Chaos of the Grand Line

A few hours after leaving Twin Capes, the weather did something strange.

It went from warm and sunny to cold and snowing within minutes.

Now the Going Merry was covered in snow, and a certain pair of the most childish members of the Straw Hats were taking advantage of it by having a snowman building contest.

Luffy had finished building a simple yet pathetic excuse of a snowman with snow, long wooden stick, coal, and for a hat: a barrel.

Although it is pathetic, the snowman was actually Luffy's best of work.

"There! The man who fell from the sky, Mr. Snow man!" Luffy said as he patted his snowman.

"Ha ha! Your skill is so horrible!" Usopp teased.

"What did you say?" Luffy asked.

"Behold! The beautiful Snow Queen," Usopp announced.

Usopp's snowman, or rather a snowwoman, was actually a snow-sculpture of a young woman sitting on a snowball.

"So cool!" Luffy yelled.

"I know, right?" Usopp gloated.

Luffy got a bright idea.

"Snowman punch!" Luffy yelled as he hit the piece of stick sticking out of the other end of Mr. Snowman's arm.

The arm fired and hit the Snow Queen in the head.

"Hey!" Usopp yelled as he kicked off the head of Mr. Snowman.

"Mr. Snowman!" Luffy yelled, "That's it! You ask for this."

Luffy picked up a scoop of snow made a snowball and threw it.

The snowball hit Usopp square in the face.

"So that's how you want it!" Usopp yelled.

Usopp started making a dozen of snowballs and threw them.

Luffy summoned Haki in order to repell the snowballs.

"No fair! You're using Haki!" Usopp yelled.

"What's wrong? Are you scared of fighting me with both snowballs and Haki?" Luffy asked, "It would make good Haki training, wouldn't you say?"

"Okay! You ask for this!" Usopp responded.

They started having a combination of a snowball and haki fight, where each had their own advantage: Usopp having a better aim and Luffy being the better Haki User.

Gin was watching next to Zoro, who was was covered in snow since he never did wake up from his nap, and sighed.

"You think they be more concern of the fact we just went from sunny to warm to cold and snowing," Gin responded.

Zoro grunted in his sleep which was an indication that he was still alive.

Nami was watching Luffy's and Usopp's haki-snowball fight from inside the Gallery, wearing a winter's jacket and earmuffs.

"I'm freezing here and they're having playing around," Nami complained.

Sanji was shoveling snow off the ship for Nami.

"Oh Nami! How long do you want me to continue shoveling snow?" Sanji asked.

"Until it stops snowing!" Nami yelled.

"Yes my love!" Sanji agreed.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem that the snow was going to stop any time soon.

…Inside…

"Hey! Don't you have a heater on this ship?" Mr. Nine asked.

"We're cold here," Ms. Wednesday complained.

"Shut up! Just because Luffy said you can come with us, doesn't mean you're our guest! If you have time to complain, why don't you go out and shovel snow?" Nami yelled.

Suddenly there was a loud boom of thunder.

"Lightning? What kind of weather is this? A second ago it was just hot," Nami said, "It's as Crocus said it is."

"It seems that you have underestimated the Grand Line," Ms. Wednesday teased, "You haven't controlled your rudder for a while. DO you think it's going to be okay?"

"For a while? I just checked the route a second ago," Nami responded.

Nami checked the Log Post and screamed.

Everyone, except for Zoro, heard the scream and stopped what they were doing.

"What happened?" Usopp asked.

"What's wrong Nami?" Sanji asked.

Nami ran outside to the deck.

"Turne the ship back 180 degrees!" Nami ordered.

"180 degrees? Why do we have to go back?" Usopp asked.

"You forget something?" Luffy asked.

"I don't know how, but our ship was completely turned around! All I did was look away from the Log Post, and the waves were calmed," Nami responded.

"Here we go again," Gin said.

"What do you mean?" Luffy asked.

"Back when I was in the Krieg Pirates, when we were in the Grand Line especially after countering Mihawk, we were lost for days trying to find a way out," Gin explained, "That's how we ran out of food even with one ship left. We were stuck trying to get back into the Calm Belt for so many days that we eventually ran out."

"Wow! That's bad luck," Luffy said.

"What do you expect?" Ms. Wednesday asked from inside the Galley.

"Huh?" Nami responded as she turned to Ms. Wednesday.

"It is usual for this place. The wind, the sky, even the clouds can't be trust here. Log Post is the only thing you can rely on," Ms. Wednesday explained.

"Are you sure you're a navigator?" Mr. Nine mocked.

Nami walked over, grabbed them by the collar of their shirts, and drag them out to the deck.

"Stop bragging and help the other!" Nami yelled as she kicked them out onto the deck bellow.

"Geez," Ms. Wednesday complained.

"Gin, take the rudder and turn back 180 degrees and wait for the wind from the right!" Nami ordered.

"Yes ma'am," Gin agreed.

"Sure thing my love!" Sanji agreed.

"Usopp, go take a look at the back!"

"Yes ma'am!" Usopp agreed as he was about to head back, "Wait! The wind is changing direction."

"You must be kidding!" Nami yelled.

A warm spring breeze came through.

"Spring is the best!" Both Mr. Nine and Ms. Wednesday said.

"Why?" Nami yelled.

"Zoro! Emergency! Wake up!" Usopp yelled.

Zoro snored peacefully.

