At the end of the discussion, it was agree upon that, McGonagall was going to leak the information that Harry had returned to the wizarding world, but was fully trained as he was taken in by a magical family that used wandless magic to the point of accessing the power pools that most couldn't use.
Once Harry had decided to rid the classroom of its curse, he put himself into seclusion to prepare for the task of countering curse magic.
Corina walked into the great hall around dinner without Harry at her side as usual.
Everyone was wondering what was happening but didn't ask. Those of the far table began to murmur to each other while casting looks at Corina.
"Great good gods, you're acting like Harry and I got into a quarrel." Corina states as she took her place at the staff table. "I assure you that is not the case."
Hermione raise her hand "Then where is Herald Harry at?"
"He's fasting; he is planning doing some very powerful magics." Corina answered
Hermione's eyes went wide, while Ron just shook his head. "Now you done it, she's gone bother him tell he tells her, what is the spell."
"I don't know, and if he did tell me, I would have beaten him with the flat edge of my sword." Corina replies, "My area is mind-magic." She then mindcalled to Dasher as he was out in the corridor to block the doorway.
The stallion moved into the doorway and laid down, blocking the pathway out.
"You can't interrupt, unless you want to be fried from head to toes." Corina comments
"On second thought I'll think I'll wait till he's done." Hermione replied as she sat back down the rest if her table just smiled.
"You do not want to interrupt a mage in ritual fasting. The results could be tragic." Corina responds "And as a Herald, Harry would blame himself if he did something to harm someone accidentally."
Hermione just sat there in thought her emotions playing on her face.
"I know that loathing." Corina commented "All too well."
"It's not loathing just frustration, I want to know what he's doing; but at the same time I don't want anybody hurt by it either." Hermione answers
"I was referring to me. I had to something a few months ago in my world, and I am not proud of, but still doesn't change the fact, I did it." Corina replies
Most of the students nodded with a small bit of understanding.
Dasher stood up and went over to his Chosen, as he was walking, the silence hall heard a strange bell line tone.
The students all watched the companion move they waited to hear what had happened.
Dasher somehow managed to squeeze himself in-between the instructor and his Chosen, Corina leaned against the muscled front shoulder of the first male that claimed her heart. "We start out as Trainees which is almost what you are now, once we earn our Whites, we are sent out on a circuit for an Internship, partnered with a seasoned Herald. During mine, I was assigned to ride the sector where all the kingdom's books are mad, my mentor and I were staying the night in a waystation, a building that isn't used except by Heralds. But our Companions picked up a distress call from another herald's companion, we were the only ones able to get their quickly." She went on to explain how she had to slit someone's throat to save herself. "A Herald's life is dangerous out on circuit there are bandits and brigands. Most Heralds do not live to see old age."
Most of the students were stunned by what the Herald said.
"So do not tell me, I am a youngster, I have killed to protect the kingdom that I live in. none of you can attest the same." Corina finished and turned burying her face into Dasher's shoulders.
The second day of Harry's fasting, Corina found herself summoned to the Hospital wing, there waiting on her were four people, not including madam Pomfrey. As she entered the wing, she found two of the beds occupied. "I'm glad you came, Herald Corina, these are the Longbottoms."
"I'm Lady Longbottom; you seemed rather young to be a healer." The elder woman states
"I assure you, I am well trained in the usage of my Gift. I am a mindHealer, if you would try to control your emotions; I need to access them before I try to help." Corina answers calmly. The empathic Herald lowered her shielding, pushed her extra sense out, and barely touched the two patients' minds. What she found made her want to weep on their behalf, but they were not so far gone, that she wouldn't able to help them.
Corina pulled back her empathic sense, and shielded again. She turned to the one who had the aura of a Valdemaran Healer. "I have no idea what you have been doing, but somehow they haven't gotten worse in the years they have been like this."
The medic-wizard bowed "All I did was just followed what my instincts told me to do." He paused "I just wished I could have done more for them."
Corina nods before switching her blue eyes onto the elder Longbottom. "If this works, can I count on you to do everything within your power to help them ease back into public life? As such, they will not be aware of the years that have passed, so you will need to tell stories of their son to them, and show them some account of his childhood."
The matron nodded trying her best not to cry. "Of course there is no need to overwhelm them till they feel their ready and I ask to everyone in this room to keep their recovery a secret till then."
Madam Pomfrey had brought a chair over as Corina gave her the basics of what the Herald planned on doing.
Corina went over and sat down on the chair, "Since you had given your permission to have them brought here, I need not ask you to grant me that permission." In her mind, she reached out to her Companion, who knew of the plan and would be anchor and giving strength when needed, also would be shielding from outside interference. Corina gently placed her hands on the sides of the man's face, to her sense; he took most of the attack to guard his wife. She entered the fragile mind and slowly began to heal all of the damage done to his mind.
On the outside, it didn't look she was doing anything at all. However, the two magical medics sensed something was happening. Only the perspiration on Corina's brow told them, she was getting somewhere.
After two hours, Corina opened her eyes; her head was pounding as she had pushed herself to the limit.
She looked over at the man he had a look of ease for the first time in many years.
Madam Pomfrey came over and pushed a mug of steaming tea into Corina's hands along with chocolate. "Here you need this, and no arguing from you, you may be a healer but here I have the final word now rest up."
"I never argue with Healers." Corina replied, "After all, I'm the one who gave you the herbal packets to keep on stock just in case."
The matriarch of the Longbottom family walked over and sat on the side of her son's bed. She was weeping openly at the sight of her son the look of peace was more then she could ever hope to attain.
"Give him an hour or two; he will be able to do simple things. But I promise you whatever he had done for a livelihood; he won't be fit to ever return to that work." Corina explained and she turned her gaze on her next patient.
