Rue Pov

The new camp was not what I expected. The only thing they had organized was sleeping places, no food source or water source, not even a place to have a safe fire. But I'm happy to be back with Thresh. With him, I know I'll be safe.

Ever since Rue left, things have become quiet and somber. Prim had begun working at storing up medicine herbs and small plants that she had learned were eatable from Rue. Cato and Clove continue to hunt with me on a daily basis and Peeta and Foxy have successfully made a loaf of bread from the wheat stocks they ground between rocks to create flour, and baking it over the fire. I noticed everyone becoming more irritable, and one day, Foxy snapped.

"Peeta! You can't mix the barely with the wheat or the oats or the quinoa. If we do that, we can't tell them apart! You know I'm allergic to gluten, which is in almost every damn grain. But the quinoa I can have, so you can't go mixing the quinoa with the barely, or the wheat, or the oats!" she exclaims, throwing her hands up in exasperation. Peeta groaned, putting his face in his hands.

"I know Foxy, but I get a little confused! Is that a crime!" he screams back. I roll my eyes, stomping over to them.

"Guys, calm down, you're making a racket and are fussing over nothing." Foxy jumps to her feet.

"Over nothing, OVER NOTHING! I could die, and you say it's over nothing!" she pauses, letting out a calming breathe. "I'm done." She states, getting to her feet. She stalks over to the sleeping mats, taking her finely woven one from the stack and pulling it out. Then she walks into the storage shed and grabs a loop of rope and some food, plus a backpack. After throwing her things into the bag, she walks over to the ladder and climbs down, disappearing into the unruly forest below. Everyone stares at me, and I just wave them off.

"Get back to work." I grumble, striding over to my chest to grab my bow and arrows. I hadn't used them in a long while, since they came to live with me in fact. I wanted to teach them some snares and knife work first. Pulling out my father's bow and quiver, I hold it close. I could really use his guidance right now.

"What's that?" Prim asks, coming up behind me.

"It's my fathers bow. I lost him in the ship wreck, and I haven't been able to get back to my family since." I handed my precious weapon over to the young blonde girl, letting her examine the engravings on the wood. There were the symbols of the districts, my name, my mothers name, my sisters name and my fathers name, all in a row. Katniss Everdeen, Rose Everdeen, Primrose Everdeen and James Everdeen.

All of a sudden, Prim's eyes start to water. She mumbles something incoherent, before repeating it louder. "You're my sister." She sobs, wrapping her skinny arms around my torso. "You're Katniss Everdeen, my sister! I thought you were dead!" she wails, collapsing into me. Lowering us to the ground, I brush back her hair. I could see the resemblance to my mother, the pale hair and skin, and the bright blue eyes. She even had the four scars that were on the right side of her jaw when our old ugly cat buttercup scratched when she was young.

"And you're Primrose Everdeen, my little sister. I wasn't sure if you were dead or not, since mom didn't have a job and food is so expensive. I thought you were a Mellark! You said Peeta was your brother!" I cry, putting my forehead on hers. We cry for a little while longer before we have to get back to work. She went back to grinding roots into powder with a smile on her face, and I went and shot some squirrels for dinner, never feeling better.

Things went well for the next few days, everything was calm, until I brought some seagull home to eat a week after the Foxy incident. "That is disgusting." Peeta comments as I plucked the fathers from the body. "Couldn't you find something else?" he looks at the bird with distaste, making me angry.

"You eat what you get, simple as that. Unless, of course, you don't want to eat." I snap, sticking a sharpened stick straight through the meat. He winced, but still continued.

"I mean, even a rabbit is better then this, or a squirrel. I remember when my father used to buy your fathers squirrels. Me and my mother always hated it, but my father and brothers seemed to adores them. Me, I prefer horse or chicken. But I suppose you've never had that before, have you?" he says, his nose in the air.

I gripped the roasting stick so hard, I thought I heard it crack. "Peeta, I don't care what you don't like. If you want to eat, you'll eat this." I growl, getting to my feet. "I don't care for your rick boy attitude. I grew up scrapping by, and for the last five years, I was on my own. So, you don't like it, leave." There was a pregnant pause, before he answered.

"Prim, grab your stuff, we're leaving." Shock was clear on the little girls face, before tears started pooling in her eyes.

"No, you can't make me leave." She says, shaking her head.

"We took you in when you had no one else. Lets go!" he yells, grabbing her wrist harshly and pulling her onto her feet. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she was forced to pack her things. Peeta kept rushing her along, making her panic and drop things, slowing the process even more.

And finally, at sun down, they disappeared down the ladder and into the forest below.

Prim Pov

"Come on Prim, it was for the best. She's insane, making us eat that. We are civilized people, not savages." He grabbed my wrist, but I just shook my head, refusing to look at him. He made me leave my sister, the sister I had just gotten back after thinking she was dead. How did I miss it? She has the same seam look, only she's older and taller, and… well, cooler. I saw her hit those seagulls easily, and the arrows always went through the eye. Always.

"I just found her Peeta, and then you made me leave her. And you say it's for the best? Do you really think Glimmer knows how to feed us? Keep us safe? She's a ditz Peeta, and yet you still follow her like a love sick puppy dog. If I thought she was the best option, I would have left with Rue, but I didn't. you just need to suck it up. If you think we're going to be eating differently there, you're wrong. We might not even eat. We might just have berries night after night after night, with no meat at all. Just think about that." I snap coldly, ripping my arm from his grasp so I could walk further a head. Glimmer said her camp was on the we st side of the island. Let's just hope the girl knows her directions.
