"I have the most important question anyone would ever ask you in your whole life."
"And what might that be?" Klaus ask with a smile.
"What are we going to name our baby girl?"
"Well, love, don't you think it's too soon to be worrying about that?" Klaus asked picking up his drink to take a sip.
"No! Klaus, we had sex 2 weeks ago, and within those to weeks the baby already develop enough for to tell it's a girl who knows when I will start showing, or when I might actually pop her out!" Caroline exclaimed rolling over the rest her head on his chest. The water went to chin and she played with the bubbles while he began to talk.
"Well I think you are already showing that, or you should lay off the pickles and ice cream." Caroline gasped and flashed out the shower going to the mirror checking out her stomach that has grown, but not enough to tell she was pregnant, or let alone be called fat!"
"You are such an ass." Caroline said angrily as he laughed. She grabbed her silk robe and tied it around her tightly stomping downstairs.
"Love, come on it's a joke." Klaus said still laughing as he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist before flashing out to follow her.
Klaus saw Rebekah walking out the Kitchen shaking her head at him with anger. When they were face to face she pushed him hard whispering. "You never call a girl fat, especially not a pregnant girl! Playing or not it makes us want to eat our emotions away!" Klaus eyes glanced back towards the kitchen afraid to walk in to see what Caroline was doing. "Go see what you've created." Rebekah bumped his shoulder walking back to Stefan who was resting on the sofa trying to deal with Damon's death.
When Klaus walked in the kitchen Caroline was crying at the table with a bow of ice cream and a cup of Pickle juice. Before Klaus could say anything Caroline said:
"The baby and I were hungry for ice cream and pickle juice, so if your going to judge me just leave." She picked the cup up and take a big swing finishing it all in one gulp.
"Sweetheart, I was just teasing, come on, love, show me a smile."
Caroline shook her head and Klaus sighed. "Show me a smiled, Caroline." He whispered resting his head on the side of her head and rubbed his hand up and down her arm. "Just one smile." Caroline looked at him and slowly began to smile.
"Why can't I stay mad at you?" She asked truly wondering why. "Because you love me." Caroline rolled her eyes and shook her head about to take a spoon full of I've cream in her mouth, but Klaus lifted her up in his arms carrying her upstairs.
"Klaus, what are you doing?" Caroline laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"There is a bed calling our name, let's go make use to it." Caroline laughed and pressed her lips to his.
"I hope you mean as in sleeping." Klaus rolled his eyes and flashed up the stairs.
_
Caroline was sitting on the couch while Klaus laid down with his head resting on her thighs. His hand rubbed gently on the baby bump. In 2-3 weeks she would he here.
Their baby would be brought into this world being the most important thing in their lives.
She would be a girl who Caroline could dress up, and help make Miss Mystic Falls on day. Caroline never told anyone, but she hoped her baby will be a fool-that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool. A fool in love.
As for Klaus, this little girl would be his world. She will have him wrapped around her little finger, and make herself the center of his whole world. To Klaus, his daughter will be like a flower. She will be beautiful and one of a kind, she will draw the attention of the best, and get picked by the sweetest and most caring, but also flowers are so beautiful everyone would want to get a piece of her. Even pests. They will try to make their ways towards her, to hurt her, to destroy her, but Klaus will never let anyone hurt her. He would kill anyone who even thinks about hurting his baby.
"The baby just kicked me." Klaus said, his voice showed that he was just asleep. Caroline loved moments like this, the big bad hybrid being nice and sweet. He was so gently with her, he was one of the one good ones. He made her feel special like no one has ever done. Not that bastard Tyler, or even Matt for that matter. Klaus was drumming his fingers on her over grown belly really to pop in a week or so, while she played with his blonde curly hair.
Caroline recalled seeing him for the first time at the school. He just turn Tyler and she was so scared of him. She wanted to stop him, but she would get killed if she tried. She watched as Tyler fell on the ground crying in pain as Rebekah held her down smiling along with Klaus. She hated him so much. She wanted to kill him as Rebekah they day, but now her she is laying down with him ready to give birth to his child. She killed her best friend she once would give her life for, and she hates Tyler more than anything, oh the irony.
She looked down at Klaus who had a manic grin plastered on his face. "What?" Caroline couldn't help but laugh, she watched him sit up and grab her hand.
"Our baby is so violent, she kicked me."
Caroline laughed and rubbed her hand over he stomach. "She gets it from you."
Klaus mocked as if he were hurt and held his hand to his chest. "Sweetheart, it is you that I am always trying to get to work on temper." Caroline playfully hit his arm and stuck out her tongue.
"As if you could ever control me." She teased.
"Ooooo and she is untamable, what will I do with you."
"I can think of a few things." Caroline smiled and leaned into his soft red lips.
_
The week by quickly, they baby could come at any moment now, and it would he am understatement to say Caroline was scared. Just the though of a baby coming out her, ripping her open. She sigh and squeezed her legs shit from the thought. Her hand rested on the big bump and the other pushed on her back for more support. She felt like a penguin, her long legs wobbling every time she took a step. "Klaus." She called out from the room.
