After harry heard those words he leapt for joy his wish came true he yelled for his mother.

Harry turned unable to find the need to answer her, because frankly, he would have to renounce any titles that he would had anyway.

As his mother came out to the yard and saw the Companion with her son, she was both overjoyed and saddened by the sight.

Morgan nuzzled her new Chosen possessively, eying the Lady of the House daring her to try to separate them.

The Lady just bowed her head and turned to her son. "Harry, I'm glad for you but I will miss you."

"You're saying that like I'm going to gallop off into the sunset and never come home for breaks," Harry responded, Morgan gave him a shove toward the woman who raised her Chosen. Harry got the idea went to hug his foster mother.

They both embraced and held each other for what seem like hours. "Well then we need to tell your father and pack up your things for the travel."

Harry nodded, and looked back at his Companion, He felt like shivering at thought.

Morgan shook her forelock at him; she was not going anywhere.

They both entered the manor looking for lord Jehan to tell him what has happened.

They found him in the chapel where he was sitting in prayer. He looked up as he heard the sound of someone walking.

"Angelina, what seem to the matter and why is harry not at his lessons?" Jehan asked

"He will be taking a different sort of lessons." Angelina answered "As a Heraldic Trainee."

Jehan looked to his adopted son and saw his smile he sat down in shock and just shook his head. "Not since the olden days has there been a Herald in our family."

"Since Vanyel, there is an Ashkevron in the guard and a forester, but not a Herald. Let's just hope, I do not share his fate." Harry recalled

"I'm sure you won't just trust yourself and your companion." Jehan smiled as he embraced his son.

Before he could leave to pack a traveling pack, the servants did so for him, and bag of cheese and bread to hold him over until he could reach a village to restock.

He gave his family one last hug and mounted his companion and head off to the village and to haven afterwards.

Morgan felt complete now, that she had her Chosen. She moved into a canter, hooves chiming and bridle bells singing, drawing attention to them.

Harry just chuckled and smiled more "You're nothing but a show off, aren't you, silly mare." As he patted her neck.

: Who me? : Morgan asked innocently.

"Yes you nobody else I'm talking to." He answered back.

: You do not have to talk aloud for me to hear you: Morgan replied, as she weaved her way through traffic.

: Oh sorry, this is somewhat new to me and I just excited about all this: Harry replied thinking his answer instead of speaking with his voice.

: Perfectly acceptable: Morgan stated.

They continued to banter with each other as they made their way to Harry's new home for the next few years.

"Newly Chosen, huh?" asked a farmer on top of his cart.

Harry nodded his head beaming with joy. "We're on our way to Haven. This is the best day ever."

"Here." The farmer stated as he tossed two apples at the boy.

Harry caught the apples, gave his thanks, and was reaching for his coin purse to pay for the apples. The farmer raised his hand, "Don't worry about it call it a small gift for a new Trainee."

: He may need you someday to stop bandits or to settle a quarrel: Morgan supplied. : I would like some of that, please:

He cut the apple into quarters and passed them over to Morgan as they both ate and continued down the road.

Harry wasn't used being so alone, he was aware that he was only a ten year old boy, of course, he was more mature than half the children his age, because he had been taking care of the family's horses, since he could toddle.

Over the next few days, they slowly made their way to Haven and the Herald's Collegium.

On the last day of their journey, a guard stopped them. "This would be Morgan," he confirmed checking the saddle.

Morgan lipped the booted foot of the officer in affection, before standing still.

The guard assisted Harry down from the saddle, as a livered servant came to get Morgan and take her back to the stable. Harry had just wanted to take her and leave, but knew he could not.

Another guard came and escorted Harry to the palace/ Collegium, where Dean Teren was waiting for him.

The dean slowly raised his head and looked at the newly chosen" welcome youngling, have a seat and we'll get you settled to being a trainee." He chuckled at Harry.

Harry sat down in the chair and looked at the Herald. The only Heralds, he had seen in person was Herald Elspeth and Herald Skif and they didn't stay long at the manor.

"What's wrong youngling you at like your getting ready to see the Queen or something. " his smile was infectious and Harry soon found himself smiling as well.

"My family is nobly born, sir." Harry answered, "I'm Harry Ashkevron."

The dean sat back thinking "Ashkevron, yes, I remember the name you're the first Heraldic trainee we had he since Vanyel I I recall correctly."

"Yes, sir." Harry confirmed, before grinning. "You know the saying about my family, if one of us doesn't blend in well, we run away to haven." Then he added for an afterthought, "Or being Chosen before getting the courage to run away."

