"Okay, so this week's assignment is Taylor Swift songs." Sebastian announced.

"I love Taylor Swift songs." Aria commented.

"Mr. Smythe, I think I speak for all of us when we say that we would like to see you perform a Taylor Swift song." Cori remarked.

"Which song do you want to see?" Sebastian asked.

"Pick any one that you want." Aria told him.

"Alright." Sebastian declared before he began to sing and dance.

I stay out too late, got nothing in my brain
That's what people say mm-hmm, that's what people say mm-hmm
I go on too many dates, but I can't make em stay
At least that's what people say mm-hmm, that's what people say mm-hmm

But I keep cruising, can't stop won't stop moving
It's like I got this music in my mind, saying it's alright

Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

I never miss a beat, I'm lightning on my feet
And that's what they don't see mm-hmm, that's what they don't see mm-hmm
I'm dancing on my own, (dancing on my own) I make the moves up as I go (moves up as I go)
And that's what they don't know mm-hmm, that's what they don't know mm-hmm

But I keep cruising, can't stop won't stop moving
It's like I got this music in my mind, saying it's alright

Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

Shake it off, I shake it off
I, I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off
I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off

The whole club clapped when he finished. They were thoroughly entertained.

After rehearsal was over, Cori went over to Addie.

"So do you want to meet my mum and dad before the winter formal?" She asked her girlfriend.

"I would love to." Addie remarked. "So does that mean that I'm going to pick you up?"

"Uh-huh." Cori replied. "You know maybe we should have a song."

Addie just smiled as Cori realized what she was about to sing.

I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of her car
She had one hand feel on the steering wheel and the other on my heart
I look around and turn the radio down, she said "Baby is something wrong?"
I said "Nothing, I was just thinking how we don't have a song" and she said

"Our song is slamming screen door, sneaking out late tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow cause it's late and your momma don't know
Our song is the laugh is the way you laugh, the first date, didn't kiss her and I should have"
And when I got home 'fore I said Amen, asking God if he could play it again

I've heard every album listened to the radio
Waited for something to come along, that was as good as our song

Our song is slamming screen door, sneaking out late tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow cause it's late and her momma don't know
Our song is the laugh is the way she laughs, the first date, didn't kiss her and I should have
And when I got home 'fore I said Amen, asking God if he could play it again
Play it again

I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of her car
I grabbed a pen and an old napkin and wrote down our song

"I walked right into that one." Cori stated.

"Yes, you did." Addie agreed with a laugh.

That night, Aria was on her first date with Jamie. She was wearing a pleated purple V-cut dress.

"So have you here very long?" Aria asked her.

"I just moved here. I'm staying with a friend." Jamie explained. "She actually goes to your school. She just transferred."

"So why aren't you going to Dalton if you live with her?" Aria inquired.

"She's on a scholarship." Jamie stated. "I'm just grateful that she's letting me stay with her."

"What's her name?" Aria asked. "Maybe I know her."

"Katie Lynn." Jamie answered.

"No, I don't know her." Aria replied. "So my school's having this winter formal this weekend and I know that this is serious, so feel free to say no, but do you want to go with me?"

"C…can I have some time to think about it?" Jamie stammered.

"Sure." Aria remarked.

The following morning, Sebastian had some news to deliver.

"So, I found out who we're facing at Regionals." He said. "We're facing off against Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline."

"You mean last year's National Champion?" Abby asked. After a few years of slumping, Vocal Adrenaline had regained its top form, winning Nationals in 2014 and 2015.

"Yes." Sebastian replied as looks of disappointment spread around the room.

"Hey, we're not going to think like that." Danny piped in. "Just because they had more experience than us doesn't mean that we're more talented than us."

He then realized that it might be more effective if he sung it. He took out his guitar and began to play.

It's a sad picture, the final blow hits ya
Somebody else gets what you wanted again
You know it's all the same, another time and place
Repeating history and you're getting sick of it

But I believe in whatever you do
And I'll do anything to see it through

Cause these things will change, can you feel it now
The walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It's a revolution, the time will come for us to finally win
And we'll hallelujah, sing hallelujah

Tonight we'll stand and get on our knees
Fight for what we've worked for all these years
And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives
But we'll stand up champions tonight

It was the night things changed, I see it now
These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down
It's a revolution, throw your hands up cause we never gave in
And we'll sing hallelujah, we sang hallelujah, hallelujah

"That is exactly the kind of attitude that we need to have, Danny." Sebastian told him. "Well done."

Milla came up to him in the hallway with a wide grin on her face.

"You know what you said in there was so inspiring." She stated. "It really turns me on."

"I don't know if this exactly is the best place to do something like this." He replied nervously. Had they been anywhere else, he would have gladly accepted her offer.

"Come on, who's really going to see us?" Milla asked. "You know usually it's the guy trying to convince the girl."

"Do you know somewhere that we can go without getting caught?" Danny questioned her.