"Yes, Love."
"What will her future be like?"
"What?"
Caroline turn to face him. "What will her future be like?"
"What do you mean? It will be happy, with two parents that love her."
"Klaus, millions of people would love to see you dead, and hurt you. What if they try to hurt the baby?" Caroline asked with tears in her eyes. "Just because her parents are immortal doesn't mean she will be. Yes she will be power full, but a simple stake to the heart could kill her."
"No one would come near her." Klaus spoke with anger. Just the thought of anyone touching his baby girl made him want to kill every single last person in his past.
"Can you promise that, can you promise to keep her safe, I mean just look what Esther did to me, she had me sent to the past, and you couldn't do anything to stop it."
"So what are you say, I can't protect you and the baby?" Klaus asked with a bitter tone, all his anger was how turn towards her. "I am more well than capable then to take care of our child."
"God! I didn't mean it like that."
"Then what do you mean because now it sure as hell does seem that way."
"What I meant was, when Esther sent me back in time, you couldn't do anything to stop it, what's to say we can't protect her if a time like that comes?"
"But a time like that won't come, no one will hurt her."
"But what if?" Caroline pressed.
Before Klaus could stop himself he roughly grabbed Caroline by the shoulders and shook her. "It will never happen so just drop it." Klaus screamed, his anger was through the roof and his hybrid eyes flashed gold.
Caroline stayed still in his arms afraid of what he might do. Her breathing was heavy and the first time in a long time, she feared of the man she loved, she feared of the man who impregnated her with a baby girl who could come any day now.
Klaus blinked a few times and saw the fear in her eyes. He wanted to say sorry, but when he opened his mouth nothing came out. Tears moist her eyes and Klaus felt nothing but regret.
Caroline looked away from his glaze and down to the floor. "Let me go." She whispered, Klaus shook his head and let his tight release go, but never her.
"Caroline-
"I said let me go." She grunted through her teeth. She began to fight his grip till he finally released her.
"Love, I didn't mean it."
"I know." She whispered tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I need to time alone." She reached for her jacket and began to walk towards the door.
"Sweetheart." No answer. "Love." Nothing. "Please answer me."
"Answer you? I can't even look at you. You hurt me, Klaus. You forget that no matter how much power I have, strength and muscle wise you will always be strong than me. You hurt me because I just wanted to make sure out daughter would he safe."
"No! I hurt you because you doubt I can protect this family."
"But, never the less you hurt me. But that's not even the thing that hurts the most. What hurts the most is that out of everyone in this world I thought I was the only person who you wouldn't dare lay a hand on."
"I didn't want to hurt you."
"YOU FLASHED YOU HYBRID EYES AT ME, AND YOU DIDNT WANT TO HURT ME?" She yelled from the door. Klaus opened his mouth, but before he could say anything Caroline leaned back against the door and healed the front of her stomach. She let out a scream and leaned forward. Klaus flashed towards her and grabbed her hand.
"What's wrong?" Klaus panicked.
"The baby." She whispered looking at him with tears in her eyes. "The baby is coming." Klaus looked down and wetness on the ground.
"No. No. No. I'm not ready, Klaus, I'm not ready." She gripped his shoulder and began to cry.
"But our little girl is." Klaus whispered. He put an arm under Caroline's knees and carefully lifted her up.
"Elijah!" Klaus yelled carefully walking down the stairs.
"Why are you calling Elijah?" Caroline moaned in pain holding her stomach.
"Because he is the only one of us that bother to learn how to deliver a child."
"What? No! I don't want Elijah to see me, where's Rebekah? Can't she do it?" Caroline begged pulling on his sleeve.
"Do you think I want Elijah to see you? No that is for my eyes only, but frankly Rebekah is to here at the moment."
"Ahhhh." Caroline yelled feeling the contractions.
"I want her out!" Caroline yelled in pain. Elijah came running out the living room and saw Klaus with Caroline. "Get her out."
"Caroline, I need you to calm down." Elijah said, walking beside his brother. Caroline reached over and gripped his tie with a tight fist pulling him forward.
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down when I have a baby trying to rip a hole in me and come out." Klaus carefully pulled her hand away and walked towards the door to his bedroom.
He carefully placed her in the bed and watched as Elijah took off her coat and tie. He cuffed up his sleeves and up bottom the first few buttons to his shirt. "Niklaus, go get a fluffy towel, and a bowl of water with a wet rag."
Caroline let out another scream and gripped on to Klaus's arm. "No Klaus, don't you dare leave."
"Caroline, he has to go get the things, meanwhile I need you to push," Caroline closed her eyes and rapid nodded. She bit down on her lip and began to push. Klaus took the time to quickly grab the things Elijah's listed. He was rushing back to the room when he saw the front door began to open.
"I'm home, where's my welcome party." Rebekah laughed walking in hand in hand with Stefan. "Rebekah, thank god you're here." Klaus cried, he ran to his sister and grabbed her hand.
"What's going on?" She asked as Klaus dragged her to his room with Stefan following behind.