"Well yes but since your here and chosen let see about getting you a mentor and fitted for your grays." Teren replied, and then began questioning the newest Chosen to his academic knowledge. His self-defense was not great, but there was time for that, this boy looked to be about ten or eleven years of age. His knowledge of equine uses was amazing but that came with being from the Ashkevron family. Other than that, he was just above average with the rest of the youngsters.

A knock on the door signaled, and a male in Grays appeared.

"You wanted to see me, Dean?" a cheerful voice asked.

"Yes, Jerome; we have a new trainee here, I want you to get him fitted for grays and shown to his dorm room." the dean requested.

"Yes, sir." Jerome agreed, and then looked at the newest addition to the ranks. "Welcome, and Basic with Dirk tomorrow?"

Harry heard of herald Dirk and gave a small gulp as he followed trainee Jerome down the halls.

"We're on the girls' side right now, so your room won't be here." Jerome winked, and grinned while Harry blushed.

The older Trainee led the way to the boys' side, explaining basic rules about being in the Collegium.

Harry took in the rules and tried to remember where his room was. Jerome slipped a card into the holder with Harry's name on it.

Harry laid down on his bed and thought of Morgan. : This is crazy i hope i can live up to your exceptions for me as a herald:

: Do you doubt me?: Morgan asked

: You never but im just worried that is all: Harry let out a deep sigh

: Then trust my judgment if you cannot your own: Morgan replied,

Jerome cleared his throat, "As much as I enjoy leisure as well, but we have things to do."

"Yes sir" Harry popped and followed him once more down the halls heading towards to the Housekeeper to get for his first set of grays.

The Housekeeper gave the list of rules about bathing, and changing after arms practice or working with his Companion. The Housekeeper gave Jerome and Harry a set of each of bundles of clothing; summer and winter wear each. Then set him up for chores.

Harry found himself working the kitchen and dish washing and he began the getting himself settled in and getting cleaned up for bed.

"You must be the new one?" a voice asked from the steam of the bath as Harry took his turn at the water pump.

"Yes, I just got here the names Harry and you are?" he asked as he started to scrub himself.

"Kris." The one from the steam answered

"Nice to meet you, Kris, so how long have you been here?" Harry questioned

Kris got out of the tub, "You can have mine," he wrapped the towel around himself after wiping down the tub. "Partnered with a Companion or not?"

"Both if you're willing to tell me, of course." Harry answered filling the bathtub then getting into it.

"I've been living on the grounds all my life." Kris replied

"Oh come on, you're going to keep that youngling up all night with your cryptic answers," another Trainee taunted.

"What mean Jacob I'm Just answering his question that's all." Kris yelled back

"Calm down, brother. We don't want Herald Talia to come in here or worse your sisters." Jacob answered. "I meant you're being cryptic with not telling the youngling your rank, your highness."

Harry dropped his scrub brush in shock and stared at the young prince.

"Jacob, now why did you have to tell him, I was trying not to spook him too soon." Kris questioned shaking his blonde hair out of his face.

"Don't worry, youngling, Kris isn't a snob like the other 'gently-born' tends to be. I told him, because he would have found out anyway, it's not a secret that Prince Kris and Trainee Kris are the same person." Jacob explained he finished putting on his sleeping robe.

Harry just shook his head as he tried to restart his brain and finished his bath. He stood up got dressed and bowed himself out of the bathroom and made his way back to his room.

Kris turned to Jacob, "Wait to weapons practice, I'm going to use you as practice dummy," he finished dressing and left to his room.

Jacob just smiled and shook his head "Why you haven't beaten me yet so i got nothing to worry about." he teased as he left the room with the prince.

"That's it; I'm going to get your Companion to give you a good lecture or just ask Herald Jeri to favor you with some Master Alberich style lessons." Kris growled

Jacob froze and paled at those words "You wouldn't dare I don't think I warrant that much torture do I, Kris?"

"I am only the Prince in the palace not the Collegium." Kris replied as he opened the door to his room. "You best remember that." he shut the door and bolted it.

Harry lay in his bed, thinking about what he just found out.

: You should sleep: Morgan stated sleepily, she was already in her warm stall.

Jacob made his way back to his room as well as he walked down the hall, he passed by Harry's room. He stopped and knocked on his door.

Harry got up and opened the door.

Jacob stood at the door a somber expression on his face. "Harry, look I didn't mean to freak you out there in the bath, i was just teasing Kris mostly."

Harry nods, "I just...I never saw a Royal up close before."

"Don't worry Kris isn't like that he just tries to be as normal trainee here the only time he even acts royal is the days he has to go to court most other times he just trainee Kris." Jacob explained placing his hand on Harry's shoulder.

Harry nods, "Okay."

Jacob's eyes unfocused "And I'm being ordered to bed. I'll see you around, welcome."

Harry shut the door, bolted it, and went to his own bed.
