she ran to the alter, "Eric?"

"Remove the silver," he said, softly.

She began the process of removing the silver chains from around his arms and neck. She watched as his fangs appeared from the pain. He wounds were slowly healing.

"Don't you dare ever to that again," she said, "You hear me?"

"Perfectly," he said before giving her a quick peck on the cheek. He then went straight for Steve. He gripped the man by the throat and began to push him down towards the ground.

"Go ahead. Murder us. Murder us before God. We are willing to die," Steve said to the vampire.

The other Fellowship members in the room looked shocked by his statement.

"I don't think everyone else is on the same page," Eve said, coming around to stand next to Eric.

That was when a large group of vampires entered the chapel led by Stan.

"Steve Newlin!" Stan announced, "You have pushed us too far. You expect us to sit on our thumbs while you round up your men to come lynch us? We'll kill you first. Same way we did your father."

"Wonderful, we're all saved," Eve said sarcastically.

"Destroy them all!" Stan yelled while his fangs appear. All the vampires zoom toward the Fellowship members, ready to kill them.

"Bill, Eric stop them!" Sookie shouted.

The scene before them was getting horrific to watch when Godric appeared on the balcony, "Enough!" All the vampires did just that. "You came for me I assume. Underling?" Godric asked.

"Yes, Sheriff," Stan answered like a scolded child.

"These people have not harmed me. We can coexist. Mr. Newlin, I do not wish to create bloodshed when none is called for. Help me set an example. If we leave you in peace, will you do the same?" Godric asked him.

"I will not negotiate with sub-humans!" Steve said, getting on his knees at Eric's feet, "Kill me. Jesus will protect me."

Eve couldn't help but roll her eyes. He had some nerve to pull the 'Jesus card'.

"I am actually older than your Jesus. I wish I could have known him, but I missed it," Godric said before disappearing from the balcony and reappearing behind Steve. He then proceeded to grab the man and held him out for everyone to see, "Good people, who of you is willing to die for this man's madness?" Nobody moved or said anything. "That's what I thought. Stand down, everyone. People, go home. It's over now," he said before releasing the man.

"Please don't leave me," Steve begged as people began to leave.

"I would seriously stop while you're ahead," Eve told him, "Its rather pathetic."

"You know what's more pathetic?" Steve asked from his spot, "Opening your legs for these monsters."

"How dare you speak to her that way!" Eric shouted about ready to bounce.

"Child," Godric said, "That's enough."

Eve stepped up to Steve and watched as he gave her a dirty look. She then took a swing at him, punching him right in the nose. Steve doubled over in serious pain. She glanced at Godric, who gave her a little disappointing look.

"I feel loads better now," she said, looking at Eric, "Can we go now?"

"Yes," Godric answered, "We should go."

"Sir, after what these humans have done to you," Stan said.

"We are leaving," Godric said once again, leading the way toward the exit.

Eric took Eve's hand and followed his maker. Once outside, a chill goes through her as they walk toward the SUVs. Eric slips off his leather jacket and helps her into it.

"Evelyn," Godric said, looking at her.

She walks to him and stands before him. He doesn't say anything as she leans in to give the vampire a hug. He doesn't move for a second before bring one hand to her back.