"How about we go out to the football field?" She suggested. "You can score a touchdown out there."

He wanted to cringe at the bad pun that she made, but it did kind of make her adorable.

The two of them went outside and he had to admit that the thought that they could get caught definitely made it more exciting. They even managed to get dressed before anyone got there.

"Just what are you doing here?" Katie asked them. She was dressed in sweats. "Oh my god, were you having sex out here?"

"Shouldn't you be inside?" Milla responded. "That's where cheerleading is meeting."

"I'm not a cheerleader." Katie declared. "I'm out here for my training regimen for the football team."

"Wait, are you the girl that was brought in from the other school?" Danny asked.

"Yes. I'm Katie." She replied.

"There's no way that you're a better quarterback than me." He remarked.

"Okay, you two don't really need to fight about this." Milla declared as she stepped in between them.

"You know boys have been telling me that for a while." Katie explained. "How about we settle this with a competition?"

"Whoever throws the ball the farthest wins." Danny proposed.

Katie took her ball and handed it to him.

"You're up first." She remarked.

He grabbed the ball and threw it as hard as he could, sending it 50 yards down the field.

"Beat that." He told her.

She retrieved the ball and set it flying a full 60 yards.

"How did you learn to throw like that?" Danny asked in disbelief.

"My brother and my coach taught me." Katie explained.

Milla realized that Danny looked like he needed some cheering up and decided to sing to him.

Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passion in the sin, ending so suddenly
Loving him is like trying to change your mind when you're flying through the free fall
Like the colors in autumn so bright just before they lose it all

Losing him was blue like I never know
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Loving him was red

Oh red, burning red

Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it's time that gotta let go
But moving on from him is impossible
And I still see it all in my head
Burning red
Loving him was red

Losing him was blue like I never know
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was trying to know somebody you never met
Cause loving him was red

Yeah red
Burning red
and that's why he's spinning around in my head
comes back to me burning red

Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street.

On Friday night, Jamie went to meet Aria at her house.

"So are you going to tell me if you want to go to the formal?" Aria asked.

"First I have something that I need to tell you." Jamie declared. "This is a pretty big secret of mine and I want you to promise not to freak out."

"Okay I promise…" Aria remarked.

"I was born…with…I used to be…I…" Jamie babbled trying to find the right words.

"Out with it." Aria demanded.

"A boy." Jamie stated. "I was born a boy. I ran away from home because my parents weren't okay with me getting an operation."

"So that means that you do have a vagina?" Aria questioned in surprise.

"Yes." Jamie confirmed. "I understand if you don't want to go with me anymore."

"Jamie, I still want to go to the formal with you." Aria replied. "But you haven't told me if you want to go with me."

"Yes, I want to." Jamie responded. "Do you want to pick me up at 8:00?"

The following night, everyone was in their finest for the dance. Cori wore a purple knee-length dress with her hair in a bun. Addie wore a long-sleeved snow leopard print dress. Milla had a green floor-length gown with tennis shoes. Abby wore a pink gown while Kayla had a white dress with a trailing hem and black flowers on it. Jacobi had a yellow gown inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Jasmine had a baby gown strapless gown. Aria had a dark green knee-length dress with two slits and Jamie had an off-shoulder silver-scaled gown.

"So did you like meeting my parents?" Cori asked as she and Addie danced together.

"Where is your sister from because I didn't really understand a word that he said?" Addie responded.

"Well my family lived in a Manchester for a while and she picked up the accent." Cori explained. "You know pretty much every major city has its own accent. I will quiz you on them some day."

"Is it going to be when you take me to England?" Addie questioned with a smile.

"Attention everybody." Katie said over the microphone. She was wearing an orange gown with her hair up. "My name's Katie and the headmistress asked me to sing a song for you."

I used to think one day we'd tell the story of us
How we met and the sparks flew instantly
And people would say they're the lucky ones
I used to know my place was a spot next to you
Now I'm searching the room for an empty seat
Cause lately I don't even know what page you're on

Oh, a simple complication, miscommunications lead to fallout,
So many things that I wish you knew, so many walls up that I can't break through

Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room and we're not speaking
And I'm dying to know is killing you like it's killing me
I don't know what to say since a twist of fate and it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now

This is looking like a contest of who can act like they care less
But I liked it better when you were on my side
The battle's in your hands now but I would lay my armor down
If you say you'd rather love than fight

So many things that you wish I knew
But the story of us might be ending soon

Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room and we're not speaking
And I'm dying to know is killing you like it's killing me
I don't know what to say since a twist of fate and it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now

The End

Sebastian definitely knew that he needed to get her into Glee club. She could really help at Regionals.

So Katie is Ryder's sister and Jamie revealed her secret that everyone who read the other story already knew about. The songs are "Shake It Off" from 1989, "Our Song" from Taylor Swift, "Change" from Fearless, "Red" from Red, and "The Story of Us" from Speak Now. Please don't forget to review.
