Wait... what?! Yes! This is the alternate ending, the challenge is almost exactly the same, the only difference being the winner. I do want to say that this ending will be considered NON-CANON, meaning Michael is still technically the winner. This chapter is just here to show what would happen if Astrid won. Basically these alternate endings will be a big "what-if" scenario. Anyway, enough stalling, enjoy the alternate ending.

Astrid and Michael raced to the next part of the race, they took the path through the caves. Hayden saw them go inside the caves and followed them, Michiko went in after Hayden. Since the caves are a natural maze, Michael and Astrid ended up at dead ends several times, Hayden however, found the exit rather quickly, as he was about to exit the caves,l he noticed a cage on the ceiling. This cage gave him an idea, he was originally going to try and find some way to block the exit of the cave and trap the two inside, but this was much better in his opinion, less heavy lifting for him.

The finalists eventually found the right path and were just about to exit the caves, at that moment, Hayden activated the trap, letting the cage fall on the two. Michael jumped out of the way as fast as he could, Astrid however, was not so lucky. She ended up trapped In the cage, Hayden ran away as fast as he could, Michiko (who's eyes have gone red at this point) followed him.

The interns saw Hayden drop the cage, they looked furious.

"You know what, that's it, I'm stepping in there and I don't give a flying f*** What Chris says!" Ciana stated, the others didn't try to stop her, somehow they knew that it would be futile.

Ciana stepped outside and saw Chris standing outside of their cabin.

"McLean, are you just gonna let Hayden cheat like this?!" Ciana hissed.

"Easy Ciana, Astrid can break that cage easily. Besides, I need you at the finish line, pronto!" Chris answered.

Ciana felt like giving Chris a nice punch to the face but Sapphire held her back. They all headed for the cliffs without any further conflict.

AAstrid tried breaking out of the cave but nothing appeared to be working, at least in her view. Michael was about to help Astrid out, but he saw that Astrid was actually starting to break out of the cage, which was made out of bamboo. Seeing this as a chance to get ahead, Michael made a break for the exit.

"Hey where ya' goin'?!" Astrid called out. "You cheater! Ugh!"

With one last kick to the bars of the cage, Astrid broke out of her prison and ran after Michael.

Later, the finalists were almost at the finish line. Michael was in the lead, but only by a small margin. Everyone (except Hayden, who was locked in the outhouse at this point) cheered them on.

The two were exhausted from their challenge, Michael kept running. A groundhog sprouted right into the path Michael was running in. It turned and saw Michael running towards it, the groundhog went back into the ground as fast as it could. Michael ran into the hole the groundhog made and twisted his ankle, giving Astrid just enough time she needed to get ahead of him and reach the finish line.

Everyone cheered and applauded Astrid for her victory. Kristen, Luis and Dutch helped Michael up, Kristen even gave him a sweet kiss on the lips! Dutch helped Michael over to Astrid and the two finalists shared a friendly high-five!

And that's the alternate ending. Sorry if it seems a little short but everything else about the challenge would be exactly the same, the only difference would be of course, the winner. But even after the alternate ending, this story is STILL not over! But what else could there be?