"It seems as our little girl is ready to come out her mother." Rebekah gasped and began to walk faster. When they stood outside the door they could her Caroline's cries.
"Caroline, push."
"I trying." Caroline whimpered. "I want Klaus, I need Klaus." She begged.
With that he quickly flashed I the room and handed Elijah the things. He walked over to Caroline and dabbed her forehead with a wet cloth. "You're doing fine, sweet pea."
"Come on Caroline, push." Rebekah encourage. She carefully took Elijah's spot and looked down to see how far she has gotten. "Okay Care, from the looks of it you need more good pushes."
Caroline nodded and pushed hard squeezing Klaus's hand. "She's coming." Caroline panted. "We're going to be parents."
Klaus looked down at her and pressed his lips to hers. "Yeah, we are."
10 minutes later
Klaus watched as Caroline gave 2 last pushed. She screamed at the last push and for Klaus the room around him fell silent. He looked to Caroline and saw her chest heaving up and down. Her head was laid back on the pillow and a smile spread across her face. Her eyes closed and her heart beat slow began to become normal. Rebekah held the baby up and slowly looked to Klaus and Caroline.
"You have a beautiful healthy baby girl." Caroline chuckled and looked up at Klaus.
"Can I hold her?" Caroline asked, she was so nervous. After becoming a vampire she though she would never have the chance to have a family, but now she does.
"Of course." Rebekah laughed putting the baby in Caroline's arms.
She was wrapped in a fluffy pink blanket, and had her hand to her mouth. The baby was asleep, her little nose would wiggle once in a while. "We did it, we made a baby." Caroline laughed with tears in her eyes.
"What are you going to name her?" Rebekah asked shyly.
Caroline and Klaus's eyes met. "Soraya."
"That's a beautiful name." Rebekah smiled. She walked towards the bed. "I need to clean up Soraya." Caroline nodded and reluctantly handed her back. When Rebekah left the room Caroline stared out the window and felt the bed sink for where Klaus sat on the bed beside her.
"Look at me." He whispered pressing his forehead to the side of her face.
"You scared me so much today." She whispered turning her head slightly to face him.
"I would never hurt you, you know that."
"Well then, I didn't know what to think." Caroline said, her voice we soft and she reached up to dry a tear. She turned her head to the side and she grabbed his hand softly. "I know you would never hurt me, on purpose, or the Soraya, but I've never seen you so mad with me, I..." Caroline took a pause and looked right into his eyes. "I didn't want you to feel like you can't protect us because I know you can, I wanted to make sure would could protect her at all times. From anyone the wishes harm on this family."
"I understand Love, and none of my enemies would come in a 100 mile radius of her. I promise." Caroline smiled and leaned into his lips.
"Needless to I just had a baby, and I'm tired so I will see you when I wake."
"Okay sweetheart, just some rest, we'll handle Soraya." Caroline thanked him and sank down into the pillow. She pulled the covers up and closed her eyes. Klaus turned off the light and closed the door, wishing his love a goodnight one last time.
Klaus walked to Rebekah's room and watched as she put a punk jumper on his baby girl. He heart clenched seeing Rebekah smile at her with tears in her eyes. "I always wanted a baby girl." Rebekah confessed to Soraya while she finished getting her dressed. "A family, to love, and to love me back."
Rebekah knew Soraya couldn't understand, but something about talking to the baby felt right. "I never thought I would have that." Rebekah wrapped a blanket around her and gently lifted her up in her arms. "But here you are, my own little niece." Soraya lifted her hand to the pacifier moved around as Rebekah talked to her. "I'm going to let you in on a little secret, your father is one of the most nicest, honest, and loving person I know. He may cover it up with rage and power, but like I said, it's all a cover. You my sweet dear niece along with your mother will be the reason for his existence because without y'all he would just be a man trying to find his place in the world."
Klaus cleared his throat and Rebekah quickly turned around. "Klaus, how long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough." Klaus simply said, he walked over and took his baby sister into his arms. "I love you, Bekah." She bit her lip and smile holding back the tears.
"I love you too, brother." When Klaus released her, he looked down at his daughter.
"May I...uh hold her?"
"Klaus, she is your child, you don't need to ask." Rebekah laughed handing him Soraya.
Rebekah left the room leaving Klaus alone with the Soraya. He smiled filling the whole world in his hands.
Caroline Sleep peacefully in bed with a smile on her face. In her dream she was holding Soraya in his arms and Klaus was holding her. She leaned against his chest and kissed his lips softly.
"Caroline." A whispered came from her left making her turn, but nothing was there.
"Caroline." The whispered came from her right, but still there was nothing.
"Caroline. Caroline. Caroline." The whispers got louder and she spun around rapid.
"Klaus." She called out, but there was no answer. She looked down and saw Soraya was gone.
"Klaus! Soraya!" She screamed running around the white room searching for them.
"Caroline." A female British accent called out to her, making Caroline freeze in her spot. She slowly turn and saw the one woman she never wanted to see again.
"Esther."
So I know what you're think, like what kind of ending is that, but obviously it isn't an ending and it gives the story more time to grow. I love this story so I decide to keep writing it.
