Harry bowed his head and when he looked up once more, he could not help but lock his eyes on Corina and a blush crossed his face.

Corina smiled attentively, but then her attention went back to Herald Dirk, Harry went to the seat that was empty.

All through the class, his mind kept going back to Corina and how pretty she was. : See something you like: Morgan teased

: Jealous?: Harry questioned.

Herald Dirk noticed that look from two of his students; he asked a question involving about what Heralds did for the Kingdom, only the person that the question was directed too wasn't paying attention.

Harry felt something hit the back of his head.

"As I was saying, pay attention. This class teaches you what it means to be a Herald. Not the tales the common folk come up with about us." Dirk continued he went onto explain more about what it means to be a Herald, from settling quarrels to acting as a war leader in case of an emergency.

Harry snap up and paid attention to Dirk but I n the back of his mind he heard Morgan laughing at him.

"Herald Dirk?" Corina asked her blue eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I'm the second one in my family to be chosen to be a herald, and could you tell me what happened to my Uncle Kris?"

The Herald looked at the trainee and with a sad look explained what happened to her uncle.

"That explains why my dad says, I'm insane for wanting to be Herald." Corina muttered she still could not believe that her Great-Uncle was a traitor to the crown as well as to her family.

Harry just stared in disbelief at what's was said and he need to find something to say.

Dirk chuckled "Heralds have to be a little bit crazy to accept the job." He grew serious then. "Yes, but at least your family knows the burden of having a Herald in the family, so they can be a good shoulder to cry on if and when you need it, and I'm always here to share stories about your uncle."

Corina nodded and gave her thanks.

The Bell rang signaling the end of class, and the Cook's helpers to go to the kitchen.

Harry raised his hand when Dirk asked which of them had that chore.

Dirk explained the bells and what each bell meant, and then he showed Harry where the stairs to the kitchens was located.

Harry went into the kitchen and met with the cook, who questioned him about his ability in the kitchen, and then Harry was given the task of chopping vegetables. As the mealtime got closer, Harry thought that there was no end to all the chopping he had to do.

The young trainee began to notice that the cook was like a general giving out orders, and gauging his helpers' energy and stamina. No one was allowed to sit ideal long. Dishes began appearing, and silverware, going up the hoist to the common room.

"Mero always gives us the best," a trainee stated as she helped herself to stew at the table.

Harry tried the stew as well and his eyes lit up, this was almost as good as he used to get at home.

From the kitchen, Harry went to his room to change into well-worn clothing for weapons lesson.

He made his way to the salle wondering how this class was going to be like.

He was acutely aware that Corina shared this class.

"Honestly, I don't understand why that girl is in a beginner's class," another girl in pale green commented from where she was sitting.

Corina was practicing with a rapier, then rather a long sword, and she was good.

"I bet by time, she gets her Whites it's going to take both the army and the Skybolts to take her down." Another student agreed

Harry just heard this and looked over at the girl in his class worrying more by this info.

The girl in Grays looked over at Harry, "don't worry about them, I've known Corina before she was Chosen, I used to watch her when she was younger, she had a good amount a weapons work before she was Chosen. They only meant she is going to be a good asset to the Circle. I am Ava. You must be Harry?" she moved over to sit by Harry, "I even heard that Herald Jeri was the same way when she was a Trainee."

"And that's supposed to make me feel better." Harry replied

Ava looked at him. "She has to be good at defending herself otherwise she will join the other heralds who have sought the heavens."

"Well I hope if I am paired off with her, I hope she is goes easy on me" he gave a nervous chuckle.

"I doubt you would get paired with her, you don't pick your weapon, and Herald Jeri picks it for you. You might be doing something different because of your glasses, an enemy will knock them off, and where would you be?" Ava asked "Looks as if it's my turn to be beaten." She bounced up and went to take her place where Corina was just at with Jeri.

Harry watches how the group move and thought I really wish I paid more attention to father at home.

Jeri tutored Ava in a no holds style of fighting.

"You better pay attention to Jeri," Corina whispered as she finished walking in slow circles to cool down. "I think Jeri might have you learning Ava's style."

"What style it looked like they were just swing wildly at each other." He winced as he saw Ava go flying to the floor.

"They're not. It's a way to avoid the assassin's blade, Heralds are beloved in Valdemar and nearly every kingdom since the Mage Storms happened, but some are still clinging to the old ways," Corina explained.

He just nodded and began to stretch just as his father showed him.

"Jeri is better armsmistress then some of the others; I crossed practice blades with." Corina commented, "I heard the Healer Trainee, and the other Herald-Trainee talking about me."

Jeri finished with Ava and nodded to Harry to take her place.

Harry made his way to the center and tried to ready himself to what would happen.

"You have been watching Ava?" Jeri asked

"Yes Herald I did but to tell the truth I was very confused." Harry responded

Jeri gave a friendly smile, "Well at least you're honest," she then showed Harry what to do.

Harry copied her movements the best he could and the blade felt too heavy as well.

Jeri was teaching the youngsters ever since she passed her Internship years ago, so she knew the signs when the child was getting tired, she made him stop, "Walk till your cool then go to your next class."

Harry did as he was told he saw Corina waiting for him and asked to walk with him.

: You have no idea what your next class is, do you? : Morgan asked.

: No and why do you want to know?: Harry responds

Morgan's laughter could be heard in Harry's mind. : Your next class involves me.:

He heard this and this put a little pep in his step, Corina saw this and giggled at the sight. "I take it you like being around horses, huh?"

Corina's eyes unfocused as her own Companion delivered a message to her.

:We aren't horses.: Morgan huffed.

Harry just laughed at this and guessed what happened to Corina. They made their way to the field talking about many things.

Morgan whinnied, as she stood with a Companion stallion.

Harry forgot about the world once he was back in Morgan's view, he sprinted to her and vaulted onto her back. They ran through the field, then jump over the fence.