"Hey! I see a dolphin! Let's go over there and get a closer look!" Luffy yelled.

"No we're not!" Nami yelled.

A fog started covering the ship.

"The waves are getting stronger!" Usopp yelled.

"The waves are making it hard to control the rudder!" Gin yelled.

"Nami! A fog!" Sanji yelled.

"What's wrong with this sea?" Nami yelled.

Zoro was still sound a sleep.

An Ice Berg came out of nowhere in the fog and hit the Going Merry.

"We hit an Ice Berg!" Mr. Nine yelled.

"The ship is leaking!" Luffy yelled.

"Then hurry up and fix it!" Nami yelled.

"I'm on it!" Usopp yelled.

"The clouds are changing speed!" Nami yelled,.

It started really storming as the waves and wind worsen.

"Sails are going to rip!" Usopp yelled.

"The wind is too strong! Bring up the sails!" Nami ordered.

Sanji came out with a large plate of several riceballs.

"Eat up so you have energy everyone!" Sanji ordered.

"Okay!" Luffy responded as he started stuffing his face.

"You're eating too much!" Sanji yelled as he hit Luffy in the head.

"I need help with the rudder!" Gin yelled.

"Sanji! Go help Gin!" Nami yelled.

"The ship is leaking again!" Ms. Wednesday reported.

"Darn it!" Usopp complained.

"Nami! Are we on course?" Sanji asked.

"No, we're not!" Nami replied.

"What?" everyone yelled.

During the whole chaos, Zoro was still in his spot, sound asleep.

…Hour Later…

The weather finally calmed down to a bright warm sunny day.

The leaks were mostly repaired, and the Going Merry was finally sailing on course.

Almost everyone that was working through the chaos was resting, while making sure they stayed on course, except for Luffy who was back on his 'special seat' watching the waves.

Finally, Zoro woke up from his nap.

Zoro got up and stretched while yawning.

"That was a good nap," Zoro said.

Zoro noticed that most of the crew were resting.

"Hey! I know the weather is great and everything, but shouldn't you be working and not sleeping?" Zoro asked, "I hope we're not lost."

"I'm going to kill him," Usopp Nami Sanji and Gin thought.

Zoro look to see that Mr. Nine and Ms. Wednesday were there.

"Hey! Didn't we kick you off? What are you doing here?" Zoro asked.

"We're taking them back to their town," Luffy replied.

"Why did you agree to do that? We don't owe them anything," Zoro responded.

"I don't know," Luffy replied.

"Right," Zoro responded.

Zoro kneel down to Mr. Nine and Ms. Wednesday.

"What's your names again?" Zoro asked.

"Mr. Nine," Mr. Nine replied.

"Ms. Wednesday," Ms. Wednesday replied.

"Hmm, those names sounds familiar to me. Something I heard of before," Zoro responded.

Nami walked up to Zoro and hit him hard on the head.

"What was that for?" Zoro asked.

"You think you can sleep when we need your help?" Nami threatened.

"Huh?" Zoro asked.

Nami hit him three more times, and added Haki on the last hit.

"Everyone! Be ready for anything!" Nami yelled, "I know why they called this place the Grand Line, and I also learned scary things about this place…"

"I could have told you that," Gin responded.

"My navigation technique can't be used here," Nami continued.

"Can we survive?" Usopp asked.

"Of course! We just need to change our navigation technique to adapt to the Grand Line," Nami responded, "Besides, we have already crossed the first obstacle! Look over there."

Nami pointed at the island ahead of them with cactus like mountains on it.,

"That island is Whiskey Peak! We have completed our first journey!" Nami announced.

"Wow! Giant cactus!" Luffy yelled.

"We have finally reached the first island," Sanji said, "You must glad, Gin."

Gin was wipping away a tear of joy.

"Yes! I've gone further into the Grand Line with you guys than I have with the Krieg Pirates," Gin responded.

Suddnly Mr. Nine and Ms. Wednesday jumped to the side edge of the ship.

"We have to go now. Thank you for taking us here," Mr. Nine said.

"We shall meet again," Ms. Wednesday continued.

"Bye-bye baby!" said both of them as the jumped into the sea.

"They're gone," Zoro said.

"Who are they?" Usopp asked.

"Don't worry about that," Nami responded.

"Let's go to port!" Luffy yelled.

"There is a river we can take to port," Nami responded.

"Are there any ghost or monsters?" Usopp asked.

"It's possible! This is the Grand Line," Sanji responded.

"Don't worry. If there is, we can just go to the next island," Luffy respond4d.

"No we can't!" Gin replied.

"Gin's right! We have to spend time on the island so that the log post can reset and pick up on the next island," Nami explained.

"How long will that take?" Usopp asked.

"Who knows? According to Crocus, it can take hours to months to reset," Nami explained.

"So we can be stuck here for months!" Usopp panicked.

"Relax. All of us can use Haki. If we cross any monsters, we can use Haki to tame them," Luffy responded.

"Um Luffy, you're the only person who knows how to do that," Zoro said.

"And you never did taught us how to do that," Sanji responded.

"Let's go!" Luffy yelled.

"He's not listening," Gin responded.

"Either way, we better go up the river and find the port," Nami responded.

"Hey everyone, I have 'don't go to that island' disease, so I don't think we should go there," Usopp responded.

"You're a pirate! Toughen it up!" Sanji told Usopp.
