FINALLY we can get to the hot springs part. This one will be different than the anime version, because I want this to be a bit more realistic and fit Jaylin's character. As we know, by this point, Jaylin is a bit different from Jaden. Review please!
Jaylin felt the dark mist entering inside her body, as if clawing into every part of humanity left in her. Her powers kicked in to draw out this unknown power, but it was as if this unknown power was in disguise as a friend, telling her body to not attack. She tried screaming, but could not. Nightshroud's darkness was slowly crawling throughout her entire body until her golden eyes began fading.
Jaylin snapped her eyes open, grasping for breath and realized she was still in the hot springs at the foot of the volcano. She shook her head, placing her hand on her forehead.
"I gotta chill. I'm getting too freaked out over nothing," Jaylin said to herself, leaning against the rock beside her, laying her arm over it. "Then again, that's why I came here, right?" She slowly slid her hand across her face, which slowly landed on the rock she was leaning on. She began touching her tummy. "Thinking about it is making me nauseous. I hope I'm not getting sick." Jaylin heard her cell phone ring, reaching out for it. She answered it, making sure she didn't get it too wet. "Hey Daddy. Glad you called."
"You okay, Princess? You sound a bit down," Yugi asked.
"I'm fine. My stomach is acting weird today. I went to the hot spring to relax a bit."
"They have a hot spring?" Yugi asked, then shook the thought. "Anyway, it sounds like you're really stressed out. The last time you were like this was during the Orichalcos incident."
"Did Raphiel tell you?"
"Yep. Though, on the positive side, you don't seem as bad as that time."
Jaylin sighed, laying her head on the rocky surface, saying, "I don't know. I shouldn't be worried, but Nightshroud almost gained control of me and I felt so powerless. I guess I'm tired, or it could be the fact it's that time of the month."
"Well, no wonder you're not feeling well! Have you been buying chocolates?"
"Very funny."
"I hope you get better, sweetheart. You take care."
"You too," Jaylin replied hanging up. She moaned, while sinking deeper into the warm water. She noticed some redness inside the water between her legs, sighing. "It's a good thing I'm alone."
Zane knocked on the door of Jaylin's dorm room, leaning against the rail of the top floor. The door opened, revealing Carl. Zane figured Jaylin wasn't in her dorm room, since it was not like her to be in her dorm room in the middle of the day, but Zane felt he still needed some information. Something was bothering him in the back of his mind, and wanting to get out.
"You know where Jaylin is?" Zane asked.
"Not really. Why?" Carl asked.
"Nothing much. Just that Jaylin hasn't been trying to prank me, make me go fishing with her, break into my dorm room, or even hanging with you guys for a while."
"Ah, worried a bit?"
"Maybe," Zane replied, letting out a quiet sigh.
"It is her time of the month. I'm sure she's fine."
"I know it's her time of the month. Thank you for reminding me that," Zane replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"She has been acting really stressed out. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to check and make sure she's doing okay," Carl decided, leaving out of her dorm room. Zane followed.
"I thought you said you didn't know where she was."
"I don't, but the girls might," Carl explained, then noticed Ronda at the edge of the cliff. She ran up to the young brunette-haired girl. "RONDA!"
"Oh, hi Carl," Ronda greeted.
"You know where Jaylie is?"
"I believe she's at the hot springs. She was having bad cramps and decided to take a breather."
"Thanks," Zane thanked.
"Though, I wouldn't be going, if I were you. She's probably stark-"
"I know, which is why Carl's coming with me," Zane replied grimly.
"Does this place even have a hot spring?" Carl asked.
"It does. Jaylin showed me a couple of them."
"Ah."
Zane and Carl walked into the woods, where Jaylin usually performed her training, and then walked around the foot of the volcano. Zane began calling out Jaylin's name before hitting one of the springs, given the reason why Carl didn't stop him from going to one of them when Jaylin didn't answer. The hot springs seemed to be very warm and toasty today, from what Carl could tell.
"JAYLIN!" Zane called afar from the third hot spring he checked.
"I'm here!" Jaylin replied from the hot spring behind the trees and bushes.
"How you feeling?" Zane asked.
"I'm kinda sick. Why?"
"Your knight in shining armor's worried about ya," Carl smirked as Zane rolled his eyes.
"Oh ha ha, funny Carl!"
"I just noticed you've been feeling overwhelmed," Zane mentioned.
