Chapter 36
Megatron's POV
I walked on the edge of a tall building in the heart of the city, towards Sentinel. "The city's secure, the humans cannot stop us."
"As the afternoon falls, the rest of the pillars will reach their launch position," Sentinel said meeting me half way.
"This is the victory I promised you so may years ago where we rebuild Cybertron, together," I said thinking that I had more than an ally in this. Suddenly I found myself being pushed into the side of the building, a servo wrapping around my face.
"I have gained to work with you, that my planet may survive. I will never work for you, and you would be wise to remember the difference," Sentinel said removing a piece of my face that had finally healed from the battle in Eygpt.
Sam's POV
I was now in the penthouse where Carly was. I could hear Dylan, her boss talking as he opened the fridge, "Oh, I'm so sick of this. I'm sick of waiting." I was nervous but I was going to do this. Bee was waiting just below if I needed help.
I came out from behind the counter with the gun raised, "Where is she? Where is she?"
"You've got some balls," Dylan said taking a bite from an apple. The flat screen on the wall transformed into a bird like decepticon and picked me up with its feet and I fired a shot as I was dragged to the balcony and thrown off. I could hear Carly screaming.
"No, Sam! No!" She was near tears.
Bee raised the ship up so I could see her. "Carly! Carly!" I yelled over the engine as Dylan tried to pull her out of the kitchen. She ran toward me, freeing herself from the hands that held her. "Jump!" She leapt into my arms, clearing the balcony. Bee fired into the penthouse, causing the people inside to run for cover.
She got in with Bee as I stayed on the outside of the ship. The bird con followed us and I wrestled with him as the ship was fired on from the other ships. The ship started to spin out of control, "Bee fire," I called as I got the Decepticon's head lined up with a gun. Bee fired and behead him. I clung to the long rod of the canon as the ship went down.
Megatron's POV
I heard the human insect that was working for us cry out, "Auto bots, they're alive, they're here, Auto bots."
"Decepticons defend the pillar, release the bridges! Find them!" I ordered hitting the side of the building.
Allison's POV
I saw the ship Sam was in crash and ran towards it. "Sam, you found me," I heard Carly say as she hugged him. Sam returned the gesture.
"I'd find you anywhere," Sam replied. That was romantic but now was not the time.
I heard Epps yell, "Well you're crazy," as he hugged Sam. Sam gave him a quick embrace.
Sam then turned his attention to something on the ground that I recognized as a drone. "What is that, is that us?" Sam asked pointed.
"Yes it is," I said moving towards.
"It's a military UAV drone, check to see if it's still working," Epps said. I approached it, looking it over.
"Yeah, it's still got power," I said as Epps came to stand beside me.
"Flight control, do you copy? Can you rotate? Can you do something?" Epps asked as he cleared off the screen. I knew Lennox was watching from a base somewhere in D.C. He would bring the rain, the government's orders be damned. His friends were down here. "Do something. Come on man work, work. Can you rotate, something." The camera head on the drone moved. "Yes, Yes. Okay they can see us."
Sam moved in front of the camera, "Chicago is ground zero, you understand? You hear us, understand?" Sam asked.
Carly moved in front of the camera to speak. "The Sentinel prime is here and he has components for his space bridge. They're on top of a building on the Chicago river. The control pillar that controls everything is in the southeast cupola. You gotta shoot the pillar, you have to shoot down that pillar. If you don't they're going to transport Cybertron here, you understand?" We had delivered the message to Lennox, now we just had to hold the Decepticons off long enough for Lennox to get here.
