Story Summary so far
While I still suggest reading the chapters for all the character interaction, Shep/Alenko drama here is a summary of events in story as we drove away from cannon.
Paragon Colonist War hero Shepard
To date the only OC I have are
Plava: A commando who was on her initiation to the Justicars when she decided to remain on Omega. Extremely powerful biotic who becomes on of Samara's most trusted instructors. May also have unrequited feelings for Kaidan
Sar: Young asari who is more into tech and hacking than biotics. Tali takes her under her wing, she is angry and impulsive and seems to resent Plava's consant need to look after her. Also created a device that can disrupt biotics causing the user extreme pain that she used on Plava.
Story begins after the fall of Thessia in Kaidan's POV. Despite saying that they want to rekindle their relationship at Apollo Shepard has been distant and Kaidan wonders how much Shepard really had changed since her return to life at the hands of Cerberus.
This is made all the more difficult at the rumors going around that Shepard and Vega are spending a little too much time together in the shuttle bay, or the nagging suspicion that Shepard is grieving a little too much for her fallen comrade Thane for it to have been a strictly work relationship.
Things finally come to a head when Kaidan learns that there things about Shepard's past that she never told him, even in their brief time together. In a heated argument Shepard accuses Kaidan of being in love with the legend of Shepard and not really her, not since she came back anyway.
Since the fall of Thessia things are not going well for the Alliance and Shepard comes up with a crazy plan that she and Liara will propose to Tevos at the Citadel. Kaidan offers to take a share of Shepard's responsibilities and she acquiesces reluctantly. Her plan is to create a training facility for refugee biotics fleeing the reapers in what is left of Lesus, the former Ardat-Yakshi monastery since it is unlikely the reapers will bother with an already destroyed planet.
While enroute to the Citadel Kaidan bugs Shepard's terminal and discovers some information about Shepard's past that she prefers not to have known. After the slaughter on Mindoir Shepard apparently being too young to enlist lived on Omega before being recruited by none other than David Anderson. Fearing that this would prevent her from joining the Alliance, Anderson had her records wiped by Kahlee Sanders changing her information to that of her deceased brother. A secret life that Shepard had never told Kaidan about.
Tevos is reluctant to agree to the training facility and offers a counteroffer of putting Kaidan in command of a remaining crew of Asari commandos. Surprising Shepard Kaidan declines and says they need strong independent biotics not a moving target for the Reapers. Before leaving the Citadel they also met up with some old friends for various reasons (Samara, Kahlee Sanders, Parasini and Bailey). Kaidan also surprises Shepard by getting a holo image of her father as a gift.
Kaidan and Shepard begin to fix their relationship when Kaidan realizes what Shepard had been hiding all this time was not a former relationship with Thane or a relationship with Vega but severe PTSD and nightmares that were pushing her to her breaking point. Shepard shows her trust by allowing Kaidan to accompany him to her meeting with Aria. Samara joins the crew on their way to the new outpost as well as two stowaways courtesy of Shepard's former employer Aria T'loak.
On their way to the new colony the Normandy discovers two stowaways, Asari who work for Aria and are looking for payback for the loss of Omega. Both Shepard and Samara are suspicious and keep the two in the brig until they arrive . Once they arrive and being to set up the colony Shepard admits the cost of getting the pirate queens help, she must help her old boss take back the station alone while Kaidan takes over control of the training with Samara, her daughter and various other contacts made throughout Shepard's connections.
Refugees begin to make their way to the school and the two asari begin to show their merit and actual desire to help the project succeed not just act as spies for the pirate queen. Samara also reveals that one of the asari Plava was once on track to become a Justicar but for reasons unknown decided to remain on Omega instead. The other a girl Shar becomes close with Tali admits that she has bugs that are still feeding them information on the situation on Omega which they use to keep tabs on Shepard's progress. She had hoped to get back in Aria's good graces with the intel but Plava seems to think this is a bad plan for reasons she does not disclose but the friction between the two asari is mounting.
Several days pass with no word from Shepard and Kaidan is growing more anxious. He buries himself in his work and begins to see why Shepard became so driven during her time with Cerebrus, it is just easier. Garrus and Tali are coordinating with their respective governments and communications with Alliance is restored through the unlikely source of Omega. Shar picks up a very uncharastic vid of Aria swearing she will protect the people of Omega and Plava seems genuinely surprised by the compassion shown by the Pirate Queen, no doubt a reflection of her time spent with Shepard.
Shar is able to pick up some chatter and with the help of Traynor and EDI determine to be a shuttle that was hijacked and leading the remaining Cerberus away from Omega. They all decide it is most likely Shepard who fearing for the safety of the fledgling outpost had not contacted them directly. While they are cleaning up the intel Cortez tells them that the ship they are in is not designed for the type of hero style of goose chase through Reaper infested territories and it would fail if they continued to use it for FTD, effectively Shepard was running out of time fast.
The techies come up with a plan to get a message to Shepard and the colony braces for its first real test. Bringing Commander Shepard home.
And a big thank you to the nameless Guest who suggested the idea of a summary. It was probably as helpful to me as it will be to you! If I am missing anything glaring let me know. What has been your favorites so far?
Cheers Raven