"Kinda. I suppose Nightshroud, trying to use me as a puppet, kinda freaked me out a bit. I'll be fine. I just need exercise and relaxation. I think my period is just messing with my mind. I mean hell, I've had Dad's soul be taken in front of my eyes and played the Seal of Orichalcos. This is child's play to me!"
"I was scared too, Jaylin. I'm glad things turned out okay, though."
Jaylin sighed, "I'll be fine, Zane. Is there ice cream at the dorm today?"
"I believe so."
"Yum. I'll get changed real quick."
"Hurry."
It took less than five minutes for Jaylin to appear with her normal school clothes on. She began running on her way out of the forest and toward the Obelisk Blue Dorm, Zane having to catch up with Jaylin. She ordered ten small cups of ice cream and began stuffing some in her mouth. To everyone's surprise, she wasn't getting a brain freeze. Zane just found it funny and couldn't stop smiling at this scene.
"Satisfied?" Zane asked.
"Yes," Jaylin replied, sticking another spoon of ice cream in her mouth. "Though, I still feel like shit."
"Ibuprofen?" Zane offered, showing a small bottle with Ibuprofen written on the front. Jaylin snatched it and took two pills of it, swallowing them down her throat.
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
"ATTENTION STUDENTS, I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU ALL TO REPORT AT THE AUDITORIUM FOR AN ASSEMBLY! THAT WILL BE ALL!" Chancellor Shepard replied on the intercom as Jaylin shoved a large scoop of ice cream in her mouth.
"Mhm!" Jaylin responded, swallowing the ice cream in her mouth. "Time to go."
"Right behind you," Zane smirked, following Jaylin.
Jaylin and Zane made it to the auditorium, Jaylin sitting between Alexis and Ronda. At this point, Jaylin was feeling better and her cramps seem to have ceased. Chancellor Shepard appeared on the stage, lifting his hand to cease the noise. Everyone quieted down, ready to listen to what the chancellor had to say.
"Seto Kaiba has decided to pay a visit to our school today!" Chancellor Shepard announced as everyone screamed and applauded. The chancellor gave the microphone to Seto, who then waited until the noise ceased.
"I am here to check on the school! I usually go through the school and visit each classroom, but it seems I have given myself some free time this year for one duel against one of you here today!" Seto announced as the student body applauded with huge excitement. He held his hand up until the noise ceased. "I will choose one student, whom I see is more worthy to duel against me! I have kept tabs on each duelists' skill and dueling! Among all these students, I will choose only one I see as qualified to dueling against me!" There was a short pause, then students screaming aloud to be chosen. "I choose Jaylin Yuki!"
Jaylin snorted, "figures." She stood up and made her way down the steps of the chairs to where the stage was, while everyone cheered. She jumped over the wall between the seats and the foot of the stage.
Jaylin walked up the steps, being given a duel disk by two of Seto's employees. She placed it on her arm, getting out her deck and shoving it in the slot. A smirk appeared on her lips, thinking, 'You never could hold back favoritism. You favored Daddy and it seems it's slowly sinking its way toward me. Though, I suppose that was pretty obvious.'
Jaylin and Seto drew five cards, Seto looking up at Jaylin with a smirk of his own. He said, "ladies first."
"Okay!" Jaylin replied, drawing her sixth card. She looked through her hand with a smirk up her lips. "I summon Elemental Hero Lady Heat!" The woman elemental HERO with flaming hair appeared on the field with a burning passion. "Then, throw down two face-downs. That will be all." The audience clapped for the end of Jaylin's turn. "And don't forget Lady Heat's effect!" Elemental HERO Lady Heat surrounded itself with a ring of fire, one appearing around Seto and dropping his life points down to 3800.
"I summon Kaiser Sea Horse," Seto smirked as a blue and purple armored monster with a golden double spear appeared boldly onto the field. "I'll place a card face-down on the field, then have my Kaiser attack your Lady Heat!" Kaiser Sea Horse threw its golden spear directly at Elemental HERO Lady Heat, who seemed to be pumping up.
Jaylin showed a smirk upon her lips, activating her face-down card. Seto's expression changed into a more serious expression as Jaylin declared, "I activate Master Magician's Incantation!" And old magician appeared in a mysterious cloaked outfit as its hand reached out and, in front of that hand, was Jaylin's spell card H – Heated Hero. "I use this to raise Lady Heat's attack points!" Elemental HERO Lady Heat's attack points raised up to 1800 just as Kaiser Sea Horse attacked the Elemental HERO and burned itself to death until it burst from the field, bringing Seto's life points down to 3700.
