Ch 57 The Calm Storm
Adora suddenly awoke in bed to the sound of thunder loudly striking. With pain her stomach area, she managed to sit up in bed. At the foot of her bed, she saw that AJ was sitting in a chair fast asleep. "AJ, wake up." She said. Just then, the events of the zoo and how she became wounded came back to her. "Don't wake him up." Said a female voice. Adora turned to see that it was Gia. "What happened Gia?" Asked Adora. "The penguins and AJ saved your life by stopping the bleeding from your wound." Replied Gia.
"How long was I asleep?" Questioned Adora. "A day. AJ fell asleep a few hours ago finally. We both know that he has not slept since we left Europe over half a week ago. How he kept going this long without sleeping I do not know." Replied Gia.
A few hours later
AJ finally woke up and immediately went to work in the lab by himself. Despite her injuries and the strong storm outside, Adora walked into the cart with AJ. She saw that AJ was building what robotic components that he was trying to assemble. AJ looked up to see Adora. "Adora, what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to make sure zat you do not blame yourself for hurting me. You know zat zit was my fault." Assured Adora.
"I know, the penguins told me what really happened. However it doesn't change the fact that I could have killed you. You know that I love you Adora and I don't want to hurt you." Said AJ looking Adora in her golden eyes as he took her paw.
"I love you too mon amour. You know zat you would never hurt me." Replied Adora smiling.
AJ was about to say something more when he heard something. When Adora saw AJ's eyes widen and his eyes perk up she asked. "What is wrong AJ?" "She found the train. Dubois is chasing the train and is getting close."