"This is impressive, even for Jaylin. Nobody has ever chipped any of Kaiba's life points on the first turn, except Yugi. Even Joey taking any life points from Kaiba on the first turn is difficult, and he's right below as the third most skilled duelist in the world," Alexis said with amazement written on her face.
"She must have a good hand or lucky," Ronda thought.
"Luck has nothing to do with it. Jaylin was able to predict Kaiba's first attack, including what that face-down card he placed was."
"But Kaiba never placed it until after Jaylin's turn, how could she predict what the face-down card was or what his next move would be!?"
"Who knows? I guess Jaylin really is that good. It's no wonder he summoned Kaiser Sea Horse."
"I place one more face-down card and end my turn," Seto declared as the crowd clapped for the end of his turn.
Jaylin drew her next card, then declared, "I bring out Elemental Hero Stratos!" The blue Elemental HERO monster with wings appeared on the field.
"I activate my trap card, Cloning!" Seto declared as Elemental HERO Stratos began splitting into two and one of them flew to his side of the field.
"I also play E – Emergency Calling!" She searched through her deck and added an Elemental HERO to her hand. "Now, I will have Stratos attack you directly, using his special ability!" Elemental HERO Stratos' attack dropped to 900 before flying over at Seto, who just held his same smirk.
"I activate Ring of Defense!" Seto smirked as a large green ring appeared, spinning around. Elemental HERO Stratos punched the ring and it burst form the field. The Elemental HERO returned back to Jaylin's side.
"I end my turn," Jaylin finished as the audience clapped for the end of her turn. Elemental HERO Lady Heat surrounded itself with fire before a ring of fire appeared around Seto, dropping his life points down to 3300.
"So, his first face-down card was Ring of Defense. Makes sense, considering Jaylin had Lady Heat out on the field," Zane said.
"I play Monster Reborn to bring back Kaiser Sea Horse!" Seto smirked as Kaiser Sea Horse returned back to the field. "I use him as sacrifice to bring out my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Kaiser Sea Horse disappeared from the field and was replaced by a mighty white dragon with crystal blue eyes. The audience applauded aloud for the summon of Seto's ace monster. "Tremble before-"
"TREMBLE BEFORE THE MIGHTY GOD THOR OF THUNDER!" Jaylin shouted in an over-the-top voice as the audience, having heard it, burst into laughter. Seto glared in pure annoyance. "Sorry, I've just heard you say stuff like that so many times, I made a list of jokes to go with each of them."
"Blue-Eyes attacks your Lady Heat!" Seto cried out as Blue-Eyes White Dragon took a huge gulp of breath and shot white lightning at Elemental HERO Lady Heat though its mouth.
"I activate my trap Swamp of the Fallen!" Jaylin declared as Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack dropped to 1500 before Elemental HERO Lady Heat burst from the field and left Jaylin with 3800 life points remaining.
"I place one card face-down and end my turn," Seto finished as the audience clapped for the end of his turn.
"So... whose favor is it turning to?" Bastion wondered.
"Beats me! It seems like it's turning to Kaiba's favor, but Jaylin can predict whatever he throws at her. It's like..." Alexis replied, rubbing her chin as if trying to figure out something.
"It's like what?" Ronda asked.
"It's like how Yugi duels Kaiba, he can predict every move Kaiba makes."
"That's right. Yugi can predict Kaiba's moves, can't he?"
"But how is Jaylin able to do that? I mean I suppose, being that she's the daughter of a duelist pro, she probably has studied Kaiba's dueling skills," Bastion concluded.
"The question is how much has Jaylin been studying on Kaiba's dueling skills?" Alexis wondered.
"Hm..." Ronda wondered, her eyebrows furrowed.
Jaylin showed a smirk, drawing her next card, then glancing at her hand. She declared, "I play Gift of the Weak by placing Hero Kid in my graveyard!" She placed Hero Kid in her graveyard, then drew two cards from her deck to her hand. "FINALLY! I play Polymerization on Stratos and Necroshade, from my hand!" Elemental HERO Stratos and a HERO with red armor, sharp claws and bug-like eyes fused together in the light and appeared as the green armored and caped Elemental HERO. As the audience applauded for Elemental HERO Great Tornado's summon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack dropped to 1500 and its defense dropped to 1250. "Now, I'll throw down a face-down and end my turn!" The audience clapped for the end of Jaylin's turn.
Seto drew his next card, then looked at Jaylin's direction with such seriousness. He began thinking, 'just like I thought, she can predict my usual moves... just like Yugi. Though, what all these people don't know, whether they know about who Jaylin's father is or not, is that she didn't predict my moves from simply watching my duels. In fact, she didn't even learn this from Yugi.' His eyes furrowed even deeper, darting at the glimmer in Jaylin's eyes.
"I summon Lord of Dragons in defense mode!" Seto declared as a man in a uniform that looked like a skeleton of a dragon appeared on the field in a defense position and Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack and defense returned to normal, due to the effect of Lord of Dragons. Despite this, Lord of Dragon's attack was 600 and defense was 550. "Next, I play Pot of Greed." He drew two cards from his deck, adding them to his hand. "I place a card face-down on the field, then will have my Blue-Eyes attack your Great Tornado!" Blue-Eyes White Dragon took a huge gulp of air, then performed another blast, heading for Elemental HERO Great Tornado.
"I activate my face-down card De-Fusion!" Jaylin declared as Elemental HERO Great Tornado split back into Elemental HERO Stratos and Elemental HERO Necroshade, making the attack from Blue-Eyes White Dragon disappear. She showed a smirky grin as Seto continued showing seriousness in his expression. "Then, it looks like I have no choice, I activate my face-down card The Flute of Summoning Dragon!" A giant dragon flute appeared and two more Blue-Eyes White Dragon's appeared on the field. A smirk finally appeared on Seto's lips as Jaylin found herself pumped up. The audience applauded and cheered loudly for the summon of two Blue-Eyes White Dragons. "I'm going to give you a chance to see, if you can touch my dragons. Until then, I end my turn." The audience clapped for the end of Seto's turn.
"Holy crap! Three Blue-Eyes White Dragons!" Syrus cried out with widened eyes.
"He's not holding back with Jaylin. He never did, but he usually defeats his opponents with just one Blue-Eyes White Dragon at a time. The only opponent he's ever had to use three were the top pro duelists. If it was against any other student, even someone like me, he'd only use one dragon."
"Why did he use three for Jaylin? It seems, from the way it's played, that Kaiba was planning on summoning three dragons from the start," Syrus claimed as Zane darted his eyes at the duel. "Do you think... I don't know... that maybe Jaylin might be something special?"
"I don't know. She is Yugi Moto's daughter, but I don't know if that's the only reason. She is adopted after all."
"Yeah, but isn't Kaiba also-" Syrus said, then something dawned on him and Zane. Syrus was right, Kaiba was also an adopted child, just like Jaylin was and is. Both may've had different adopted fathers, but still...
"You and Mokuba could relate to Jaylin more than anyone else!" Wasn't that what Yugi had said so long ago? Seto could remember it like it was yesterday. For some reason, it always boggled his mind and he couldn't explain it, but somehow Yugi made a valid point. Though, most of the time, Seto could not see how this was possible. Sure, both were adopted, but Jaylin was adopted by a good common father, who loved her. Seto was adopted by a greedy and ambitious man, who never cared for him or Mokuba. Seto had to work through blood and sweat to gain control of Kaiba Corporation from Gozoburro's dirty hands. Jaylin didn't have to work through blood and sweat to get where she is today. Though, there was something beneath the surface, which Seto could not explain, that was shared with himself whenever he did see the young youth face to face. There seemed to be some sort of connection.
Jaylin drew her next card, peering through her hand. She declared, "I play Spellbook from the Pot!" Her and Seto drew three cards from their deck to their hand. "Then, I'll summon Winged Kuriboh!" The little Kuriboh with wings appeared on the field as Seto shot a glare at it. "Now, this is going to hurt, but I happen to have drawn the right cards for this combo. Because I love messing with ya, I decided to play this little lucky charm!" Jaylin grinned showing the spell card Soul Exchange, which made Seto glare. "Oh, but this gets even better! You see, I'm only going to choose one of your dragons and use the second tribute on Winged Kuriboh!" Suddenly, a giant whirlwind surrounded Blue-Eyes White Dragon and another one surrounded Winged Kuriboh. Everyone gazed in awe, wondering why Jaylin didn't just tribute the second Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Of course, the answer was solved when a bright male in golden armor, carrying the seven millennium items, appeared on the field. "Well, aren't you the lucky one? I happened to place this in my deck. I usually don't, because I don't have a light attribute that's a dragon-type monster. I usually keep him for any special time I might be able to summon him with the right cards. You just happen to give me the right card I needed to summon it! What are the odds?"
The audience made an "oooh" sound, then applaud loudly, since this was a VERY rare card. Seto's eyes bulged from his eye sockets for a single second, before they furrowed. He asked, "where did you get this?"
"Would you believe me, if I told you it was at a yard sale?" Jaylin asked as Seto blinked for a second. "Pegasus started creating this guy after Daddy found him in Aknamkanon's tomb. Anyways, here's the description." Jaylin pressed a button on her duel disk to show the information of the card in hologram. Seto read it and showed a smirk.
"Impressive, but you still have a slim chance of having the same attack points as my Blue-Eyes and, even if you were able to match the same attack points, it won't last you for very long."
"The issue with that is that I'm not planning on using this baby against Blue-Eyes," Jaylin pointed out as Seto raised two eyebrows. "I'll use its ability and guess the top three cards... hm..." Jaylin began thinking hard, closing her eyes. "Pot of Greed... I hope I get Hero Flash... Defender Hero?" Seto showed a grim look on his face as Jaylin drew her top three cards, biting the bottom corner of her lip. "Well, I got two right." She showed Pot of Greed and Defender Hero as Ma'at's attack and defense points rose to 2000.
"2000 isn't enough."
"Again, I wasn't planning on using him against your Blue-Eyes. I was actually going to use it on your stupid clone!" Jaylin said, pointing at the Clone Token as Ma'at's staff began to glow and unleashed an attack on the Clone Token, bursting it from the field and leaving Seto with 3100 life points remaining. "Then, Necroshade attacks Lord of Dragons!" Elemental HERO Necroshade ran up and gashed its claws across Lord of Dragons, bursting it from the field as wel l and leaving Seto with 2700 life points remaining. "Oh, and don't forget Stratos' special ability!" Elemental HERO Stratos' attack dropped to 900 before flying up in the air and heading straight for Seto.
"I activate Enemy Controller and put Stratos in defense!" Seto declared, revealing his face-down card as a game controller appeared in front of him. The buttons pressed were up, left, down, right, A before Elemental HERO Stratos was forced back into defense.
"Then, I'll use Pot of Greed," Jaylin declared, drawing two cards into her hand. "I'll throw down two face-downs and end my turn." The audience clapped for the end of her turn.
"Kaiba still has those Blue-Eyes, but it does seem like it's turning in Jaylin's favor," Syrus said.
"It could go either way. I'm actually interested in how this plays," Zane said, showing two furrowed eyebrows.
Seto drew his next card, then declared, "I play Premature Burial and bring back my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" His life points dropped to 1900 and Blue-Eyes White Dragon returned back to the field. A smirk appeared on Seto's lips. "And, thanks to your Spellbook from the Pot, I was able to draw out my Polymerization. Now, I can combine my three Blue-Eyes White Dragons to bring out my ultimate dragon, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" The three Blue-Eyes White Dragons fused into the light and appeared as a Blue-Eyes White Dragon with three heads. "Feel the wrath of my ultimate dragon! My Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon attacks your Necroshade!" Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon took a gulp of air, then the three heads exhaled a white blast at Elemental HERO Necroshade, leaving Jaylin with 900 life points remaining. "But, it doesn't stop there, I use Forbidden Substance, so my Ultimate Dragon can attack a second time on Ma'at!" Seto smirked as Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, once more, took in a huge gulp of breath before unleashing its attack. "It's game!"
"HA! You wish! I activate my trap card Defender Hero and change the target to Elemental Hero Stratos!" Jaylin declared as the blast changed its target to Elemental HERO Stratos, bursting it from the field.
"Then, looks like my Ultimate Dragon will have to wait another turn. I end my turn with one card face-down," Seto declared as the audience clapped for the end of his turn.
"No, it won't, because I'm taking it out!" Jaylin smirked, drawing her next card. "First, I play Foolish Burial to place my Hero Kid in my graveyard." Seto's eyes widened, realizing what Jaylin was doing. She smirked, loving that she was one step ahead of Seto. "Now, I activate my second trap card Miracle Kids! I have three Hero Kids in my graveyard, so that brings your Ultimate Dragon's power down several notches. I'd say about... oh, I don't know... 1200?"
"You..." Seto glared, watching as his Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's attack dropped down to 3300. "It's still more powerful than your Ma'at!"
"Then, you're gonna love this. I also activate Miracle Fusion. Say hello to Great Tornado!" Jaylin smirked as Elemental HERO Stratos and Elemental HERO Lady Heat fused into the light and appeared as Elemental HERO Great Tornado. The audience applauded for its summon. "You know Great Tornado's special ability." Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's attack dropped to 1650 and defense to 1900.
"Whoa," the crowd seemed to respond.
"Oh, but if you thought it ends there, it doesn't. I use Necroshade's special ability and bring out Ocean!" Jaylin smirked, pumping her arm as Elemental HERO Ocean appeared on the field, twirling its staff. The crowd applauded for the summon of that monster. "Great Tornado will be the first to attack your Ultimate Dragon!" Elemental HERO Great Tornado shot a huge gust of wind, eventually turning into a tornado, which aimed right for Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Seto's face turned to pure horror as he witnessed his Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon burst from the field before his eyes, leaving his life points down to 1000. "Ma'at attacks you directly!" Ma'at's staff began to glow and burst light directly at Seto before he activated his trap card.
"I activate Ring of Destruction!" Seto glared as a ring wrapped around Ma'at before bursting it from the field. Both him and Jaylin ended up with 0 life points remaining. It was a draw.
For a moment, everyone was in utter shock, then all began applauding for the fantastic and epic duel of their lives. Students young and old were screaming at the top of their lungs, and the teachers all clapped in excitement. Jaylin was laughing, rolling her eyes, as her and Seto walked toward each other.
"You're such a sore loser," Jaylin smirked.
"And it seems I taught you too well. My work here is done," Seto said, then his face grew serious. "You still feeling unwell?"
"How'd you know I was feeling down and awww, didn't know you cared so much about me," Jaylin teased.
"I have security cameras around the island, and I can't have you be feeling overwhelmed when there's a student killer on the loose. On top of that, I still never repaid you for saving my soul from that beast. Call this a repayment, along with the discount," Seto clarified with pride.
Jaylin snorted, smirking, "you're such an asshole, you know that? But, you're okay, as long as you let me know what I need to do, and stop being a bitch." She took off her duel disk, retrieving her deck, then gave it to Roland before making her way down the steps. Then...
"By the way," Seto mentioned as Jaylin turned, giving his attention. "Being that you are the first duelist, since your father, whose ever come close to defeating me, let alone end it in a draw, I can consider you a rival. Normally, I would never accept anyone else as my rival, but... let's call you an exception. After all, even the King needs a Queen."
Jaylin burst out laughing, rolling her eyes, then walking down the stairs. She shouted, "PRINCESS!" then ran up to meet her friends, who were waiting next to the door that led out of the school.
"Wow! You were amazing, Jaylin!" Ronda cried out in excitement.
"Yeah, I had no idea that you were this good!" Carl said.
"Well, I was taught by the best teachers," Jaylin partly bragged.
"You mean your father?"
"Wait, teachers?" Syrus question as Jaylin shrugged.
A/N: I changed the duel from the one in Fear Factor, because of Jaylin's experience with dueling. Believe it or not, Jaylin has been taught how to duel through multiple pro duelists, not just Yugi and Seto. The cards she received in the duel with the Princeton's should give you a hint. So yeah, if you could do the math, Yugi, Seto, Joey, Mai and Maxamillion Pegasus, all of these people, taught Jaylin how to duel through different ways. It wouldn't make sense for Jaylin to not push Seto to his limits. I enjoyed writing this duel, even if it took me three days to do, and I was glad I waited until now to write it.
Now, before you guys start writing, "Jaylin wasn't around during the Awakening of the Dragons, why is this mentioning her being there, and wasn't it Yami that played the Seal of Orichalcos? This is out of continuity bla bla bla bla!" Okay, hold your horses! Back up here! What the narration is talking about, when mentioning about the Orichalcos, does NOT take place in Awakening of the Dragons. This event took place last summer, at this time. Remember, Jaylin has been through paranormal adventures with Yugi before, and this event was, what you could call, the return of the Orichalcos. In other words, this is the second time the Orichalcos thing happened. I might have a prequel special about that, since I am hinting at it, and it'll be for the fans reading this story. So yeah, that's what you're noticing, a hint to a possible prequel, besides the Yugi's journal one.
